Nioh 2 for PS4 Reveals New Characters, Stages, Youkai, & Features With Screenshots & Details Aplenty

4 years 2 months ago

Today Koei Tecmo updated the official site and sent an accompanying press release about its upcoming souls-like action RPG Nioh 2, providing more screenshots and details.

To be more precise, the assets focus on the content coming in the “Last Chance Trial” demo releasing today and lasting until March 1.

First of all, we see the Ryomen Sukuna, which has pretty much been the “poster boy” of the demo. It’s a Youkai that looks like a blue and red demons attacked together back to back. It was said to have appeared in the region of Hida (currently Gifu prefecture) during the time of Emperor Nintoku, wielding multiple weapons with its four arms, engaging in brutal attacks toward the people.

Sen no Rikyu is a tea master who was in service if Hideyoshi. He used to be a merchant in Sakai. He studied the tea ceremony under the tutelage of Takeno Joo, and he was later called “Tea Saint.”

At first, he served Oda Nobunaga, but after his death, he moved on to serve Hideyoshi Toyotomi as his confidant. He has influenced many warlords being the focus of both Nobunaga and Hideyoshi’s use of tea ceremony in politics.

Saito Yoshitatsu was the daimyo of the Mino region, son of Saito Dosan. Following the retirement of his father, he inherited the position of head of the family and took over Inabayama Castle. He was actually hostile to his father, who forged an alliance with Nobunaga by having him marry his daughter Nohime. Yet, Mino and Owari would once more go to war due to the actions of Yoshitatsu.

Alien Hominid Invasion Coming to PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch

4 years 2 months ago

Developer The Behemoth announced that its upcoming Alien Hominid Invasion will launch on Steam for PC, Nintendo Switch, and “Xbox” alongside releasing a gameplay video.

Announced last month, the latest game from Castle Crashers and Pit People studio The Behemoth is a co-op run ‘n’ gun game that is a “re-imagination of the studio’s first game, Alien Hominid HD.”

Instead of the set level structure from the original, Alien Hominid Invasion will feature “a non-linear level experience” filled with enemy “Agents in sectors built from hundreds of hand-crafted city blocks.”

The studio detailed other gameplay changes in a blog post:

Unlock and equip an arsenal of weapons and boosts, level up, then beam down to invade Earth with up to three other friends. Abduct intel from your enemies to sabotage their plans, observe the oddities of human life, blow up bosses, and mutate into a variety of powerful Alien forms in order to take down the not-so-secret Agents that are dead set on ruining your day.

Players in co-op can also choose the difficulty individually such as friendly, normal, and insane modes.

No release date has been revealed yet, but the game is currently playable at PAX East, the annual convention in Boston which began today until Sunday, March 1.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Looks Absolutely Awesome in First Gameplay

4 years 2 months ago

Today Larian Studios revealed the first gameplay of the upcoming RPG Baldur’s Gate 3, and boy it looks good.

The gameplay was presented by Larian boss Swen Vincke himself on stage at PAX East.

Incidentally, we also learn that the game is going to enter early access when it’s ready, which should be in a couple of months.

We start with a small intro in which our character is infected with a rather terrifying tadpole by a Mind Flayer.

We then move to the character creation with a whole bunch of racial options and classes.

Following another introduction, we get to see Vincke playing an Origin story.

Vincke also provided plenty of explanations, so you can hear everything about the gameplay in the video below. You can also enjoy the beautiful opening cinematic on its own.

Final Fantasy III Receives New Patch Update

4 years 2 months ago

In a new trailer for the Steam Version of Final Fantasy III, Square Enix has announced that new patches are coming to the PC port.

This is a little strange considering the game came out in 2014, but seeing what the updates are, and that Final Fantasy is such a huge franchise, it’s no surprise these games get these random little updates.

The official statement is as follows:

“Final Fantasy III has received a number of brand new updates on PC (Steam), iOS and Android!”

This update includes:

  • Gallery mode
  • Auto battle function
  • 2x speed mode in battle
  • UI Changes on Steam
  • The ability to play in 21:9 on Steam
  • New languages including; Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai.

Final Fantasy III was originally released back in 1990 for the Super Nintendo and was ported to the Nintendo DS back in 2006, mobile in 2012, and Steam in 2014.

The ported versions of the game were remade in 3D instead of the original’s pixelated graphics. Final Fantasy III was praised for it’s extensive job/class system that lend to tons of customization.

Final Fantasy III is a great game and it’s good news that even more people get to play it because of this update.

