Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep Available Now As Standalone Game

2 years 7 months ago

Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep is a fan-favorite DLC campaign that was originally released for Borderlands 2 back in 2013, and now, it’s available as a standalone game. Starting today, Assault on Dragon Keep can be bought for $9.99 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. In fact, it’s actually free to claim on the Epic Game Store until Nov. 16.

This new standalone title is being billed as a “Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure” as the March 25 launch date for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands slowly approaches. Assault on Dragon Keep is meant to introduce newcomers to the storyline that helped create the idea for Wonderlands.

If you’re unfamiliar with this Borderlands 2 DLC, it puts Tiny Tina in the role of Bunker Master in a game of Bunkers & Badasses. Think D&D but with more explosions, as players venture through castles, magic forests, dungeons, and more mystical settings.

You can check out the launch trailer for Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure below to see gameplay both new and familiar:

GTA The Trilogy Definitive Edition GIFs And Stickers Released By Rockstar Ahead Of Launch

2 years 7 months ago

Just ahead of the launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, Rockstar Games has created a series of animated GIFs and stickers for people to use.

All of these have been published to the official Rockstar Games Giphy page. They can be downloaded there, or you can find them in any messaging app that supports Giphy.

The GTA San Andreas GIFs included C.J. saying things like, "Where all the homies at?" and a simple, "Damn." The famous, "Ah sh** here we go again" is featured as well. For Vice City, there is a GIF of Ken saying to Tommy, "I'm gonna need new pants," and a GTA III GIF of Catalina saying to Claude, "I'm not to be trusted."

You can use these GIFs on Instagram, Tiktok, and anywhere else you send messages. There are, of course, many more than what's available on the Rockstar Games Giphy page, including some less than wholesome creations inspired by other parts of each game.

GTA The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition releases on November 11, featuring updated and improved versions of GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas with GTA V-style controls. November 11 is also the day that San Andreas comes to Xbox Game Pass.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Could Include Deeper Systems, Social Elements

2 years 7 months ago

With Bethesda Game Studios currently working on Starfield, The Elder Scrolls VI is currently in pre-production and likely many years away. But fans are eager for new details on the game regardless, and creative director Todd Howard has offered some hints as to what features the next installment in the legendary RPG franchise may include.

In a new interview with IGN, Howard offered details on what he would change about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which may be a good indication of what fans can expect from The Elder Scrolls VI.

"There are a number of parts of [Skyrim] where we don't go deep enough, where it's a veneer in terms of its interactivity.[...] When we think about games and what we would want to do going forward, it's okay… whatever that system is… how deep can we make it?" Howard said. "The other thing is how AI and NPCs interact with you. That's something I think we still have a long way to go with."

Howard also spoke to IGN on the studio's commitment to making single-player games, but he left room open for experimentation when it comes to adding social elements.

"There are various ways you can talk about adding social elements to a game that I don't think take away from [the solo experience]," Howard said. "We've dabbled with some of that and not put it out, or things on paper, things we'd like to try in our games. So I don't want to rule that out."

As for when fans will be able to get their hands on The Elder Scrolls VI, Howard knows Bethesda's games take a long time to come to fruition.

Tiny Tina's Assault On Dragon Keep Campaign Is Now A Standalone Game

2 years 7 months ago

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, the final DLC expansion that was released in 2013 for Borderlands 2, will relaunch this week on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC as a standalone title. On PlayStation and Xbox, the game will set you back $10, but it will be free until November 16 on PC through the Epic Games Store.

In case you missed it when it first launched nearly a decade ago, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is Dungeons & Dragons as viewed through a Borderlands lens and is widely regarded as the best expansion that Gearbox's loot-'n-shoot sequel had to offer.

Beyond poking fun at the strategy genre and banishing Mr. Torgue to the stockades, the campaign was also a touching send-off for one of the characters who perished during the events of Borderlands 2, allowing explosive weapons expert Tiny Tina to gain some closure in the process.

While the expansion had some genuinely heartwarming moments, its minute-to-minute gameplay was also a fantastic mix of magic, enchanting locations to explore, and an arsenal that could take out the dread Dragon Lord. Gearbox Software said in a statement that the re-release will feature brand-new loot and cosmetics.

Halo Infinite's Spartan Killer Jega Was Made To Be Disturbing

2 years 7 months ago

Halo Infinite will see Master Chief battle against the forces of the Banished on the damaged Zeta Halo, but it won't just be the Brute chieftain Escharum players have to worry about.

In a new interview with IGN, 343 Industries has offered new details on Jega, a terrifying elite assassin that is part of a group of enemies classified as Spartan Killers. These Spartan Killers, who call themselves the Hand of Atriox--named after the Banished leader who first appeared in Halo Wars 2--serve as mini-bosses in Halo Infinite's campaign and are hellbent on destroying the Master Chief.

No Caption Provided

Jega looks to be the most ferocious of the group. Associate creative director Paul Crocker said the goal was to make him into "the creepiest, most distributing character that's been in Halo."

