jujutsu kaisen alchemist code

The Alchemist Code will have a collaboration with Jujutsu Kaisen from February 10 until March 10, 2022. During this event, players will have the chance to obtain playable versions of characters like Yuji, Gojo, and Todo. This news first appeared in the recent issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

The Jujutsu Kaisen event in The Alchemist Code will feature a story original to the game. It will be exclusive to the Japanese server until the global version catches up. Aside from the aforementioned three characters, you can also see Nobara and Megumi in the game. It is unclear which characters will be free (if any) and which will be a limited summon. More information on elements and jobs will appear in the near future.

The Alchemist Code is a Japanese tactical RPG on mobile devices. It launched in Japan in 2016, and the global version launched in 2017. It has a turn-based battle system, as well as a class system that lets players obtain new skills to use no matter the class. Previous collaborations in The Alchemist Code include Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, Final Fantasy XV, and The Seven Deadly Sins.

Please, Touch the Artwork review - engaging with abstract art

2 years 2 months ago

My basic, idiotic take on Mondrian is that he's one of the hardest artists to see. I don't mean that you have to climb a lot of stairs or find your way through a maze. I don't mean that curators like to bombard you with dry ice as you approach. I mean that, once I look at a Mondrian - the classic grid-based Compositions kind of Mondrian - it's always been quite hard for me to really take it in. His squares and lines and blocks of primary colour have been thoroughly co-opted by the advertising and design industries. He belongs to the billboards now. He's on cosmetic bottles and dresses and iPhone cases. He's retro even - not 1930s retro, 1980s retro. (These are possibly all excuses: in reality Mondrian just makes me feel a bit stupid.)

Oh, and he's also the kind of artist that makes a certain kind of person say, "Well, I could've done that. Give me a ruler and a bunch of red and black and blue and yellow paint, and I could knock out Mondrians all day." Look at those elements of the classic Mondrian - again, the grid-based L'Oreal Mondrian that most easily comes to mind. Black lines. Blocks of flat colour. This Mondrian is surely a creature of MS Paint?

Dying Light 2 Techland Fixes Improvements

Dying Light 2 was released just last week and its player counts quickly overtook the all-time high of the first Dying Light. After a weekend of players running through Techland’s new city, Villedor, the studio has released a list of hotfixes and improvements coming to the zombie parkour game soon.

As expected, there are different bugs and things to fix on different platforms. The issues PC players are running into aren’t necessarily what’s being seen on PlayStation and what’s being seen on PlayStation isn’t necessarily what’s happening on Xbox consoles.

“Hello Survivors,” a tweet from the official Dying Light account reads. “We have implemented some hotfixes over the weekend and will be continuing to add more in the coming days. Thank you for the incredible support and patience. Here is our plan for the upcoming week.”

Ring Fit Adventure on Nintendo Switch is now just £40

2 years 2 months ago

Back during the 2020 lockdown, Nintendo kindly sent me a copy of Ring Fit Adventure so I could review it, and I still genuinely love it! Being able to work out from the comfort of my home with no pressure of any monthly gym fees was/is my ideal workout strategy- and it's probably the same for many others too.

Compared to an unused gym membership, Ring Fit Adventure lets you improve your fitness in your own time and at your own pace. The fitness RPG feels like you're playing a game rather than exercising. There's a sense of accomplishment afterwards, rather than a pang of guilt when that dreaded gym payment leaves your bank account.

Mir4 is a bizarre crypto-mine masquerading as a dated MMORPG

2 years 2 months ago

So, there's this South Korean MMORPG called Mir4 that's been out on mobile and PC for about six months now. It's free-to-play, so it started off with decent numbers, but from October to November the monthly average player count jumped up by 32k. It's tailing off now, but still averaging 60,000 Steam users over the last three months, a surge you'd think would be worth celebrating, right? I investigated and discovered that Mir4 is one bizarre game, with one soul-crushing USP: NFTs.

That's right folks. The game lets you mint your character as an NFT, and even mine cryptocurrency if you so choose. If this is the future, then it seems cold and strange and sad. Also, Mir4 is a terrible game.

The KOF XV Team Ash Story Hints at Kukri’s History

With KOF XV, a number of characters who died return to life to compete. SNK's been gradually releasing short stories that explain how things happened ahead of the new tournament. The latest goes into the KOF XV Team Ash backstory, though much of it hints at mysteries surrounding Kukri and a new character.

The first half of the KOF XV Team Ash backstory is all about Kukri. It explains what his life was like and why he might want to revive someone. It then explains how Ash was coincidentally revived. But before Kukri's past can be further explored, Ash shares footage ahead of the tournament of Dolores. Kukri has an unexpected reaction when he sees her.

As a reminder, both Dolores and another newcomer will be on the same KOF XV team. She's on Team Rival with Isla and Heidern. She and Heidern head to recruit Isla because of her unique "hands." She's known for using Sacred Earth Arts.

