1 year 8 months ago

one piece film red granblue fantasy luffy

Cygames shared more information on the One Piece Film: Red crossover event that will run in Granblue Fantasy. It will launch on September 14 and run until September 25, 2022. The event will grant players two new playable characters, as well as a new summon. There is also a trailer for the event available on YouTube.

Luffy will be a playable character, while Nami and Robin will team up as a single unit. Hijikata and Okita in the Gintama event worked the same way, as do some of the units native to Granblue Fantasy. You can uncap Luffy to unlock two more pieces of artwork for him. Uta also appears as a summon, with Kaori Nazuka reprising her role.

The trailer is part of the Granblue Fantasy live-stream and features voice actor jokes. For reference, Rackam’s voice actor Hiroaki Hirata also voiced Sanji in One Piece. During the trailer, Rackam is a good cook and calls the women of the crew ‘mademoiselles,’ just like Sanji does. Walder is also prominent in the trailer, serving as the sane man to Rackam. Walder’s voice actor Kappei Yamaguchi also voices Usopp in One Piece.

Xbox Series S to Get Performance Boost

1 year 8 months ago

Microsoft recently released a new Xbox software development kit, which gives developers access to more memory. The change should help improve the performance when playing game on Xbox Series S.

As spotted by The Verge, the latest game development kit frees up hundreds of additional megabytes of memory for Xbox Series S game developers. "This gives developers more control over memory, which can improve graphics performance in memory-constrained conditions," Microsoft's Game Dev team noted in the June Game Development Kit video.

While this should help provide a much-needed boost to the Xbox Series S, it will take time for developers to optimize games, and there's no promise games already out on Series S will get a patch to improve their overall performance.

Either way, Microsoft freeing up more memory is a step in the right direction for the console. As Digital Foundry has pointed out, developers have reported the issues with the previous memory limitations on the Series S, which made it harder to optimize games on the system.

How To Restart Valorant Client

1 year 8 months ago

Gamers often forget that video games are made by real people. In the case of Valorant, Riot Games’ developers are rather quick to issue out bug fixes or compatibility issues when they crop up. Sometimes it’s a problem with the game; other times, your own PC had a hiccup, and now you have to restart the game. If you’ve experienced an issue with Valorant, here’s how to restart the Valorant client.

How To Restart Valorant Client

When you’re in the middle of a match and Valorant freezes, the quickest and easiest solution is to press Alt + F4. What this does is immediately shut down the program you are currently tabbed to.

It’s important to ensure that you tabbed to Valorant when you press the key combination; otherwise, you could be closing an important browser or document by accident.

Though this option is indeed the easiest, it doesn’t always work. In the event that Valorant doesn’t close, you’ll have to force quit the client.

Force Quit the Valorant Client

There are some instances, rare as they are, where the Valorant client won’t even respond to the key combination. The number of reasons are a mile long, but it’s almost always due to a background process that is refusing to cooperate. In this case, you’ll want to kill the process.

  1. Right-click on your taskbar or press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.

    Select Task Manager.

You can watch it below.

If you’d like to learn more about The DioField Chronicle, you can check out the original announcementthe first screenshots and plenty of details revealed back in March, alongside a ton of gameplay showcased last week.

Kingdom Hearts Gets 20th Anniversary Video: KH Dark Road’s Final Update Release Date Revealed

1 year 8 months ago

Kingdom Hearts celebrated its 20th anniversary back in March, and to celebrate, Square Enix put on an event in Japan this past April that showcased the series’ past and a bit of its future.

Months after promising that it’ll release a video celebrating the series, the official Kingdom Hearts YouTube account has finally did just that, with it primarily summarising the event from a few months ago.

The video shows notable contributors to the series giving speeches about what the games have meant to them throughout these 20 years. This includes people like series director Tetsuya Nomura and singer-songwriter Hikaru Utada. The clip also includes a montage of all the Kingdom Hearts entries with their release dates, showcasing all the games that have been released over the 20 years.

The video also gives a look at the audience’s reaction to the games that were announced during the event, Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, and most notably, Kingdom Hearts IV.

Finally, we get a brief new look at Kingdom Hearts Dark Road while also revealing that the app will be getting its long-promised final update on Aug. 26.

Kingdom Hearts Dark Road was released over two years ago, attached to Kingdom Hearts Union X, but unfortunately, the app ended its online service last year. The game was set to release its offline version, with its final story update included, back in September 2021 but was delayed to the winter of 2021-2022.

While that didn’t materialize either, the recap video confirms that Kingdom Hearts Dark Road’s final story update will be coming this very month, hopefully with no more delays in sight.

Firaxis developed Marvel's Midnight Suns has been delayed again

1 year 8 months ago

2K has announced a second delay for developer Firaxis' Marvel-themed tactical RPG Midnight Suns. The title will no longer launch this October as previously announced and will instead now arrive on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC at some point before the end of 2K's current fiscal year. Other versions are now "TBA".

