Cards are everywhere in games it seems. Steam is filled with excellent CCGs, and even action games like Back 4 Blood have discovered that cards are an ideal way to deal with cascading fountains of perks and buffs. At night with screens off I might play a round of Exploding Kittens or Bandido on the kitchen table. I am never far away from cards.
But one of the greatest things about cards rarely gets a look in. This is what makes the reappearance of Apple Arcade launch charmer, Where Cards Fall, on Switch and PC such a pleasant thing. Where Cards Fall is a puzzle game, like hundreds of other card games. But it's also a platform game. A platform game in which the platforms are made of cards.
Elden Ring is one of the most anticipated game of 2022, and it's actually out remarkably soon on February 25. Star Citizen and Squadron 42 developer Cloud Imperium Games plans to open a huge new studio in Manchester, making it one of the UK's largest development houses.

Accessibility has always been a hot topic in the gaming world, and it makes sense that one of the biggest games right now is doing more for the different gamers out there. Playground Games, developers of the acclaimed Forza Horizon 5, has announced its plans to add sign language support for cutscenes to improve the game’s accessibility features.
The news comes via an Xbox News Wire post, with creative director Mike Brown emphasizing the team’s commitment to accessibility throughout the development of Forza Horizon 5.
“We believe that designing for the billions of people on this planet starts with designing for just one and extending to many, and that accessibility should be considered from the very start of product design. We are committed to providing resources and support to make it easy to build accessibility into gaming,” Brown explained.
As such, an upcoming update will see the fruits of the team’s labour of working on American Sign Language (ASL) and British Sign Language (BSL) support for cinematics in Forza Horizon 5. This will then add a picture-in-picture display near the bottom of the screen of an ASL/BSL interpreter when cinematics are played.
There is no doubt that Forza Horizon 5 already has some robust accessibility features, such as speed adjustments, high contrast and color blindness modes, customizable subtitles, and much more. The new sign language support is yet another great step towards inclusive gaming for everyone.

Massively popular manga One Piece is getting a live-action adaptation from Netflix. The adaptation was first announced back in 2017, with Netflix’s involvement revealed last year. Now in 2021, the show’s main cast has finally been announced, and One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda seems excited about how things are going.
Darkest Dungeon 2 has made some quite profound changes, and I wasn't sure about them at first. I think they annoyed me. But in going back to the original to refamiliarise myself, it made me see them differently - isn't it funny how our minds can idolise things to the point of infallibility? I thought very highly of Darkest Dungeon. But by seeing it laid bare, I see the sequel better, and now, I'm a fan.
It's all about the carriage - that's the big change. It's a wooden thing pulled by a horse, very much like the carriage in Darkest Dungeon's opening sequence. And this time it's your home. You no longer have a static base. That hamlet on the hill that you rebuilt in DD, that's gone. Now you live life on the road.
It was pretty clear that Forza Horizon 5 was a highly-anticipated game, and now we can get a better idea of just how high that is.
While thanking the players and congratulating the developers at Playground Games, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer announced on Twitter that the game has achieved the biggest launch day among all titles created by Xbox Game Studios.
We also hear that it has passed 4.5 million players among all of its platforms, and the peak concurrent player numbers are three times as high as the peak reached by Forza Horizon 4.

Last week, we got a look at the full list of games that were set to be run during Awesome Games Done Quick 2022. This week, it looks like the schedule has finally been locked in, with specific times and runner names all added into the schedule itself. AGDQ 2022 looks pretty stacked with tons of exciting recent game releases, including Chicory: A Colorful Tale and Final Fantasy VII Remake – Intergrade as one of the bonus game incentives.
We’ll also be getting speedruns of some older games as well, such as NieR: Automata, and some speedrunning staples like Mario, Sonic, and Castlevania.
Wrapping up the entire event at the end of the week is a speedrun of Metal Gear Solid on Extreme difficulty by dlimes13, who will be completing every boss encounter of the game. The original Metal Gear Solid (and the series as a whole) has always lent itself pretty well to speedruns, so this will be a fun one to close out the event on.
AGDQ 2022 will run from Jan. 9 to 16, 2022.

Among Us was one of the most popular multiplayer party games when the COVID-19 pandemic hit last year, and it continues to be a mainstay in the Twitch gaming community. Innersloth has just released a new update for the game, adding a whole ton of new features to it.
For starters, there are a few new player roles to check out, as listed below:
Crewmate Roles

These roles are completely customizable, and you can add or remove them in your own game lobbies.