KOF XV will appear on February 17, 2022 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Its Omega Edition will be available for the PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X in North America and Europe.

Sifu review - gripping kung fu time management through a Western lens

2 years 3 months ago

I was a hearty 40-year-old when I walked into the Museum; a spry 68 when I walked out. No, I am not Dorian Gray. This is Sifu, a China-set martial arts revenge fable from French developer Sloclap, in which every "death" shaves another few years off your life, care of an enchanted pendant. In this case, the culprit was the Museum's artist-in-residence - one of five assassins who murder your character's father and destroy his Pak Mei Kung Fu school in the prologue, sparking a quest for payback that may last a single day or a lifetime, depending on your dexterity.

I couldn't just block her blades with my forearms, and struggled to time her whirling, leisurely strikes. But eventually, I learned to dodge and parry well enough to fit in a few combos of my own - a steadying palm to the solar plexus, then a cathartic shoulder barge and a running ankle-sweep, flooring my willowy adversary and allowing me to land a couple more punches... before helping her gallantly to her feet. Sifu would be a much easier game if the protagonist would just sit on downed foes and clobber them indefinitely, but then again, this is a story about mastering your brutal urges, with every loss of self-control measured in decades.

Dying Light 2 Has Shambled Onto Steam's 25 Most-Played Games of All Time by Concurrent Players

2 years 3 months ago

Dying Light 2 appears to be off to a strong start, as it has already shambled its way onto Steam's top 25 most-played games of all time with a peak concurrent player count of 274,983.

According to SteamDB, Dying Light 2 - which has greatly outperformed the original Dying Light's all-time peak of 45,876 players - has passed both KHOLAT and Halo Infinite to place 23rd on the list of Steam's most-played games of all time by concurrent players, and it sits behind The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

For comparison, PUBG: Battlegrounds is holding strong onto the #1 spot with an all-time peak of 3,257,248 players. In a distant second sits Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with 1,308,963 players. Additionally, the original Dying Light had an all-time peak of 45,876.

In most cases, the launch of a game will see the highest concurrent player count. However, in the age of live-service games and expansions and more, sometimes games can find a second chance at moving up the list.

In our Dying Light 2 review, we said that it "is an ambitious zombie action adventure that's packed with top-notch parkour, an awesome open world, and every painful bug in the book."

Batman: Arkham Collection for Switch Possibly Leaked by Retailer

2 years 3 months ago

According to French retailer WTT, Nintendo Switch may soon be getting the Batman: Arkham Collection, which includes Rocksteady's three Batman games - Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight.

As reported by VGC, this listing by WTT is of note as the retailer had previously listed the Switch port of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt before it got its official reveal. It's important to remember that this doesn't necessarily confirm that these games are coming, as this could have been a mistake or otherwise, but it should give some hope to those looking to take Batman on the go.

The listing, which is still up as of this writing, has a placeholder date of August 31, 2022, which could hint it may be planned for a summer 2022 release date. Who knows, if this listing does prove to be true, it could be part of Nintendo's currently unannounced first Direct of 2022.

Gundam Evolution Gets New Gameplay Videos Showing Guntank & GM Sniper II in Action

2 years 3 months ago

Bandai Namco has been releasing new clips of its upcoming free-to-play first-person shooter Gundam Evolution, showcasing two of its playable mobile suits.

We start with the RX-75 Guntank and its main weapon, the iconic 40mm Bop Missile Launcher. It can automatically aim and damage multiple targets or deal concentrated damage to a single one its in alternate mode. It can overheat, so you need to be careful.

The first active skill activates the equally-iconic 120mm Low-Recoil Cannon. It generates a blast effect where it hits, so it can damage multiple targets.

The second Active Skill is “Rush” which blocks frontal attacks while dashing forward and hitting and knocking back enemies. You can damage enemies further while doing so with a left click while the skill is active.

The next active skill is Fast Recovery. You can revive allies faster than usual, but it has a cooldown.

The G-Maneuver is Core Fighter Launch, which lets you fly the Core Fighter and hit enemies with an explosion. It can be done from a safe place.

Sifu’s Early Access Issues Have Been Resolved, Sloclap Promises to Make It Up to Deluxe Edition Buyers With a Gift

2 years 3 months ago

For those who were looking forward to check out the early access launch of Sloclap’s new martial arts game Sifu on PlayStation this past weekend, you might’ve encountered some issues on the storefront where it was virtually impossible to download the game or even launch it. Since then, the developers have stated on Twitter that they were actively working with Sony to resolve the issues as soon as possible.

As of five hours ago at the time of writing, Sloclap has announced that the issues have seemingly been resolved. They suggest redownloading the game, launching it from the games library, and trying to restore the license if anyone is still having trouble with it.

