Little Devil Inside Gets New Gameplay Trailer

2 years 5 months ago

Today during the Sony State of Play livestream event, we got a nearly 5-minute long gameplay trailer for the upcoming action-adventure game by Neostream Interactive called Little Devil Inside.

In the game, you’re hired by a professor to help research the paranormal activities that have been reported. You must take on dangerous missions and roam a Victorian-era world, all while doing whatever it takes to stay alive.

Little Devil Inside combines aspects from many genres; it involves survival, combat, open world exploration, and interactions. You may find yourself in a variety of harsh environments, from dry deserts to snow blizzards, resorting to using your instincts in order to find a place to shelter and survive.

You can engage with people on your journey to exchange goods or simply ask for directions. While traveling, various events may occur, some bigger than others. Even something as minor as a flock of sheep blocking your path can prevent you from moving forward and must be dealt with.

The full trailer shows all of this and more in action, and you can watch it in order to get a feel for what kind of gameplay Little Devil Inside will offer.

Little Devil Inside has a pretty long history: it was originally started as a Kickstarter back in 2015, and our last major development update was during the Future of Gaming PS5 reveal event back in 2020.

Unfortunately, there is still no release date that has been shared at this time. However, the official Neostream website confirms that the game will release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Star Ocean The Divine Force Is Coming In 2022

2 years 5 months ago

At today’s PlayStation showcase, viewers were treated to an unexpected event – a new Star Ocean game! Wow. It’s been a while since we’ve seen one of these, huh? This one seems to have it all. Floating. Swords. Cool anime stuff. Go tri-Ace! You can check out the entire trailer below!

Click here to watch embedded media

Swords and sci-fi in my epic space RPG? Yes. Star Ocean is definitely one of my more beloved legacy RPG franchises, but we have to go all the way back to Star Ocean The Second Story on the PlayStation for the best of it. Whether or not a new title can give a bit of zest to the franchise now remains to be seen, but I’m always hoping that something will come along and bring us back to Star Ocean glory.

Outside of the Tales games, nothing conjures up that heartwarming combat quip spam. Star Ocean The Divine Force is slated to land on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Hopefully, it comes to other platforms too! The release date is a broad 2022, so we’ll see how things develop as we head into the new year.

A Look At Surviving Little Devil Inside's World

2 years 5 months ago

Click here to watch embedded media

Today's PlayStation State of Play showcase ended with Neostream Interactive's quirky action-adventure game Little Devil Inside. You can watch the new trailer above.

Set in a somewhat Victorian world, you'll set off into the wilderness on research assignments at the behest of a university professor. Though, the critters and beasts of Little Devil Inside are more extraordinary than those in the real world, many of which are supernatural. In the new footage, we were treated with a view of what it's like to set out on one of these journeys, complete with a narrated train ride and traveling around the world map. You'll talk with residents and roam around towns to find more information on your mission. Billy, the name given by the narrator, encounters all kinds of dangers like an octopus-infested indoor pool and a mechanical contraption that chases him through a tunnel. To survive in the wild, Billy will have to fish, cook, and struggle through blizzards.

Little Devil Inside was the indie standout from last year's PlayStation Future of Games' stream, but its history goes back quite a bit further. Neostream originally pitched Little Devil Inside as a Kickstarter project, successfully bringing in over $230,000 to fund the game, including a stretch goal to release on Wii U. Obviously, years have passed since then, and there was still no release date given today.

PlayStation State Of Play Gives A New Look At Surviving In Little Devil Inside

2 years 5 months ago

October's super-quick State of Play presentation showed off a few new games coming to Sony's PlayStation platforms, ending with a fresh new look at the upcoming open-world RPG Little Devil Inside. With the benefit of a narrator, the new trailer gave a bit of a sense of what the game will be like as you play Billy, attempting to complete jobs and stay alive in a strange, sometimes hostile world.

The new look at Little Devil Inside took a pretty broad approach, giving only a quick look at different aspects of the game to go with the tidbits we've seen about the game over the last year or so. In addition to seeing part of a mission where Billy heads to a spooky mansion to complete a job, we also got a quick look at survival elements like cooking and locales you'll visit for missions, including the desert and the open ocean.

Check out the trailer below.

While survival is an aspect of Little Devil Inside, it sounds like it's not like a traditional survival game. The focus is on traveling to locations and surviving while you're there, completing your mission, rather than on staying alive as long as you can in a hostile environment. In addition to some locales, the trailers also gives a sense of how you'll get around the world map, which will include encounters of its own--in this case, a flock of sheep blocking the way.

