SaGa Frontier Remastered Announced for Summer 2021

3 years 4 months ago
Square Enix has announced that SaGa Frontier Remastered will bring an updated version of the 1998 PS1 JRPG classic to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Steam, iOS, and Android in Summer 2021. SaGa Frontier will bring "updated graphics, events, cutscenes, enhancements," and even a new protagonist named Fuse that also may be known as Detective Roster. As with many remastered RPGs, it also includes a high speed function to help with the many battles players will undoubtedly face. In our SaGa Frontier Review back in 1998, we said "In all fairness, SaGa Frontier has a great story, it's a little vague at first, but when all the scenarios begin to knit themselves together, the game starts to get really good. If you like role-playing games, and you're just itching for another Square RPG, SaGa Frontier is probably a safe purchase -- most Square games are. But if you get the chance, I'd rent it first." SaGa Frontier is the seventh game in the SaGa series, a series that began in 1989 with The Final Fantasy Legend. Nintendo is set to release the Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend on December 15, 2020, and it will bring together the first three titles in the SaGa - The Final Fantasy Legend, Final Fantasy Legend II, and Final Fantasy Legend III.
