Cyberpunk 2077 Delays All New Updates To 2022

2 years 5 months ago

In an updated roadmap, CD Projekt has revealed that any further updates, including the free DLC and next-gen console updates, will not be coming until 2022. Effectively, there will be no more Cyberpunk 2077 updates for the remainder of the year.

CD Projekt released an updated roadmap on October 28. Along with the previously announced next-gen update delay for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, the new roadmap ends 2021 with Patch 1.31 which was released in September.

The Cybperunk 2077 roadmap has undergone a couple of changes since it was first revealed, with plans for free DLC and the next-gen console update planned for the second half of 2022. But Cyberpunk 2077 faced numerous hurdles, particularly on consoles, and many agree console performance could not compare to the performance achieved on PC.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Athens Airport Released; F-16, Airbus A310 & H145, Cessna Skymaster, & More Get New Screenshots

2 years 5 months ago

Today was a packed news day for Microsoft Flight Simulator’s third-party developers, with lots of new assets for upcoming add-ons, announcements, and a relevant release.

First of all, we get new screenshots of the F-16 Fighting Falcon from SC Designs and DC Designs, alongside a development update.

“A huge amount of work has been done on the F-16s this week with the assistance of DC Designs, as we wanted to get the package ready for Sim Acoustics, who will be performing the custom sound work using recordings from a real F-16!

To that end, the F-16C cockpit was completed this week, and the F-16D rear-seat cockpit added and the detail built up. The rear seat will have fully functioning flight controls and also will have every switch working ( although not all with functions connected to the sim itself ).

The MFD screens and HUDs will be repeaters from those in the front seat, and we recently had the chance to check out the super-cool FLIR effect for night flying at low altitudes! In addition, some paintwork has been done and we have decided to select a mixture of standard low-viz schemes along with some of the more spectacular paint jobs that have been applied to the F-16s over the years. There are so many to choose from that we of course cannot include them all ( although the paint kit will be included so that users can create their own schemes ) but at least 10 schemes will be included with the package at launch.

Place Of Residing Evil: Looking Back At Capcom’s Original Survival Horror

2 years 5 months ago

Tokuro Fujiwara didn’t play video games; he didn’t even know that Konami was a game developer when he walked into the studio to apply for a product planner job he’d heard about through a college recruiter. However, Fujiwara excelled at game development. After breaking into the industry at Konami, Fujiwara moved over to Capcom, where he created Ghosts ‘n Goblins and Bionic Commando before working on other 8-bit classics such as Strider, DuckTales, and Mega Man 2.

Fujiwara’s most significant contribution to the gaming industry, however, might be an often-overlooked RPG for Nintendo’s first console that never officially released outside Japan. Entitled Sweet Home, Fujiwara’s project sounds like a game bound for obscurity; it was an adaptation of a low-budget Japanese horror film that served as an early experiment in video game horror. In spite of all this, Sweet Home became a cult hit and went on to inspire the Resident Evil franchise as well as the entire survival horror genre.

Forza Horizon 5 Free Car Celebrates Dia De Muertos

2 years 5 months ago

When Forza Horizon 5 releases on Xbox and PC platforms in just a few days, series veterans will know to expect a bevy of free in-game rewards from the always-generous series. Among them will be a new Dia de Muertos livery decorating one of the most beloved American-made cars in the world, the Corvette.

Xbox teamed up with actor Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai, Parenthood) to design the special livery that celebrates the holiday of Mexican origin which gives the living a period to reflect on their lost loved ones. In Forza Horizon 5, the holiday's traditionally vibrant colors and iconography can be seen from fender to bumper on the 2020 Chevy Corvette Stingray.

The car will be given to all Forza Horizon 5 players sometime after the game's global launch on November 9. For those still playing Forza Horizon 4 in the meantime, the car is already available as a free gift. In both cases, players need only to unlock the first Player House and check their in-game messages before the end of the calendar year to claim their gift.

The Dia de Muertos free car will feature symbols such as marigold flowers and hummingbirds.

Born in Los Angeles, Maridueña drew on his family's tradition and captured Dia de Muertos in the car's bright orange and yellow base colors, accented by cooler purples and magentas. Stretching across the side is a dark hummingbird, a symbol of the bittersweet day of remembrance, much like the marigold flowers that appear all over the sports car.

Bike (Or Walk, Or Drive, Or Jetpack) To Walmart To Save On Riders Republic

2 years 5 months ago

Riders Republic, semi-successor to Ubisoft's Steep, is out today, and you can get the game for a discounted price via Walmart. You'll be able to ride bikes, glide through the air, and probably wipe out a whole bunch--all while having an extra $10 in your pocket to spend on the virtual bandages you'll need.

Through delivery or in-store pickup, you can get Riders Republic for $50 across all three retail versions--PS5, PS4, and Xbox. The Xbox version supports Smart Delivery, and the PS4 version includes a free PS5 upgrade, so it's actually the better version to buy compared to the PS5-only version.

If you want the digital version for a discount, it's available at Newegg for 10% off with promo code EMCHESA22. That works out to about $54, so it's a tad more expensive than buying the disc, and because digital PlayStation games are only available via the PlayStation Store, you can only get this deal on Xbox.

