Added to the game with the Bloody Hunt update, Desolate Lands is an endgame PvE mode that’s designed to give players a bit more control over how they want to upgrade their Relics. The Visage Shield explained

The Visage Shield is a greatshield that requires 44 Strength to wield. It blocks 100% of physical damage and has unusually high resistances to most forms of magic, too, making it an incredible choice--provided you can cope with its massive equip weight. You can also hold down its skill Tongues of Fire, which sprays fire jets in front of you while you walk forward that may deter enemies from pushing in on you.

The Visage Shield's item description reads:

Tricksome bronze shield depicting the face of a Fire Giant. Several tongues leap from its open mouth. The dreadful visage and burning flames are designed to remind one of the horror of facing a Fire Giant. In other words, this shield has an instructional function.

Where to find the Visage Shield

The Visage Shield can be found within the Caelem Ruins in Caelid. On the eastern side of the ruins is a set of stairs leading down to the cellar, but getting the shield won't be as easy as opening a chest. Instead, you'll have to face off against a duo of Mad Pumpkin Head bosses in a very small and enclosed space.

Atlus released one of its daily trailers of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, focusing on one of the demons that will be featured in the game.

This time we get to take a look at Yurlungur, a demon that has been part of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise pretty much forever and also appeared in the recent Shin Megami Tensei V.

Like most daily trailers, we also get the daily horoscope, which sees Aries at the top of the fortune ranking and Libra at the bottom.

Soul Hackers 2 releases for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam and Windows Store) on August 26, just one day after the Japanese launch on August 25.

Following the announcement of the Lollipop Chainsaw Remake, producer and Dragami Games CEO Yoshimi Yasuda took to Twitter to explain some relevant points.

Yasuda-san explained that the primary goal is to make the game available on modern platforms, not to make a new Lollipop Chainsaw game.

The ideal solution would have been to simply remaster the original game without changing anything, but the developer isn’t able to use 16 licensed songs. For that reason, Dragami Games is aiming to create a remake that’s as close as possible to a remaster.

The original story will not be changed, and the same goes for the aesthetics of the game. The mention of a “more realistic look” was simply meant to indicate the use of more advanced rendering technology available in current consoles.

By the same token, Juliet’s character design will not be changed.

Yasuda-san also acknowledged that many fans may be worried about censorship. While Dragami Games has not talked with the platform holders just yet, they intend to negotiate with them to be able to make the game as close as possible to the original.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite, developer Cold Iron Studios' co-op shooter spin-on the beloved sci-fi movie series, is getting a new seasonal update on 26th July, bringing crossplay, a new progression system, a new game mode, and more.

Come Season 4's arrival, players on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation will be able to band together in order to quell the Xenomorph threat, which should help bolster the available pool of potential cohorts for faster matchmaking.

Crossplay will be accompanied by a new game mode - known as Restock Turrets - which does pretty much exactly what its name implies, challenging players to keep their turrets stocked in order to defend their position and fight off Xenomorph waves.

Weapon skins in Valorant are a hotly debated topic, especially when it comes to what bundles and specific skins players deem worthy enough to spend their money on. The Prelude to Chaos bundle will be departing the store soon, meaning that the next skin bundle available for purchase will be cycled into the shop, presenting players with a new opportunity to own the newest cosmetic items from Riot.

Furthermore, with patch 5.01 arriving later today, Valorant fans have been eager to see what’s new in the first update to the game in nearly a month. The new Sarmad bundle features skins for the Phantom, Vandal, Frenzy, Spectre, and introduces the first two-handed melee weapon in the game.

The pre-order pages for Bayonetta 3 have been updated with an ESRB rating, potentially solidifying Platinum Games' past assurances that the game will release in 2022.

As spotted by Resetera user vestan, the official Nintendo store page for Bayonetta 3 has been updated with a rating. The poster also took a look on the Way-Back Machine and found that the page had displayed a “rating pending” designation before recently. The listing has yet to appear on the ESRB official website. However, the Nintendo store page details that the game has been rated M for violence, blood and gore, partial nudity, and strong language.

