Uri Gellar to Allow Nintendo to Use Kadabra on Pokemon Cards Again

3 years 5 months ago
After nearly 20 years, illusionist and magician Uri Geller has given Nintendo permission to once again use Kadabra on Pokemon cards. Geller, who is perhaps most well-known for his ability to bend spoons with his mind, sued Nintendo in 2000 and asked that Kadabra no longer be allowed to be put on Pokemon cards due to the similarity of Kadabra's spoon and Japanese name to himself. In Japan, Kadabra is written in certain variations that include Yungerer and Yungeller, which are both similar sounding to Geller. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2016/10/25/top-10-scariest-pokemon"] Now, almost 20 years after Kadabra's last appearance on a Pokemon card in 2003, he has changed his mind. "I am truly sorry for what I did 20 years ago," Geller wrote on Twitter. "Kids and grownups I am releasing the ban. It’s now all up to #Nintendo to bring my #kadabra #pokemon card back. It will probably be one of the rarest cards now!

Microsoft Flight Simulator to Get VR Support in December 2020

3 years 5 months ago
Microsoft Flight Simulator will get VR support on December 22, 2020, and a substantial UK World Update will be ready on January 26, 2021. Revealed during an official Microsoft Flight Simulator developer Q&A on Twitch, VR will be added in the free Sim Update 2 for all the big VR headsets, including those from Oculus and Valve. Furthermore, the VR experience will include both the gameplay and menus, offering a smooth and immersive experience throughout. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/17/microsoft-flight-simulator-review"] World Update 3, on the other hand, will create a more accurate rendition of the UK using new data and aerial images for England, Scotland, and Wales. There will also be 50-60 new points of interest, including new landmarks and procedural buildings, and improvements to certain existing airports like Land's End, Liverpool EGGP and Manchester Baron. There will be new challenges and a new flight as well. Improvements to the Northern Ireland region is part of Asobo's plan, but it may not be ready for World Update 3. The UK World Update follows similar ones for Japan and the U.S., and will further improve the already impressive map of the world that players can fly around. Additionally, Asobo said it will be returning to the U.S.

Cyberpunk 2077 PS4-PS5 and Xbox One-Xbox Series X/S Cross-Saves Detailed

3 years 5 months ago
If you begin Cyberpunk 2077 on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you will be able to bring your save with you to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, respectively. Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red detailed the steps needed to ensure your saves will transfer with you to your next-gen console, and they vary slightly between the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/19/cyberpunk-2077-the-final-preview"]

Cyberpunk 2077 PS4-PS5 Cross-Save

As long as you are using the same PlayStation account, you will be able to pick up your game save on PS5 right where you've left on PS4. There are three different options to transfer your saves, and they are as follows;
  1. Connect to your PlayStation Plus account and upload your saves
  2. Transfer your data via LAN cable or wireless connection (WiFi)
  3. Use a compatible storage device to copy and transfer your saves to the same PSN account on PlayStation 5.

Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One-Xbox Series X/S Cross-Save

It's a bit easier on the Xbox side of things with cross-save, as Smart Delivery "allows you to continue playing the game on Xbox Series X/S from where you’ve left off on the Xbox One." As long as your are connected to the internet so your saved data can be uploaded to the cloud, your save will transfer seamlessly and will be ready when you start Cyberpunk 2077 on your new next-gen system. If you need another option, you can also "connect both your Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S to the same network and use the system network transfer option." PS5 Users May Be Getting Banned for Selling PS Plus Collection to PS4 Owners

3 years 5 months ago
The PlayStation Plus Collection is a perk for PS5 owners that gives them access to 20 of the best PS4 games. However, some are exploiting a loophole that allows them sell and unlock these games for PS4 owners. As reported by VGC, auction sites like eBay have multiple listings of people offering the chance for them to log on to a buyer's PSN account, unlock the PlayStation Plus Collection games on PS4, and then logging out. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/09/16/playstation-plus-collection-trailer"] There are certain users that have sold this service to over 20 people, but it appears that Sony may be banning them for doing so. As VGC points out, it also may be because Sony has been known to ban people who log into a high number of users accounts in one day as a protection against fraud, but it's pretty safe to say Sony didn't intend for this to be an option. According to users on A9VG, certain user's bans are said to be for two months and the PS5 consoles involved are permanently being blocked from network services. The PlayStation Plus Collection includes such first-party games as God of War, Bloodborne, and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, as well as some from third-party partners like Monster Hunter: World, Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition, and Persona 5. The Continuingly Confusing Case of the UK's Missing PS5s

3 years 5 months ago

There’s nothing more exciting than opening a brand new console on launch day.

Unless of course, yours turns out to be a bag of cat litter. Or a George Foreman grill, or tins of dog food, or bed sheets, or fitness equipment, or a Himalayan Salt Lamp.

For me, it was an air fryer that sat in my Amazon package, in place of the PS5 I’d ordered from Amazon months previously.

On launch day, excited my PS5 package had finally arrived after an unexpected delay, I hit record on my phone to capture its unboxing. But, after giving the driver the special password from Amazon to ensure a secure delivery, I discovered I had been sent a kitchen appliance instead. The anticlimax was captured on film.

Taking inspiration from the grid-based movement and combat of the Final Fantasy Tactics series, War of the Visions (WOTV FFBE) pitches players into a battle between five nations. From the noble red lion warriors of Leonis to the unparalleled military might of savage Fennes, each nation has a stake in the conflict that threatens to consume the continent of Ardra, part of FFBE’s wider world of Lapis. From Wednesday November 18 to Tuesday December 15, new heroes will be added to this fight courtesy of a Final Fantasy IV collaboration event. Cecil, Kain, and Rosa arrive in different forms and are obtained via different means. As we break down exactly how they can be recruited let’s also take a minute to understand who they are and what they can do. Heroes of legend they may be, but they share a tangled relationship, indeed. First, Cecil is the hero of Final Fantasy IV, originally released in 1991 for the SNES/Super Famicom. A Dark Knight who becomes a Paladin, Cecil is brave, loyal, and in love with Rosa.

Microsoft Working on Why PS5 Outperforms Xbox Series X on Certain Games

3 years 5 months ago
While Microsoft has been touting that the Xbox Series X is the "world's most powerful console," the PS5 is outperforming it in early game tests, and Microsoft is working on why. As reported by The Verge, Digital Foundry has been analyzing some of the new games across both the PS5 - which is capable of 10.28 teraflops of GPU performance - and Xbox Series X - which is capable of 12 teraflops - and it's not as one-sided as it initially appeared. In Devil May Cry 5, the Xbox Series X has better performance in 4K and ray tracing modes, but the higher frame rate option runs better on PS5, with the frame rate gaps being more than 40fps in some cases. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/05/xbox-series-x-review"] “The dips look really strange to me, and it kind of suggests to me some kind of API limitation on the Xbox side where the GPU is being held back by something,” suggests Digital Foundry editor Richard Leadbetter. Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which has been heavily promoted by Microsoft, also runs a bit smoother on PS5, with the Xbox Series X version showing screen tearing and regular frame rate dips below 60fps. The same story plays out in Dirt 5, where image quality and resolution go in PS5's favor.

Kingdom Hearts Collaboration Adds Famous Faces to Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

3 years 5 months ago
Partner Content by Square Enix SE Logo [poilib element="accentDivider"] Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is the long-running RPG from Square Enix and the most-downloaded Final Fantasy mobile app in the world, with 45 million free downloads since its original release of the Japanese version in 2015. During the past four years following the release of its global version, this original mobile experience has continued to introduce brand new characters to Final Fantasy canon, featured famous faces from the series’ storied history (including pixel art versions of Final Fantasy VII’s Cloud and Tifa), and told a tale of friendship, fear, courage and conflict in the world of Lapis. In a new collaboration event running from Thursday November 26 to Wednesday December 9, the characters of Final Fantasy are joined by some familiar figures from another of Square Enix’s well-established RPG franchises, Kingdom Hearts. The worlds of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (FFBE) and those of this summer’s mobile RPG Kingdom Hearts Uχ Dark Road (KHDR) collide to tell the story of how arch-villain Xehanort – the main antagonist of the first phase of the Kingdom Heats saga – once trod the path of novice Keyblade wielder on his way to becoming the Seeker of Darkness. Alongside learning the truth of Xehanort’s past, there is a host of in-game events to explore, new special Kingdom Hearts collaboration units to summon, and bonuses to earn to empower your existing roster of characters.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Major Update Adds Graphics Options and More

3 years 5 months ago
Ubisoft has deployed a major title update for Assassin's Creed Valhalla across all platforms, which brings with it new graphical options for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and many bug fixes across all platforms. The full patch notes can be found here. The 1.0.4 update is rolling out over the course of November 26 on Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Stadia and Amazon Luna. One of the main new features is the ability to flip between Performance and Quality mode on Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5. In Performance mode, the game will "adapt the resolution and graphics settings to maintain 60 FPS." In Quality mode, Valhalla will run at max resolution and graphics settings "while maintaining 30 FPS." Ubisoft notes that Performance mode is the default setting for both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, whereas Quality mode is the default for the Xbox Series S. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/09/assassins-creed-valhalla-review"] This update has also apparently improved the game's experience on the Xbox Series X and S following reports of screen tearing from users and addressed a RAM leak when PC players alt-tabbed to the desktop while playing.

CD Projekt Really Wants Us to Know Cyberpunk 2077 Is Coming Out on December 10

3 years 5 months ago
After three previous delays, it's no wonder some are still worried that Cyberpunk 2077 could miss its December 10 release date. It's also no wonder that CD Projekt really wants you to know that it won't be missing that date. In the company's Q3 earnings reports, that date is mentioned multiple times, in multiple places. The date is referenced 4 times in the company's Q3 financial statement, earns itself two separate slides in its investor presentation, and company CFO Piotr Nielubowicz references upcoming release date in a video message to investors. "The final stretch before the release calls for enormous dedication and cooperation on the part of the whole team, which is now all the more difficult given that the vast majority of the team continues to work from home. This is why I wish to extend my deepest thanks to the entire team for their determination and hard work. Together we are wrapping up the grandest project in our history.