Announced last August, Marvel's Midnight Suns is superhero strategy game that - drawing inspiration from the Midnight Sons comic book run of the mid-90s - follows a roster of familiar faces, including the Avengers, on an adventure that blends card-battling turn-based combat and Fire-Emblem-style relationship building.

It was originally due to launch this March, but last November saw Firaxis and 2K make the decision to push its release back toward the end of 2022 in order to "add more story, cinematics and overall polish". June then bought the news that the end was almost in sight, with the game receiving a launch date of 7th October.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns and Unannounced Game Delayed by Take-Two

1 year 8 months ago

Originally scheduled to release on Oct. 7, it has been announced that the upcoming tactical role-playing title Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been delayed. More specifically, the delay has pushed back the Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 to “later this fiscal year” which means sometime before March 2023 while the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions have been pushed back with no targeted date.

The news of the delay comes from the Take-Two Financial Earnings conference call and was shared on the official Marvel’s Midnight Suns Twitter account:

The delay comes as a bit of a downer as this isn’t the first delay the title has received since it’s reveal during Gamescom 2021. As it took a spot on our feature for top ten games releasing later this year, developer Firaxis Games’ commitment to making the “best possible experience ever” is a welcome sight that will keep the hype going.

Digimon Survive Review – A Pretty Prodigious Visual Novel Experience

1 year 8 months ago

Digimon Survive on Nintendo Switch

Digimon Survive has surprised me in more ways than one. When I picked it up, I was excited for a Digimon game more akin to tactical RPGs like Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics with some visual novel elements. However, the game is primarily a visual novel with tactical RPG elements on the side, which was exactly what I was expecting.

While initially taken aback by the genre type, the brief moment of disappointment I felt was quickly washed away by a delightfully dark story, gorgeous presentation, and loads of fan-favorite Digimon to befriend. The more I dug into the game, the more it felt like it was made for people with a connection to the series.

As a novice to the genre, I was worried about how I would feel about the gameplay, especially after a rather slow prologue. But it doesn’t take long for the story to pick up and engross you because by the end of “Part 1,” the mysterious situation our protagonists find themselves in is more than enough to keep you going.

Is Daichi Dead in Haikyuu? Explained

1 year 8 months ago

Haikyuu has it all: friendship, volleyball, and even death. Now we know what you’re thinking, how could this anime possibly feature such an aspect? To answer this, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the sorrowful day that Daichi Sawamura died in Haikyuu.

Is Daichi Dead in Haikyuu?

It all started in Season 2, Episode 16, when Karasuno played in a volleyball match against Wakutani Minami High. During this episode, Coach Ukai fears that this opposing side will cause some trouble for the team, especially with the leadership skills of Captain Takeru Nakashima.

As the game progresses, Ukai’s nervous intuition turns out to be correct when Daichi collides with his fellow teammate, Ryunosuke Tanaka. As a result, the meme “RIP Daichi” was created by fans, causing many others to believe that he actually passed on in Haikyuu.

The truth of the matter is that Daichi didn’t actually die in the anime, and the rumor was purely for amusement. However, this “fatal” event proved difficult for Karasuno, as their captain had to leave the game temporarily, and Chikara Ennoshita had to step in while he recovered.

Here is one of the prominent memes that have been floating around the internet:

Take-Two Expects Almost Half its Sales This Year to Come From Zynga's Mobile Games

1 year 8 months ago

Take-Two has just released its first set of earnings since it fully acquired mobile developer and publisher Zynga, and it looks like mobile is already playing an absolutely massive role in the publisher's future.

Take-Two's net bookings for the quarter were up 41% year-over-year in no small part thanks to Zynga. And recurrent consumer spending was up 48% and accounted for 73% of that total, again largely thanks to Zynga, though NBA 2K22 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands also played a role.

What's more, Take-Two is expecting Zynga to account for a whopping 45% of its total net bookings for the entire fiscal year ending March of 2023, with 2K making up 37%, Rockstar accounting for 17%, and Private Division making up 1%. Admittedly, Take-Two has officially folded in its former T2 Mobile division into Zynga, so it's not all Zynga. But for context, during its previous fiscal year, mobile games accounted for only 12% of Take-Two's net bookings. So this is a pretty massive jump.

In a call with IGN ahead of today's earnings release, CEO Strauss Zelnick affirmed the company's strategy to use its new mobile flexibility to create more mobile spin-offs of its existing IP, assuming the conditions were right.

"The first criterion would be that we have a team that's incredibly passionate about working on that IP and bringing it to mobile. And then of course we'd look at the connection that the historic intellectual property has with an audience, the format in which it would reside, and the like."

