Toys "R" Us is reportedly coming back to the UK.
The famous toy shop chain, which sold video games, toppled into administration in March 2018, closing 100 stores in the UK and 800 stores in the US, and putting thousands of people out of a job.
The leaks continue for Warner Bros.' Smash Bros-style game Multiversus.
Multiversus, which Warner Bros. has yet to announce, has suffered a number of leaks in the last week, including details of playable characters and even a portion of the game's character select screen.
Employees will reportedly be moved to headquarters in Washington and Vancouver.

Atlus has released another of its trailers showcasing the 200+ demons of its upcoming JRPG Shin Megami Tensei V one by one.
This time around, the trailer focuses on a Mithras, a Roman deity associated with the Sun not to be confused with Mithra (even if many believe Roman Mithraism could have been inspired by the Persian cult of Mithra). He has been part of the series since his debut in Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers in 1997.
You can watch him in action below.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition has new quests tapping into Morrowind and Oblivion, Bethesda has revealed.
Anniversary Edition, which is due out 11th November to tie in with Skyrim's 10th birthday, includes an all-new batch of creations, outlined in the video below.
One of the first things that may strike you about Mundaun, a very unsettling horror game that released earlier this year, is just how comfortable with weirdness it is. There are hay people hunting you in the night, monstrous masks inspired by traditional Swiss carnival costumes, and the decapitated head of the goat Allegria, bleating and chattering from your backpack.
Many horror games either try to establish a sense of mundane familiarity in a recognisable, contemporary world before shattering that familiarity, or else rely on the dusty, done-to-death setting of haunted manors. In most cases, neither approach does much to surprise. Horror often relies on the grotesque, but Mundaun’s weirdness is different. It is an earthy kind of weirdness, a strangeness with roots so deep that it might be confused with familiarity. It’s a horror that smells not of blood, but of hay and dung, snow and soot.
By the time you read this I'll be playing Back 4 Blood, gunning down hordes of the undead until viscera and gore cake my player’s clothes, and my eyes become infinite pools of horror that have seen more than enough death for one lifetime. Or perhaps I’ll be creeping around a haunted house in Phasmophobia, my smudge stick in-hand and a cavalcade of petrified friends whimpering down their mics. Maybe I’ll be running from Pyramid Head in Dead By Daylight with my pals in tow. A thought has been brewing in the cold recesses of my mind for a while now, and it is simply this: when did horror become a team game?
Happy Halloween weekend, gang! Oh, hang on, I meant to say: BOO! Alright, there we go. But the greatest horror this weekend isn't any ghost or ghoulie, it's UK clocks switching back to GMT this weekend. Sure, your phone and computer will automatically update, but your heating will be irksome until you again dig out the manual to remember how to change it. And a secondary blast of horror comes from the fact that not every country changes their clocks just yet, so if you deal with business across timezones... good luck, pal. But, what are you playing this weekend?
Six years after its original Japanese release, I spent the summer savouring The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. There's an enormous amount to marvel at, from fantastic localisation to wonderfully expressive characters, to thrilling courtroom turnabouts and revelations I'll try to avoid spoiling here. But what struck me most was how, in charting accidental student lawyer Ryunosuke Naruhodo's journey from Meiji Japan to Victorian England, this is a rare game that captures the immigrant experience.
The premise of many games do, of course, involve journeying to new worlds. But even in the realms of fantasy or sci-fi, they can almost always be read from a Western, borderline colonialist, perspective. The term 'immigrant' itself comes loaded with connotations, especially considering Westerners who move abroad are referred to as expats instead.
Atlus released another of its many trailers showcasing the over 200+ demons of its upcoming JRPG Shin Megami Tensei V.
This time around we get to see the gameplay of Valkyrie, obviously inspired by Norse mythology. She debuted in the game with Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei II in 1990.

A Fortnite and League of Legends crossover is set to be announced very soon, according to one reliable insider for Epic's battle royale game. There have been several whispers swirling as of late regarding a major collaboration that was on the horizon, but those in the know had remained very tight-lipped until now. If this apparent leak is true, we will soon find a Fortnite Jinx skin in the game as Epic and Riot collaborate on a major video game crossover.
According to ShiinaBR, one of the most trusted Fortnite dataminers and insiders, the Fortnite Jinx skill will be revealed and released next week to coincide with the launch of Riot Games' new animated Netflix show, Arcane, which takes place in the ever-popular League of Legends world of Runeterra.

The Harley Quinn-esque "loose cannon" Jinx has become the de facto mascot of Riot's MOBA, so it would make sense for any crossover between two of the world's biggest games to involve her--as far as we know, don't hold your breath for a Jonesy hero in League, though.

