No Man’s Sky’s Update 3.87 is Coming “Soon”; Fixes Issues From the Latest Outlaws Expansion

Hello Games announced that it’s working on a new No Man’s Sky patch to help fix some of the issues that have arisen following the launch of its latest Outlaws expansion.

Said expansion was free and arrived last week adding a bunch of new content like new ship types, improved space combat, smuggling, the ability to own up to 9 ships, in-atmosphere combat, bigger cargo holds, recruitable fighter squadrons, and much more. You can check out a trailer outlining the new additions here.

Unfortunately, when you add new content to games, especially to universe-spanning behemoths like No Man’s Sky, new problems can occasionally arise, which is exactly what this new Update 3.87 is targeted at.

Patch 3.87 will apparently “be live on all platforms soon.”

Here’s a full rundown of the what to expect from Update 3.87:

Bug fixes

– Fixed a number of issues that prevented pirates from attacking planetary buildings with the correct behaviours.

– Fixed a general issue that caused pirates to attack planetary buildings too frequently.

– Pirates will no longer attack players who are underground, underwater, or in their own base.

– Pirates no longer attack planets in low conflict systems.

– Fixed an issue that could cause the pirate raid warning message to display when there was no pirate attack incoming.

– Fixed an issue that caused pirates to deal too much damage when shooting at the player on the ground, and for the player to receive ship-related warning messages when hit.

– Fixed an issue that caused pirate raid markers to fail to clear from buildings when the raid ends.

New Out of the Park Baseball 23 Streams Focus on Gameplay & Perfect Team

Earlier this week, Com2uS released two new streams focusing on its upcoming baseball management simulation title, Out of the Park Baseball 23. One of the videos is a lengthy deep dive into gameplay with MLB Network’s Scott Braun and the other is a 90-minute-long stream talking all about the Perfect Team mode.

First off, the gameplay deep dive featured Braun from MLB Network and Markus Heinsohn, the lead developer for Out of the Park Baseball 23. They started off by addressing the delay that led to the launch being scheduled for 4/22. Heinsohn’s main reasons for the delay were the desire to deliver the best product possible and to maintain a healthy work environment for himself and his employees.

The next big topic they covered was the visual improvements to Out of the Park Baseball 23, two of the biggest additions being real player faces for 3D models and new 3D animations. On top of that, there will now be fully customizable uniforms for the clubs you manage. These alternate uniforms can be assigned to be worn on specific dates or days of the week.

After that, Heinsohn and Braun got into the details on the brand-new tutorial mode in Out of the Park Baseball 23. Heinsohn mentioned that the tutorial will focus a lot on showing players where to go to set things like your lineup or pitching rotation. But a good chunk of it will also give players “missions” that will help them get into the swing of playing the game.

Latest Destiny 2 Patch Adds Materials Tracker Among Other Fixes

Guardians looking for an improved experience instead of annoying errors in Bungie’s Destiny 2, your plea has been answered somewhat. In the latest update for the game, the studio has made a number of fixes and changes for activities, the overall user interface and experience, how the sandbox works, and more. The most significant improvement in this Destiny 2 update, however, might actually be the fact that there is now a more reliable way to track your different crafting materials.

The new Patch 4.0.1 for Destiny 2 adds the Relic Tether, which can be obtained from the Relic Conduit at the Enclave and housed on the consumables page. If you hover over it, players will have a full overview of the different crafting materials called elements in their inventory.

This makes it easier for Guardians to choose the type of Resonant weapons to use in order to gain these elements, so that weapon crafting becomes much more efficient overall. However, this will be a stopgap measure since Bungie will be removing some of the materials for Season 17, and hopefully a more streamlined system is introduced.

Aside from the Relic Tether, the new Destiny 2 update also throws in some fixes that will make plenty of impact. The first is an actual fix for Xur’s inventory, which should now reflect the actual stats of items on sale, as well as tightening the conditions in which players can earn Adept weapons on Trials of Osiris.