After an initial announcement teaser in 2018, no further information about Bayonetta 3 was released for more than three years. Despite repeated assurances from developer Platinum that development was going well, fans got nervous as the game continued to be a no-show across industry events. A Nintendo Direct in 2021 showed off gameplay footage and promised a 2022 release for the character action game. Nevertheless, the COVID-19 pandemic, along with a host of other factors, caused and is still causing delays of major titles. It was easy to worry that Bayonetta 3 will fall to the same fate.

The physical edition of the game for PS5 will include not only the game itself but also six full-color art cards.

The exclusive edition will include the game, a premium matte black sleeve with holofoil spécialité, an oversized poster, six premium art cards, and a fuzzy, pettable chenille patch of the feline hero. This edition costs $44.99.

Relic Entertainment and Sega announced today that Company of Heroes 3 will release on Steam on November 17, 2022. An free-to-play, Pre-Alpha mission will preview a new campaign and the game's new features.

Alongside the release date, a second single-player campaign was revealed: the North African Operation. In contrast to the previously announced Italian Dynamic Campaign, the North African Operation is a more traditional RTS campaign, offering up a set of missions rather than branching paths. With it also comes new mechanics, like tank riding, side armor, and enemy vehicle recovery, alongside new units, like the Guastatori combat engineers and the L6/40 Light Tank. More broadly, the Company of Heroes 3 will launch with both the aforementioned single-player modes, multiplayer, and four playable factions.

If you are interested in trying it out, you can sign up for developer Relic’s community feedback program on the Company of Heroes website. This Mission Alpha will put players in control of the Deutsches Afrikakorps as they try to defend their positions from the British. If you’ve already signed up for any of the previous Pre-Alpha builds, Mission Alpha will automatically appear in your Steam library. It will be available to play on Steam from July 12 to July 19.

Playing older consoles on new TVs can be a hassle for many reasons, but one of the worst is that they don’t look good. Even newer devices that max out at HD resolutions like the Nintendo Switch will look fuzzy on large 4K or 1440p displays, and retro consoles will often be too blurry to play (if they can even connect to the TV in the first place).

However, an HDMI upscaler like Marseille’s mClassic can solve all these problems.

You’d normally spend $99 for the mClassic, but it's on sale for just $79 during Prime Day. That’s a pretty good deal for this simple dongle that can make your old and under-powered gaming devices look better.

Tomonobu Itagaki - the Japanese designer best known for creating Tecmo's Dead or Alive series and rebooted Ninja Gaiden games - has announced his new company Apex Game Studios, which is currently 'incubating' an NFT-focused MMORPG for mobile and PC named Warrior.

Itagaki shared his announcement on Twitter, explaining Apex Game Studios would specialise in creating "high-quality and immersive" triple-A "Web3" titles - Web 3.0 being the umbrella term incorporating (frequently controversial) technologies such as blockchain and NFT.

Apex Game Studios' first project, Warrior, is an MMORPG developed in Unreal Engine that's due to launch in Q1 next year. Unfortunately, details remain pretty limited at this juncture, with the official website being primarily interested in detailing the NFT economy at Warrior's core.

Earlier this week, Gamertag Radio podcast host Danny Peña announced he’s creating a children’s book all about the love of video games. Titled Danny Loves Video Games, the book is set to release in Fall 2022 and is based on the author’s experiences and love of gaming growing up.

The news was announced during an exclusive interview with NBC LX, where Peña talks about founding the podcast, as well as his experience with gaming in his youth.

Danny Peña founded Gamertag Radio back in 2005 with Peter Toledo and Parris Lilly. Since its inception, the show has filmed over 1200 episodes, featuring notable guests such as former Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aimé, Xbox head Phil Spencer, and many more.

He goes on to detail his success and being the first Latino inducted to the Podcast hall-of-fame a bit more below:
