Saturnalia | New Gameplay Today

1 year 6 months ago

In this segment of New Gameplay Today, your host, Game Informer Associate Editor Wesley LeBlanc, walks you through how Saturnalia works as both a survival horror game and a roguelike. In it, you'll see him control Anita, one of the game's many playable characters, as she searches for her partner in the small town of Sardinia, Italy.

Unfortunately for Anita, it's not a great time to be in the town because of some strange ritualistic things happening. That translates to a terrifying creature that stalks Anita and others through the darkness of the night and you must avoid it all while remaining alive as you search for clues to end this night of terror and misery.

In the New Gameplay Today segment below, we have more than 15 minutes of brand-new Saturnalia footage to showcase. Enjoy!

Saturnalia is being developed and published by Santa Ragione. It's due out on PC exclusively via the Epic Games Store sometime this year. For more, check out the Saturnalia reveal trailer

Sons of the Forest Delayed to February 2023

1 year 6 months ago

Upcoming survival horror Sons of the Forest has been delayed until next year.

According to developer Endnight Games, the upcoming sequel to The Forest has been pushed back to allow the team to polish the game.

“Due to the scope of our new game Sons Of The Forest, it has been hard to pinpoint an exact release date, and today we have to delay one last time” they stated via Twitter. “Giving us time to complete the polish we feel is needed, we will release Feb 23, 2023, priced at $29.99USD.”

Sons of the Forest promises more unnerving gameplay as a direct sequel to The Forest – the 2014 survival horror that follows the story of Eric LeBlanc – a plane crash survivor who’s forced to fight off cannibalistic monsters while searching for his son, Timmy.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the sequel has been delayed.

Ubisoft Delays Server Shutdown for Older Games Like Assassin's Creed 2 and Far Cry 3

1 year 6 months ago

Ubisoft has delayed the shutdown date of several multiplayer servers for some of its games. The shutdowns were supposed to go into effect on September 1, but now they will stay up for an additional month, shutting down on October 1 instead.

"Decommissioning online services for older games is something we do not take lightly, but it is also a necessity as the technology that drove those services becomes obsolete," Ubisoft says in an update to the original post. "Over the last month, our teams have been hard at work exploring what is possible to reduce disruption."

The games which will continue seeing online services include:

  • Assassin’s Creed II
  • Assassin’s Creed III
  • Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations
  • Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD
  • Driver San Francisco
  • Far Cry 3
  • Ghost Recon Future Soldier
  • Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
  • Rayman Legends
  • Silent Hunter 5
  • Splinter Cell: Blacklist
  • ZombiU

The only exception to the new shutdown date is Space Junkies, which will have its servers turned off on September 1 as planned.

Furthermore, the team over at Ubisoft Mainz will push out an update to Anno 2070 that will upgrade and replace its old servers so players can enjoy the online components.

Can You Replay Missions in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2)? Answered

1 year 6 months ago

Red Dead Redemption 2 features an action-packed story set during the decline of the Wild West, just before the turn of the 20th century. You play as Arthur Morgan, an outlaw with questionable morals, soon forced to face his past. If you’ve experienced the story from start to finish, wouldn’t it be nice to visit your favorite set pieces? Can you replay missions in Red Dead Redemption (RDR)? Answered here are all your burning questions.

Can You Replay Missions in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2)? Answered

Yes, missions in Red Redemption 2 can be replayed. Red Dead Redemption 2 has an individual rating for each mission you complete (just the missions, not the chapters themselves)—the better the rating, the better the medal, a gold medal being the highest.

Other than reliving some of RDR2’s greatest moments, earning a gold medal is the biggest reason for replaying missions, provided you’re an achievement/trophy hunter. With that said, there are a few details you should be aware of when replaying missions:

  • Progress doesn’t carry over into your main save; decisions are made in a vacuum and won’t affect the story.
  • You can replay missions once the mission is completed for the first time.
  • Challenges must be completed in a single run.

How to Replay Missions in Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2)

Keeping the previous information in mind, you’d like to travel back in time and try something different. Here’s how to replay missions:

Not Even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Co-Creator Could Beat That Dam Level

1 year 6 months ago

The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was infamous for its difficult levels, none more than its infamous dam level. It was a stopping point for many frustrated Turtles fans, including one of the franchise's own creators.

In an interview with IGN to promote the new Cowabunga Collection, which brings together more than a dozen of the Turtles' most famous 8 and 16-bit adventures, TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman admitted that he was never quite able to clear the original NES games' second stage.

"[A] lot of times when we would go to conventions back in the day, people would come up to us and be angry with us because they thought we made the game that hard," Eastman remembers. "And we're like, 'We can't win either. We've tried.' I never made it through the water level and I've tried and tried and tried."

Eastman was in good company. The dam level was notorious for its imprecise controls, which practically ensured that the Turtles would take damage, and strict time limit. It required the Turtles to navigate what amounted to an underwater maze while disarming multiple bombs before time ran out. The level has become synonymous with the often unfair difficulty of 8-bit games.

Still, Eastman says he has fond memories of working on the original Konami games, which were published under the Ultra Games label on the NES, calling them games "a universe within itself."

Team Reptile has announced that it has delayed the release of its Jet Set Radio-inspired game, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, to next year.

“About the release: We are convinced that releasing the game this year will not take it to a level where we would be personally satisfied with,” Team Reptile says in a statement on Twitter. “To create a fulfilling and unique game we are extending the development time of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk to summer 2023.”

However, the studio followed up by saying that it will release more visuals of the game this week to show people how development is going.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk was first revealed in 2020 as a successor to Jet set Radio. It will also have music composed by Jet Set Radio's Hideki Naganuma.