Nintendo is shuttering its offices in Redwood City, California and Toronto, Ontario — a move that will reportedly affect more than 100 employees. The decision coincides with the reported resignation of Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Nick Chavez, who will be leaving Nintendo to join Kentucky Fried Chicken.
First reported by Kotaku, Nintendo of America confirmed that the offices would be closing in a statement to IGN.
"Nintendo of America headquarters are in Redmond, WA, and Vancouver, BC. We are moving more of our employees and operations into those headquarters and will be closing small satellite offices in Toronto, ON, and Redwood City, CA, over time," the statement says.
It continues, "Devon Pritchard, Executive Vice President, Business Affairs and Publisher Relations for Nintendo of America (NOA), will assume interim leadership of Sales, Marketing and Communications following the departure of Nick Chavez. Ms. Pritchard will oversee strategy and execution of sales, marketing and communications across the U.S. and Canada."
According to Kotaku, staff were reportedly "upset" by the decision to close the Redwood City office.
Until their closure, the Redwood City and Toronto locations were satellite offices that primarily housed Nintendo's sales and marketing teams. IGN was in the Redwood City office last month to see the Switch OLED and play Metroid Dread, and the location was almost totally empty.
Like many other companies, Nintendo has had to scramble to adapt to new work from home protocols and other issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. It appears that this is an attempt to consolidate its physical offices as the pandemic wears on.
With Halloween coming up this weekend, the Fortnite Item Shop today features the final new skin for October. After a busy run of at least one new skin or style every day this month, the spooky season is set to close out with a classic character reborn in a modern image. Here's what's in the Fortnite Item Shop for October 30, 2021.
The marquee new addition is the Frankenstein's Bride skin, though you may not spot her right away. Instead of her traditional black and white hairdo that would rival Marge Simpson's beehive in height, the Bride has been reborn as part of a new collaboration between Fortnite and Universal Monsters.
Earlier this week, we shared the reveal of We Will Be Monsters, a new animated limited series starring the famous movie monsters who have each been given complete makeovers to celebrate a more diverse take on the timeless characters. The first episode is already available now within Fortnite's horror movie festival, Shortnitemares, but you can grab the reborn Bride even if you don't attend the show. She'll cost you 1,200 V-Bucks, though contains no additional cosmetics other than an alternate style that allows for her hood to be worn rather than left hanging on her shoulders.
According to a new report from Kotaku and confirmed by The Verge, Nintendo has closed its offices in California and Toronto.
The shuttering of the office in Redwood City, California, affects around 100 employees within Nintendo's Sales and Marketing department, as well as its NMI, which is "a dedicated merchandising field team who work with retail stores across the country." Kotaku's article mentions "many of the now-displaced staff were upset over the decision."
Nintendo has confirmed the closures in a statement to The Verge. Here is the statement in full:

So, you wish Pokemon were real? Maybe reading these creepy facts from the various Pokémon games will make you think twice.
The journey to defeat evil in Darkest Dungeon II seems to be as much an interior battle as an exterior one. You not only need to fight off hideous cosmic horrors, but keep the minds of your heroes from breaking as they succumb to the horror and dispair all around them. The metaphor of fighting internal evil starts with the name of Act 1, Denial, and ends with its final boss: a giant brain literally covered in chains.
Defeating the boss--or rather, the four evil, magical padlocks covering it--is tough, mostly because of the special abilities the locks bring to bear against your team. They also have big health pools that can make whittling them down pretty difficult. Knowing where to focus your efforts and with what attacks, however, can go a long way, as can managing your team's Stress levels to keep them in fighting shape.
Here's everything you need to know to defeat the Brain and complete Act 1. If you want more on how to survive your runs, check out our Darkest Dungeon II beginner's guide.
New World, Amazon Game Studio’s first MMORPG, had a successful launch but the honeymoon period may be coming to an end as players are discovering some ridiculous bugs. Including one where players can inject HTML code directly into the game’s general chat and crash the game for unsuspecting players.
As reported by YouTuber Josh Strife Hayes and currently a hot topic on the New World subreddit is an apparent bug in New World with the text chat. Normally, a text chat is there so players can communicate with one another, but apparently, New World’s text chat has it so that it can accept HTML code outright.
Now, this has led to some pretty funny instances. People have used HTML to begin linking oversized images into the global chat, making it so that anyone in the instance will see some random picture of sausages while playing.
But, for trolls adept at HTML, they can also send injecting images coded to kick players out of the game if they hover over a specific word or picture.
As Hayes reports, this is not the first time this issue has happened in an MMORPG as World of Warcraft once had a similar bug. And it sounds like an easily fixable programming mistake though one that never should have been made in the first place.

Earlier this month, the Pokémon Trading Card Game released its special Celebrations expansion to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise as a whole. While that limited expansion was focused squarely on the past, the world of Pokémon TCG pushes ahead with its newest expansion, Sword & Shield – Fusion Strike.
Earlier this year, The Pokémon Company released its Sword & Shield – Battle Styles expansion, which introduced a new mechanic that allows players to use special variants of Pokémon to either deliver a knockout blow or approach battles more strategically. This latest expansion, Sword & Shield – Fusion Strike, expands on that mechanic with new Fusion Strike cards that typically gain bonuses when other Pokémon with Fusion Strike are in play. The idea is to let players create synergies between their Pokémon through Fusion Strike Style decks.
The Fusion Strike expansion adds 20 Pokémon V, 13 full-art Pokémon V cards, and 8 Pokémon VMAX cards, including a few really awesome Mew cards. In addition, players can collect 20 new Trainer cards, plus 7 full-art Supporter cards and 1 special Energy card.
Fracked just wants you to have fun, and so it throws a lot at you. You’ll engage in shootouts, climb rickety structures, solve puzzles, and zip-line from platform to platform. Maybe you've seen all the individual parts before in other VR games, but that’s not a big problem. As it funneled me from action scene to action scene, I had little time to dwell on which game did what first.
The setting here is a mining operation run by an evil corporation. Your job is to kill all the workers (don't worry, they're purple interdimensional zombies) before confronting the maniacal CEO, a talkative fellow with a foul mouth and a southern drawl. This is a fine setup, but it’s hardly original. How many times have we stopped evil corporations from sapping a planet's resources? The voice acting is great, though, and the whole thing feels stylish in a way many PSVR games don’t.
At the start, you find yourself skiing high up on a snowy mountain. You hardly have time to soak in the appealing cel-shaded world before an explosion causes an avalanche you have to outrace. Occasionally, beat-driven electronic music kicks in, suiting the style of the world nicely. It’s an exciting start that’s perfectly in line with the action-hero exploits to come.
To play Fracked, you'll need a pair of Move controllers. In the headset these become your hands, appearing in your vision as meaty, floating gloves you’ll put to good use: you use them to pull yourself behind cover, shoot and reload guns, climb ladders, turn cranks, and operate levers.

A few weeks ago, we published a detailed rundown of what horror games we think you should play this Halloween season. But with no trick or treating this year, you're going to have a lot of extra time on your hands to be scared. Luckily for you, Game Informer is always here to help. Rather than suggesting horror video games for you to play, this time we're here to run down some scary movies we think you should watch if you like things that go bump in the night.
It would be too easy to recommend a Friday the 13th movie here. Instead, you should watch the criminally underappreciated Sleepaway Camp. Released in 1983 by director Robert Hiltzik, Sleepaway Camp tells the story of Angela Baker and her stay at Camp Arawak. Angela doesn't quite fit in and is often bullied by the older kids at camp, or much worse, tried to be taken advantage of by the adults running the camp. Conspicuously, though, all these people die in very, very horrible ways.

Skydance tapped Hennig to head up a new division within the studio to work on games heavily focused on narrative back in 2019; now we know more about her first game there ... well kinda. We know it's a Marvel game, but it's currently an unannounced title, so there's no telling which superheroes or villains we'll be playing as. However, we do know what kind of experience it will be.

Uh oh! It’s Halloween weekend, and you still don't have a costume for yourself or your children? Fear not! I have scoured the internet for the best, and worst, outfits you can buy. Being that we're all gamers here, I focused on outfits based on our favorite interactive medium. Some of these are great. Others... not so much. But the clock is ticking, and beggars can't be choosers. Here's a list of video game Halloween costumes that haven't sold out (yet), along with links to purchase them.
Xbox Live Gold subscribers with a hankering for freebies will have a fresh selection of games to add to their libraries next week, including Kingdom Two Crowns and Moving Out.
Moving Out, for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, will be available to download as part of next month's Xbox Games With Gold offerings from 1st-30th November. Developed by SMG Studio and DevM Games, it's a raucous, physics-based moving simulator, in which friends team up for some knockabout furniture-shifting action across increasingly hazardous environs.
Note: This article is, quite obviously, full of spoilers for Inscryption. You should absolutely finish the game on your own first before reading further.
There's a lot more to Inscryption than first meets the eye. When you start the game, you find yourself in a mysterious cabin, forced to play a deck-building card game with a shadowy figure. Lose, and your opponent claims your life; your only goal is to stay alive long enough to solve the mysteries of the cabin so that you might find a way to ultimately escape.
But even if you do escape, that's only the beginning. Between the strange puzzles, the talking cards who appear to be other characters trapped in some sort of limbo, and the monstrous opponent who runs the show, there's much more to uncover about Inscryption. Once you've made it to the end, you might still find yourself confused about what's going on with the game's plot--lots of hints and tidbits are hidden by secrets you'll have to uncover, and there's actually a whole ongoing alternate reality game outside of Inscryption that players are still trying to puzzle out.
We haven't uncovered everything about Inscryption--and that ARG is still ongoing--but we have delved pretty deeply into the story of the game to uncover some of its secrets, particularly to get a sense of what's going on with its tense, abrupt ending. Here's everything we've uncovered and what you need to know to make sense of Inscryption's story, as well as a look at what's waiting to be uncovered.

Sometimes, Halloween can be just a bit too scary. There are ghosts and ghouls and undead and…assholes. Living is frightening and, so too, is the thought of death and mortality. That’s exactly why Skul: The Hero Slayer works as a comfy spooky game. It’s not really scary. It just pretends to be.
