Capcom Acknowledges Street Fighter 6 Leak, Confirms RE Engine Use

Capcom took to Twitter to discuss both the Street Fighter 6 character roster leak and the use of RE Engine in the game. For the former, the acknowledgement seemed to suggest the authenticity of the images that found their way online. As for the latter, it was an official announcement to help provide more insight into the game.

First, Capcom brought up the Street Fighter 6 roster leak on June 3, 2022. It thanked people for the support and reactions to the characters and their designs. It didn’t make any confirmation about its validity or when those designs were shown. It did acknowledge that this will be a Metro City game, though.

As for the Street Fighter 6 RE Engine usage, it noted the goal is to combine the graffiti effects with realistic character designs. Other recent games to use it include Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, and Monster Hunter Rise. Street Fighter V used Unreal Engine 4.

Street Fighter 6 will come to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2023.