Riders Republic is available now, and it supports cross-play and cross-progression, along with cross-gen play. Regardless of where your friends are playing the game, you'll be able to race and stunt it up together.

Valorant Episode 3, Act 3's New Agent Is Chamber, A Sentinel Character With A Powerful Sniper Rifle

2 years 5 months ago

Riot has revealed the next playable agent for Valorant: Chamber, a sentinel character. Chamber got a new cinematic trailer too, and his abilities have been revealed as well. As a sentinel character, Chamber is adept at locking down a zone for his teammates, utilizing his abilities to slow down targets long enough to deal damage with his unique heavy pistol and sniper rifle. Sometimes the best defense is a powerful offense.

Chamber's abilities are listed below. It will be interesting to see how Chamber impacts the in-match meta, given that his Headhunter and Tour de Force abilities mean that he doesn't necessarily have to spend too many credits towards purchasing weapons.

Chamber's Abilities

  • Ability 1: Trademark - Place a trap that scans for enemies. When a visible enemy comes in range, the trap counts down and then destabilizes the terrain around them, creating a lingering field that slows players caught inside of it.
  • Ability 2: Headhunter - Activate to equip a heavy pistol. Alt fire with the pistol equipped to aim down sights.
  • Ability 3: Rendezvous - Place two teleport anchors. While on the ground and in range of an anchor, reactivate to quickly teleport to the other anchor. Anchors can be picked up to be redeployed.
  • Ultimate Ability: Tour de Force - Activate to summon a custom sniper rifle that will kill an enemy with any direct hit. Killing an enemy creates a lingering field that slows players caught inside of it.

Chamber joins Valorant's roster on November 16. He'll be included within Patch 3.10, which is scheduled to go live on November 16, following the start of Valorant Episode 3, Act 3 on November 2. Episode 3, Act 3 adds a new battle pass to Valorant.

Happy Home Paradise is the first paid DLC for New Horizons and is priced at $25. It's one of the main perks of this new aspect of the service, along with access to a selection of N64 and Genesis games.

If you are a subscriber, you can find a download link right on the Happy Home Paradise eShop page--it'll be located in the middle, above the screenshots. Hennig, perhaps best known for her work as head writer and creative director on Naughty Dog's first three Uncharted games, joined Skydance back in 2019. Prior to that, she was working on a highly-anticipated Star Wars title in conjunction with Visceral Games - a long-in-development project which was ultimately cancelled by EA.

What's Your Favorite Horror Game?

2 years 5 months ago

If there’s one thing we all have in common, it’s that we’re scared of something. If you’re saying right now, “I ain’t scared of anything,” well, come on, you know there’s that something that makes your spine shiver. For me, it’s death and suffocating spaces. Oh, and Michael Myers, too. Fortunately, there aren’t any games based on Halloween out there for me to play (although the famed slasher is a playable killer in the excellent asymmetrical multiplayer horror, Dead by Daylight).

However, there’s plenty of games where you die. You can die in most games, though, but the ones that really emphasize those deaths are the ones that leave me shaking in my boots. Add a touch of claustrophobia to the formula and you’ve created my nightmare. My all-time favorite horror game is something some might not necessarily consider a game in that genre, but it spooks me nonetheless: BioShock

Capcom Dubs Resident Evil 3 Remake a 'Hit' After Selling 3.9 Million Copies

2 years 5 months ago

Capcom's pleased with how its 2020 remake of Resident Evil 3 turned out. The publisher called the game (along with Monster Hunter Rise) a "hit" in its annual report published today, and it has the numbers to back it up: the game has sold 3.9 million units.

That's more than its original incarnation, 1999's Resident Evil 3, sold, as it only achieved 3.5 copies. Capcom attributes the remake's success to its digital sales strategy, and incidentally, the remake probably sold a few more than that, as that 3.9 million number comes from March 31 of this year. Understandable, given that we felt it was "another stellar remake of a classic survival horror from Capcom" in our review last year.

In an industry that likes to hide sales numbers whenever possible, Capcom's annual report is always a nice change of pace. As usual, it included an update on sales numbers for several new games, such as Resident Evil Village reaching 4.5 million units sold, as well as publisher-described hit of the year, Monster Hunter Rise, which reached 4.8 million. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne sold 2.4 million in the last fiscal year alone, on top of 5.2 million last fiscal year, not including sales of Monster Hunter World prior to Iceborne.

2 years 5 months ago

Today Cloud Imperium Games released new videos about its growing space simulator Star Citizen.

The first video is a teaser of the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo event that is coming soon, while the second showcases the creation of a space station in the upcoming Pyro System with principal environment artist Josh Van Zuylen.

The Intergalactic Aerospace Expo will kick off on November 19 and will continue until December 1.

It’ll feature a free fly event featuring over 100 vehicles that everyone will be able to try out without needing to pledge for the game, announcements of new ships, and more goodies.

It’ll also include an in-game expo space showcasing the game’s ships, vehicles, and equipment, returning to Microtech for the second year in a row.

