Besiege Leaves Steam Early Access Today After Five Years

4 years 2 months ago

Medieval strategy game Besiege is officially launching on PC today after five years of being in the Steam Early Access program.

The game allows players to create their own medieval destruction machines to crush soldiers and fortresses with a combination of mechanical parts, weights, and physics.

The game includes Workshop support so players can download others’ creations, though some players were able to make some incredible machines right after the Steam Early Access launch.

Besiege originally launched on Steam Early Access in January 2015, and the 1.0 update finally launched today after five years in the program.

The 1.0 update adds the final island, Krolmar, to the single-player campaign alongside a new category of blocks dealing with logic and automation. The four new blocks allow players to perform several actions in a machine with one button press, or perform it when the machine reaches a certain altitude, sensor, or time.

Developer Spiderling Studios says it plans to continue working on the game with improvements and prototyping experimental features.

Besiege is currently 50% off its regular price of $9.99 until Tuesday, Feb. 25. After the launch sale ends, the game will increase in price as per the developer’s early access plans.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct Coming This Week

4 years 2 months ago

The Nintendo of America Twitter account has announced that there will be a live-streamed Direct airing later this week. It will feature the upcoming game Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The Direct will take place on Feb. 20 at 9 a.m. EST, and it will last for approximately 25 minutes. It will give an in-depth look at Nook Inc.’s Deserted Island Getaway Package, which is the in-game reason for the player character to build his or her home on Tom Nook’s island.

Fans of the Animal Crossing series have been hungry for more news ever since the last trailer aired in the form of a commercial back in early January. Since then, the only news has been the announcement of an Animal Crossing themed Nintendo Switch console, which is set to release on March 13.

There’s still a lot that we don’t know about the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so it will be interesting to see what Nintendo plans to reveal in the Direct. As we have seen in the past, a lot of information can be packed into a 25-minute spotlight, especially when it focuses on a single game.

If you are thinking about getting the game, you should know that Target is offering a pre-order bonus in the form of an adorable Animal Crossing themed journal. You can also visit Nintendo’s website if you would like to learn more about the game.

Pokemon Go Is Bringing Hatchable Fossil Pokemon to 7K Eggs

4 years 2 months ago

Out of nowhere, there seems to be a mini-event going on in Pokemon GO featuring fossil Pokemon hatching from 7K eggs.

These ancient Pokemon who were previously available in 2K, 5K, and 10K eggs are now only found in 7K eggs. Also, Riolu will return to 10K eggs effective immediately since the gifted eggs can now only produce fossil Pokemon.

This isn’t the first time that there have been special events focused on the 7K eggs you receive from gifts. The only difference is that this temporary change came out of nowhere.

Unlike other hatching events, there are no boosts in incubator effectiveness. Likewise, there’s no stardust or candy boost to speak of here. For now, it just seems to be a change in what Pokemon can hatch from 7K eggs.

The list of fossil Pokemon that are now hatching from these pink and yellow eggs is literally all of the fossils that are currently in the game. Here is that full list:

  • Omanyte
  • Kabuto
  • Aerodactyl
  • Lileep
  • Anorith
  • Cranidos
  • Shieldon
  • Tirtouga
  • Archen

While most of these Pokemon will now take longer to hatch, this event will decrease the distance it takes to hatch a Tirtouga or Archen from 10K to 7K.

Thanks to the increased amount of candy you get for hatching Pokemon this will be a great way to work on your fossil collection. This should also make it easier to obtain more Tirtouga and Archen candies to evolve them into Carracosta and Archeops.

As of right now, we’re not quite sure how long it will run. The official release closed by saying that Spark is on the case so we’ll likely hear more soon.

Google Stadia Adds Support For More Mobile Devices

4 years 2 months ago

Google Stadia hasn’t enjoyed the smoothest of launches. Quite apart from a less than impressive library of games, a host of missing features has made its first few months on the market feel more like a beta than a proper release. Today, however, Google is taking a much-needed positive step by adding more robust support for mobile devices.

