Wizards Of The Coast Parts Ways With Admitted Sexual Predator
The company behind Magic: The Gathering, Wizards of the Coast, has ended its working relationship with Noah Bradley, an artist for the game that has been accused of sexual assault by a number of women over the past few days. On Sunday, Bradley issued a statement on Twitter, admitting to being a "shitty, creepy sexual predator" and a "selfish asshole" who preyed on vulnerable women at industry events.

Observation and The Messenger are great Xbox Game Pass picks
The final wave of Xbox Game Pass additions for June 2020 may not have the sheer impact of Kingdom Hearts or No Man's Sky – if you're just getting started, good luck – but if you're longing for something to pick up, play, and power through, Observation and The Messenger come highly recommended.
Observation is a thriller about a turbulent space station and an artificial intelligence with presumably less-than-pure intentions. The gameplay twist is that rather than playing as an astronaut, you're the AI.
While it was previously available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers on PC, The Messenger is joining the Xbox One lineup tomorrow, June 25. For many of us, it's a mixed experience that arguably bites off too much (it's 8- and 16-bit), but the classic Ninja Gaiden and metroidvania fan in me still had fun.
Two other lesser-known games – Night Call, a mystery-cracking visual novel about a cabbie who's on the hook for a string of murders, and Streets of Rogue, a top-down roguelite with "emergent gameplay elements of immersive sims and RPGs" – are also playable with a Game Pass membership.
Here's the platform and timing breakdown for this week's games:

Telling Lies developer is teasing his next game Project Ambrosio
The next game from the director of the video watching ’em ups Telling Lies and Her Story is teasing his next game but, ah, a few details are missing. Or redacted, rather. Sam Barlow’s next narrative thing has emerged with a store page full of blacked-out text, including it’s name. It didn’t take folks to dig up that part, at least. Its name (or at least code name) is Project Ambrosio and will be out in, well, this millennium.

You can check out the first Summer Spotlight Series video below.
Some of the videos also include footage newly released or highly anticipated titles, such as Cyber Shadow, ScourgeBringer, Super Meat Boy Forever. Below is a full list of all the games mentioned in the Summer Spotlight Series.

The Mafia remake has a slider to control cop aggression
The Mafia games have gotten increasingly lenient in terms of what the police consider to be stoppable offenses. In the first game, simply blowing through a red light would get you pulled over. In Mafia II, traffic lights weren't of much concern but cops weren't shy about issuing tickets for anyone breaking the speed limit. Mafia III's police don't care so much about traffic laws but a black man behind the wheel always piques their suspicion.
The remake of Mafia will let you choose your preferred cop aggression. In an interview with USGamer, developer Hangar 13 explains that there's a slider to determine how strict the police are. The default settings are akin to the original version of Mafia, but anyone who wants to have more fun with it can crank the police presence down and drive like a madman.
Because this is a remake, the mission structure has been radically altered too. Hangar 13 says that it's trying to emulate the gameplay of Mafia III but without all the repetitive missions. Instead, it's focusing on making each task meaningful. The combat will function similarly to Mafia III too, featuring the sort of sticky cover that games like Gears of War popularized; the original Mafia emphasized using cover, but it mostly just meant hiding behind walls with free movement. Now, it's adapting genre conventions that have been the standard for well over a decade.

Esteemed developer Naughty Dog is back with its highly anticipated The Last of Us Part 2, set to conclude the story of Joel and Ellie once and for all. As you’d expect from a game that puts such a strong focus on storytelling and clever writing, its voice cast has been carefully selected. Here we’ll introduce you to the voice actors who bring its thrilling plot to life.
Ashley Johnson – Ellie
Reprising her role from the first game, Ashley Johnson returns to play an older, more mature version of Ellie. Since her excellent performance back in 2013, Johnson has featured in several other video games, television series, and films. <br><br>For example, she played Petra in Minecraft, Narrated Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, and had minor roles in films like The Avengers (waitress Beth) and Punching Henry (Danielle), and voice acted animated series such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Renet).
Emily Swallow – Emily
Emily Swallow shares a first name with the character she portrays in The Last of Us Part 2. In the game, Emily is a member of Seraphetis. She’s the character from that particularly brutal first trailer for the game from E3 2018 in which three men were hung and gutted.<br><br> For what we imagine will be a fairly grizzly performance, Swallow draws almost exclusively on television experience, having played roles such as Lisa Tepes in Netflix’s Castelvania, and Amara in Supernatural.

