Pokémon Go Fest 2022 Is Underway! Here Are the Rare Catches

1 year 10 months ago

Happy Pokémon Go Fest, trainers! We have two long days of catching Pokémon in front of us. To be a part of this festival, you need to buy the ticket in the in-game item shop for $14.99.

As we complete research challenges that lead to a mythical encounter with Shaymin, we'll want to be on the lookout for three Pokémon who are leaving their regions and will only be here for the two days. Those Pokémon are: Tropius, Torkoal, and Galarian Mr. Mime. We'll need to use incense to lure all of them out when they appear in their habitats.

As the Fest unfolds, each hour brings a different habitat with different Pokémon to catch. Many can be the rare shiny variant. Here's what you will find in each, along with the shiny opportunities:

City:

Season 6: Devil May Cry | Video Gameography

1 year 10 months ago

Let's rock, baby! Season 6 of Video Gameography gets stylish as we examine the Devil May Cry series! Over the next few weeks, we’ll be covering the history and lore of Capcom’s premiere action franchise. This week we start from the beginning as we unpack one of the most influential action games ever, Devil May Cry.

Arriving stateside on October 16, 2001, the game stars Dante, a demon hunter (and half-demon himself) on a mission to stop underworld emperor Mundus from invading the human world. The game began life as Resident Evil 4, helmed by a hotshot young director named Hideki Kamiya who veered the game from survival horror to stylish action. While it proved too drastic of a departure for Resident Evil, Capcom knew they had something and reworked the project into its own franchise. Listen on to learn how Dante was conceived, our thoughts on the game’s story, and how we fared against the game’s legendarily brutal difficulty.

Tiger & Bunny Live-Action Adaptation Greenlit for a Third Time

1 year 10 months ago

Tiger Bunny Live Action

Bandai Namco Pictures has reportedly greenlit a live-action adaptation of the Tiger & Bunny series for a third time. Producing the series in partnership with Bandai Namco is SK Global, the film company behind feature films such as Crazy Rich Asians and Moneyball. Unlike the previous two failed ventures, however, SK Global aims to produce it as a series rather than a film. [Thanks, Variety!]

Tiger & Bunny first appeared as an anime series in 2011 from animation studio Sunrise. The series later received one-shot manga, video game, and stage play adaptations, as well as two animated feature films in 2012 and 2014. More recently, the anime's second season released on Netflix in April 2022.

This is the third time Bandai Namco has attempted to produce a live-action adaptation of the popular anime series. Previous attempts involved production companies such as Imagine Entertainment and Global Road Entertainment. Both of Bandai Namco's previous deals fell through when its respective partners collapsed, resulting in the IP's rights reverting back to Bandai Namco.

The Tiger & Bunny live-action series will have M. Raven Metzner, the executive producer of Marvel TV series Iron Fist's second season, adapting and show-running. Other executive producers include the producer of the original Tiger & Bunny anime series, Ozaki Masayuki.

Leon’s Bomber Jacket from RE4 Remake Costs $1500

1 year 10 months ago

Leon Jacket RE4 Remake

Leon S. Kennedy is apparently not one to skimp out when it comes to fashion. The Schott sheepskin leather bomber jacket, which Leon wears in the upcoming RE4 Remake, is available for purchase for $1,495. [Thanks, @Jawmuncher!]

Eagle-eyed Resident Evil fans first noticed the jacket's existence after spotting a disclaimer at the end of the recent RE4 Remake reveal trailer. The disclaimer stated that Leon's brown sheepskin jacket appeared "with permission from Schott NYC," a clothing brand based in the US. The brand has been producing high-end jackets since 1913.

https://twitter.com/Jawmuncher/status/1532509925158576128

Specifically, Leon's jacket is the Classic B-3 Sheepskin Leather Bomber Jacket. A modified version of the jacket was reportedly worn by American pilots during World War II. The jacket is shearling, and the inside is woolen while the outside is suede. The jacket also comes in black and gold. Interestingly, the jacket first appeared in the beta version of RE4, but was replaced in the final version of the game.

