Rockstar's Bully gets Unreal Engine 5 fan remake

1 year 9 months ago

Many have hoped Rockstar will one day release a Bully remake or sequel, but currently these hopes seem unlikely to bear fruit.

Now, however, a fan has taken matters into their own hands, and remade a trailer for the game in Unreal Engine 5, bringing it into the modern age.

YouTube channel TeaserPlays, a "Graphics Designer studio", has released its vision of Bully today (thanks, Dexerto).

FTC objects to Meta purchase of Within

1 year 9 months ago

Meta's string of VR acquisitions has hit a snag, as the Federal Trade Commission today announced it wants to block the Facebook parent company and CEO Mark Zuckerberg from acquiring Within, the maker of the VR fitness app Supernatural.

"Instead of competing on the merits, Meta is trying to buy its way to the top," FTC Bureau of Competition deputy director John Newman said. "Meta already owns a best-selling virtual reality fitness app, and it had the capabilities to compete even more closely with Within's popular Supernatural app. But Meta chose to buy market position instead of earning it on the merits. This is an illegal acquisition, and we will pursue all appropriate relief."

The FTC noted that Meta already owns the top-selling VR device in the Meta Quest and a leading storefront for VR apps in Quest Store, and a stable of the most successful VR developers including Beat Games, and "one of the best-selling apps of all time" in Beat Saber. All of those properties can be traced back to acquisitions made by Meta/Facebook, dating back to the 2014 acquisition of Oculus for $2 billion.

Players Requested to Avoid Posting Digimon Survive Spoilers

1 year 9 months ago

digimon survive ch 5

The Twitter account for Digimon games Tweeted out a request for players to avoid posting about story content past Chapter 5 of Digimon Survive. Players will be free to talk about events past Chapter 5 two months after the release of Digimon Survive. That means you will be able to freely post about the whole game from September 29, 2022. This is so all players will have an equal opportunity to enjoy Digimon Survive for the first time.

That is not to say players are completely unable to talk about the entirety of the game. The Twitter account says they are free to do so if they make it clear their post contains spoilers, such as with hashtags. Spoiler hashtags on social media are often used by spoiler-averse players to filter that sort of content from their feeds. Bandai Namco didn't specify if it would take any enforcement action against spoilers (such as via takedown requests).

https://twitter.com/digimon_games/status/1552338028353437696

Requests like this are not new in the game industry. For example, Spike Chunsoft has requested that streamers and those posting on social media to avoid posting videos showing what happens after Chapter 1 of the Danganronpa games. The game also automatically prevents players from taking screenshots or videos past Chapter 1.

Last night's dip into GTA Online's Operation Paper Trail missions was surprisingly chilling

1 year 9 months ago

My wife plays GTA Online a couple of times a week. It's not hard to see why she's stuck with it. Rockstar's endlessly unspooling criminal playground is weird and sometimes creaky, but it's still beautiful - no other company has captured the rosy opioid bloom of LA light like this - and it's still fun. More than anything, it's unpredictable: whenever you go into GTA Online, you always come out with some kind of story.

Last night Sarah was busy, so I fired it up alone. I wanted to check out the new GTA Online Criminal Enterprises update. But this is important for what follows: I don't regularly play the game myself. I watch it from the sofa a lot, but I almost never pick up the controller.

Criminal Enterprises brings quite a lot to GTA Online as far as I can tell. New weapons and new vehicles are just the start of it. There's also a suite of story missions, though, and this is what I was interested in.

A Sims 4 Bug Is Aging Toddlers Into Seniors in Minutes

1 year 9 months ago
A Sims 4 bug is causing players' Sims to age incredibly quickly, skipping birthdays and progressing from a toddler to a senior in mere minutes.

As reported by PC Gamer, a new update that added several features, including the ability to designate Sims' sexual orientation, also brought with it this bizarre bug.

Only players using the "short" and "long" lifespan options for their Sims appear to be experiencing the super-fast aging, with those on the "normal" setting seemingly unaffected.

Twitter user @windyroses_ (above) said that, after ten minutes of playing, "kids are teens and young adults are almost elders". The age progression happened without the usual birthday notifications, and even pets were reportedly over-aging and dying.