"Just every time you see him... he looks at things as prey," Crocker said. "The whole experience of how he toys with Chief is just... how he is."

The Waylanders Full Launch Delayed Until Early 2022

2 years 7 months ago

Spanish studio Gato Salvaje has made the decision to delay its upcoming tactical ARPG, The Waylanders, by 3 months, moving the game’s release date until Feb. 2. The Waylanders has been out in Steam Early Access for over a year, in which time the studio has added a substantial amount of new content and both improved and changed key systems ahead of a full launch.

While this week’s news of a delay will be disappointing to some fans who have already waited a long time, it sounds as though it’s a necessary step to ensure the full release is as polished as can be.

Gato Salvaje co-founder Fernando Prieto said in a press release:

“Releasing this month would not provide the quality experience our fans deserve. While we have been working hard to get all our backers and Early Access players the RPG they’d been hoping for before the holidays, we’ve done an internal review pass on The Waylanders and our team needs more time to polish the game.

Developing during Covid has been challenging for many teams, including ours, and rushing The Waylanders out the door after nearly four years of development will not make anyone happy. The Waylanders will have over two hours of cinematics and more than thirty hours of gameplay, and we want to provide the best possible day one release version to the community.”

To help tide Early Access players over until the new release date, The Waylanders will receive Early Access and Games in Development updates improving several currently available areas of the game, such as The Cave of Eternity and the Fomorian World in The Corrupted Cove. The updates will also add remaining text localization for multiple Celtic era quests and fix community-reported bugs.

Fallout 5: Bethesda's Todd Howard Says He Has Ideas, But Don't Get Too Excited Yet

2 years 7 months ago

Bethesda's Todd Howard has ideas for the next mainline Fallout game. Speaking to IGN, Howard was asked if Bethesda might hand a potential Fallout 5 off to another studio in a similar way to how it tapped Obsidian to develop Fallout: New Vegas.

Nothing is certain yet, Howard said, but he does have some ideas in mind for the next game.

"I don't see... Look, Fallout's really part of our DNA here," he said of developer Bethesda Game Studios. "We've worked with other people from time to time--I can't say say what's gonna happen. You know, we have a one-pager on Fallout 5, what we want to do."

The "one-pager" is likely a reference to a single-page document containing high-level details about the next Fallout game. Clearly, it's very early days for the next Fallout game.

Howard went on to say that Bethesda's main focus right now is on November 2022's Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6, which remains years off. A potential fifth mainline Fallout game would follow sometime after, so it would be a very long time. Howard said he wishes development could progress faster.

"If I could wave my hand and have [Fallout 5] out--you know, I'd like to find a way to accelerate what we do, but I can't really say today or commit to anything, [like] what's going to happen when," Howard said.

While Fallout 5 might not be here anytime soon, Bethesda is working with Amazon on a Fallout TV series from the creators of Westworld.

The latest entry in the Fallout series is Fallout 76, which released in 2018. In a big shift for the series, the game is a multiplayer, online game. It had its fair share of issues at launch, and Bethesda has updated and improved the game since then.

Bethesda Game Studios Is Committed to Single-Player Games

2 years 7 months ago

Bethesda Game Studios, the developer behind The Elder Scrolls, Starfield, and modern Fallout, is "absolutely" still committed to single player games, according to creative director Todd Howard – but that doesn't mean it won't experiment with adding social elements to solo experiences.

Speaking during an episode of IGN Unfiltered covering Skyrim's 10th anniversary, Starfield, The Elder Scrolls 6, and more, Howard was asked if – after making the massively multiplayer Fallout 76 – the studio was still focused on making single-player games.

Howard replied, "Absolutely," adding later that "It's part of who we are, it's what we love about games." From the little we know of each project, BGS' next two games, Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6, will likely both be broadly single player games in the vein of the developer's best-loved work.

Howard pointed to the fact that even the studio's big multiplayer experiment added an expansion that facilitated more single-player play: "With Fallout 76, once we added Wastelanders and that kind of questing stuff, the amount of people that want to play it as a solo experience is very, very strong." Wastelanders was a free update that added human NPCs, a new storyline, and more that we said made the game begin to "feel like a true Fallout game."

Todd Howard: Making Starfield Was Now Or Never, Even If Elder Scrolls 6 Had To Wait

2 years 7 months ago

Elder Scrolls fans love to joke about the long gap between Skyrim and The Elder Scrolls 6, which is now 10 years and counting. Director Todd Howard is more aware of this gap than ever, but when it came to making Starfield and diving into a whole new world, it was pretty much now or never.

In a wide-ranging interview with IGN Unfiltered covering Skyrim's 10th anniversary, Starfield, and The Elder Scrolls 6, Howard talked about the lengthy list of projects that wound up pushing the project back upon the conclusion of Fallout 4 in 2015.

"Would you plan to have the kind of gap we're having between Skyrim and the follow-up? I can't say that's a good thing," Howard says. "Do I wish I could wave a wand and the game we wanted to make [...] just came out? Absolutely."

