New Quintessential Quintuplets Game Will Let You Choose Who Will Receive Futaro’s Confession

2 years 2 months ago

Today Mages announced a second visual novel game building on the story of the popular manga and anime The Quintessential Quintuplets.

The game is titled “Eiga “Gotobun no Hanayome” Kun to Sugoshita Itsutsu no Omoide” which translates to “Movie “The Quintessential Quintuplets” Five Memories With You.”

It’s coming for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on June 2, 2022, and the title should not confuse you. It’s not a movie but a visual novel game.

I’m quite sure almost everyone, while reading the Quintessential Quintuplets manga or watching the anime, had some idea on who they would pursue among the girls.

This game puts you in control, as it starts with the school festival where you decide who Futaro will confess to. Six months later he will come up with the idea of a graduation trip to Okinawa

The trip has a hidden purpose. Futaro believes that, having focused on helping the quintuplets graduate, his relationship with his beloved has progressed slowly. The goal of the trip is to kiss the one he has chosen in order to create a strong bond that can overcome the challenges of a long-distance relationship in the future.

There are 15 different endings in Movie “The Quintessential Quintuplets” Five Memories With You plus a hidden route, so there is plenty of room to forge the story as you like.

Below you can check out a trailer.

OlliOlli World Review – Video Days

2 years 2 months ago

Reviewed on: PlayStation 5

Publisher: Private Division
Developer: Roll7
Release:
Rating: Everyone 10+

Last week, I noticed my hand was sore. I didn't think much of it, mostly because I wasn't sure why it would be hurting. On Monday, while playing OlliOlli World, I found my reason. I'm not sure there's a better way to recommend World than that; it pushed my hands to their limit.

Compared to the previous two OlliOlli games, which could be prohibitively difficult, World is simultaneously an easy-to-approach 2D skateboarding game with an impossibly high skill ceiling. Early on, the game does a great job quickly teaching you the basics of its trick systems (mostly tied to flicking and rotating the left and right thumbsticks) and then getting out of your way, dropping you in levels, giving you objectives, and letting you skate. Within minutes, I was pulling off increasingly large combos, and more importantly, having a fun time doing it. While I never truly got the hang of the first OlliOlli, in World, I felt compelled to continue to learn its systems because the game isn't front-loaded with frustration. Players of all skill levels should be able to find something enjoyable here.

Battlefield 2042 petition demanding refunds on all platforms nears 40k signatures

2 years 2 months ago

A rapidly growing number of Battlefield 2042 players have signed a petition demanding refunds for their purchase of EA's troubled shooter, accusing the publisher of "false advertising" and of launching the game in an "unplayable" state.

It has, of course, been a bumpy few months for Battlefield 2042; just days after its release last November, the DICE-developed shooter gained the unenviable accolade of being one of Steam's worst-reviewed games of all time. Eurogamer's Martin Robinson was equally damning, going as far as to call its launch "a disaster", writing, "Since Battlefield 2042 went live on Friday, I've endured hard crashes, server problems and whole nights where the whole thing is simply unplayable...This is another Battlefield that's launching in a sorry state."

Semantle is hard mode Wordle, powered by a Google neural network

2 years 2 months ago

In many ways, Semantle is hard mode Wordle. Gone is the simplified dictionary and five-letter limit, meaning words can be any type and length, and gone is any indication of correctly guessed letters or positions.

Instead, you've got two new helpers: the ability to make infinite guesses, and a neural network able to learn word associations telling you how close, conceptually, you are to the correct answer. I've yet to find the solution in fewer than 50 guesses.

Bandai Namco is building a £96m interconnected "IP metaverse"

2 years 2 months ago

2022 so far: if you're not being clobbered with an NFT, you're being smacked in the chops by a metaverse, and the latest company to hop aboard the latter train is Bandai Namco, which is building a £96m virtual space where customers can experience "entertainment on an IP axis".

As spotted by VGC, Bandai Namco made the announcement as part of its newly released mid-term plan spanning April 2022 to March 2025. In the document, the publisher introduces a recolour of its previously revealed new speech-bubble-inspired logo (said to express "the potential of the brand to connect with people around the world through dreams, fun and inspiration") alongside an initial outline for what it's calling its new "IP axis strategy".

Sifu Review – A Test Of Resolve

Reviewed on: PlayStation 5

Publisher: Sloclap
Developer: Sloclap
Release:
Rating: Mature

Mastering a martial art takes years – if not a lifetime. Disciples must hone their bodies to the point that they perform every attack, every counter, every movement with pinpoint precision. A skilled warrior must move without thinking. Likewise, mastering Sifu's combat system takes a high degree of dedication and practice. Like a true martial artist, you must push through the practice pains before you reap any rewards.

In 2017, Sloclap released the martial arts-themed action/RPG Absolver, which let players design their own combat system as they battled other online players in a unique fantasy world. Absolver suffered from its barren environments and uninspired quest design, but its core combat was solid. Sloclap's follow-up game sharpens that combat system around a more focused single-player adventure. The premise is promising, though the execution is flawed.

PS5 Beta Will Let Participants Test New Party Chat Options, Voice Command, And More

2 years 2 months ago

Sony is beta testing some new customization features for PlayStation 5 users based on feedback from the players. The new software beta is kicking off tomorrow, and it includes new party chat options, game base enhancements, accessibility options, and UI features.

As announced on the PlayStation Blog, Sony detailed the new features coming to the console. First, Sony said there are new changes to the Parties system on PS5. Players will now be able to start an open party, which all of your friends can see and join, or a closed party exclusively for players you invite.

PlayStation 4 players will also be able to control individual voice chat volume for every person in a party, which is already a feature on PS5.

Sony is also making changes to the Game Base, which is the PS5 menu where you set up parties, invite friends, and see messages. Now, it will be divided into three menu tabs: friends, parties, and messages. PlayStation says this should give players faster access to find what they're looking for.

As for UI features, you'll be able to sort your game collection by genre. Previous sorting options were limited to alphabetical order and recently played games.

There's also an option to keep up to five games and apps locked to your home screen, so they don't get pushed off the page if you haven't opened them recently.

America's Army is Shutting Down After 20 Years

2 years 2 months ago

America's Army: Proving Grounds, the video game used as a recruitment tool for the United States military, will shut down on March 5 after more than 20 years on various platforms. As first reported by Vice, It will be delisted from Steam and PSN, and online matches will cease to be hosted. Offline and private matches will still be available.

America's Army is a first-person shooter released in 2002 and developed and published by the U.S. Army. The game was explicitly designed to encourage American citizens to join the United States military, and represented the United States' government's first major use of video games as a recruitment tool, as well as being a free-to-play game long before such a term became standard practice in the video game industry.

America's Army released in three major iterations throughout the years, updating content and gameplay for an audience of 20 million players. Proving Ground was the latest version, released in 2013.

"The free-to-play America’s Army PC Game represented the first large-scale use of game technology by the U.S. government as a platform for strategic communication and recruitment, and the first use of game technology in support of U.S. Army recruiting," a forum post announcing the shutdown said. "Three mainline titles and more than 20 million AA players later, the series’ original purpose continued. There have been over 30 million objectives completed, 180 million successful missions accomplished, 250 million teammates assisted, and many more in-game achievements attained in AA:PG alone."

Ganyu Can Be an Easy Character to Build in Genshin Impact

2 years 2 months ago

Ganyu is an Easy Genshin Impact Character to Build

Each time you get a new character in Genshin Impact, you’re also getting a to-do list. Depending on how far along you are in the game, it could be days or weeks until that person is usable. Especially if you didn’t dedicate time to saving up ahead of pulling them. But fortunately some are easier to work with than others. Ganyu is a good example, as she isn’t as difficult to build up for regular usage as other folks in-game.