Here’s a Boatload of Beautiful Baldur’s Gate 3 Screenshots Showcasing Dialog, Combat & More

4 years 2 months ago

Today at PAX East 2020, Larian Studios took the lid off of Baldur’s Gate 3 and allowed a ton of new information to release into the wild. We already got to see an extended demo of it in action, and we interviewed executive producer David Walgrave to try and squeeze a few extra details out.

If you read all that already though, or you don’t care about any of that and just want to see what it really looks like, then we have plenty of screenshots for you to peruse below.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is an extremely ambitious game that will have an incredibly complex dialog system, turn-based combat done in the style of traditional CRPGs, and a beautiful world that you can explore at your leisure. Those with better perception though will of course enjoy the world a little more than others.

PAX East may provide even more details about Baldur’s Gate 3 and as we learn more we’ll continue to cover it. But in the meantime, while you’re here, go click through some pretty screenshots will ya?

Baldur’s Gate 3 Interview: Producer Talks D&D Elements, Party Interactions, Romance & More

4 years 2 months ago

To the (pleasant) surprise of many, Baldur’s Gate 3 was revealed to not only be a thing last year at E3 but that it was also going to be revived under the care of one of the CRPG genre’s most respected names: Larian Studios.

The other day, Twinfinite alongside other members of the gaming press had an opportunity to speak to David Walgrave, executive producer at Larian Studios about Baldur’s Gate 3.

Like many of you, we wanted to learn more about how deep the game’s connections to Dungeon’s & Dragons will be this time around, how you’ll be able to interact with party members, and most importantly the level of care Larian Studios is putting into this beloved IP. Below is everything we learned.

Ed McGlone: What are the most important aspects of Baldur’s Gate series and how do you intend to ensure that all of that is carried over and improved upon and Baldur’s Gate 3?

David Walgrave, Executive Producer Larian Studios We thought about this before we started in pre-production obviously, and we decided that the most important thing that we need to keep from the original [games] is the party aspect, the trust aspect, and the companions.

So if you talk to anyone about Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2, they’re usually going to talk to you about characters and personalities and companions. I don’t think there are many other aspects that they talk about… they just want to talk to you about Edwin, they want to say like I hate his guts or I really like that guy. Why don’t you ever pick him up?

Baldur’s Gate 3 Preview – Lots of D&D, Turn-based Combat & the Return of Mind Flayers

4 years 2 months ago

Baldur’s Gate was an important franchise to many people in or around my age group (early 30s). I didn’t really know what I was doing when I was young and playing it for the first time, but I did know I was having fun and it introduced me to the world of CRPGs. Many people are probably in a similar boat with varying degrees of loyalty to the genre over the years.

Traditional CRPGs would eventually fall out of favor, but recently there has been seeing a bit of a renaissance, and it’s no surprise then that Baldur’s Gate 3 would eventually emerge from its long hibernation.

While the announcement back at E3 was a big deal to CRPG fans, there were of course no guarantees about the game living up to its storied past.

However, the fact that Larian Studios, one of the most experienced and respected CRPG developers still around today, is taking the helm is definitely comforting.

The other day, Larian invited Twinfinite to see a roughly three hour long extended hands-off demo of Baldur’s Gate 3 and, although I wasn’t particularly worried heading into it, what I saw erased any concerns that were still rattling around.

There’s really no other way to put it than it looked absolutely ace in just about every factor that would matter to long time CRPG fans.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Will Have Romance Options

4 years 2 months ago

Today at PAX East Larian Studios finally showed more of the upcoming and anticipated Baldur’s Gate 3. The other day however, Twinfinite was able to speak with executive producer David Walgrave and chat him up about some of the most important little details that we wanted to make sure we got an answer about. Of course we wanted to know if you could romance and make sweet love to NPCs in-game.

Fortunately, for those that are fans of romance in their video games (becoming more and more common these days), Walgrave was able to confirm just straight up that there will be romance. Here’s what Walgrave told us when we asked him about deep NPC interaction and romance:

Whenever you are making important decisions or even side decisions, they will react to it. They will start reacting to other people in the party as well. The encampment moments are also very important. You can select who to talk to, and in the camp, there will indeed be romance.

During the demo we watched in New York City the other day, we were able to see the ways that your character can interact with their party members in meaningful ways.

Your party members can react to thing you’re doing as you’re doing them and can be spoken to after conversations you have with other non party members. There was an instance for example where he took his evil character out of the sight from one of his more lawful party members to do something shady because he knew that the lawful character would react negatively to what he was doing and possibly even leave them.

In addition, you can choose to set up camp while out in game’s world and each night you’ll be able to talk to various members of your party and occasionally get special cutscenes.

Gearbox Reveals Borderlands 3 is Coming to Steam in March

4 years 2 months ago

It’s been a long wait, but Borderlands 3 is finally coming to Steam in just a few weeks time.

During Gearbox Software’s press conference at Pax East 2020, the company revealed that Borderlands 3 will be available on Steam starting Mar. 13. The game will likewise offer cross play functionality with those who bought the game through the Epic Games Store, allowing PC players to engage in co-op regardless of their launcher.

It has not yet been revealed whether the game will be listed at full price or if it will be offered at a discount. Likewise, it wasn’t confirmed whether the game’s latest DLC expansion, Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, will be available through Steam alongside the game.

Should this information become available, we’ll update this piece accordingly.

Released on Sept. 13, 2019, Borderlands 3’s PC version was originally released exclusively through the Epic Games Store. The move drew some criticism, but the game still managed to sell several million copies even without being available on Steam.

Borderlands 3 is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. For more on the game, check out our review of the title from launch. For more on the Borderlands series in general, check out our ranking of every Borderlands game from fine to phenomenal.

Apex Legends System Override Event Adds New Octane Heirloom

4 years 2 months ago

Respawn’s battle royale seems like it’s been dropping new events nonstop for a while. Now, the System Override Collection event is on its way, and it’ll be adding new cosmetics, new shields, a new Octane heirloom, and more to Apex Legends.

Apex Legends Season 4 has been full of surprises so far. The Valentine’s Day Rendezvous event and the short return to Kings Canyon have both come to an end, so the System Override Collection event is coming up next. It’ll be live for two weeks, from Mar. 3 to Mar. 17.

If you ever find yourself upset about the lack of good loot after dropping, you’ll be glad to know that System Override will feature a Deja Loot mode. The mode makes loot locations permanent, so you’ll start to remember where to go to get exactly what you want.

The second week will return to the Kings Canyon map once again, so you won’t have to mourn its absence for too much longer.

Last, but not least, both cosmetic and gameplay-altering loot will be added to Apex Legends, including an Evo Shield and Octane’s Heirloom. The Evo Shield gets stronger as you deal more damage, and you’ll need to complete new challenges to obtain 24 exclusive new items as well as the Heirloom.

You can see most of the new additions in-game in the new System Override trailer below:

Pokemon Sword and Shield’s Latest Mythical Pokemon is the Evil Monkey Zarude

4 years 2 months ago

The Pokemon news train keeps on rolling, and like Whitney’s Miltank after it uses Rollout, there’s seemingly no stopping it. Just yesterday, Game Freak revealed Mewtwo Max Raid Battles, and today, the company officially announced a new, powerful Pokemon that doesn’t monkey around.

Earlier today, the Pokemon YouTube channel unveiled Zarude, the Rogue Monkey Pokemon. This sinister simian lives up to its name with red eyes, vines wrapped around its wrists, an almost skull-like face, and a Dark/Grass typing. Zarude shares this dual typing with Nuzleaf, Shiftry, and Cacturne, although those are technically Grass/Dark-types.

According to the trailer, Zarude’s ability is Leaf Guard, which protects it against status effects during sunny weather. Moreover, the video description features a short blurb about the Pokemon, which is likely Zarude’s Pokedex entry:

When fighting, it swings around using trees and their branches, attacking relentlessly with its sharp claws or any other means it has. Its quick wit helps it excel in battles.

The video doesn’t include any more information, such as if Zarude features a signature attack or how to catch it. However, the trailer promises “more information coming soon.”

Are You a True Resident Evil Fan? Answer These Trivia Questions to Find Out

4 years 2 months ago

If you’re a fan of horror games then there is no doubt that you have played Resident Evil. The franchise has spanned decades and has become one of the most successful games series of all time. First created by Capcom back and released in 1996, Resident Evil was an instant hit.

It was initially supposed to be a reboot for the Japanese game, Sweet Home, which was also based on a horror movie of the same name. Resident Evil was originally made by Shinji Makami and Tokuro Fujiwara with Makami often working on the game in his free time before presenting it to Capcom.

Capcom was impressed by the game and thought that with the introduction of 3D gaming that the PlayStation had brought, that a horror game would thrive on the system, and oh boy were they right. Many of the developers of the original game were cited as saying that development was very hectic and that all the testing and debugging of the game was done in-house.

The original game coined the genre “Survival Horror” and has been an inspiration for plenty of other horror games since. Mikami said that he wanted the feeling of killing zombies and fighting for your life to feel new to players.

Plants vs. Zombies 3 Soft Launches on Mobile for Select Regions

4 years 2 months ago

Developer PopCap Games announced that Plants vs. Zombies 3 has soft launched in specific territories on mobile devices, alongside revealing a few details about the game itself.

The soft launch means that the developer can continue technical testing with a wider pool of users. PopCap could also add more and tweak some features in the game with feedback.

The studio revealed that Plants vs. Zombies 3 will be a free-to-play title with “optional” microstransactions that follows the same gameplay of its predecessors with a few key differences.

It is still a lane-based tower defense game, but with a bigger emphasis on “social play, faster combat, and deeper synergies for the plant team,” according to PopCap.

Key differences are removing the “last line of defense” lawnmowers and Sunflower plants becoming its own meter than required to be planted on the field.

The game also features 3D graphics, as opposed to the main series’ 2D art style, and is played in portrait mode “to make the game more phone-friendly.”

While Plants vs. Zombies 3 is currently only available in the Philippines, PopCap plans to add more countries to the soft launch “as time goes on.” There is no set date for an official launch, but will require an Android Galaxy S6 tier-device with KitKat (4.4) and higher or at least an iPhone 6S with at least iOS 13.1 and higher.

PopCap also said it plans to continue supporting the mobile-only Plants vs. Zombies 2, and recently released an update with new levels, enemies, and perks.

One Finger Death Punch 2 Launches on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch

4 years 2 months ago

One Finger Death Punch 2, the one finger beat ’em up against waves of stick figures, is now available for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and GOG on PC.

The game first launched on Steam last April, and has now been ported to the two consoles. It is also available on GOG for those who want to avoid Steam and own a DRM-free copy of the game.

The first One Finger Death Punch was released in 2014 for the Xbox 360 through the Xbox Live Indie Games program, where small developers could have their games published for the platform through community voting.

“The original One Finger Death Punch was developed for the Xbox 360 using Microsoft XNA, which then was ported to PC and mobile devices,” says developer Silver Dollar Games’ Jon Flook in a press release.

“It took a little over six years to make a sequel available for consoles, but we know those who enjoyed the original game will love it on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It’s as fast-paced and crazy as they’d expect it to be.”

One Finger Death Punch 2 contains over 400 levels, 15 level types, four endless survival modes, and two gauntlet run game modes. It is $8.99 for both consoles and $7.99 on PC, though GOG currently has a 50% discount at $3.99.

Bungie Acknowledges that Destiny 2 Is Creating FOMO Among Players, Aims to Rectify That

4 years 2 months ago

Ever since the release of the Forsaken expansion, Destiny 2 has been doing pretty well. Bungie has been consistently supporting the game with a good flow of updates and content, and the player base is certainly mostly satisfied with the state of the game right now. However, there are still some issues with the way Destiny 2 is structured at the moment.

For instance, the game is now split into Seasons, where Bungie will inject the game with fresh new content after every few months. There are always new weapons and gear to hunt down, new missions to complete, and now a new Battle Pass to rank up in. The catch is, though, that a lot of these events are truly seasonal and they go away once the Season is up. This means that if you’re a more casual player who doesn’t catch up with every Season, you’ll likely miss out on a lot of fun content.

On the flip side, hardcore players might feel pressured to only participate in a particular event to earn whatever rewards were up for grabs that Season. To combat this, Bungie mentioned in their Director’s Cut blog post that they’re aware of this, and are taking steps to help players catch up with content at their own pace.

“We also think we could invest more of our development time on our questlines. Right now, things like Sundial consume team resources and then fade away. Imagine instead that Seasonal questlines like “Save a Legend” didn’t go away in the following Season, but instead existed until the next Expansion releases. That way, as players drift in an out of the game, there’s a bunch of content building up for them to play when they return.”

Square Enix Explains How They Brought the Legendary Ruby Weapon to Life in FFXIV

4 years 2 months ago

Last week, we saw the release of patch 5.2 for Final Fantasy XIV, which is rapidly becoming one of the most popular MMOs on the market right now. That patch continued the game’s main story, and also introduced a new side story involving the antagonist from A Realm Reborn, with a brand new boss battle against Ruby Weapon from Final Fantasy VII.

To say that Ruby Weapon is an iconic Final Fantasy boss would be an understatement. This Final Fantasy VII boss had a memorable design, looking like a humanoid alien with imposing tentacles.

In Final Fantasy XIV, this enemy reappears with a slightly refreshed design, invoking nostalgia from the Final Fantasy VII days, but also introducing a modern twist on it.

Lead Battle Content Designer Masaki Nakagawa explains that when designing the battle itself, they made sure to include attacks that would be familiar to old-school FFVII fans, while also making sure that the fight was tied to an FFXIV-centric story that newer players would also be able to follow.

Nakagawa also explains the process behind the enemy’s visual design, stating that they generally like to keep the original design intact. In the case of Ruby Weapon, some liberties were taken. While Ruby Weapon in FFXIV is still very easily identifiable, some of its characteristics were altered and enhanced to fit the theme and tone of the FFXIV story.

Mewtwo to Appear in Max Raid Battles in Pokemon Sword and Shield

4 years 2 months ago

The Pokemon Company has announced in a trailer that Mewtwo, the legendary Pokemon from the Kanto region, will be appearing in Max Raid battles in Sword and Shield for a limited time.

Mewtwo is the first legendary Pokemon to appear in Max Raid battles, but because it is so powerful, you won’t be able to catch it just yet. Instead, you can battle it with other players online or with NPCs to try to defeat it for big rewards, such as bottle caps and tons of Exp. candies.

These limited-time Max Raid battles featuring Mewtwo will begin on Feb. 27 to mark the start of Pokemon Day. The legendary Pokemon will only appear in Max Raid battles until March 2, so if you want to battle one, you will only have a few days to do so.

There is no word on whether Mewtwo will eventually be catchable in Sword and Shield. At the moment, the only way to obtain a Mewtwo in the game is to transfer one from Pokemon Home.

Like all other special Max Raid Pokemon, you must first update your game’s Wild Area for it to begin appearing in raid dens. If you haven’t caught Gigantamax Toxtricity, it will continue to appear in Max Raid battles until March 8.

This is the first of several announcements that are anticipated for Pokemon Day, according to the Pokemon Company’s official Twitter account. We already know that we can expect to hear the results of the “Pokemon of the Year” poll.

Check back with Twinfinite for more Pokemon Day coverage, and be sure to watch the Japanese trailer introducing Mewtwo to Max Raid battles below.

Xbox Series X Dev Discusses Backward Compatibility; “Inventing All-New Techniques All The Time”

4 years 2 months ago

During the latest episode of Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb’s podcast, team Xbox partner director of program management Jason Ronald talked about the Xbox One Series X.

Specifically, we hear about the work done by the backward compatibility team.

Incidentally, it’s the same team that worked on the features for Xbox One.

“Our back-compat team is one of the best in the industry and we’re really looking at what new opportunities the Xbox Series X gives us, where we can enhance titles even further than you’ve seen before.”

[…]

“As a member of the team I can say, the team loves these franchises just as much as players and developers over the years. It’s critically important to them that they always respect the artistic integrity of the original creator, but at the same too we want these games to look and play better then you’ve ever seen them before.

The team is constantly inventing new techniques, things we never even thought were possible to really be able to push the boundaries.”

[…]

“They’re inventing all-new techniques all the time, and it’s really awesome to see the creativity and innovation coming from that team, and it’s the exact same team that did the 360 compat and the original Xbox compat on Xbox One. The exact same team is continuing to push the state of art with the Xbox Series X.”

Ronald also explained that we’ll see improved and steadier frame-rates and no more dropped frames. Games that use techniques like dynamic resolution scaling will benefit from the extra power of Xbox Series X by running always at the highest resolution possible while still holding the steady frame rate.

The advancement in storage technology and CPU, leading to faster load times, getting into the experience much faster.

Breath of the Wild Player Beats Calamity Ganon in 11 Seconds

4 years 2 months ago

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has some pretty crazy die-hard fans that manage to do some wild things in the game, like killing a Golden Lynel with a boomerang tornado or modding a Ring-Con controller to use in-game.

Earlier this week on Reddit, a user named Master_t0rch uploaded a video of them defeating Calamity Ganon in just 11 seconds.

The video starts off with them about to face Ganon but you can see that they’re wearing the Fierce Deity armor set from Majora’s Mask, which is obtained by scanning in the Young Link amiibo into the game.

Master_t0rch also has a triple attack-up buff, a savage Lynel Bow, and some handy dandy Ancient Arrows to deal some major damage to Calamity Ganon.

After using the stasis ability to slow down Ganon for a few seconds, Master_t0rch proceeds to use a skew bounce to get up high in the air and then goes to bullet-time mode to unleash a total of five arrows right into the boss’ sweet spot or shall I say, weak point.

When asked about the skew bounce method, Master_t0rch attempted to explain to people how it all exactly works:

I’ll try and explain it. So you wanna jump off of a slope and shield surf mid-air, like in the video, enter bullet time, turn 180 degrees and land facing the point you just jumped off of. This should cause you to fall off your shield. That’s how you set up a skew bounce. To do the actual jump, you wanna shield surf on the spot, but before your shield touches the ground quickly hold left on the d-pad to open up the shield menu. From there just de-equip your shield and you should launch into the air.

Yakuza Executive Director Celebrates Yakuza 0’s Xbox One Release by Discussing the Series’ Appeal

4 years 2 months ago

Today marks the release of Yakuza 0 on Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass, and Sega is celebrating new fans joining the popular franchise’s party.

In order to properly welcome those who will finally get to enjoy one of the best series coming out of Japan, which was originally exclusive to PlayStation platforms (unless you count a remaster of the first two games on Wii U that was pretty much ignored by the audience) and only recently landed on PC as well, we get a video featuring executive director Toshihiro Nagoshi.

Nagoshi-san talks extensively about 0, explaining why it’s a game that he still loves after five years. On top of that, he also discusses the appeal of the series in general.

In fact, this isn’t the only Yakuza game that fans on Xbox One will be able to enjoy since we’re also getting Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 (which is my personal favorite of the series), basically forming a fantastic trilogy which represents the chronological beginning of the franchise.

You can check out the video below, alongside the launch trailer.

Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft Blasts Into Brawlhalla in New Trailer

4 years 2 months ago

Tomb Raider’s iconic treasure hunter is making an appearance in Brawlhalla for a limited time, and Ubisoft has released a teaser trailer to show what she’s capable of.

Streamed via the official Ubisoft YouTube channel, the trailer shows Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft raiding a tomb before making her entrance into battle. From there, she begins bashing, smashing and blasting her way through the competition, utilizing everything from climbing ropes to her trademark pistols in quick succession.

Players can also choose between Lara’s original look and that of her most recent games, dubbed her Survivor version, which changes the look of her clothes, weapons and tools.

And that’s to say nothing of the new map and mode that are being introduced alongside her. On the map front, players can duke it out at the Temple Ruins, a series of precarious platforms dilapidated by the passage of time. The stages carries the feel and atmosphere of one of Croft’s adventures, albeit with a more cartoon-y aesthetic in line with Brawlhalla.

Then, there’s the new gameplay mode, Temple Climb. In this new mode, players must constantly climb up a series of platforms while trying to knock their opponents down to their doom. All the while, traps on the sides of the platforms will trigger, potentially sending players spiraling down before they can secure their victory.

It’s suitably hectic and in line with the crossover brawler. Fans of Brawlhalla, Tomb Raider or both will want to view it in its entirety down below.

A Fan Was so Desperate for a Nintendo Direct That They Made Their Own in Super Mario Maker 2

4 years 2 months ago

It’s been quite some time since Nintendo fans have been gifted with a proper Nintendo Direct, causing plenty of folks on Twitter to talk rumors and count down how many days it’s been since the last one. Sure, there was a Pokemon and an Animal Crossing-focused Direct this year but fans want more than that and one, in particular, got so fed up that they decided to create their own 2020 Nintendo Direct, but as a Super Mario Maker 2 level.

In the hilarious gameplay video down below, which was posted by BeardBear, you can see the creator used Bowser to portray Doug Bowser, the president of Nintendo of America. The video then reveals that Breath of the Wild 2 won’t be coming until 2029 and then there’s an indie section. But the ever-famous “one more thing” announcement shows off a huge surprise that you might not expect…

During Yacht Club Games’ live-streamed presentation today, the studio revealed that it is currently working on two entirely new games that are still a ways off.

Speaking of new things, you might be wondering what we’re making next. We can finally confirm that we’ve begun internal development on new projects –that’s right, projects, as in more than one. Rest assured that our signature approach to game design, characters, and story will be front and center. These brand-new games are ways off but please begin to imagine what kinds of games we’ll be crafting during 2020, the year of the rat.