How Supergiant Games made the hack’n’slash accessible with Hades
is a roguelike dungeon crawler that sees you fight your way through ever shifting levels of the underworld, from wispy shades of the undead to foes of Greek legend, on frantic battlegrounds that can send you to your death in an instant. As a disabled player, oftentimes I don’t have access to kinds of games like Hades.
I have a connective tissue disorder that means all of my joints naturally extend beyond their normal range due to… something funky with my collagen. It’s great for party tricks – I can unhinge my jaw like a snake to fit an inhuman amount of cheese in my mouth – but I also can’t opt out of hyperextending, which means every time I move a joint without being intentional about what I’m doing, I can risk a sprain or dislocation. I both have to be careful to not over-strain my joints, and also deal with just an inordinate amount of muscle fatigue from normal activity.
This hasn’t stopped me playing video games, but it does limit how I play them. Greg Kasavin, the creative director for Supergiant Games, was kind enough to provide some insight about the design process for weapons like the Twin Fists, and the introduction of accessible design throughout Hades.

Project Cars 3 gets into gear this August
Project Cars 3 will park itself on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 28th August.
This third entry in Slightly Mad Studios' series adds several new tracks and a streamlined career mode letting you upgrade a vehicle and take it from road racing onto the race track.
Project Cars 3 feels a little different, Martin reported, after playing a pre-release version of the game a few weeks ago. It has a more arcade-y look, he said, and a desire to present as a more accessible racing game, while retaining systems from the series' sim-focused origins.
Sci-fi thriller Observation and The Messenger lead latest Xbox Game Pass additions
Microsoft has unveiled its latest Xbox One and PC Game Pass additions, and while there's not much in the way of blockbuster offerings to be seen, there are some enormously enjoyable indie treats, including The Messenger and sci-fi narrative adventure Observation.
First on the list, and for Xbox One, is Night Call, which arrives today, 24th June. It's an unusual noir-inspired narrative adventure which unfolds entirely within the confines of a taxi. You're the driver, tasked - alongside making your regular living by driving around Paris - with catching a killer, putting the pieces together through conversations with passengers. Eurogamer's Christian Donlan loved Night Call when he reviewed it last year.
Next up, and coming to console and PC on 25th June, is Observation. It's a sci-fi thriller - very much in the wandering and probing template - from Stories Untold developer No Code, that follows the story of scientist Dr. Emma Fisher, who finds herself on a crewless spaceship far from Earth with no company aside from the ship's AI. In an unusual turn, it's the latter that players control, fiddling around with the station's cameras and control systems to progress the mystery. This one got the Eurogamer thumbs-up too.
Official Halo YouTube Channel Releases Mysterious Transmission; Teases Something Banished Related
The official YouTube channel of the Halo series has released a new video today titled: SIGNAL DETECTED. TAG DESIGNATION: FOE.
The video, running a little over a minute long, features a speech from an unknown entity but it seems to hint that a group known as the Banished, have taken over a Halo Array (referred to as a ring in the video), and threatens humanity saying that they will “burn.” Check it out below.
The Banished, for those unfamiliar are a group of rebel Covenant Brutes (known as the Jiralhanae) and their allies that are generally pissed all the time, but in particular they really don’t like the Sanghelli, AKA your rank and file Covenant elite that most players are used to killing by now.
The Banished are featured prominently in Halo Wars 2 and in that game they are led by Atriox, a former Covenant military leader that fought many battles against humanity and led a rebellion against the Covenant.
As many fans in the comments of the video have pointed out though, the voice does not appear to be Atriox. Atriox, doesn’t hate humanity as much as he does the Covenant, and it would be a little out of character for him to threaten Humanity in this way, at least with the information that we have on him.

Sakura Wars Music Video Stars Lancelot and Her Song With English Subtitles
Sega released a trailer of its recently-released game Sakura Wars, which was originally titled Shin Sakura Taisen in Japan, and it’s another music video.
The trailer features the English-subtitled version of the character song of London revue member Lancelot, aptly titled “Knights of the Round Table.” It’s performed by Lancelot’s voice actress, Manami Numakura.
You may know her for her roles as Manami Numakura in Tokyo Xanadu and Scarlett in Killer is Dead.
Of course, the song is heavily inspired by knightly tones. You can check it out below.
Sakura Wars is now available exclusively for PS4 and you can read our review.

Don't Starve: Newhome is a mobile spin-off with co-op and persistent homes
A new Don't Starve game surfaced this week, and it's out of left field.
Don't Starve: Newhome is a free-to-play mobile spin-off developed by Shengqu Interactive, published by Tencent Games, and licensed under Klei Entertainment. If you're out, I gotcha. If you're in – or at least in enough to want to hear more – there's a cinematic trailer and a closed beta test coming in mid-July.
Shengqu says Don't Starve: Newhome is multiplayer-focused and play sessions are "faster."
"Players will be able to build persistent homes, discover new creatures, builds, and crafting options, and team up with friends online to delve even deeper into the world of Don't Starve: Newhome. The game will also feature a new story mode, ongoing live support, and much more." There's a pair of screens, too.
Sometimes I forget how big the Don't Starve brand has gotten. A rebuilt-for-mobile title from another studio isn't ideal, but I'm happy about the series' success. Its art direction is still second to none.
