Microsoft Flight Simulator – Bastia-Poretta Airport Add-On Review (Orbx)

3 years 4 months ago

With many of us unable to travel, it’s nice to virtually visit holiday destinations, albeit virtually. Orbx’s newest airport add-on Bastia-Poretta (LFKB) for Microsoft Flight Simulator is perfect for this purpose.

The airport is located in Corsica, France, and it sees a lot of international seasonal traffic on top of regular flights from domestic destinations. Of course, it also involves plenty of general aviation activity.

It’s located in an absolutely gorgeous area on the north-eastern coast of Corsica with a lovely approach passing by stunning mountains facing the sea. This makes the airport attractive even before we take a look at the specific scenery.

The add-on is available on Orbx’s own store for about $19 and can be easily and quickly installed via the developer’s Orbx Central client.

If you’d like to check out the airport in detail, you can enjoy a video below, alongside a second at the bottom of the review showcasing night lighting, rain, and snow. A third video shows an approach to Runway 34’s ILS Z.

Nippon Ichi Announces Fuu Raiki 4 for PS4 & Switch Bringing Back the Travel Adventure Series

3 years 4 months ago

Today Nippon Ichi Software and FOG announced Fuu Raiki 4 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

I would be surprised if the name, which translates as “Wind and Rain,” proved familiar for more than handful of you.

This is the fourth chapter of a series by Tokyo-based developer FOG focusing on road trips and romance.

The series debuted in 2001 for the original PlayStation, letting the player explore the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido.

The second game for PS2 brought us to Okinawa in 2005, while the third title went back to Hokkaido in 2013 on PC, followed by a port to PS Vita in 2005.

This new game will let players travel to Gifu prefecture, which is unsurprisingly Nippon Ichi’s home region.

Not unlike Kadokawa Games’ Root Letter series, Fuu Raiki aims to convey the beauty of the prefecture featured, and this time around it’ll combine anime-style characters with real-world imagery shot with a 360-degrees camera.

As I mentioned before, there’s a romance part. While traveling on his bike, the player will meet a variety of girls and interact with them, potentially falling in love.

The game is produced in collaboration with the Gifu Shimbun, providing information on the destination, Yamaha, which produces the protagonist’s MT-10 SP bike, and Arai, which produces the helmets.

You can check out the first trailer of Fuu Raiki 4 below. At the moment, there is no information about a possible western release. If NIS America actually localizes it, I’ll be very, very surprised, but certainly not unhappy.

The release date for Japan is April 22, 2021.

3 years 4 months ago

If you grew up on the playground with Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon, then you likely have some fond memories of the original Yu-Gi-Oh anime. And now you can finally find out which iconic Yu-Gi-Oh character you’re most like with this quiz.

Whether you’re the king of games or just another third-rate duelist, you have an important role to play. Maybe you can’t be as skilled of a duelist as Yami or as smart as Kaiba. But Tristan and Tea still have fantastic qualities that make them unbeatable as friends.

It’s important to note that this quiz will only cover the first two major arcs (Duelist Kingdom and Battle City) of the original Yu-Gi-Oh series since they contain arguably the most iconic characters. That means you won’t see any characters from the virtual world arc or any characters exclusive to the seasons following Battle City.

Once your fate is determined by this Yu-Gi-Oh character quiz, don’t forget to share your results in the comments and on social media. And if you think you’re a huge Yu-Gi-Oh fan, then check out the hardest Yu-Gi-Oh quiz ever to test your knowledge of the original series.

3 years 4 months ago

Fans of the puzzle dating simulator HuniePop have been eagerly waiting for its sequel, HuniePop 2: Double Date, and the game finally almost done.

The developer posted on Twitter announcing that there are only three weeks of work left to do on the game, focusing on audio, balancing, and testing, which will be followed by the wait for Steam’s approval.

Assuming that issues don’t arise, the release should come before Valentine’s Day in 2021.

You can see the official announcement below. Incidentally, the image includes a code for a costume for Jessie that can be unlocked when the game launches.

If you’re unfamiliar with the HuniePop franchise, the first game launched on Steam back in 2015 as a hybrid between a puzzle game, a visual novel, and a dating sim. Despite its rather alluring nature, it drew a lot of attention for its solid puzzle mechanics and the beautiful artwork.

I can also name many classic snow, ice, and winter levels instantly just with a screenshot. Can you? Well, let’s find out.

Microsoft Flight Simulator – Munich Airport Add-On Review (Sim-Wings)

3 years 4 months ago

Despite the fact that Munich Airport (EDDM) is the second-busiest in Germany, the default version in Microsoft Flight Simulator leaves a lot to be desired. Luckily, Sim-Wings just released its own rendition.

The add-on is available on Aerosoft’s store for €21 (plus VAT) and comes with its own handy installer, so you won’t need to fiddle much with files and folders.

The area covered is limited to the airport itself, but this doesn’t mean it’s a small add-on, considering that Munich Airport is absolutely massive.

If you’d like to see what it looks like in detail, you can check out the in-depth flyover video below, showing Munich under every angle, lighting, and weather condition.

The perimeter of the airport is properly fenced and the custom orthographic base blends perfectly with the surrounding while providing just the right amount of detail.

New Raids, Events, & More Are Coming to Pokemon GO in January

3 years 4 months ago

Earlier today, Niantic revealed some new information about their plans for Pokemon GO in January 2021. That means new raids, events, spotlight hours, and much more in Pokemon GO. But first up is the slate of Fire-type Legendary raids that will fill January 2021 in Pokemon GO.