As usual, various brands of ships will be flyable on a daily rotation, and we’re going to get humorous videos with Jax McCleary (who Jeremy Clarkson fans may find familiar) and his Stig-like assistant.

Xbox Games With Gold for November 2021 Announced

2 years 5 months ago

Microsoft has revealed the Games With Gold lineup for next month. The lineup includes Moving Out, Kingdom Two Crowns, Rocket Knight, and Lego Batman 2 DC Super Heroes.

Moving Out is a wacky co-op game that takes cues from Overcooked. However, instead of cooking crazy dishes, you're moving furniture out of homes. In our Moving Out review, we said, "Provided you’ve got at least one friend in tow to share the load and the laughs, Moving Out is an absolute blast."

Rocket Knight and Lego Batman 2 were both originally Xbox 360 titles that are available through backwards compatibility. In Rocket Knight, the hero from Sega's Sparkster series returns for a retro action game experience. In Lego Batman 2, the caped crusader is joined by classic Justice League allies like Superman and Wonder Woman. And, Kingdom Two Crowns is a sidescrolling strategy/resource management game with a pixel art aesthetic.

Moving Out will be available the entire month, while Rocket Knight will be free from November 1 to 15, and the other two games will be available from November 16 to 30.

You still have a chance to grab some of the October Games With Gold lineup, including Resident Evil Code: Veronica X.

Call Of Duty: Vanguard PlayStation Exclusive Content Revealed, And It's A Lot

2 years 5 months ago

Sledgehammer Games has announced the various bonuses that PlayStation users will receive for Call of Duty: Vanguard, and there are quite a few.

As posted on the PlayStation Blog and relayed by CharlieIntel below, PlayStation users can look forward to monthly double XP events, extra custom loadout slots, and five tier skips with the Battle Pass bundle. Those playing on a PlayStation console will also receive a new Combat Pack for each new season (PS Plus subscribers only), as well as +25% weapon XP when playing together with friends in a party.

Activision and Sony have a deal in place whereby PlayStation users get access to content before other platforms, and Vanguard is just the latest in the series to carry this tradition forward. Before this, PlayStation got to try Vanguard's Champion Hill mode before anyone else, while the beta was made available first on PlayStation before coming to Xbox and PC later.

CD Projekt pushes all new Cyberpunk 2077 updates and DLC into next year

2 years 5 months ago

Cyberpunk 2077 is nearing its one year anniversary, and it's probably fair to say the last 12 months haven't gone quite as CD Projekt was hoping. One year on, the developer is still struggling to right ship - and save face - following the game's disastrous launch, and a newly revised roadmap for those remedial efforts has now seen all new Cyberpunk 2077 updates and DLC formally pushed into 2022.

While CD Projeckt's development roadmap for Cyberpunk 2077 has never been overly fond of specifics, the studio began 2021 by announcing its troubled RPG would receive "multiple updates and improvements" - including free DLC and the game's long-awaited enhanced edition for next-gen consoles - throughout this year.

Review Roundup For Mario Party Superstars

2 years 5 months ago

Mario Party is back on Nintendo Switch three years after its most recent entry. This time, it comes as Mario Party Superstars, a collection of the decades-old franchise's best mini-games and boards. Reviews have been coming in for Nintendo's latest big first-party title, and so far, critics have had mostly positive things to say about the assortment of Bullet Bill-dodging, bat-swinging, pizza-eating party game.

Critics have largely praised Mario Party Superstars for its family-friendly setup and, for many, nostalgic mix of levels. We weren't quite as high on the game as some others, but ours is just one review of many that tell the story of what will surely be one of Nintendo's biggest games of the holiday season, if only because it's a quieter year for the publisher.

We've rounded up reviews from all across the internet to allow you to get an overview of what Mario Party Superstars does right and wrong. Maybe this will be the party game you pull out during the holidays ahead.

Roblox's Servers Are Back Online [Update]

2 years 5 months ago

Update 11/1: Roblox has come back online, and its outage had nothing to do with Chipotle.

In a blog post, Roblox founder and CEO David Baszucki explained that the multi-day outage was down to "a combination of several factors", none of which were due to external traffic or specific Roblox experiences.

"A core system in our infrastructure became overwhelmed, prompted by a subtle bug in our backend service communications while under heavy load," Baszucki explained. "This was not due to any peak in external traffic or any particular experience. Rather the failure was caused by the growth in the number of servers in our datacenters. The result was that most services at Roblox were unable to effectively communicate and deploy.

"Due to the difficulty in diagnosing the actual bug, recovery took longer than any of us would have liked. Upon successfully identifying this root cause, we were able to resolve the issue through performance tuning, re-configuration, and scaling back of some load. We were able to fully restore service as of this afternoon."

Baszucki reassured that there has been no loss of player data; " your Roblox experience should now be fully back to normal," he said.

With the situation now resolved, Roblox is set to publish a post-mortem about what exactly happened once it has completed an analysis. It will also put together an action plan to prevent such an outage occurring again.

Original story: Roblox is experiencing major server issues, and some fans are blaming Chipotle for the outage.
