Netflix also thinks the number three fits The Witcher well, and has released three new trailers for the show's second season. In that same breath, The Witcher's showrunner Lauren Hissrich took to Twitter to announce a third season is in development.

The "Road to Season 2" trailer (above) sets the stage for Geralt and Ciri's forthcoming story, and the other two trailers (below) give you a taste of their journey ahead, as well as a look at Nivellen.

2 years 8 months ago

Knockout City's third season, Hacked, will drop on 5th October, 2021, complete with hacking, motorbikes, a battle pass, and a brand new map, too.

"Season 3 is just a short way away, and we've got a lot to cover with everything that's goin' on around here," developer Velan teased in an update on the official EA website.

"Speaking of, it's a little... different out there. Seems like the DJ isn't the only one who's been paying attention to what's going on in Knockout City - looks like we got an extra visitor here with us. Keeps poppin' in and lookin' around, calls themself Z3R0. Not sure how they got here, but pretty sure it's got something to do with this Season's theme. They've taken over the airwaves and it sounds like they're here to stay."

We start from TFDi Designs that showcased the first images of the MD-11 in the simulator (courtesy of FSElite’s FlightSimExpo’s live feed).

This aircraft is going to be “study-level” (meaning that it’ll include in-depth simulation of all the systems) and it certainly looks promising so far. We’ll likely hear more about it soon.

Do keep in mind that the last two screenshots in the gallery were captured with a camera off a monitor.

2 years 8 months ago

Marvel's Avengers developer Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that long-awaited roster addition, Spider-Man - who will only be available on PlayStation consoles - will "for sure" have his own story mission and cutscenes.

It should be good news to fans of the action-adventure game who have seen little about Spidey's pending arrival up until this point, even though he's expected to release by the end of the year.

As spotted by MP1st (thanks, TheGamer), Crystal Dynamics' Dan Matlack responded to a question on the game's Discord server that enquired whether or not Spider-Man would have his own story.

The Last of Us HBO Series: First Image Revealed of Pedro Pascal's Joel and Bella Ramsey's Ellie

2 years 8 months ago

In celebration of The Last of Us Day 2021, the first image from The Last of Us HBO series has been revealed and it shows Pedro Pascal's Joel and Bella Ramsey's Ellie in the post-apocalyptic world made famous in the PlayStation exclusive of the same name.

While we don't get to see their faces, the image gives fans of The Last of Us and newcomers an idea of how these characters will be adapted for this live-action series.

The image also shows more than you may at first notice, as Joel and Ellie's outfits and backpacks are very authentic to the game, showing the care the team behind the show, which includes The Last of Us director Neil Druckmann, are putting into it.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronciles - The Final Preview

2 years 8 months ago

CyberConnect2 has established itself as one of the best in the business when it comes to anime-to-video-game adaptations, with the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series standing tall as some of the most faithful and visually spectacular of that group, along with Dragon Ball Z Kakarot offering up an extremely respectable take on the storied legacy of DBZ.

The team’s next project is the truly excellent anime, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and based on my early experience with The Hinokami Chronicles, it’s exactly what you’d expect from CyberConnect2: absolutely jaw-dropping recreations of Demon’s Slayer’s most memorable story moments, approachable combat with some of the wildest super moves you’ll ever see, and more than a few rough edges, but none sharp enough to dampen the excitement of a big Demon Slayer fan.

If you’ve played any of the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games, a lot about The Hinokami Chronicles’ story mode will be very familiar. This is an abridged retelling of the story of Demon Slayer, covering the events all the way up to the end of the first season, focusing primarily on the biggest moments of the 26-episode anime. Hinokami Chronicles actually takes a page out of the playbooks of the first two Ultimate Ninja Storm games by putting you directly in the shoes of its main characters, whether that's Tanjiro, Zenitsu, or Inosuke, and lets you wander around its world, talking to NPCs, finding collectible memories that unlock scenes from the anime and sniffing out demon scents that lead you towards your eventual destination.

Naughty Dog on The Last of Us Multiplayer Project: 'In Short, We're Working On It'

2 years 8 months ago

While Naughty Dog may not have revealed any new details on the upcoming The Last of Us multiplayer project, it took the time on The Last of Us Day 2021 to ensure fans that it is actively working on it and that it will "reveal more when it's ready!"

Naughty Dog's Rochelle Snyder shared the news in a community update after thanking the fans and the team who have all collectively made The Last of Us into the success it has become. Jokingly, Naughty Dog then included this question as a fan would write;

"Yeah, that's lovely and great Naughty Dog, but what are you doing with The Last of Us right now?"