Date (or Don’t) Your Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers Teammates

1 year 10 months ago

Arcade Spirits New Challengers fireworks

Sometimes you want to play the field. Other times, you just aren't looking for romance and want to surround yourself with good friends. Giving players the freedom of choice, and a lot of choices at that, is what makes Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers such an enjoyable visual novel.

As the game introduces new potential partners, you'll be presented with First Impressions. This determines whether or not you want to be friends, enemies, or keep things open for some quality flirting. I chose not to get tangled up with my rival Hunter. They'd been my online battling partner for so long that keeping things platonic made sense to me. When I showed up at the arcade to meet my potential teammates, I figured it best not to overwhelm myself. This meant sticking to the friendship route with Grace and Domino. Grace was just too sweet and reserved for me, whereas Domino's off-kilter demeanor was a bit of a turn-off.

Obviously, the big news that most of you are already aware of stems from Jeff G's recent absence on the site. Jeff revealed on twitter that he is seeking medical treatment for TMJ. This work of photoshop from sebmal on Twitter is the hopeful best case scenario for Jeff in his possibly surgery and recovery.

For those of you that noticed the "Manage Cookies" button on the lower left part of the site, the issue should be fixed for a majority of users. You Can Finally Have Lyse’s Hairstyle & Shadowbringers Costume in Final Fantasy XIV (But You Have to Pay for Them)

1 year 10 months ago

Square Enix released new optional items in Final Fantasy XIV’s official store, and it’s Lyse’s outfit and hairstyle.

If you’re unfamiliar with what “optional items” are, they’re basically paid DLC that you can purchase in addition to the monthly subscription.

The package costs $15 and can be purchased here. It’s worth mentioning that both the outfit (which is a single piece worn on the whole body) and the hairstyle are for female characters only.

On top of Lyse’s package, a second item just released is the “vexed” emote, which is exactly what it says on the tin.

It’s priced at $2 and can be purchased here. You can also see it in action in the video below.

It’s worth adding that both packages are for single characters, which means that if you have multiple characters, you’ll be prompted to choose one, and if you want to use your purchase on all of them, you’ll have to buy multiple copies.

The Rock returns, helping Fortnite players in another explosive live event

1 year 10 months ago

Fortnite's latest season has concluded with this year's first big live event, as the battle royale Island's heroes aimed to end the villainous Imagined Order faction for good.

Starting off the event, players found themselves in groups of up to four people inside Fortnite's bear mech for the first time. Here, you could peer out from its bridge and onto an unfamiliar landscape - an icy moon which orbits the main Fortnite Island - and play around with gun turrets while listening to brief audio chatter between heroes Jones (Troy Baker), The Origin (Rahul Kohli) and The Foundation (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson).

With a minute to go, a mission briefing finally re-introduced the mech's pilot The Paradigm and laid out the stakes: the evil IO were set to detonate a superweapon capable of killing everyone, and it was up to you inside the mech to stop it. (Never mind that this is your goal in each battle royale match.) So off we went, blasting into space, through an asteroid field, and towards our best view of the Fortnite island floating through the multiverse yet.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Trailers Reveal a Completely Different Attitude

1 year 10 months ago

Fortnite’s Chapter 3 Season 2 was all about war and fighting back against the game’s Imagined Order enemy forces. After the Collision event, it seems that the entire tone of this new season has taken a 180 into something that the kids might call “a vibe”. Two new trailers are now out to set the mood.

The cinematic trailer can be seen here and below:

The new season, subtitled “Vibin'”, seems to be all about exploration and fun, focusing more on a laid back theme. Following the recent Obi-Wan Kenobi outfit and the May the 4th return of the other Star Wars cosmetics, Darth Vader himself will be joining the Battle Royale. Based on leaked images, it is most likely that Dark Vader will sit at the final slot of the Battle Pass for players to unlock.