Death is coming quickly in The Sims 4, after update adds ageing glitch

1 year 9 months ago

The death of a sim can be an emotional time. The Grim Reaper shows up with his scythe in hand, the family gathers around to send their loved one off, and a period of mourning descends upon the house. But, if a Sim has lived a good, long life, this can also be a chance for celebration in recognition of time well spent.

However, a new glitch was accidentally introduced in a recent update for The Sims 4, and it is fast tracking this whole process. This means that some elderly sims have been dropping dead well before their time. As well as this, children are rapidly becoming teens, teens becoming young adults and so on.

Players are reporting this all happening after a visit to create-a-sim (CAS), or during the loading screens. This is even when the game's "Long Lifespan" is enabled.

In fact, managers have reportedly been promising for four years that excessive overtime will not be required to finish the game.

Lord Winklebottom Investigates review: a dapper murder mystery with not enough detective work

1 year 9 months ago

Hear me out a minute. Imagine Sherlock Holmes, but instead of a pompous eccentric, he’s a well-mannered, top hat-wearing... giraffe. And in replacement of his partner John Watson, there was instead a plump hippo in a dapper suit who is constantly quaffing tea. No, you've not accidentally picked up the famous detective’s opium huffing habit, these two curious characters are Sherlock and Watson’s animal counterparts in zoological adventure Lord Winklebottom Investigates.

The plucky duo, gentleman giraffe Lord Winklebottom and Doctor Frumple the hippo, have been invited to a mysterious island to sit in on a special announcement only to arrive and, by George! There’s been a bleeding murder! It’s a point-and-click affair where you use Talk/Use/Look actions to interact with the environment while also dragging and dropping things from your inventory bar into the world to use them. It’s classic point-and-click through and through.

No Man's Sky - an ever-expanding universe of wonder

1 year 9 months ago

There I am, admiring a particularly luminescent blue tuber in my hydroponic garden, when an alarm begins to blare. Pirates, raiding from the skies! A minor inconvenience, sure, but one worth dealing with swiftly, so I hop on Blort - my trusty translucent pet sphere - and roll purposefully, if not exactly speedily, toward the throbbing heft of my organic ship, the whir of a friendly robot drone jabbering somewhere behind me.

And then it's up, up, up, we go, past my newly renovated capital ship and its armada of frigates (the latest addition, a pulsating tentacled mass, wiggles encouragingly), past a space station recently commandeered by pirates, and then, with a little more room to manoeuvre, it's time to do my worst. Within seconds the pirate threat is no more and peace, for now at least, is restored. Before I go home, though, I summon the imposing hulk of the inter-dimensional Space Anomaly and head in for a friendly rendezvous. Cake has been promised.

No Man's sky has, it's fair to say, come a long, long way since its undoubtedly controversial launch in 2016. What was once a game of low-key, curiosity-driven exploration across a beautiful, often haunting, procedurally generated universe has morphed into something far bigger, far bolder, and, I think, after countless revisions and refinements, quite brilliant indeed.

You can take your cars to toy town after Gran Turismo 7's new update

1 year 9 months ago

Gran Turismo 7's July patch has squeaked in just before the month is up, bringing three new cars to the ever-expanding roster in the free update - and this update brings a little bit more besides.

The cars are a fine selection, led by another Skyline but a pretty special one at that - the Group 5 Skyline Super Silhouette, a brilliantly boxy racing beast that terrorised race tracks in the 80s. If you prefer your cars with a few more curves then there's a Maserati A6GCS/53 Spyder, an early example from the Italian manufacturer that established many of the styling cues that remain to this day. Finally there's a Porsche 918 Spyder, a hypercar that's been notable in its absence from recent Gran Turismo games.

That's all well and good, but the real star of the update is excused by the Tomica sponsorship carried on that Skyline Super Silhouette with an update to the Scapes photo mode allowing you to take your cars to toy towns and pose for snaps. It's not quite Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels, but it's a fun new feature nevertheless.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force Gets New Trailer & Screenshots Revealing DUMA & Its Gameplay Mechanics

1 year 9 months ago

Today Square Enix released a new trailer and screenshots of the upcoming Star Ocean JRPG Star Ocean: The Divine Force.