"In short, we’re working on it," Naughty Dog answered. "We see the community comments as many of you clamor for multiplayer and want updates. For now, we’ll say that we love what the team is developing and want to give them time to build out their ambitious project, we’ll reveal more when it’s ready!

"To that end, we’ve been busy growing our team inside the kennel since The Last of Us Part II launched and are currently in full swing of hiring for MP-related positions (hint hint), so if you or somebody you know qualifies for anything you see on our jobs page, apply!"

For those who are unaware or may not remember, Naughty Dog announced that it had made the "difficult choice" to not include an online multiplayer mode in The Last of Us Part 2 after the scope and ambition of the game's single-player campaign reached a level even the team had not anticipated.

Aragami 2 Review – Assassinating Expectations

2 years 8 months ago

Aragami 2 on PS5

Back in 2016, Lince Works came out of the dark and surprised the gaming world with Aragami. Combining a distinctive art style with an engaging story involving assassins and the supernatural, as well as excellent stealth gameplay, it was a thrill to play. It would have made sense for the sequel, Aragami 2, to continue refining the formula, but the sequel switches things up quite significantly, which returning players will find a big departure from the original.

With the second game set about a century after the events of the first, the story is only loosely tied to the first Aragami. In fact, you can jump into the experience more or less totally blind and still make sense of everything. Other than our undead assassin hero, there is little else that connects to the original Aragami, which is a great way to introduce newcomers to the series, but leaves much to be desired for returning fans.

The TV series is now in production, as announced over on the official HBO Twitter account, and we’ve just gotten our first look at the two actors as Joel and Ellie, as shown in the tweet below.

FIFA 22 review: morally bankrupt monetisation lets the side down once again

2 years 8 months ago

I'd say I sound like a broken record but at this point I may as well chuck out the record player. FIFA 22 is a game with plenty of solid improvements, but it is - once again! - let down by morally bankrupt monetisation.

I'm going to start with the good news because I like to kick things off with a positive. FIFA 22's gameplay is a crowd pleaser. It's slightly slower, more considered, with less emphasis on ridiculous skills and more emphasis on passing. It is a reaction to FIFA 21's high-scoring fun, which by the end of that game's life had become something of a joke within the hardcore FIFA community. FIFA 22, then, plays harder.

That is to say, it's harder to score and harder to win for a raft of reasons. The goalkeepers are much improved. In one-on-one situations they're all prime Buffons, with an annoying habit of getting a hand to shots from inside the box that would almost always go in in last year's game. There are some new animations for the keepers and you'll see them quite often. They'll reach across with their strong arm to save shots now, and pat strong shots to the ground before gobbling up the ball. Defenders with low pace are more viable because they have a habit of blocking shots and passes in the final third. They feel stronger, too.

Elder Scrolls Online video shows Nvidia’s new DLAA tech in action

2 years 8 months ago

The Elder Scrolls Online is the first game to implement Nvidia DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing), and thanks to YouTuber MxBenchmarkPC you can now see how the AI-powered edge-smoothing system looks in the fantasy MMO. DLAA is a new spin on Nvidia’s existing DLSS (Deep Learning Super-Sampling): whereas DLSS involves rendering a game at a lower resolution then upscaling, reducing the performance hit of the AA it applies, DLAA skips the upscaling part and keeps the resolution native.

2 years 8 months ago

Bethesda has bought a PlayStation 5 for Deathloop's Jason Kelley after the voice actor told fans he didn't have a copy of the game or a console to experience it on.

Just as Deathloop was about to launch, a short promo clip on the game's official Twitter account featured Jason Kelley, the voice actor for protagonist Colt, saying: "I cannot wait for you guys to get your hands on this video game. If anyone can get me a copy and a PlayStation 5, I would appreciate it." This made it clear that Kelley didn't own a copy of Deathloop or a PlayStation 5 to play it on

Halo Infinite multiplayer feels great - but there's a question mark over battle pass progression

2 years 8 months ago

I know 343 has done something right with Halo Infinite multiplayer because I was still playing at 4am this morning.

Over the weekend, 343 held limited-time matchmaking sessions for 4v4 arena. These included just a few core multiplayer modes (Slayer, Strongholds and Capture the Flag) on just a few maps (Live Fire, Recharge, Bazaar and, for Sunday only, Behemoth), but it was enough for me to come away convinced Halo Infinite's multiplayer could be something special.