Yakuza's Kamurocho is a place where you belong

1 year 10 months ago

There is a distinct feeling to walking around in a city you used to live in. It is different from going to a new place for the first time and it’s different from walking around a place you live in now. There is a mix of nostalgia and surprise as you walk around the old places you used to know and the new places that have cropped up since. You may feel a tinge of sadness at the places that are no longer there and, with it, a sense of the passage of time.

There really is only one game series that is able to fully capture that feeling. The Kamurocho map in Yakuza has been a staple since the PS2 entries. With new console generations and new engines, this fictional red-light district in the heart of Tokyo has received many face-lifts, but to those familiar with the series coming back always feels the same. Not at all in a bad way. It’s easy to imagine the outrage any other open-world series would face if the developers announced they would re-use the map, but the Yakuza fanbase welcomes this very same decision. A lot of it has to do with the care and attention the Ryu Ga Gotoku studio puts in to make every visit slightly different and period appropriate.

New leak hints at a release date for Marvel's Midnight Suns

That's according to a new leak - which the source insists was obtained via an anonymous online retailer - that seemingly backs up prior claims that the game is set to release on 6th October and will be available in three flavours: a standard, enhanced, and legendary edition.

The claims may have flown entirely under the radar, but the images accompanying the leaker's tweets - thought to have been box art - have all been zapped with a copyright notice from a senior legal assistant at Take-Two, leading many to believe they are genuine.

The Fastest Ways to Get Battle Stars in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

1 year 10 months ago

Looking back, Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 had a pretty easy path to completing the Battle Pass and quick ways to obtain all the stars needed to complete it. Seeing as the Battle Pass mechanics aren’t set to change, Chapter 3 Season 3 doesn’t look to be any more difficult. Even so, here’s the fastest ways to get Battle Stars in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3.

How to Get Battle Stars Fast in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

While obviously simply playing the game is the easiest way to get Battle Pass Stars, it isn’t necessarily the fastest.

Complete Every Quest in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

Your best choice is quests due to the usually high XP and the large number of quests you get handed. Daily quests offer 45K XP for doing all three. You will also want to keep on top of the seasons’ questline and season challenges that unlock each week.

As with Chapter 3 Season 3, there will no doubt be events that add quests and challenges, so keep an eye on those.

Also, make sure you’re doing simple gameplay tasks each game that can count towards the ‘Milestone’ quests, such as thanking the bus driver.

Play With Others

Playing with others not only helps the time pass faster when you’re playing, but if you’ve all got the Battle Pass, you’ll earn some bonus XP for doing so. By default, your teammates will also assist you with completing some of the quests, meaning you can complete them faster for easy XP.

Fortnite ‘Waiting in Queue’: What the Error Means & How to Fix It

1 year 7 months ago

Are you getting hit with the ‘Waiting in Queue‘ message when trying to join a game or log in to the servers in Fortnite? This guide will explain everything you need to know about the message and how you can start playing the game again.

What Does Waiting in Queue Mean in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4?

If you’re getting the ‘Waiting in Queue’ error notification when trying to load up Fortnite, this is because the number of players trying to join a game or log into the servers is currently too many for the servers to actually handle.

It can also be a result of the servers simply being offline for scheduled maintenance. Rather than not allowing you to hop into the game at all, Fortnite will put you in a login queue so that as soon as the servers come back online, it can start getting players in as fast as possible.

Chances are you’re facing this error message today due to Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 officially starting today. Epic has already announced that downtime is underway, and as such the servers will be offline for the next couple of hours. After that, you may be put into a queue while a surge of new players try and login.

New report hints that the development of horror Abandoned has stalled

1 year 10 months ago

More reports have surfaced suggesting upcoming PS5 game Abandoned is "not actively being worked on" and "there is no game" in development.

The claims come from GameSpot , which alleges it has information directly from a private Discord server through which Hasan Kahraman of Blue Box Game Studios, Abandoned's director, communicates with a handful of selected fans.

In exchange for access to "screenshots, animations, and even a page of the game's script", the members are required to sign a NDA, so some would only speak about the project under strict anonymity. Should any member of the server press Kahraman - who is described as "duplicitous and prone to mood swings" - for clarification or more details, they risk being banned from the small community.