We get to meet “DUMA,” a mysterious entity with advanced intelligence and consciousness. It’s associated with the serial number 004213 and it looks like a machine, but it’s actually a life form. Its purpose is unknown, but it decides to accompany the heroes for some reason.

DUMA can grant supernatural abilities to each person it accompanies. A typical DUMA ability is “Vanguard Assault” (VA for short).

Vanguad Assault grants aerial movement, allowing characters to fly at high speed in any direction both in the field and within a city. It can be used repeatedly and can help you find hidden objects.

There are crystals scattered around the world that can help DUMA grow. Finding and collecting them will give you an edge.

DUMA can also use “Field Scan” simplifying greatly the search for hidden items across the field, which would otherwise be very challenging to spot.

You can also use VA Attack. Holding the appropriate button makes your character levitate and releasing it lets you perform a flying attack that can deal a lot of damage.

Blind Side attacks let you dash out of the enemy’s field of view and then suddenlòy change direction executing a VA Attack. This stuns the enemy and increases damage further.

The Hate Radar lets you see the field of view of the enemies and their direction of attack, showing a path for your Blind Side attacks.

There are enemies with a wide field of view that usually cannot be blindsided, but you can restrict it by meeting certain conditions.

You can also perform a VA attack before the battle begins. If you can hit an enemy while it’s unaware, you will receive a “Surprise Attack Bonus.”

Warzone: How To Fix ‘Lost Connection To Host/Server. Connection Timed Out.’ In Golden Plunder

1 year 9 months ago

Many players are hopping into a match of Golden Plunder in Call of Duty: Warzone, only to be kicked out shortly after. Before they can start up another match, an error appears stating that there’s an issue with the server or host. If you are receiving that message, here’s what you can do to fix the ‘Lost Connection To Host/Server. Connection Timed Out’ error in Golden Plunder.

Warzone: How To Fix ‘Lost Connection To Host/Server. Connection Timed Out.’ In Golden Plunder

Check Warzone’s Server Status

The first move you’ll want to make is checking if Warzone’s servers are currently down. This is especially helpful if you’re receiving the error in game modes other than Golden Plunder. Activision has an official site that lists outages and the server status for each platform Warzone is available on.

  1. Visit Warzone’s official Online Services page.
  2. Under ‘Server Status By Network,’ choose the platform you’re playing on.
  3. Double-check that the platform’s servers are up and running.

Reset Your Modem/Router

If Warzone’s servers are running just fine, the next solution is restarting your modem and router. This should dump any and all temporary files, along with any errors that may have piled up over time. In fact, you should make a regular habit of this every few months.

Fix ‘Last Line No Longer Available’ on iPhone 13

1 year 9 months ago

You’re trying to make a call on your iPhone 13 and all of a sudden a box pops up stating ‘Last Line No Longer Available.’ That’s strange. Your iPhone 13 was just working a moment ago. What’s going on and why is error appearing? Here’s what you can do to fix ‘Last Line No Longer Available’ on iPhone 13 and what it means.

Fix ‘Last Line No Longer Available’ on iPhone 13

Update Your iOS Device

It goes without saying that many errors can be solved with a simple update. After all, Apple devices aren’t perfect. There may have been enough of an uproar over a recent bug causing the issue that Apple quickly released an update to fix it.

  1. Open Settings and go to General.
  2. Now select Software Update.
  3. Select Download and Install.
  4. Go back to Settings and pick General again.
  5. Choose About, then allow any update available.

If that fails, force a restart. Depending on your iPhone model, it’s either a combination of holding the Power button and the Volume Down button or the Power button and the Home button.

Enable and Disable Airplane Mode

One strange but possible solution is using Airplane Mode. What it does, when enabled, is prevent your iPhone from sending or receiving messages, calls, and even the browser. Using it is a great way of performing a soft reset of sorts for the network.

Report: Grand Theft Auto VI Could Feature A Female Protagonist And Bonnie And Clyde Vibe

1 year 9 months ago

Grand Theft Auto VI could introduce the series' first female lead. This possibility comes from an extensive report into Rockstar Games by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier. This female character of note is said to be Latina and will be one of two protagonists inspired by bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde.