Marvel's Midnight Suns Delayed Once Again, Possibly to 2023

1 year 8 months ago

Marvel's Midnight Suns has been delayed a second time, and while it doesn't seem to be a long delay, we're now once again without a clear release date for the Firaxis tactical RPG.

In today's Take-Two earnings results, the publisher revealed that it has moved back the launch of Midnight Suns "to ensure the teams at Firaxis Games and 2K deliver the best possible experience for our fans."

It's expected to arrive "later this fiscal year," which for Take-Two means sometime before March of 2023, but we don't have a specific date yet. Additionally, only PC, PS4, and Xbox Series X and S players will get to jump in on that date - the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions are planned for even later.

Midnight Suns was originally planned for Take-Two's previous fiscal year with a scheduled release this past March. But it was delayed once already, pushing it into October of this year. At the time, it was implied that the delay was at least in part connected to increases in the difficulty of making games as technology has improved.

Speaking to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, he reiterated that this second delay was due to a "search for quality, and a great deal of confidence that we have a wonderful title on our hands and we want to make sure it's as good as it can possibly be." When asked if there was any concern that Midnight Suns would dip out of the fiscal year a second time (aka, get delayed a third time) he replied, "I'm not concerned about that."

Americans: the impeccable Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop is going cheap at Best Buy

1 year 8 months ago

I don't spend a ton of time testing gaming laptops these days, but one of my recent favourites was the Zephyrus G14. This laptop is slim and compact, yet sports a brilliant 14-inch 2560x1600 120Hz display, a powerful RX 6700S graphics card and a top-end Ryzen 9 6900HS processor. This is backed with a 1TB NVMe SSD and 16GB of DDR5 RAM (!!), an impressive loadout that uses basically the fastest and latest-gen components you can fit into a laptop of this size.

Today Best Buy in the US are doing a great price on this spec of the Zephyrus G14, charging $1399.99 for it rather than the launch price of $1649.99 - a $250 reduction. That's the best price we've seen for this model and an awesome deal on a compact yet powerful all-AMD laptop.

AMD's top graphics card is £215 cheaper right now at Scan

Graphics cards are falling in price rapidly, and nowhere is this more true than on the bleeding-edge end of the market. After seeing discounts on AMD's first 6000-series graphics cards last month, we're now also seeing deep cuts to the more recent 6X50 models - including the subject of this piece, the Radeon RX 6950 XT. This particular card is the very fastest that AMD make, and offers rasterised performance on par with Nvidia's RTX 3090 and 3090 Ti.

Today, it's been discounted to £850 at Scan, a big reduction from its original UK RRP of £1065 earlier this year.

Move Over, Stray—This Cat Voice Actor in Saints Row Has Stolen Our Hearts

1 year 8 months ago

Last month, we all fell in love with Lala, the adorable voice actor for the cat in Stray and her excellent purrformance in the game. But it seems that Lala isn’t the only cat voice actor to be featured in a video game this year.

Isabella Gates, also known as Izzy, is a beautiful black and white feline who plays the role of Snickerdoodle in Saints Row, which releases later this month.

The official YouTube channel for Saints Row has been posting videos of cast interviews ahead of the game’s launch, and earlier today, Izzy had her time to shine. The video is incredibly adorable; it features Izzy meowing her responses with helpful subtitles in English for us to understand her.

Snickerdoodle is the pet and mascot of the Saints in the game, and of course, there needed to be an authentic voice behind this character. That’s where Izzy comes in, and in the video, she meows to explain how her “butler” Larry helped her land the role.

The whole “interview” is incredibly cute, so you’ll have to watch it for yourself to get the full effect.

If you’re not familiar with Saints Row, here’s what the developers have to say about the game:

Welcome to Santo Ileso, a vibrant fictional city in the heart of the American SouthWest. In a world rife with crime, where lawless factions fight for power, a group of young friends embark on their own criminal venture, as they rise to the top in their bid to become Self Made.

Experience the biggest and best Saints Row playground ever created; the unique sprawling world of Santo Ileso is the backdrop for a wild, larger than life sandbox of thrilling side hustles, criminal ventures and blockbuster missions, as you shoot, drive, and wingsuit your way to the top.

Can You Save Shuuji in Digimon Survive?

1 year 8 months ago

Digimon Survive can be rather bleak at times; the game handles tones that are far more darker than what many older fans might remember of the Digimon universe. As a visual novel, Digimon Survive weaves choices into the mix, which greatly affects the following events. Party members, for example, can actually die, such as Shuuji. But does he always have to die? Can you save Shuuji in Digimon Survive?

Can You Save Shuuji in Digimon Survive?

The short answer is: yes, you can save Shuuji in Digimon Survive. However, that answer comes with a big asterisk. Shuuji’s death is inevitable during your first playthrough. With that said, his untimely death can be prevented during New Game+.