I’ve spent the weekend after launch playing Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer, and I'm glad to say I'm having a lot of fun. Mind you, I have fun with this series most years, and I wouldn’t necessarily call Vanguard a high point even among the past few games. The biggest issue is that it doesn't really do anything new and feels all too familiar – more of a refined riff on what we’ve played in Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare than something with its own distinctive style of gameplay. I feel compelled to slap it with words like “uninspired” and “unambitious,” and it seems to have carried over a few small technical annoyances from last year. And yet... after spending most of my free time running around the mostly excellent new maps, upgrading my weapons to highly satisfying levels, and – most importantly – shooting other people in the face, I have to say that in spite of its familiarity, Call of Duty: Vanguard's multiplayer is dependably a good time.
The Fortnite Item Shop update has dropped, and today's store inventory brings a large selection of wraps, but this time, they're not just for helicopters, boats, and guns. You can customize any of the several wrappable outfit character skins, who first debuted during Season 7. They're back and offer a great deal of customization never seen before in Fortnite. Here's more on those plus everything else in the Fortnite Item Shop for November 10, 2021.
The wrappable outfits cosmetic series, officially known as the Show Your Style set, includes 10 different characters, each with different hairstyles and faces, but each also with a jacket that can display any wrap you own. Given that there are hundreds of wraps in the game and each character's hair color can be changed, there are thousands of options on offer even for just one character.
Each character sells for 1,500 V-Bucks, and there are similarly wrappable pickaxes and back bling for players looking to splurge on the customizable heroes. There's also a massive selection of wraps in the store today too, so you can pair a new design with a new hero.
IGN is pleased to exclusively reveal that Naraka: Bladepoint’s next character is Yueshan, a hero based on Chinese history.
Yueshan’s design has its roots during China’s warring states period. Developer 24 Entertainment notes that he’s dressed in lamellar armour, and is able to shoulder charge enemies in order to knock them over and land a blow while they’re stuck on the floor.
For his ultimate ability, Yueshan is able to transform into a Terracotta warrior and use a huge, flaming halberd to cut down enemies. You can see him in action in the trailer above, which sees him cutting through enemies and leaving trails of fire with each swing of his polearm weapon.
Yueshan joins the fight on Morus Island on November 10 as part of the new season, which comes as Naraka: Bladepoint hits 6 million copies sold worldwide. If you’ve yet to jump in and this looks like your kind of fight, then Naraka: Bladepoint will be 30% off for a week, starting November 11 and ending November 17.
Those who are already playing in Naraka: Bladepoint are also set to get a cool and unusual gift as thanks for their continued support: a recreation of a historic dagger. 24 Entertainment has announced that it is working with the Art Museum of Chinese Ancient Weapons to help restore the Equestrian Blade, a historic dagger with a horse head handle that has been traced back to the Western Zhou Dynasty. This short sword, a major exhibit of the Pingyao Wentaofang Ancient Weapon Museum, will then be re-created in-game and gifted to players.
As one of Bethesda's biggest and most beloved series, it's not much of a revelation to hear the company is already mulling over a new Fallout instalment, but studio director Todd Howard has now talked a little about a potential new series entry, confirming that while an idea exists, Fallout 5 is still a long way off.
Speaking to IGN as part of a Skyrim 10th anniversary retrospective, Howard explained that currently the studio has a "one-pager" for Fallout 5, outlining what it wants to do with the series. However, sci-fi adventure Starfield, due to release next year, and The Elder Scrolls 6 - which was still in its design phase as of June this year - remain the studio's priority, meaning it could be years before work on the next Fallout begins in earnest.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is a rollercoaster ride through the hills and valleys of World War II. The game is strictly linear, funneling you from one combat encounter as you relive the moments that defined the careers of each member of your squad. That on-rails structure makes it all the more confusing when Vanguard throws a wrench in the works, as the game does at the beginning of the early mission Operation Tonga.
In Operation Tonga, you play as Arthur Kingsley, during the British Sixth Airborne Division's assault on Normandy on D-Day. While parachuting into France, Kingsley loses his equipment, save for a knife, and must proceed to kill some Nazis without his typical Nazi-killing gear. You might be expecting a simple stealth section, but the encounter that opens the level is deeply confusing. With a handful of armed Nazis and dogs that deal out one-hit kills, Operation Tonga punishes wrong moves so aggressively that you may be wondering if there is a right way forward.
Good news: there is! But, it took us a little bit of experimentation to find a route through the first section of the level that worked consistently. If you're having the same trouble, read on below.
As this level begins, you emerge from the water into an open field with a downed tree in the middle. To your right, you should see a path that leads up into the woods. You can ignore that for now. In front of you, Nazis are beginning to arrive in jeeps. In the next minute, they will begin patrolling the area with a German Shepherd. Before they get out of their cars, move around the tree to reach the bush near the fence where the Nazis enter the field. Frame your view so that you have a little window out of the bush. A Nazi with a flashlight will approach and notice you. When the prompt appears, stab him and take his gun. Then run to the other side of the tree, taking out the dog before it can attack you.
Today Kyoto-based independent developer Q-Games made a rather surprising announcement about its PS4 game The Tomorrow Children.
If you’re unfamiliar with the title, it launched for PS4 directly under Sony Interactive Entertainment almost exactly five years ago in October 2016. While it was very impressive due in part to its beautiful and unique visuals, it only lasted about a year before being closed at the end of 2017.
Being an online game, this meant that the game was completely lost… until now. In a surprising move, Sony Interactive Entertainment has agreed to return the IP to its original creators at Q-Games, led by veteran developer Dylan Cuthbert, who also directed The Tomorrow Children.
While the terms of the deal have not been disclosed, the studio is now working to rebuild and tweak the game in preparation for a relaunch. Those who want to follow along can sign up for a dedicated newsletter.
“The Tomorrow Children was originally released by SIE almost exactly five years ago as a free to play online title, showcasing an unorthodox rendering technology called Voxel Cone Tracing, large scale cooperative gameplay and a futuristic world setting like no other. Despite having a large number of fans worldwide clocking up hundreds of hours each, the game was taken offline just one year later and has not been playable by the public ever since.
Following its official Android launch last week, Netflix's fledging video games service is now rolling out for iOS, and should appear in-app from tomorrow, 10th November.
Netflix announced its intention to expand into gaming back in July, explaining it would initially focus its efforts on titles for mobile devices.
A recent tweet from a Playground Games developer has revealed that the studio's reboot of Fable has been in development for over four years already.
Tom Gaulton, a lead engineer at Playground Games, celebrated his fourth year at the studio on Twitter, expressing his joy at getting to work on Fable throughout that time. This is the first real indication as to how long the game has been in the works at the Microsoft-owned studio, with the game initially revealed in July 2020.

Since Fable's reveal, Playground Games has remained tight-lipped on the reboot, which will be the first entry in the franchise since Fable III in 2014. Lionhead Studios, the initial creators of the series, had been working on Fable Legends up until the studio was closed in 2016. It wasn't long after then that rumors suggested that Playground Games was working on a reboot.
