Naruto Hokages Explained: Meaning, All Hokages, & More

1 year 11 months ago

Naruto’s ambition to become Hokage is a central narrative thread throughout the long-running anime series. But just what exactly is a Hokage, and how is a new one chosen? Let’s take a look at the title in closer detail and explain everything you need to know about Hokages in Naruto.

What Is a Hokage in naruto?

The Hokage (literal meaning: fire shadow) is, specifically, the Kage of Konohagakure. A Kage (literal meaning: shadow) is the leader of one of the Five Great Shinobi Countries’ hidden ninja villages, each of which corresponds to the dominant chakra nature of those areas (Earth, Lightning, Water, Wind, and Konohagakure’s Fire, hence fire shadow).

The Hokage is responsible for the day-to-day affairs of the village of Konoha, assigning missions to its ninja and securing funding for its projects or personnel. They very rarely leave their village, except during times of great need.

Hokage is not a hereditary title, and each new Hokage is chosen by the previous leader of the village.

V Rising’s New Patch Addresses Stair Issues, Devs to Focus on Bug Fixes & Optimization Before Pushing New Content

1 year 11 months ago

Stunlock Studios’ V Rising has already enjoyed massive success with over one million copies sold, and that success has given Stunlock plenty of data to work with. The feedback and data will figure heavily into the future of the game as the studio shares more about the upcoming roadmap for V Rising.

“Opening into Early Access is the first step we’re taking on the misty road to the game’s full release,” Stunlock said in a new blog post. “Many journeys have a set path, a road with a clear destination. While we certainly have our goal in mind for V Rising, our path is not all set.”

The current focus will remain on “bug fixes, balance changes, server optimization, and quality of life improvements” before the team starts analyzing all of the data and feedback garnered from the past few weeks to further refine their scope.

“The massive support V Rising received will not only give us the opportunity to finalize our plans for the game, but it will also give us enough time to include some of your darkest dreams of what the experience can look like at the full release,” the blog post stated further.

As for content, there will certainly be more coming players’ way, such as weapons, loot, and even more V Blood Bosses, but that will rightfully take time to come. As such, we can expect fewer dev updates as the team focus on creating more and fixing the issues that players float up.

This can be seen in the latest 0.5.41591 patch for V Rising, which ensures that players will no longer fumble about trying to find stairs to build for their spooky castles. “Stairs have been added to the Castle Floors Tab in the Build Menu to make it easier for players to find them,” the notes read.

Drainus review - the most spectacular side-scrolling shooter since Gradius 5

1 year 11 months ago

Old school shooters have always been where you'll find video games at their most direct, and the genre's side-scrolling subset is where you go to see them at their most stately and spectacular. Konami's Scramble kickstarted the form in 1982 before it evolved into the atmospheric masterpiece Gradius, while Taito brought to the genre a cinematic scope with the three-screen spectacle of Darius. With complex scoring mechanics not so much of a concern there's a joyful simplicity to the action, matched by pure-hearted sci-fi panoramas that make these games spaced out thrill rides. It's why I love them so dearly, anyway.

It's always lovely to come across fellow enthusiasts, and developer Team Ladybug's passion for the genre shines clearly throughout the somewhat unfortunately named Drainus - the moniker a nod to the grand dames of the side-scrolling shooter genre that provide the big inspiration that would be adorable if it didn't also sound like a synonym for taking a dump. Still, silly names have never stopped shooting games in the past and they certainly don’t dent what’s a fine effort here.

Indeed, so lush is the spectacle of Drainus that it puts a fine argument forward for being the best of its sort since Treasure’s Gradius 5 - there’s that same inventiveness to Drainus, the same spark in its environmental puzzles that occasionally throw little physics-based mechanisms for you to unlock and the same wit in its multi-staged screen-filling bosses.

New FFVII Remake Art Drop Details the Beginner’s Hall

1 year 11 months ago

FFVII Remake Art

The latest dose of Final Fantasy VII Remake art sheds light on a key location from Midgar's Sector 7 Slums: The Beginner's Hall. The official FFVII Remake account shared art of the building on Twitter, as well as some insights into the art team's adaptation efforts.

[gallery ids="928536,928537,928538,928539" link="file"]

According to the insights shared by the account, the team aimed to recreate the messy, cluttered feeling of the original game location in FFVII Remake. The art shows a considerably expanded space compared with the PS1 version. As a full-3D game featuring realistic proportions and scales, recreating the building exactly wouldn't have been feasible. Instead, the Remake version of the Beginner's Hall is a larger structure, and not as obviously vertical. Distinctive touches from the old version like exposed red steel girders and a unique pair of banners are retained. Similarly, the overall structure of the hall is largely the same, with a weapon shop on the ground floor and a storage room full of crates on the second floor.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force News Coming in Late June

1 year 11 months ago

Today Square Enix announced that news about Star Ocean: The Divine Force will come in late June.

The game (which is simply called Star Ocean 6 in Japan) was announced back in October 2021, but apparently, it’s taking longer than expected in the oven.

The publisher took to Twitter to announce that it was expected to release in the spring of 2022, but the developers are sorry to keep the fans waiting. They’re currently preparing for the next information reveal in late June. They’re working diligently to meet our expectations and they would appreciate our patience.

Interestingly, Square Enix has not yet announced its own traditional June showcase but considering that we’re also waiting for a reveal for Final Fantasy XVI, the possibility of an event is not out of the question. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Madison: Hands-On Preview

1 year 11 months ago

The landscape for video game psychological horror changed forever in 2014 when P.T., the interactive teaser for a Silent Hill game that never came, arrived on the PlayStation Store. Since then there’s been an overwhelming amount of similar games released, ranging from direct clones to the creatively inspired. Fortunately, from what I’ve seen so far of Madison — the latest horror game in this unnerving lineage — has just enough unique ideas to creep terrifyingly into the latter.

Much like P.T., Madison is a first-person psychological horror set within the now-familiar surroundings of an oddly designed home, its rooms tormented by general horribleness. You play as Luca, a helpless and terrified protagonist exploring his now haunted family home armed only with a Polaroid camera.

Diablo: Immortal Won't Launch in Belgium and the Netherlands Due to Lootbox Laws

1 year 11 months ago

Diablo: Immortal will no longer be released in Belgium or the Netherlands due to lootboxes being illegal in both countries.

The long-awaited mobile (and now PC) game finally arrives on June 2 but developer Activision Blizzard cancelled the launch in the two European countries just days before their release date.

As reported by gamesindustry.biz and confirmed to Eurogamer, Diablo Immortal will not be available there due to "the current operating conditions in these countries", as Belgium and the Netherlands both deem lootboxes to be gambling and they're therefore illegal.

"Diablo Immortal will not be available in Belgium or the Netherlands, and will not appear on Battle.net or the Belgian and Netherlands App or Google Play Stores," a spokesperson told Eurogamer.

The ban was placed in 2018 and is essentially only intended to affect loot boxes that have contents which can be sold for money.

Genshin Impact Yelan Collected Miscellany Breaks Down Skills

1 year 11 months ago

Yelan Genshin Impact Collected Miscellany

With the arrival of Genshin Impact Version 2.7, players now have the opportunity to obtain Yelan. She is an entirely new character that has appeared through the update. And to coincide with her arrival, HoYoverse (also known as miHoYo) has shared a Collected Miscellany video breaking down her skills. This includes information as to how players will potentially want to build this character. As it dives into details concerning how her damage will be distributed through her attacks.

Yelan is a Hydro Bow user. Her standard attack can be charged, which will allow for players to aim more precisely and will deal more damage. Additionally, a fully charged attack will deal Hydro damage on impact. Players can utilize the Breakdown effect, which can decrease the charging time of her charged attack. If players allow this to charge, it will empower her strike with a Breakthrough Barb. This will deal AoE Hydro damage that scales based on Yelan's max HP.

How to Get Naku Weed in Genshin Impact

1 year 11 months ago

Genshin Impact 2.6 was an impressive update for the community as it introduced the Inazuma region packed with many new quests, NPCs, materials, and more. The new region also featured a brand new plant called Naku Weed, an ascension material used to level up Genshin Impact characters and weapons. It’s no secret that farming resources is a bit of a tricky task in the world of Tevyat, which is why many players are having a hard time getting Naku Weed too. Therefore, the guide below provides the complete breakdown of Naku Weed locations in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact: Naku Weed Locations

Genshin Impact: Naku Weed Locations

Naku Weed is a purple plant found across all three zones of Genshin Impact‘s Inazuma region. However, the best place to farm Naku Weed is near and inside the Grand Narukami Shrine. On top of that, Naku Weed usually grows along cliffsides and riverbeds, specifically close to Balethunder anomalies. Players would be able to farm 50 Naku Weed while exploring this location.

How to Get Runic Fang in Genshin Impact

1 year 11 months ago

Runic Fang is an ascension material in Genshin Impact that is required to level up characters and make them more powerful. However, it is hard to get, so players who need it should prepare to put the work in. Anyone looking to ascend Yelan to higher levels will need to farm up quite a bit of this resource.

At the moment, Yelan is the only character who uses Runic Fang as an ascension material, and it is not needed for any weapon ascensions either. In this guide, we will show you where to get Runic Fang in case you want to start farming it before you roll for the character.

Where to farm Runic Fang in Genshin Impact

Runic Fang can only be obtained in one place in Genshin Impact, and that is by taking on Level 30 or higher Ruin Serpents. The Ruin Serpent is the area boss in The Serpent’s Cave in the Chasm that can be found in Liyue.

Matchpoint - Tennis Championships: The First Preview

1 year 11 months ago

How long has it been since the release of the last truly great tennis game? Allow me to put it into some perspective: when Top Spin 4 came out in 2011, Ash Barty was a teenager still playing junior tennis tournaments. Cut to the present day and she’s won three grand slams, reached the women’s world number one ranking, and retired from the sport altogether -- and still the wait continues for a high quality serve and volley simulation to emerge as the heir to Top Spin 4’s throne. Matchpoint - Tennis Championships is the latest contender, and although it may be slightly lacking in terms of licensing and customisation, it certainly seems to have a lot of potential where it really counts -- out on the court.

Matchpoint just feels good in the hand. The controls are uncluttered and feel extremely responsive, and it only took me a couple of matches on the default semi-pro difficulty to get a good handle on balancing the energetic dashes and pivots of my player with the more subtle steering of the shot reticle. Each point played is also satisfyingly fluid; developer Torus Games claims that over 1,300 unique motion-capture animations are being employed and it shows, there’s a seamlessness between shots that imbues Matchpoint’s rallies with a level of realism that’s been lacking in other tennis games in recent years.

An announcement trailer on Square Enix's YouTube channel also shows two minutes of gameplay and cutscenes from the game, giving fans a look and listen at the aforementioned graphics, art, and music.

In our 6/10 review of the remake, IGN said: "Fans of the SaGA series will be delighted by the countless hours of gameplay, endless replay value and vast array of choices at their fingertips, while newcomers will likely be overwhelmed and frustrated with the lack of direction and character development."