The report also sheds light on the tone players might experience in Grand Theft Auto VI. "Developers are also being cautious not to 'punch down' by making jokes about marginalized groups, the people said, in contrast to previous games," Schreier writes.

Grand Theft Auto VI's codename is supposedly Project Americas. The game is to be "more vast" than any other entry in the series. Earlier designs suggested the map would cover sections of North and South America, but that vision is said to be reduced to a large version of Miami (likely called Vice City in the game).

Schreier's sources say that new missions and cities will be added over time after the game launches. As development proceeds, Rockstar is working to reduce employee hours and crunch. The majority of the report details Rockstar's internal changes, which include a more inclusive office culture, the narrowing of the gender pay gap, and overall improvements to working conditions. Morale within the company is said to be better than ever, according to several Rockstar staffers.

But I can’t stop playing Rollerdrome.

Instead of writing, I once again queue the Barbican Arena competition, the last leg in my six-level demo. The level begins in a long, claustrophobic tunnel lit in red light. I have everything I need – rollerskates and a shotgun – to put on the show of a lifetime. Ahead of me are echoes of a crowd clapping in unison, an ominous metronome inviting me further past the steel-latched mouth of the arena. They paid for a show, and I’m going to give it to them.

The first thing you can do is update your mods in The Sims 4 because these files often cause corruption within your game when it doesn’t have the latest version. Additionally, you should back up your saves just in case something goes wrong.

If you are tired of consistently updating these mods, you can find one that automatically does this for you or add on an application that also features this.

Another option you can do is to repair the game within the Origins store. To do this, you must go into your ‘My Game Library’ and right-click on The Sims 4, where the ‘repair’ option will be.

Once everything loads up, check the boxes ‘Enable Custom Content and Mods’ and the ‘Script Mods Allowed’ in the Options menu, which requires you to close and re-open the game (if you have mods on The Sims 4.)

How To Get Debug Items in The Sims 4

1 year 9 months ago

Get Debug Items in The Sims 4 is a pretty important part of playing this life sim, as there are a ton of items that can be seen but aren’t available for your Sim to use or purchase in the game. It is important to note that prior to unlocking debugs that these items require cheats. On console, using cheats will stop your trophy progress. With that in mind, let’s dive right in.

How to Get Debug Items on PC

In order to gain access to Debug Items on PC, you first need to enable cheats. To do that:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + C
  • Type in ‘testingcheats true’ and then press enter

Now that cheats are enabled, you’ll have to type in two different codes.

  • The first code is “bb.showhiddenobjects” and then press enter
  • The second code is “bb.showliveeditobjects” and press enter again

Once you complete the above steps, you can exit the cheats menu. Head on over to the build/buy shop and search “debug”. The items that were previously hidden will now be available and are marked with **Debug**.

How to Get Debug Items on Console

On console, the process is similar. However, when activating the cheats, the game will alert you that trophy achievement will not be saved.

  • Press all four shoulder buttons on your controller, “L1 + L2 + R1 + R2” on Playstation or “LB + LT + RB + RT” on Xbox
  • Enter “testingcheats true” and followed by pressing “A” on Xbox or “X” on Playstation
  • The game will alert you that trophies will not be available on your current save. Press OK

Provided you accepted the previous condition:

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Game for PS4 & Nintendo Switch Gets New Gameplay Trailer

1 year 9 months ago

Today Aksys Games released a new trailer of the Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid shoot ’em up by Bushiroad titled Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Burst Forth!! Choro-gon Breath.

The trailer shows the shoot ’em up gameplay in which we see beloved characters Tohru, Kanna, and Elma as they take on a variety of enemies on the ground and in the air in a traditional vertical scrolling bullet hell layout.

They can use a mix of different attacks (ranged, melee, and Choro-gon Breath) and even activate the Raging Spark to obliterate any enemy on the screen.

We also take a look at the localization, which isn’t exactly prevalent in this kind of game, but certainly never hurts.

Of course, other characters from the popular manga and anime appear, including Kobayashi herself and Lucoa.

As you progress in the game, you can also unlock over 30 beautiful illustrations created especially for the game.

You can watch the trailer below.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Burst Forth!! Choro-gon Breath releases on August 25, 2022, for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