From Feb. 20, users will be able to enjoy Stadia on more than just Google’s Pixel family of smartphones. The service will support devices from Samsung, ASUS, and Razer.

The complete list of new compatible phones includes:

  • Samsung Galaxy S8
  • Samsung Galaxy S8+
  • Samsung Galaxy S8 Active
  • Samsung Galaxy Note8
  • Samsung Galaxy S9
  • Samsung Galaxy S9+
  • Samsung Galaxy Note9
  • Samsung Galaxy S10
  • Samsung Galaxy S10E
  • Samsung Galaxy S10+
  • Samsung Galaxy Note10
  • Samsung Galaxy Note10+
  • Samsung Galaxy S20
  • Samsung Galaxy S20+
  • Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra
  • Razer Phone
  • Razer Phone 2
  • ASUS ROG Phone
  • ASUS ROG Phone II

Today’s news comes by way of a community blog post over on Stadia’s official page.

Frustrated with Stadia’s lackluster release, Twinfinite recently compiled a wishlist of five games that we think would make the service much more competent. You can check it out here.

Total Madman Hits LVL 99 in Final Fantasy Tactics Using Only the First Map; Here’s How He Did It

4 years 2 months ago

I love Square’s classic tactical-RPG Final Fantasy Tactics as much as the next person, but a Reddit user by the name of DividingPrescott either loves it way more than me, or at least has the patience and time of a god.

Recently posted on r/finalfantasytactics DividingPrescott, who self identifies as a “sick, sick boi”, showed off his most recent accomplishment: getting every main character and supporting character to level 99 using only the first map of the game.

It goes without saying that this took a ton of time and must have been a massive grind, but it’s even more than that. In random battles the enemies scale up to you and remain challenging however; DividingPrescott doesn’t have access to shops to get new equipment yet. Meaning he’s stuck using whatever weapons and armor he has at the beginning of the game.

DividingPrescott describes how he did it in a reply to a commenter also wondering how in his Reddit thread:

Just a lot of time and grinding. The hardest part is that the monsters level with you, but your gear doesn’t get any better.

Make sure you always have a way to resurrect party members.

The squire ability, focus, is the key for most the grind. You just focus. Forever. Eventually arithmetics and dance/song can replace fundements. Sometimes I had a character with martial arts. Never really bothered with any other secondary ability.

Jp up is required. Shirahadori on all my characters too. Move-jp is nice but moving usually takes more time than it’s worth for the jp, so I just camp my characters in a corner.

Xbox One Sale Discounts EA, Ubisoft, and Anime Games

4 years 2 months ago

Right now there are several sales going on on the digital Xbox store that feature heavily discounted titles from EA and Ubisoft as well as a sale on Anime games and another sale that discounts video games that star animals –there’s a lot happening at the moment.

As for the EA Publisher Sale, you can grab Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for $44.99, The Sims 4 for $9.99, FIFA 20 for $23.99, Titanfall 2 for $4.49, and even the not-so-great Anthem for only $8.99; considering that Anthem will be getting overhauled pretty soon, it’s not a bad idea to buy it now while it’s dirt-cheap.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ “Bad Batch” Clip Teases Defective Clones Storyline

4 years 2 months ago

Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ anticipated final season is earning acclaim so far, and today we have a new clip teeing up the storyline of the next episode, The Bad Batch. It’s set to feature an experimental group of defective clones that Captain Rex has called upon in his quest to thwart the onslaught of the Republic.

Disney describes the episode’s storyline:

“It’s the end of the historic Clone Wars, as the forces of darkness have amassed great power in their bid to transform the Republic into the Galactic Empire. With the Republic on a losing streak, Captain Rex fears the Separatists are using stolen data to help predict the Grand Army’s every move.

As the threat of defeat looms, Rex teams up with experimental Clone Force 99, also known as the Bad Batch. New Destiny 2 Cutscene Has Everyone Wondering What Rasputin is Saying

4 years 2 months ago

Today, kind of out of nowhere, Bungie teased the next story beat that may be coming next season during Season of the Worthy (or perhaps even further down the line), and it appears like we’re going to be merging a few of the loose threads from season 1 together.

Spoiler Warning: We’re going to show and talk about the cutscene now. We’ll put in the video form via iiDutchboyy below for you to see right now if you want, but if you prefer to log into Destiny 2 and see it on your TV the way Bungie intended go ahead and do that first and then come back.

OK, so first question: What the F? Second question: What did Rasputin say at the end there? Did he even say anything at all? Let’s break the cutscene down.

So we have our pal Osiris, who is finally allowed to do things now, poking around Rasputin’s home on Mars. We haven’t really heard much from the super AI Warmind since Destiny 2: Warmind’s story campaign where we teamed up with Ana Bray to bring him back online proper in spite of the Vanguard and especially Commander Zavala’s trepidation for doing so.

You Can Essentially Control the Thing From the Addams Family Thanks to This VR Concept

4 years 2 months ago

Even if you’re someone who’s not familiar with The Addams Family, you’ve probably seen the Thing sometime in your life –it’s that ghoulish-looking hand that moves on its own that’s disconnected from a human body and someone has basically created a proof of concept of a VR game that lets you control said hand.

push_matrix on Reddit posted this GIF earlier today to the gaming subreddit and asked folks if they would play a VR game where you could essentially throw your hand to solve tricky puzzles.

Of course, you wouldn’t actually be throwing your controller across the room (that’s just dangerous) but you would instead perform a throwing motion and then let the hand-tracking take care of the rest.

You can see the short video down below showing how the concept would work with a player “throwing” their right hand to hit a big red button that sits on a small table that then opens up a door:

What isn’t typical, though, is the addition of what would appear to be some pretty major changes unlisted in the actual patch notes.

As spotted users over on ResetEra, there appears to be a new class of organic ship buried within the patch. Thanks to ResetEra user FreezePeach for snapping the below images.

Empire of Sin Delayed From Spring Release Window

4 years 2 months ago

Paradox Interactive and Romero Games’ upcoming strategy/tactics game Empire of Sin has been delayed, the two companies confirmed in a press release today. It was originally slated for a spring release, but that’s now moved to the fall. The pair cites needing more time to realize its ambitious vision for Empires of Sin as reason for the delay.

Paradox Interactive’s CEO Ebba Ljungerud said of today’s news:

“We at Paradox Interactive, along with our partners at Romero Games, have an ambitious vision for Empire of Sin, and decided together that more development time is needed.

This will allow us to deliver the game that our community deserves and meets our standards.”

Brenda Romero of Romero Games also weighed in:

“The challenge in making a game like no one has made before is exactly that – making a game no one has made before. It takes time to get everything right and presents us with some unique opportunities. I am grateful we are taking the additional time to polish.

The support and enthusiasm our community has shown thus far for Empire of Sin is incredible. We hope that once you’re let loose in Chicago and see the world we’ve created, you’ll believe it was worth the wait!”

For those not up to speed with Empire of Sin, the game puts you at the heart of Prohibition-era Chicago, showcasing the glitz and glamor of the roaring 20s through the lens of an organized crime syndicate. It’s up to you to pull the strings, manage your gang and dominate your neighborhood.

To check out more on how it plays, you can watch Empire of Sin’s most recent gameplay trailer here.

The Time Is Now for Pokemon Stadium on Switch

4 years 2 months ago

A lot can change in twenty years.

At the turn of the millennium, Pokemon’s popularity was at its apex. Gold and Silver built on the foundation that had been laid by the original games (as well as, let’s face it, fixing its many broken mechanics), and the pocket monsters looked slicker than ever on our tiny Game Boy screens.

That being said, the one thing we truly, desperately wanted, was for a fully-fledged Pokemon title to arrive on home consoles. Sure, it would come at the sacrifice of the franchise’s ‘battle anywhere, trade anywhere’ appeal, but the idea that we could see our beloved Lugias and Hoothoots in robust, polygonal glory was incredibly enticing.

The compromise, at the time, came in the form of Pokemon Stadium, a home console title that focused entirely on battling. When the first Stadium dropped on the Nintendo 64, I distinctly remember the thrill I felt seeing these beloved critters come to life. My Raichu sprung onto the field with a resounding shriek, ready to duel against my sister’s Rapidash.

Said Raichu was resoundingly shut down by Fire Spin, unable to land a single hit as we watched it slowly die in a pillar of flames. Again, gen 1 doing gen 1 things.

Sega is celebrating the decade milestone of two cult classics with the release of the Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle. It’s today prepared a new launch trailer for the anticipated package, which showcases the remastered games in action on PS4 and Xbox One in 4K/60 FPS.

The remasters have been put together by the Texas-based Armature Studio, in partnership with the games’ original developer, Platinum Games. Armature Studio highlights the bundle’s key takeaways in a statement included with today’s press release:

“Armature Studio has partnered with PlatinumGames and Sega of America to port Bayonetta and Vanquish to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, keeping the stylized, intense action and unique visuals of each game intact while increasing the framerate to 60 FPS, and supporting 4K resolutions on the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro.

Sayonara Wild Hearts Is Coming to Xbox One

4 years 2 months ago

Annapurna Interactive and Simogo have announced that the pop album arcade game, Sayonara Wild Hearts, will be coming to Xbox One on Feb. 25. The news was revealed via an announcement trailer on Annapurna’s YouTube channel and on Twitter.

Sayonara Wild Hearts is a sort of rhythm arcade game that has you going through a variety of levels, with each one representing a different song on the fantastic soundtrack. Some levels will have you riding motorcycles and skateboards while others will put you on a dragon and place a sword in your hand.

After a young woman goes through a terrible breakup, she finds herself in this colorful and vibrant dream world where she discovers another version of herself with a mask.

I reviewed Sayonara Wild Hearts when it launched on Apple Arcade last year and had a fantastic time with the music-based arcade title.

The title will be out on Xbox One at the end of the month but you can also purchase it on Switch, PS4, and PC. And if you’re an Apple Arcade subscriber, you can play it on your Apple devices as well.

Kingdom Hearts III & Yakuza 0 Highlight an Insane February for Xbox Game Pass on Console & PC

4 years 2 months ago

Every time that Xbox Game Pass has a month like February 2020 I always wonder how this console generation would have been so different if the Xbox One had this from the start, or at least early on.

February 2020’s full list of Xbox Game Pass games, especially for console, is just bonkers; doubly if you’re a fan of great Japanese games.

Xbox Game Pass for console will receive the following games:

  • Feb. 20: Ninja Gaiden II
  • Feb. 25: Kingdom Hearts 3
  • Feb. 25: Two Point Hospital
  • Feb. 25: Wasteland Remastered
  • Feb. 26: Yakuza 0
  • Feb. 27: Jackbox Party Pack 3

Xbox Game Pass for PC is similar but has a few changes considering Kingdom Hearts III isn’t available on PC at all. No dates are listed for these, just “Coming Soon.”:

  • Indivisible
  • Reigns: Game of Thrones
  • Two Point Hospital
  • Wasteland Remastered
  • Yakuza 0

Finally, we learned what games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass sometime this month. For PC it’s just the 3D platformer Snake Pass. As for console:

  • Fallout 3
  • Just Cause 4
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Snake Pass
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
  • Batman: Return to Arkham – Arkham City
  • Batman: Return to Arkham – Arkham Asylum

Most games bought via Xbox Game Pass are discounted by 20%, so if you’re currently playing any of these games and want to keep playing them, you can at least get a decent amount off for it.

6 Ways Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Can Fend Off Apex Legends Season 4

4 years 2 months ago

New Weapons

fortnite harpoon gun

If there’s one thing that’s been really noticeable as part of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1, it’s been the stripped-back arsenal of weapons we’ve had in comparison to past seasons.

Where in previous seasons there were about three or four different types of Assault Rifle, numerous shotguns, SMGs, launchers, and weird and wonderful weapons for players to use, Chapter 2 simplified everything. There’s no longer half as many weapons, but it has somewhat simplified the pros and cons of each weapon in different combat scenarios. Though we’re still not over the loss of the beloved Hunting Rifle. F… F.

Chapter 2 Season 1’s not been completely devoid of new additions to the roster of weapons. The Harpoon Gun made its debut, offering a faster way to fish, as well as deal damage to your opponents. Sidegrading also introduced the Heavy Assault Rifle, albeit in a limited fashion (you can only get it from sidegrading).

Fire Emblem’s Cindered Shadows DLC Makes an Already Great Game Even Better

4 years 2 months ago

Just last week, Fire Emblem: Three Houses got its biggest update yet. The new patch introduced a few quality of life changes for the base game, and also came packed with the brand new Cindered Shadows DLC for Expansion Pass holders. You might already know this, but it’s a good ass DLC.

Introducing a new, secret fourth House called the Ashen Wolves, Cindered Shadows gives players access to four new characters and classes, and they all mostly add new freshness and depth to what was already a very dense RPG.

The new story scenario itself is also a hefty affair, taking me about eight hours to complete on Normal Classic difficulty. The side story is completely separate from the main campaign, giving players a set party of characters including all three House leaders, and a student rep from each House as well. In addition to that, you get the Ashen Wolves themselves, and they sure are a special bunch.

Cindered Shadows kicks off with the most cliched of openings: Byleth and the three leaders spot a shady figure disappearing through a hole in the wall that leads to the basement of the church, and they decide to pursue. Once inside, they meet the four Ashen Wolves who automatically assume that you’re there to kill them, and so you fight.

Somehow, through the heat of battle, they learn that your intentions are actually pure, so you stop fighting and become friends. This is when Byleth learns of the Abyss, an underground society dedicated to those shunned by the surface and that need help. The story then sends you on a journey to find a long lost Chalice that can resurrect the dead, and uncover the mysteries surrounding this artifact.

It’s a very basic setup, and the plot itself is a bit predictable. But as we all know, it’s the characters and the way they interact with each other that make up the backbone of a Fire Emblem game.

Game Freak RPG, Little Town Hero, Coming to PS4 This Summer in the West

4 years 2 months ago

NIS America has announced that it will be publishing Game Freak’s RPG, Little Town Hero, for the PS4 with some added features.

The Big Idea Edition on PS4 will include an art book, poster, lapel pin set, and official soundtrack CD with music composed by Toby Fox.

There will also be an easy mode added to the game that lowers the attack and defense of enemy Dazzits and special effects from enemies will show up less often. A big complaint of the original game on Switch was that the boss battles were extremely long and difficult so this update should remedy those issues.

Our reviews editor, Zhiqing Wan, wasn’t a huge fan of Game Freak’s new RPG, scoring the game a 2.5/5 which is a “poor” on Twinfinite’s rating scale. Here’s what she had to say about it:

Little Town Hero’s soundtrack is easily its saving grace, because it’s stellar, which is to be expected from the composer of Undertale and Deltarune, Toby Fox. Even then, it’s certainly not the strongest collection of music we’ve seen from him, with more than a handful of tracks that are often just mind-numbingly grating and repetitive.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2’s Latest Teaser Hints at Dynamite’s Return

4 years 2 months ago

Epic Games is continuing to roll out the teasers for the upcoming Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, and this time it’s hinting at the return of the previously-vaulted Dynamite.

The teaser comes to us via the same way that the other ones have. It was posted on the official Fortnite Twitter account not long after the previous ones, that you can check out here.

As you can see from the image above, it doesn’t really tell us a whole lot else other than that Dynamite is making its return. The words surrounding it are all translations of the word ‘danger.’ These various translations may be a nod to the ARG that Fortnite has currently got going on, too.

Players have noticed phone numbers in random advertising popping up around the world. Phoning these numbers from a local landline results in a voice clip being played, often talking about ‘Agents.’

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Teases Continue to Hint at Map Changes & a Golden Touch

4 years 2 months ago

We’re just a couple of days away from Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 starting, and Epic Games has kickstarted its hype-building efforts with Twitter teases and even a real-life alternate reality game (ARG).

The teases first started dropping yesterday on Twitter around 10:00 AM ET. Simply showing off the golden hand with the words ‘Transmission Intercepted,’ it was pretty vague.

A couple of hours later, another tease dropped. This time, we got a few floating bits of gold, what look like contour lines, and some more detail in the background.

Nintendo Announces New Coral Switch Lite, Goes on Sale in March

4 years 2 months ago

When Nintendo first announced the Switch Lite last year, it came in three eye-catching colors: turquoise, yellow, and grey. They were all beautiful-looking pastel colors, and considering the company’s track record with releasing new colors and designs for their consoles, it’s no surprise that they’d have another one in store for the Switch Lite.

A new coral colored variant has been announced for the console, and it looks just as aesthetically pleasing as its turquoise and yellow brethren. While it hasn’t been officially announced for the west yet, it should only be a matter of time before it comes over as well.

For now, we only have pricing and release date details for Japan. Pre-orders are set to go live on the official Nintendo Japan website on March 7, and the console itself will be officially released on March 20.

You can check out some images of the coral Switch Lite in the gallery down below:

Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story Gets New Trailer Showing Combat and Multiplayer

Today Spike Chinsoft released a brand new and extensive trailer of its upcoming game Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story.

The trailer revolves around two major aspects of the title, its isometric hack & slash combat, and its online multiplayer.

Multiplayer is quite interesting, as players are allowed to either collaborate or compete and there seem to be a lot of room for mind games and betrayal if you’re co inclined.

Incidentally, we also get another glimpse at the story, which revolves around a samurai who decides to help the deeply indebted blacksmith Dojima earn more money as his cute daughter Nanami is taken by debt collectors as collateral.

You can check it out below.

Kristofer Hivju Reportedly Set to Star in The Witcher Netflix’s Season 2

4 years 2 months ago

Kristofer Hivju, the Norwegian actor known for his role in Game of Thrones as fan-favorite character Tormund Giantsbane, has been confirmed as part of Netflix’s The Witcher Season 2. That’s according to enthusiast blog site Redanian Intelligence, which has apparently acquired a casting breakdown of the season.

Hivju star in the season’s opening episode and is strongly suspected to play the role of Nivellen, a character featured in one of The Last Wish’s short stories called “A Grain of Truth.” That’s because his codename is “Nigel,” and the show has a history of using codenames that start with the same letter as their actual character.

Further, Nigel’s description matches that of Nivellen, who is described as “a charismatic, witty and funny man. He’s from an aristocratic family and has been cursed as a boy for the crimes he has committed in the past.”

We won’t spoil anything for those who haven’t read the books, but that lines up almost exactly with Nivellen as depicted in the books.

The blog had actually predicted Hivju would feature in the season 2 a while back after one of The Witcher Season 2’s directors tagged him in a social media post while scouting filming locations. Later it was discovered that Hivju had recently followed a bunch of Witcher accounts, too.

In related news, we recently learned that Netflix’s animated series is about Vesemir’s Witcher path.

The Witcher Enhanced Edition is Now Partly Playable in VR Thanks to New Mod

4 years 2 months ago

An Unreal Engined 4 version of The Witcher Enhanced Edition is now playable in VR thanks to a new mod. Over on Nexus Mods, Patryk Loan explains that currently the mod only allows players to “take a walk in Kaer Morhen,” but there are future plans to add more maps and even story sequences of the game. It currently supports Oculus, HTC, and Windows Mixed Reality.

A new trailer showcases the modified version of the game for the first time, which you can check out below. As you can see, it switches the perspective to first-person for a more immersive experience.

Installation of the mod appears easy enough –though we haven’t yet tried–, requiring simply that you own The Witcher Enhanced Edition, download the mod, and follow the installation procedure. Head over to Nexus Mods to download it.

A quick bit of snooping around Patryk Loan’s YouTube channel reveals a work in progress recreation of The Witcher’s opening prologue in Unreal Engine 4.

The Big Game – Mirror’s Edge Catalyst

PS Plus Free Games Predictions

ps plus predictions

It’s just about that time for Sony to announce what free games will be included on PS Plus for the upcoming month of March 2020, and just about our time to give our PS Plus predictions.

Last month we saw a really strong line up with The Sims 4, Bioshock: The Collection, and PSVR game Firewall Zero Hour. This marks the first time a PSVR exclusive has been included on PS Plus since Starblood Arena back in February 2018.

For next month, we predict action/adventure game Mirror’s Edge Catalyst from EA seems like a likely choice.

Past EA games offered on PS Plus include Plants vs. Zombies in February 2013, Titanfall 2 in December 2019, The Sims 4 for the current month of February 2020, and much more.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst released way back in 2016, and considering Sony usually only waits two to three years before it puts a AAA game on PS Plus means this title is way past the time when we would have expected it’s inclusion.

3 Changes That Would Make a Potential Sonic Movie Sequel Even Better

4 years 2 months ago

Obviously, we will be talking about spoilers and post-credits scenes for the new Sonic the Hedgehog live-action film that’s just been released in theaters. So, if you do not want to get spoiled, I would recommend turning away now and never coming back.

Just kidding, just go watch the movie and then you can come back and check out this article, but you’ve been warned.

More Eggman

Arguably, some of the best scenes in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie were the times that Dr. Eggman, played by Jim Carrey, was on-screen. Carrey did a fantastic job bringing his humor into the role and you can tell immediately that he was having a lot of fun bringing the character to life.

Quantum League Beta Dates Confirmed; Cinematic Trailer Teases Time-Bending Gameplay

4 years 2 months ago

Developer Nimble Giant Entertainment has announced that its time-bending multiplayer shooter Quantum League will run an open beta for PC players from Feb. 21 to March 2.

Nimble Giant’s lead designer Balthazar Auger said of today’s announcement in a press release today:

“Quantum League‘s open beta is a great opportunity for players to test their skill and experiment with the time loop mechanic. We can’t wait to see the new strategies players will discover.”

Quantum League is described as a “revolutionary time paradox shooter.” The online shooter sees players battle within a time loop, tactically teaming up with their past and future selves in mind-blowing one-versus-one and two-versus-two matches.

It’s set within an alternate universe in which time travel has changed the face of competitive sports into something much more deadly. Donning armor and weapons, competitors duke it out in specially designed arenas and must call on a high degree of teamwork to emerge unscathed.

Quantum League’s unique mechanics demand that players take into consideration where they were and where they want to be to make a winning shot. Check out a tease of the gameplay mechanics in a new cinematic trailer below.

Fantasy RPG Outward’s First DLC “Soroboreans” Gets a Release Date & New Details

4 years 2 months ago

Nine Dots Studio’s open-world fantasy RPG Outward’s first premium DLC, Soroboreans, is set to launch this spring. The news comes by way of a press release from both the developer and its publisher Deep Silver, which confirms a March 26 release date.

In keeping with the game’s emphasis on survival mechanics, role-playing, and exploration, Soroboreans isn’t a story expansion but rather a set of new systems to enhance those core features.

This includes Corruption, an effect that impacts your character in different ways and adds new layer of strategy to the survival experience. Further, new status effects are also to be introduced, said to have the potential to completely change playstyles.

There’s also a new progression system called enchantments, which allows players to upgrade weapons and gear with new effects. Presumably, this will keep our favorite gear competitive against new enemy types in addition to the inevitable influx of new gear scattered throughout the world for Soroboreans.

While new locations aren’t mentioned in today’s press release, it does appear that there will be new places to explore based on the first teaser images of Soroboreans seen below.