The full 4.0.1 patch notes for Destiny 2 can be found below:

Pokemon Fan Animation Teaches the Old Man in Celadon City Not to Peep

If you grew up playing the Pokemon games, there’s likely a lot of adult jokes and situations in the series that may have gone over your head. One such situation occurs all the way back in the original black and white versions of the franchise with Pokemon Yellow.

When you make it to Celadon City, talking to the old man right outside of the town’s gym greets you with a dialogue of “this gym is great, it’s full of hot women!” While it may not be the most offensive thing that’s ever appeared in the series, it’s something that some have taken umbrage with over the years, including Redditor MattOnyx.

As you can see in the post above, MattOnyx created an animation straight out of an Eldrich horror novel, as the Celadon City perv gets punished by Erika in the most terrifying way possible. Shifting from 2D to 3D the image shows a massive Victreebel popping up from underneath the Gym, grabbing the old man with one of its tentacles, and then swallowing him whole.

Marvel’s Avengers Adding Jane Foster’s Thor as Playable Hero in Future Update

Marvel’s Avengers studio Crystal Dynamics announced that it will be adding Jane Foster: The Mighty Thor as a playable character to the game.

The developer said in the game’s April Development Update blog post that she will be coming to Marvel’s Avengers in Update 2.5. No timing on the release for the update was revealed, but the character would have abilities similar to Thor with some that are unique to Jane.

“Our Hero designs are driven first and foremost by their core comic book identities, so, as a fellow wielder of Mjolnir, her suite of abilities will have a lot in common with the Odinson’s, however she will also have elements that are distinctly Jane,” the studio said in the announcement.

Crystal Dynamics also detailed the game’s Update 2.4 alongside the reveal, which aims to improve the event system to be more unique and rewarding. Elements of the rework include “diversifying rewards across events,” adding Unit rewards to more missions, and meta objectives granting rewards that can be used by the entire roster.

Update 2.4 is slated to launch sometime in May. While no date has been set for Update 2.5, it seems it could coincide closely with the release of Thor: Love and Thunder in theaters on July 8. The teaser trailer released earlier this week showed off Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, briefly wielding Mjolnir and seemingly taking the title of the new Thor.

You read that right, several years after the cancellation of the Visceral Games Star Wars title, Amy Hennig is back working on a Star Wars project. This time her studio Skydance New Media will collaborate with Lucasfilm Games on the new project.

In describing her affection towards the massive franchise, Skydance shared this quote:

“I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly,” said Hennig, President, Skydance New Media. “I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.”

Lucasfilm Games VP had this to add:

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working again with Amy. She and the Skydance New Media team have the talent and ambition to create a unique Star Wars adventure,” said Douglas Reilly, Vice President, Lucasfilm Games. “Their vision for making inviting, cinematic interactive entertainment makes this collaboration very exciting. World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King Classic Coming in 2022

Following the announcement of the brand new expansion of World of Warcraft (titled Dragonflight), WoW Classic enthusiasts got their due with the announcement of Wrath of the Lich King Classic.

The classic expansion will return under the spotlight in 2022.

The Death Knight class will obviously be available and will start at level 55. On top of that, there will be changes made to the original expansion to better fit players who love the Classic experience. A few more options will be added to the barbershop, but no real money will be charged. You’ll be able to pay for everything with in-game gold.

The Dungeon Finder will not be included as the developers don’t see it as a good fit for the Classic community. Arena Teams have also been removed.

A level 70 boost will be available alongside the level cap increase to 80.

If you’re unfamiliar with World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, it was released as November 2008 as the second expansion of Blizzard’s venerable MMORPG. While many loved it, a subset of the community saw it as the beginning of WoW’s downfall following the golden age of Burning Crusade.

Of course, it’ll include a ton of new (or returning, if you want to see it from that point of view) content including the continent of Northrend, home base of Arthas the Lich King himself.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see what effects it will have on the Classic community.

World of Warcraft Classic is currently available exclusively for PC.

The livestream will air on Monday, April 25 at 8:00 pm Japan Time. It will be titled “Azur Lane Official Spring Live Broadcast – Iron Blood SP: Hanami with Beer and Sausage.”

For those unfamiliar, “Hanami” is the Japanese tradition of going out with friends and family to watch the cherry blossoms, often entertaining rich feasts under the trees (hence the beer and sausages).

The event will be hosted by popular entertainer Mafia Kajita and among the guests we’ll see Admiral Hipper’s voice actress Yuri Yamaoka.

New Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Teaser Will Leave You With Goosebumps

Earlier today, Marvel dropped a brand new teaser trailer for its upcoming sci-fi superhero flick, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Helmed by veteran Spider-Man director Sam Raimi, the much-anticipated pic is locked in for a May 6 theatrical release.

Feel free to take a gander at the new footage down below:

Clocking in just shy of 30 seconds long, the new video pulls back the curtain on a spate of action sequences that will take a center stage when the film drops anchor early next month.

One specific shot in particular sees the titular superhero’s face fragmenting into sliding pieces like a bizarre Rubik’s Cube. Not sure about you, but that shot gave us some serious goosebumps thanks to its Trypophobia-esque visuals. Yikes!

Of course, the cast is spearheaded by the one and only Benedict Cumberbatch, with Avengers‘ Elizabeth Olsen, The Martian’s Benedict Wong, and Amistad’s Chiwetel Ejiofor rounding out the star-studded cast.

Elden Ring Patch 1.04 Notes Reveal Major Rebalancing of Magic & Weapons

FromSoftware’s latest update for Elden Ring is a big one. Patch 1.04 notes released today reveal major changes to the balance of weapons, items, and notably, magic/incantations, which should result in substantially more Intelligence/Faith build options moving forward.

Indeed, while Elden Ring’s magic system has been widely praised for its huge array of interesting and plain cool-to-look-at spells, many of them aren’t really viable due to long cast times and large FP consumption. Pragmatic spellcasters quickly noticed that the flashy spells found toward the end of the game were spectacular to behold but not especially functional, which was a bit frustrating. After all, you want the cool spells to actually do the damage in combat! That should be the case moving forward.

As you’ll see below, the changes aren’t limited to magic, though. There are a bunch of rebalances for melee weapons, too, as well as the many weapon skills associated with them. Here’s the full overview:

Major Changes Included in the Latest Update

Additional Elements Added

  • Added an option to turn camera auto rotate function ON/OFF
  • Added some event phases for the NPC “Patches”

Fortnite v20.20 Update Adds New Ranger Shotgun, Covert Ops Quest & More

Epic Games has just rolled out the Fortnite v20.20 update for its Battle Royale game mode, adding in a new Ranger Shotgun, a Covert Ops questline, and sees the return of Boogie Bombs and Rift-to-Gos before they’re pitted against each other in a vote on the Funding Boards.

The news comes via a blog post over on the official Fortnite website, outlining the new additions.

In terms of the story of the season that’s seeing the Resistance fighting back against the IO forces, the battle has moved on from Condo Canyon and is now focused around Coney Crossroads. Help push the IO back in this named location, but watch out for Huntmaster Saber in his blimp overhead.

The Fortnite 20.20 update also adds the new Ranger Shotgun. A burst shotgun that has one shot per reload. Each shot from the Ranger Shotgun deals large amounts of damage and is effective at longer ranges compared to other shotgun types currently in the game. It comes in five rarities — Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary — with the reload and damage output increasing with each rarity.

It should be noted that the Ranger Shotgun has not been added into competitive playlists as it’s currently undergoing an evaluation period.