Ho-Oh will start out the month. Then it’ll pass the baton to Genesect holding a Burn Drive. The Bug/Steel Legendary will be followed by Heatran. After that, the pair of Kyogre and Groudon will be back in raids for the first time since GO Fest. And then the month will wrap up with a surprise Pokemon.

If you’ve never played Pokemon Black or White before, then you might be confused about what a Burn Drive is or even what they mean by holding. In the mainline games on consoles and handhelds, Pokemon can hold items during battle that can modify stats, super effective damage, or even the type of an attack.

In Pokemon Black and White, Genesect can hold a Burn (Fire), Shock (Electric), Chill (Ice), or Douse (Water) Drive to modify the type of damage the attack Techno Blast deals. Niantic didn’t reveal how the held item will work or if all Genesect during this time will have Techno Blast.

You can check out the chart below for more details on when you can take part in the Legendary raids next month.

Cyberpunk 2077 Review – Missing Chips

3 years 4 months ago

Cyberpunk Review – PlayStation 4 (Played on PlayStation 5)

Editor’s Note: As stated above, Twinfinite played a PS4 copy of Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 hardware. As a result, our experience is likely to have been markedly different from those attempting to play the game on PS4.

Other staff members have reported serious performance issues on previous console generation hardware that are still very problematic at the time of publishing. If you’re reading this you should consider this review a look into how Cyberpunk 2077 plays when played on hardware that is able to properly run it.

This review and the score the follows only considers the Cyberpunk 2077 experience playing on PS5. It is our recommendation that you avoid playing Cyberpunk 2077 on last-gen hardware entirely until updates are made to improve performance.

The memory of watching Cyberpunk 2077’s first gameplay presentation at E3 2018 is one I’ve thought of frequently over the past few weeks. Vertical slices so often promise a level of perfection rarely achieved in the final product, but what had intrigued me back then wasn’t so much what I had seen of Night City’s tremendous scale and density but the glue I hoped would hold it all together.

The reality, though, is that while Night City’s dystopian labyrinth of dingy streets and towering skyscrapers deliver a breathtaking spectacle, it too often feels as though it’s held together with string and tape.

Even when it’s firing on all cylinders, it never truly exists and reacts in the way I’d hoped as the next big open-world from CD Projekt Red, the master craftsmen behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Microsoft Flight Simulator – Paris Orly Airport Add-On Review (JetStream Designs)

3 years 4 months ago

While Paris Orly (LFPO) may not be as glamorous as its bigger brother Charles de Gaulle, it’s a very important airport in the French aviation landscape, and the folks at JetStream Designs just released its rendition for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The add-on is priced at $24 on SimMarket and installs via the Contrail client, so getting everything ready is fairly painless.

It covers the area of the airport and its immediate vicinity, including a few additional buildings (you can’t have France without Fnac) to help blend the scenery better with its surrounding. Even the famous Concorde parked close to the threshold of runway 2 is included.

The whole perimeter of the airport is correctly fenced, which is always a nice touch. Airports are some of the most heavily-secured facilities in the world, and seeing them with no fences always makes me frown a bit.

If you’d like to see what it looks like in detail, you can check out the in-depth flyover video below, showing Orly under every angle, lighting, and weather condition.

Today Xseed games released a new video showing off its releases for 2020 and teasing new games for 2021.

Interestingly, in the end, we get to see the logos of Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, Rune Factory 5, Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound and Debriefed, and Potionomics, alongside what appears to be the tease for two additional games for 2021.

The accompanying press release also teases surprises. by way of president Ken Berry.

“This was an incredible year for us, and represents one of the more diverse lineup of games we’ve had. Between being able to release titles long in development to releasing fresh surprises, we hope that our games have helped people stay entertained through what has been a challenging year. We want to thank our fans for all their support and we look forward to a new year, and new surprises.”

We hear that “exciting new titles” will be announced in the coming months.

Stardew Valley’s Biggest Update, Version 1.5, Is Available Now on PC

3 years 4 months ago

Stardew Valley’s long-waited version 1.5—the game’s biggest update yet—is available to download now for PC. The update will be coming to consoles and mobile in early 2021.

This update adds significant content to the popular farming simulation game, including “late game” additions.

We’ll share a few of the new Stardew Valley content here in a spoiler-free way, as outlined by developer ConcernedApe’s latest blog post, as well as a link to the full changelog.

First, there are additional options available if you are starting a new game. Most notably, there’s a new farm option called “Beach Farm” that is good for fishing and foraging with a chance for rare supply crate to wash up on shore

For new games, there are also now advanced options that you can set to do things like randomize community center bundles for a harder playthrough.

The next big addition is the inclusion of splitscreen co-op. You could previously share a farm with other players online, but now you’ll be able to share one locally.

ConcernedApe also shared in his blog post a list of spoiler-free additions you can expect in this update:

Husky Raid Uses Stasis to Create Another Classic Destiny Music Video

3 years 4 months ago

Every year I look forward to (hopefully) getting another Husky Raid Destiny dance video. That may sound strange to the uninitiated but this group has been putting together extremely impressive choreographed music videos in Destiny using the game’s emotes and weapons for years now and they just keep getting better.

This year, unsurprisingly, they make heavy use of Stasis’s icy powers to create a winter and holiday themed video taking place on the Cosmodrome and Europa. Check out it below for some laughs.

Whether you like Destiny or not, you just have to marvel at the effort it must take to put together these videos each time. I was floored by the double Titan bubble and glaciers making a snowman.

As usual it’s excellent stuff. If you want to see more of their “Saw Something Weird” series of music videos, you can do so right here. For me it’s hard to top MJ & Thriller from D1 on the Moon.