New Gameplay Details for Little Devil Inside Revealed - State of Play October 2021

2 years 5 months ago

Little Devil Inside, a new game that was shown off when the PlayStation 5 was announced, and there's finally some new gameplay details.

Ahead of the newest State of Play, PlayStation announced there would be a new, in-depth look at Little Devil Inside, an action-adventure game from the studio Neostream.

Little Devil Inside is a unique-looking title set in a kind of fantasy world with dragons and other mythical creatures. The story follows Billy, a young hero for hire handling side jobs in the idyllic countryside. Only after a job goes wrong Billy's whole life turns upside down.

Billy is able to fend off enemies using his sword, but also needs to survive by hunting and cooking food at safe campsites. Of course, different enemies ranging from tiny demons to big mechanical monsters are roaming the world waiting for Billy.

It was first announced in 2020 and looks to be inspired by classic adventure games like The Legend of Zelda. Since then Little Devil Inside disappeared briefly, though the developers announced some changes will be made to the enemy designs.

No release date yet for Little Devil Inside, sadly. For more from today's State of Play check out IGN for all the latest news and announcements.

Death's Door Is Heading To PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, And Switch - State of Play October 2021

2 years 5 months ago

Popular indie game Death's Door has a release date on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Switch.

During today's State of Play livestream, Sony confirmed that Death's Door will be headed to PS4, Switch, and PS5 in late November. Originally released back in July, Death's Door is currently available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Death's Door is a top-down action game that borrows elements from Dark Souls, though manages to retain much of its own identity. We were big fans of Death's Door when it was first released, and it has won critical claim for its high-quality action and striking visual style. It has a crow with a lightsaber. Who doesn't love a crow with a lightsaber?

Death's Door is out November 23. Check out the rest of our State of Play coverage for October 2021 right here.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force Announced for PC and Consoles Next Year - State of Play October 2021

2 years 5 months ago

In a surprising announcement during today's State of Play, Tri-Ace and Square Enix brought out the big space guns with an announcement of the next entry in the Star Ocean series, entitled Star Ocean: The Divine Force.

The Divine Force looks to follow in the footsteps of Integrity and Faithlessness as an action RPG, and appears to feature two heroes: a blonde man and a white-haired woman, among other party members. While the trailer was light on info, we got plenty more details in a PlayStation blog post that revealed our heroes as Raymond and Laeticia, a space captain and a crown princess who come together on a quest to save Laeticia's kingdom and find Raymond's crewmate Chloe.

Returning to the series is the "double hero" system, which will put players in the shoes of both Raymond and Laeticia, with different story elements unfolding from each of their perspectives and the choices made in each impacting how the story unfolds.

We got a look at some combat and exploration in both natural environments as well as an enormous city, and also saw the main cast drive around their cool big spaceship. The PlayStation blog indicates that The Divine Force will boast "one of the largest fields ever in the series" through which players can travel three-dimensionally via air travel.

2 years 5 months ago

Click to watch embedded media

PlayStation has revealed GungHo Online Entertainment's arena-based melee brawler Deathverse: Let It Die for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.

Not many details were announced about the game, but the trailer showed a lot. Set in the same world as 2016's Let It Die, the trailer begins with someone who appears to be the host of the Deathverse competition, which is something aired on in-universe television.

Deathverse seems to feature multiple characters, each with unique abilities and weapons that will be used to take down opposing players and NPC enemies. There's also weapon customization, which allows players to try a weapon, customize it after a battle, and return to the arena to try it out once more.

In terms of abilities, we see some players using a Tommy gun-like weapon to call bullets down from above, and we also see some damage-defying shields and bubbles. Some enemies use swords fit for a samurai, while others use weapons that look more at home in a Saw movie.

Five Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach Is Coming December 16

2 years 5 months ago

Five Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach officially has a release date: December 16, 2021. A new trailer debuted during Sony's most recent State of Play, highlighting first-person survival horror gameplay.

An official PlayStation Blog post shares more details. The title has players attempting to escape from Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, all the while evading animatronic baddies on the prowl. You'll be playing as Gregory, a little boy who find himself trapped inside the Pizzaplex once the restaurant's lockdown procedures go into effect.