If a powerful shotgun doesn’t do it for you, then the update also sees the return of the Boogie Bomb and Rift-to-Go items to the island. The Boogie Bomb, when thrown, causes all players caught in its radius to break out into dancing, preventing them from engaging in combat.

The Rift-to-Go can be used at any time to be transported and spit out of a Rift overhead, allowing you to glide to safety away from the encroaching storm circle or enemy players.

Microsoft Rewarding PC Game Pass Free Trial to Players of Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5 & Age of Empires IV

Playing games does pay sometimes, as Microsoft has announced it is offering a three-month free trial of its PC Game Pass service as an incentive for players to join. This will apply to anyone who has enjoyed Halo InfiniteAge of Empires IV, or Forza Horizon 5 from the game’s respective launch to Feb. 28, 2022. Of course, the caveat is that it is only for players who have never subscribed to the service before.

So for those who have previously cancelled and are looking for a way back, this is not it. The offer also does not extend to players in Russia and India. The platform on which you have bought and played these games will not matter either, so be it Steam or the Microsoft Store, and even those who have played the free-to-play multiplayer of Halo Infinite are included in this initiative.

If the free trial of the PC Game Pass has caught your interest, you can check your eligibility via the Xbox website. Once the trial period is over, you will be charged at the current rate, so do your due diligence if you do not wish to continue the subscription.

Final Fantasy XIV Housing Lottery Crisis Gets Another Update & Light at the End of the Tunnel

It appears that there is some light at the end of the tunnel for Final Fantasy XIV players who have found their attempts to acquire a new home frustrated by a bug within the lottery system implemented with the latest update.

The issue caused the lottery to fail to assign many plots of land to the proper winners, simply returning a “0” value, causing considerable frustration among the community.

Today Square Enix posted another update signed by producer and director Naoki Yoshida, signalling the steps Square Enix is going to take to address the situation.

Those are as follows:

  • Restoring the lottery results data
  • Fixing the identified issues
  • Verifying the fixes

We learn that all lotteries have actually been conducted successfully, but those who returned the dreaded “0” were affected by a failure to communicate the winner to the housing server.

Those players who managed to purchase their house need not worry, as nothing changes for them.

Those affected by the “0” issue will have to wait for a fix to be implemented. When that happens, it’ll be possible to confirm the lottery winners. Those who registered for these lotteries won’t need to register a second time. Square Enix asked for some patience as data is recovered.

If you have already recovered your downpayment, you don’t need to worry either, as Square Enix is considering the means to recollect payment from the winners that did so. More details will be announced at a later time.

Today, SEGA revealed that they are bringing another of their hit video game franchises back to the silver screen, as the beat ’em up series Streets of Rage is getting a brand new movie. This news comes by way of Deadline, which reports that Sonic the Hedgehog producer dj2 Entertainment and Escape Artists (Equalizer) will produce the film adaptation.

Despite some criticism regarding the franchise when it was first announced, the Sonic the Hedgehog movie franchise has been a resounding success for dj2 and SEGA, with the second film recently pulling in $72 million at the box office during its opening weekend alone. The success of Sonic is likely what prompted SEGA to give this next project the greenlit.

The untitled Streets of Rage movie is also set to be written by Derek Kolstad, who also wrote John Wick and Nobody. While there aren’t too many details about the film at this time, there’s plenty of source material to go off of, as the franchise has published multiple games revolving around the group of former police officers that battle an organized crime syndicate since the first title came out in 1991.

The latest title in the franchise, Streets of Rage 4, was released in April of 2020 and has sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide.

It’ll be interesting to see if the recent buzz surrounding video game movies and the success of the most recent game can correlate in to another successful movie franchise for SEGA. For now, we’ll just have to wait to see.

Elden Ring Player Creates Kratos With This Amazing God of War Build

Elden Ring has been out for almost two months now, giving fans plenty of time to explore its massive map and fight all of the terrifying creatures it has to offer. But while fighting and exploring is plenty of fun, how you do and who you do it as adds an entire new layer, especially if you manage to create a build that resembles Kratos from God of War.