However, there were other projects that came first, including Fallout 76. What's more, if Bethesda Game Studios wound up prioritizing The Elder Scrolls 6, it was unclear if it would ever get another chance to truly do something new.

"We felt doing something like Starfield... we'd been wanting to do something else for a long time and play in a new universe, so if not now — I'm going back in time, we started right after Fallout 4, so 2015 — if not now, when? It felt like, if we didn't do it then, the 'when' could be 'never," Howard said.

Halo Infinite Campaign: Get to Know Jega, a ‘Spartan Killer’ – IGN First

2 years 7 months ago

[Minor spoiler warning for Halo Infinite. There aren't any formal story spoilers here, but if you don't want to know anything about the campaign, turn back now.]

Halo Infinite sees Master Chief square off against The Banished, a renegade faction of The Covenant who’ve taken over the Zeta Halo ring that Master Chief finds himself on in this, the sixth mainline Halo campaign. The Banished are led by Atriox, the main antagonist in 2017’s real-time strategy spinoff Halo Wars 2. But Atriox isn’t just a CEO with an army of direct reports. That wouldn’t be a very efficient management structure. No no...he’s got layers of middle management that Chief is going to have to shoot his way through before he can get to the guy at the top of the pyramid.

We’ve already learned a little bit about War Chief Escharum, the second-in-command to Atriox revealed in Halo Infinite’s 2020 campaign demo who’s leading The Banished forces on Zeta Halo. But there are also the so-called Spartan Killers, a group of top-shelf fighters who are hellbent on ending Master Chief’s reign as the Covenant’s own personal collective “Demon.” During our visit to 343, we spent time sitting down with the Halo Infinite team to discuss the notion of a boss fight in a Halo game, and more specifically, one of those bosses: Jega 'Rdomnai, a dual-red-plasma-sword-wielding Elite who is among the Spartan Killers – who are also known as the Hand of Atriox – and should make for a fierce encounter on any of Halo’s legendary (including Legendary) difficulty levels. He was briefly shown in the recent Halo Infinite Campaign Overview trailer, but we learned a lot more about him.

Bethesda Has an Idea for Fallout 5, But Don't Expect It For Many Years

2 years 7 months ago

Bethesda's Todd Howard has explained that there is an idea for Fallout 5 at the studio, but refused to commit to any other details, from a timescale to possible developers.

Speaking during an episode of IGN Unfiltered primarily covering Skyrim's 10th anniversary, Todd Howard was asked if there was a world where – with Bethesda Game Studios focusing on creating on Starfield, followed by The Elder Scrolls 6 – the next mainline Fallout game could be passed to another developer (previously Fallout: New Vegas was handed to Obsidian, for example).

Howard seemed to play down that idea, adding that there is a tentative idea for what a prosepective Fallout 5 could be: "I don't see... Look, Fallout's really part of our DNA here. We've worked with other people from time to time – I can't say say what's gonna happen. You know, we have a one-pager on Fallout 5, what we want to do."

A one-pager is a term used for a high-level document that outlines a product or business idea. In terms of games, a one-pager would usually include a broad concept for the game, its plot, intended mechanics, target audience, and unique ideas. Essentially, somewhere in Maryland, a vision of Fallout 5 exists.

Only True Guardians of the Galaxy Fans Can Name These Ten Characters

2 years 7 months ago

You’d be hard-pressed to find another movie as funny and full of heart as Guardians of the Galaxy. Not only is James Gunn’s sci-fi marvel visually impressive (pun intended!), but it also features a stellar cast of colorful characters that imbue the series with an immense level of charm, wit, and banter.

With Eidos-Montréal’s recently released video game adaptation – which we absolutely loved – and a third cinematic outing penciled in for 2023, we thought that now would be a good time to put your knowledge of the ragtag gang of misfits to the test.

All you’ll need to do is identify these ten characters from the recent Guardians of the Galaxy flicks off just a single image. I mean, they do say a picture speaks a thousand words, right?

So, without further ado, put on your favorite ’80s tunes, prepare yourselves for a dance-off, and try not to succumb to Peter Quill’s pelvic sorcery as we board the Milano and take a trip back to the iconic Marvel universe of Guardians of the Galaxy in Twinfinite’s latest movie quiz. Let’s get into it, shall we?

Microsoft Flight Simulator – Skiathos Airport Review (Orbx)

2 years 7 months ago

Orbx recently released its rendition of Skiathos Alexandros Papadiamantis Airport (LGSK) for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Since it serves as a popular Holiday destination, Skiathos airport is pretty much the domain of seasonal and charter flights. There are regular connections with Athens in the colder months, but those are served by turboprops like the ATR 42. We’ll have to wait a little longer to have those properly implemented in the simulator.

It’s also a very interesting airport due to its highly sloped runway and scenic approach over the city, its bay, and port.

It’s currently available on Orbx Direct for $17.49, which means that you can use the convenient Orbx Central client to install the airport and keep it up to date.

If you’d like an extensive look at the scenery, you can watch an approach and landing on runway 01 in the first video above, and a full flyover in a variety of lighting and weather conditions in the second video below.