Gregory can hide in small spaces and and cause distractions to navigate around his pursuers in order to avoid detection. Players will have a few other defensive tools at their disposal as well, including the Faz Cam and Fazblaster. The Faz Cam is a camera that stuns all enemies caught in its flash, allowing players to make a quick escape. The Fazblaster has unlimited ammo but requires a headshot to stun foes, which can be challenging when enemies are sprinting towards you.

In a twist, Freddy Fazbear himself will actually help players, acting as a guide throughout the game and warning of the challenges to come. As seen in the trailer, Gregory can actually hide inside Fazbear and march around the facility undetected, although this can only be done for a limited time before the animatronic runs out of power and needs to be recharged.

The PlayStation Blog teases that the game will include unique boss battles and office escape games, along with fully playable arcade cabinets hidden throughout the Pizzaplex.

Bugsnax Gets The Isle of Bigsnax Update Early Next Year - State of Play October 2021

2 years 5 months ago

During today's State of Play presentation, Young Horses announced that their goofy 2020 adventure about creatures that are kinda bug, kinda snack, is getting a major update early next year entitled The Isle of Bigsnax.

The Isle of Bigsnax, as the title indicates, seems to be a new area where the bugsnax from the main game are much, much larger. It takes place on a new island that's emerged from the bottom of the ocean, which several grumpuses from the main game -- Chandlo, Floofty, Triffany, and Shelda, specifically -- adventure to in order to explore its secrets. You'll get a new tool that allows you to shrink really big bugsnax down to a size that you can catch them at, and there will be a dozen brand new bugsnax to catch and snack on.

Returning to reprise their roles with new dialogue and character development are voice actors Yuri Lowenthal, Casey Mongillo, Debra Wilson, and Haviland Stillwell, as well as other returning characters "including one you might not expect" according to creative director Kevin Zuhn.

Other elements being incorporated in the update include the ability to put hats on bugsnax and customize your house with decor that comes in the mail by completing certain challenges.

The update is described as a "free, substantial update" and is planned for an unspecified date in early 2022 for PS5, PS4, and PC. Those who have finished the game can reload their save once it comes out and be dropped right before the end of the game to access the content, while new players will discover it organically.

Free Bugsnax: The Isle Of Bigsnax Update Releases In Early 2022

2 years 5 months ago

PlayStation's October 2021 State of Play showcase revealed the free Bugsnax update coming to PS5 and PS4 in early 2022 called The Isle of Bigsnax.

The update features giant snack creatures called Bigsnax, and yes, that means there will be huge Bungers, too. The story will still take place on Snaktooth island, but it centers around the newly discovered Bigsnax. It's a prehistoric species preserved in the ocean until now. Catching Bigsnax won't be so easy though, the game will introduce a new mechanic called the Shrink Spice, which lets you turn the Snax into a regular size. The Isle of Bigsnax includes a new habitat to explore and more Snax to discover, such as the celery-inspired bug in the reveal trailer.

Celery-inspired Bigsnax

There will be a new dangerous expedition to embark on with Shelda, Chandlo, Floofty, and Triffany. Additional updates let you collect decorations and furniture to personalize your Snaxburg hut inside and out. The update will add 100 challenges and 30 quests with almost 200 decoration pieces. You can access challenges through your mailbox. Also, you can put all sorts of Bughats on all of the Snax.

Dungeons & Dragons: Fizban's Treasury of Dragons Review

2 years 5 months ago

Over the years, Dungeons & Dragons has traditionally focused more on the dungeons element of the fantasy roleplaying game than on the dragons. Now Wizards of the Coast is looking to remedy this imbalance with a new bestiary rich with lore, encounters, and information about these beloved and scaly monsters. Fizban's Treasury of Dragons is mostly geared toward helping Dungeon Masters enhance their campaigns, but players can get something out if it too.

Last year, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything emphasized character creation options, with around two dozen subclasses and a newly refined method to race through custom origins. While Fizban's Treasury of Dragons offers less for the typical D&D player, the sourcebook encourages quality over quantity. And where Tasha covered plenty of elements without a particular theme in mind, Fizban smartly hones in on dragons and their evergreen influence within the universe.

Fizban's Treasury of Dragons comes in six chapters. The introduction is a lore-focused entry narrated by Fizban the Fabulous themselves. The first two chapters offer players brand new character creation tools and dragon-related feats, spells, and items to choose from. Originally from the Player's Handbook, the Dragonborn race gets an overhaul with three unique subclasses from the three types of dragons available, with an additional subclass upgrade from playtesting for Rangers.