In addition to that, Sloclap also mentions that they’ll have an exclusive gift to share with Deluxe Edition buyers soon as a sign of good faith since they were the ones who have had to deal with the early access issues. Sifu is now available on PC and PlayStation.

Wordle Archive Lets You Play All Previously Released Puzzles at Your Own Leisure

2 years 3 months ago

Josh Wardle’s innovative little word game, Wordle, has taken the world by storm in the past couple of months. The game has since been acquired by the New York Times, and with the game’s code being so open, developers have been able to create their own spinoffs and variations of it as well. If you’ve only just gotten into Wordle and wish you could try your hand at some of the game’s previously released puzzles, you’re in luck.

Developer Devang Thakkar has just released Wordle Archive, which lets you play all 200+ daily puzzles that have already been released. Part of Wordle’s appeal is that you only get one word a day before having to wait 24 hours for the next one, but this is pretty much perfect for those who want to keep playing (almost) non-stop.

You’ll be able to check out the older puzzles until you’re all caught up, and you’ll never have to worry about missing a day. Though your streak will likely take a hit.

Fate/Grand Order Valentine’s 2022 Will Debut SSR Bazett

2 years 3 months ago

bazett fate/grand order valentine's 2022

During the Chaldea Satellite Station stream on February 6, 2022, Lasengle revealed some information on the upcoming Valentine’s Day event in Fate/Grand Order. Namely, that Bazett will appear in the Japanese version of the game as the event SSR. She will appear under the name Manannán mac Lir as part of the Alter Ego class.

She will not be the free event Servant due to her being a 5-star. You will need to pull for Bazett from the Fate/Grand Order banner. This is the second year in a row that the Valentine’s Day Servant bears the same design as a previous Type-Moon character. In 2021, the Japanese server debuted Amor as the SSR event Servant. In Amor’s case, she takes on the appearance of Caren from Fate/hollow ataraxia. As a side note, Bazett also appeared a main character in Fate/hollow ataraxia.

The Valentine’s 2022 event in Fate/Grand Order will start on February 9, 2022. Its official title is “Manannán Souvenir Valentine: The Chocolate Tree and the Goddess’s Choice.” In order to access it, players will need to have finished the Fuyuki Singularity first. Like previous Valentine’s events, you can obtain chocolate to give to your Servants. After receiving the chocolate, you can watch a fully-voiced scene in which they react to your gift.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Eurofighter Typhoon Announced; Sukhoi SU-31, Aermacchi M-346, & A32NX Airbus A320 Get Screenshots & Dev Updates

2 years 3 months ago

Today third-party developers had updates to share about upcoming aircraft add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

We start with IndiaFoxtEcho, which provided an extensive roadmap for its upcoming products. We get the announcement of a Eurofighter Typhoon.

An F-14D is also in the works, but for now the possibility of its release is not confirmed as IndiaFoxtEcho is using it as an experimental platform for technology.

Other aircraft like TA-4 / A-4 Skyhawk, E-2C Hawkeye, and C-27J Spartan are being considered.

Last, but not least, we get an update on the Sukhoi SU-31 and Aermacchi M-346 Master, which should be released in March and “no sooner than April.”

SUKHOI SU-31 This project took a lot longer than we expected, but it is on short final. We are not super-happy with the flight model – although it should be OK for most players, it is definitely not good enough for any kind of serious training.

We will try to polish it more – possibly with the help of real world pilots. We will provide more information soon.

Expected release date:

MARCH 2022AERMACCHI M-346 We have been working hard on 3D model details and new textures as we felt that our P3D assets were inadequate for MSFS.

We are still struggling with some details and complex animations, and there is some work to be done on the flight model and on the avionics, but we are quite happy with the results so far.

Expected release date: NOT SOONER THAN APRIL 2022

Vivid Knight’s Gameplay Loop Avoids Repetition

2 years 3 months ago

Vivid Knight gameplay feature

Games that change your entire outlook on a genre are important. Despite liking a few dungeon-crawlers and roguelikes over the years, I’ve never considered myself a fan of the genre. I rarely pick up games in which that’s the main selling point. And yet, Asobism’s Vivid Knight has me rethinking those past decisions. With a rather simple premise, Vivid Knight tasks you with making your way through multi-floor dungeons to collect gems and defeat the boss. Like I said, Vivid Knight is simple until you really consider its gameplay mechanics.

That simplicity is one of Vivid Knights strongest points. The combat system is neither varied nor complicated. You set your party members and when skills are off cooldown, you make your avatar set up a shield, randomly attack or cast a buff. Party members cycle through their skills automatically until the battle is done. That’s really it. Well, sort of.

Every dungeon gives you 30 crystals as a first-time completion bonus, and it’s possible to find more crystals within dungeons and their treasure levels. After clearing a dungeon, you’re pushed back to the home screen to either spend crystals on Kingdom Grimoires, which function as a sort of gacha system, or to start a “new game.” New games are just new dungeons. From there, you head right back into the action.