In this game, players can ride around with boostpacks and sketch graffiti at high heights.

Sons of the Forest delayed again, now launching in February next year

1 year 6 months ago

Developer Endnight Games has announced "one last" delay for Sons of the Forest, with the horror-survival sequel now set to arrive on 23rd February next year.

Sons of the Forest is the direct sequel to Endnight's well-received The Forest (which got its version 1.0 release in 2018 after four years in early access), a game that combined the survival genre's penchant for scavenging and crafting with a genuinely unnerving horror element as protagonist Eric Leblanc searched the titular, cannibal-infested forest for his son following a harrowing plane crash.

Sons of the Forest, which this time sees players tracking down a missing billionaire on a remote island, was originally due to launch in May this year, but Endnight made the decision to postpone its release to October in order to deliver its "vision of the next step in survival games".

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey Gets Disturbing First Trailer

1 year 6 months ago

Earlier today through the Jagged Edge Productions YouTube channel, horror fans got their first look at Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, a slasher film that sees beloved children’s characters Pooh and his pal Piglet revert into bloodthirsty maniacs long after Christopher Robin has abandoned them.

This version of the classic tale sees Robin setting off to college, but not before returning to check in on his old friends. Unfortunately, things take a very brutal turn not long after. You can check out the trailer in all its gory glory below.

Suffice to say, the trailer doesn’t leave too much to the imagination. That said, how did this project come to be in the first place? Well, back on Jan. 1, 2022, A.A. Milne’s classic Winnie-the-Pooh story fell into the public domain. Just five months later, Variety reported that writer/director Rhys Waterfield had actually already wrapped production on the film. Speaking on it back in May, Waterfield offered up details on the plot:

Ubisoft’s Rocksmith Plus Launches on PC Next Week, Console Releases to Come Later

1 year 6 months ago

Rocksmith Plus was unveiled months ago, and it looks like Ubisoft is finally ready for the game’s PC launch next week. The company has just announced that it’ll be releasing on PC on Sept. 6, allowing players to plug in their guitars and learn how to play through various popular songs.

Similar to 2014’s Rocksmith, this is designed to be a guitar practice tool that teaches you the mechanical basics, and also features varying levels of difficulty when it comes to playing individual songs. Unlike the original game, however, Rocksmith Plus is a subscription service that will cost $14.99 a month, $39.99 for a three-month subscription, or $99.99 for a one-year subscription.

In return, there are thousands of songs available on the service, with more to be added in the future. The Rocksmith Plus Connect mobile app will also launch alongside the service, and it functions as a microphone for your guitar, as well as a tuner, which can be helpful.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey Release Date

1 year 6 months ago

There is always room for creativity when it comes to IPs everyone knows and love, but with Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, it is probably the worst nightmare for the honey-loving bear in the woods. Instead of a cuddly and warm film, the upcoming film is a slasher, with both Pooh and Piglet taking to the darker side of the forest. If you are wondering just when is the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey release date, read on.

When Is the Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey Coming Out?

With the movie set to come to VOD and DVD worldwide, unfortunately, there is no release date set just yet. However, it is likely that Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey will arrive sometime in 2023.

Those not familiar with the premise of this disturbing version of a children’s favorite can catch the first trailer to get up close and personal with the pair of monstrous animals. The premise is that both Pooh and Piglet were left to fend for themselves after Christopher Robin left for college, leading the two to turn feral in a struggle to survive essentially, which is certainly dark.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is also only possible as the A.A. Milne’s classic fell into the public domain back at the start of the year, leading to the possibility of the horror film. Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor, and Danielle Scott will be the stars.

How to Fix Madden Ultimate Team Rewards Not Showing Up in Madden 23

1 year 6 months ago

Like sequels past, Madden 23 continues having an in-game store where players can spend real money in exchange for Madden Coins and player packs. Given that Madden 23 is still young in its cycle, many players are having issues receiving their Ultimate Team rewards not appearing after purchase. If you’re experiencing this issue too, here’s how to fix Madden Ultimate Team rewards not showing up in Madden 23.

How to Fix Madden Ultimate Team Rewards Not Showing Up in Madden 23

If Ultimate Team rewards aren’t showing up in Madden 23, the first thing you shouldn’t do is panic. It’s solidified in stone that you’ll get your rewards, but it will take some time considering Madden 23 is still relatively new, so server-side issues are bound to happen. You’re guaranteed to get them, but in the meantime you can try a few workarounds.

  1. Backing out of Madden 23 to the game’s main menu.

Sometimes it’s just a simple menu refresh that does the trick.

  2. If that doesn’t work, shut down Madden 23 completely and restart the game.

Some users have experienced some of their rewards showing up using this method, so you may have to try this step multiple times until everything is accounted for.

Where to Find the Exo Stranger in Destiny 2

1 year 6 months ago

Destiny 2’s Exo Stranger is an enigmatic figure that has been a part of the sci-fi franchise ever since it launched in 2014. With a mysterious past and a penchant for time travel, the Exo Stranger eluded Guardians for years, until eventually arriving as a full-on NPC in the Beyond Light expansion. In it she acts as the guide to the new Stasis subclass, which unlike previous classes is derived from Darkness rather than Light.

In order to attain the Aspects and Fragments essentially to making builds with Stasis, you must complete quests provided by her. Finding her at first can be a bit of a challenge, especially because she does not appear on the main section of Europa’s map.

Destiny 2 Exo Stranger Location

  1. Go to the Destinations menu and find Europa.

First, you are going to want to press tab and go to the Destinations page. There, you will want to locate and select Europa, which is the blueish white planet located to the top left of the Destinations page.