First, it’s easy to gather materials for Ganyu. She uses the Whopperflower nectar drops for her ascensions and talents. Which is easy to find, given the enemies are found frequently in Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma. Her other major material is the Qingxin. Now, at launch this flower could be annoying to farm. Like the Liyue, it grows on cliffs and mountains in Liyue. Now you can grow it in the Serenitea Pot, making it much easier to collect and stock up. To ascend her, you’ll need Hoarfrost Cores. The Cryo Regisvine is one of the easiest normal bosses in the game, which makes collecting those simples. Which makes the Golden House’s boss fight to collect Shadow of the Warrior items for her talents the most taxing item to collect at this point.

George R. R. Martin was Aware of Dark Souls Before Working on Elden Ring

In a new interview with GamesRadar, FromSoftware President and Elden Ring Director and Writer Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed George R. R. Martin was familiar with the company’s work ahead of the project. In particular, he mentioned the writer already knew about Dark Souls. He also discussed the sort of work the author did for the game. Not long after its reveal, FromSoftware noted Martin would work on its lore.

Here is the statement Miyazaki offered GamesRadar, which noted George R. R. Martin was familiar with FromSoftware’s work on Dark Souls before getting started on Elden Ring.

Yes, I have some good memories of those initial discussions. Not so much for the content but just the general feelings I had speaking with George Martin. He actually knew about the Dark Souls games. He was aware of them and what they were about, so that made me happy. That sort of gave me a little bit of a boost. I knew immediately from talking to him, it just became apparent his skill and his passion for the fantasy genre, and for games as well.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Vidoc Gives a Closer Look at New Areas, Crafting, Glaives, Void Update, & More

2 years 2 months ago

Bungie released its traditional pre-expansion vidoc to give everyone a nice final helping of info before The Witch Queen launches on Feb. 22. The vidoc covers a lot of ground in its roughly 14-minute runtime.

Primarily, you get a good look at some of the new areas you’ll be visiting in Savanthun’s throne world and a taste of what the story will be about. Apparently, her throne world is a mix of thoughts she’s trying to push away, namely her old Hive life, and what she now wants her throne world to be now that she has control of the Light.

To me, everywhere looks dreary, so not really sure what her problem is, but whatever. We’ll be working closely with the allied-Cabal to try and suppress the Lucent Hive, and hopefully Zavala and Caiatl’s weird brewing sexual tension, too.

Of course, there will be lots of new Light-powered Lucent Hive to contend with. They will be our most challenging opponent to date and Bungie claims they will be even more fearsome in the new Legendary campaign mode. Bungie is calling this their most ambitious campaign in years (I guess since Forsaken), and Legendary is being touted as not for the faint of heart with mechanics that you might find in a dungeon.

Apex Legends Season 12 Defiance: Maggie Kit, Olympus Map Changes, and Patch Notes Details

2 years 2 months ago

Apex Legends season 12 Defiance is here and, as usual, there’s a lot to cover. If you’re interested in how the new limited-time mode Control plays I have a whole other article on that that you can check out. But let’s cover the new Legend Mad Maggie and all the map and gun changes coming to Season 12.

To start, Apex is having its third anniversary and there’ll be free rewards for every player logging on during the first three weeks of Season 12. All you have to do is log in during February 8th and March 1st to unlock your rewards. With the three year anniversary, Season 12 will feature map rotations of Olympus, Storm Point, and Kings Canyon for the Casual playlist and will have Olympus for Split 1 of Ranked and Kings Canyon for Split 2.

Olympus/Stormpoint Map Changes

With these rotations, there have been some massive changes to Olympus and smaller adjustments to Storm Point to help balance the maps. Olympus’ Phase Runner was hacked and the city almost crashed into the planet below after the city was phased to a new location. Olympus is a bit bigger than before and some new POIs have been added offering better rotation and loot pool options. There’s now a Phase Driver in the spot between Bonsai and Hydroponics which offers more options for rotations out of the Southern areas. The Phase Driver can be interacted with and when it’s activated, 3 loot rollers will phase in and at least one Gold-Tier ball is guaranteed each activation. This can be activated again but only after a 45 second cooldown. But each time you boot up the Phase Driver, it’ll emit a loud noise and alert teams to your location.