Yes, someone finally created the Ghost of Sparta thanks to a combination of character customization and equipping the right items. As you can see in the post below to the Elden Ring subreddit, user Ariiverderci managed to create Kratos in Elden Ring and boy does it ever look awesome.

According to the player, all it took was a tutorial to get the body and face right and then they equipped dual-wielding whips – apparently any whips work fine, but they used Hoslow Whip and Urumi for the video. Once equipped, they then just doused the left and then right weapon in fire grease to recreate the Blades of Athena.

So what do you think of this build? Are you going to try and play as Kratos with the Blades of Athena as well? Be sure to let us know in the comment section below.

The new season, which will follow the second that has just debuted on the popular streaming platform, will launch in 2023.

The announcement came with a brief teaser trailer, which you can watch below.

The trailer’s description also provides hints to what we can expect, albeit pretty vague.

“The world of Ultraman as seen through the lens of directors Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki heads into the final chapter at last!

Will the six warriors — Ultraman, Seven, Ace, Zoffy, Jack and Taro — finally put an end to the battle with the aliens?

The final season of the Netflix Series “ULTRAMAN” streams worldwide in 2023, only on Netflix!”

If you’re unfamiliar with Ultraman, it debuted in 2019, translating into animation a manga written by Eiichi Shimizu and drawn by Tomohiro Shimoguchi, which was serialized on Monthly Hero’s starting in 2011.

The manga itself is inspired by the ultra-famous Ultraman tokusatsu franchise, that has been a staple of Japanese television since 1966.

Latest Battlefield 2042 Update Adds Voice Chat and Hundreds of Fixes

Electronic Arts and DICE’s online first-person shooter Battlefield 2042 will receive an update later this week that adds in-game voice chat alongside hundreds of fixes and changes across the game.

The update 4.0 will finally allow players to chat with each other in the game with the addition of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Voice chat will be limited to two options, a pre-made party or the in-match squad, and players can switch between the two while in a game.

Weapon attachments have also been overhauled with the patch, and the studio said that some attachments were too similar to others in their effects. Some of the attachments received better stats, while others were changed with slightly different effects to prevent overlapping.

The other biggest change in the update is its Ribbon and XP system. Ribbons have been made easier to unlock across all modes, and some specific Ribbons now give increased progress. Support actions such as healing and resupplying also give more XP, while XP earned from capturing and defending objectives have been decreased.

The update will be coming to all platforms on Tuesday, April 19. The patch notes also list hundreds of other changes and improvements ranging from matchmaking to showing a scoreboard after a round ends.

Battlefield 2042 is now available for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

Square Enix Provides Update About Final Fantasy XIV Housing Lottery Crisis

The opening of the Empyreum housing wards in Ishgard and the new lottery system introduced with the latest update of Final Fantasy XIV caused an unforeseen problem that has brought a certain level of friction among the community.

Basically, some of the plots that were supposed to be assigned a few days ago were not, as the lottery system failed to pick a winner and simply displayed a “0” as the new tenant.

Today Square Enix published a new post signed directly by producer and director Naoki Yoshida providing an update on the situation.

First of all, Yoshida-san clarified that the lottery system is entirely random. The previous mention of a “pattern” was simply incorrect wording on his side.

The development team is working hard to identify the root cause, but as of now, they have not yet. This will require additional time.

The issue is three-fold as follows:

  • Cases where the lottery was properly conducted internally and a winner exists, but the results display the winning number as 0.
  • Cases where there was a single entry in the lottery, but the results display that there was no entrant or winner.
  • Cases where there is no winner despite entries being made by multiple friends or free company members.

That being said, Yoshida-san offers a ray of hope, explaining that data on the lotteries that failed exists, and the developers will use it to ensure that players are not negatively affected even if they withdrew their downpayment.