The theme of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 is all about “the vibe”… and, you know, blowing stuff up. Those two things might seem at odds with one another, but hey, that’s Fortnite! Let’s take a look at all of the songs you can listen to on Fortnite’s Radio Stations.

Every Song on Fortnite’s Radio Stations

Radio Stations are a feature that was added all the way back in Chapter 2 Season 3, which gives players the ability to listen to licensed music in-game. You can only listen to Radio Stations when you are in cars, but previously you were able to jam out while in motor boats too.

There are a variety of different Radio Stations for players to listen to, and something to suit whatever mood you might be in!

Darth Vader has touched down in Fortnite, but it should come as no surprise that you’ll need to really grind out the iconic Sith Lord if you want to add him to your Locker. In this guide, we’ll be explaining everything you need to know on ‘how to get Darth Vader in Fortnite.’

How to Get Fortnite Darth Vader Skin from the Battle Pass

Darth Vader is the final Page 10 reward skin in the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Battle Pass. This means you’ll need to get the ‘Premium’ version of the Chapter 3 Season 3 Battle Pass, and then reach at least level 90, or claim 90 rewards within the previous nine pages of the Battle Pass to unlock the page.

After you’ve done this, you’ll then need to claim the other nine rewards on Page 10 of the Fortnite Battle Pass. Doing so will then allow you to unlock Darth Vader for an additional nine Battle Stars.

How to Get the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Battle Pass

1 year 10 months ago

With the launch of Fortnite Season 3 Chapter 3, it’s time to dive back in and start ranking up that brand-spanking-new Battle Pass. But before you can do that, you will actually need the darn thing. Let’s take a look at how to get the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Battle Pass

How to Get the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Battle Pass

Getting the Battle Pass in Fortnite is a straightforward affair. From the main screen, navigate to the Battle Pass tab, and select Get It Now! The price of the V-Bucks required will vary depending on your local region, but you will need 950 V-Bucks in total in order to unlock the Battle Pass. 1,000 V-Bucks is $9.99 USD, and £7.99, so we’d recommend grabbing these.

What Is a Battle Pass?

If you are wondering to yourself: just what exactly is this Battle Pass thingy, wonder no more. A Battle Pass is a paid method of acquiring additional content in Fortnite. You purchase the Battle Pass, and by playing the game, completing challenges, or spending additional V-Bucks you are able to level it up.

The Battle Pass works slightly differently this time around. Previously, when you would reach a new level, you would unlock the rewards associated with it. This time around, at each new level up, you will earn Battle Stars, and you can use this currency to unlock the rewards you want. Not every page is accessible from the start though, you will need to increase your Battle Pass level in order to unlock the coolest gear.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3: Vibin' Features Darth Vader, Indiana Jones, Rideable Wolves, and More

1 year 10 months ago

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3: Vibin' has officially arrived and it brings with it a Battle Pass featuring Darth Vader and Indiana Jones, rideable wolves and boars, the return of Ballers, and much more.

Vibin' follows Chapter 3 Season 2's "Collision" event and has made Fortnite's Island "one giant party." This party also comes with some map changes, led by a new location called Reality Falls.

This new area is home to the Reality Tree and is filled with bouncy mushrooms, purple trees, waterfalls, caves filled with loot, and much more. The Reality Tree is also sending out Reality Seed Pods, and when players plant the seeds from those pods, a Reality Sapling will grow. This sapling will grow in the same place from match to match and will bear better and better loot each time you weed it until it provides Mythic loot.

The Baller - the hampster wheel-esque vehicle with a grappler on the front - is back in this new season and now has more health, can float on water, and is charged by a battery that will eventually run out. There will also be a Screwballer "high-flying amusement park ride" that will take the party to an even higher level.

If hampster wheels aren't your style, you can hop on a wolf or a bear to ride around the Island, and you don't even have to dismount in battle as you can shoot and throw weapons while riding.
