Battlefield 2042 Season 2 Details Revealed

1 year 8 months ago

Battlefield 2042 is about to enter Season 2 – Master of Arms.

The upcoming season begins on August 30th on all platforms and brings a new map, a new specialist, plenty of new weapons and hardware, and 100 tiers of new battle pass content.

Season 2: Master of Arms moves the action to the Panama Canal with its new Stranded map – an exciting new fight across a drained lake, with a shipwrecked tanker that also serves as an illicit black-market hub.

Battlefield 2042 players will find themselves vying for control of the Starg Ceres, now a market for illicit military hardware. As you might expect, the tanker itself favors close-quarters combat with tight corridors, a lot of cover, and short distances between objectives. Might want to pack a shotgun.

Charlie Crawford is your new specialist in Season 2 – an ex-arms dealer with a Mounted Vulcan stationary minigun (which can be used by other Specialists) and the ability to revive teammates and refill their gadget ammo.

On the subject of weapons, Season 2 packs a few new guns to get your hands on.

The new AM40 offers a mid-range alternative that sits somewhere between an assault rifle and a sub-machine gun, while the Avancys is a lightweight machine gun that maximizes mobility as well as attachments. The PF51 sits between an SMG and a pistol, albeit with a huge magazine.

The new concussion grenade gives players the chance to daze and confuse their enemies.

Find Out What a Perfect Day in Disney Dreamlight Valley Looks Like in this New Trailer

1 year 8 months ago

We’re only a few days away from the official release of Disney Dreamlight Valley, and developer Gameloft has wasted no time in showing it off during Gamescom week. They’ve just dropped a new trailer showing off various characters and locales featured in the game, and yeah, it looks pretty damn idyllic.

You can check out the trailer for yourself down below:

One of my biggest personal takeaways is that Remy has his very own restaurant that you can visit, and that’s pretty much all I need to check out this game. Other iconic characters like Scrooge McDuck and Kristoff from Frozen also show up in the trailer, and if you ever wanted a farming/life sim game that featured most of your favorite Disney icons, this is probably the game to look out for.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is set to be released for PC and consoles on Sept. 6.

Minecraft Legends Gets New Trailer as Developers Talk About the Game

1 year 8 months ago

Today Microsoft released a new trailer of the upcoming action strategy game Minecraft Legends.

The trailer focuses on the backstory of the game that has the Piglins invading the overworld and a hero uniting everyone to fight them back.

On top of the trailer, we also get a video segment with the developers in which they explain what the game is all about and how it’s being developed.

The video also showcases brief glimpses of gameplay while creative director Magnus Nedfors and executive producer Dennis Ries explain what we can expect from an action strategy game set in the Minecraft world.

Interestingly, we hear that adding a hero to the strategy game slows down the tempo of the RTS gameplay and makes it more suitable to be played on a console.

Ultimately the developers want to create that can be enjoyed by both gamers that don’t usually play strategy games and enthusiasts of the genre as well.

You can find both videos below for your viewing pleasure.

What Is the Name of the Law Firm She-Hulk Works For?

1 year 8 months ago

Bruce made it clear Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk) that being a Hulk would bring unwanted baggage, and he was right. Soon after her transformation in the premiere episode, in an effort to prevent Titania from causing more harm, Jennifer Walters is fired. She tries and tries to get a new job, but one wants to hire She-Hulk; it’s too much of a risk. On one fateful night at the bar, someone throws her a bone and she’s back in the lawyer business. So, what is the name of the law firm She-Hulk works for?

What Law Firm Does She-Hulk Work At?

She-Hulk, as of Episode 2, works for GLK&H—an acronym for Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg, and Holliway. When Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk) is offered the job to join their firm, it’s Holden Holliway doing the talking. In a twist that only lawyers would pull, it was actually Holden Holliway who originally pushed for a mistrial.

However, it comes with all kinds of strings. For starters, it’s not so much Jennifer Walters doing the lawyering, but She-Hulk. See, Holden Holliway wants to start a new division of their law firm: the Superhuman Law Division. What better way to represent the cases they take on than their very own superhero? To make matters worse, she’ll be representing Emil Blonsky (Abomination), who was ordered to kill Bruce in The Incredible Hulk (that’s canon, by the way).

As mentioned before, GLK&H specifically wants She-Hulk on superhuman cases. These include libel, personal damages, and extraterrestrial incidences. For example, one such case was Spider-Man v. The Daily Bugle. Another was Constrictor v. Hercules, in an effort to get Hercules to pay for personal damages.

How to Uninstall League of Legends

1 year 8 months ago

You likely have a friend or two that hasn’t logged into League of Legends in quite some time. Maybe they were burned out or weren’t getting that satisfaction from the game anymore. You might be feeling that, too. Sometimes League of Legends has corrupted files and reinstalling is the best course of action. Whatever the reason is to rid yourself of Riot Games’ popular MOBA, you’ll need to know how to uninstall League of Legends.

How to Uninstall League of Legends

Unlike, say, Steam, uninstalling League of Legends takes a bit of legwork. It’s easy, but very tedious. It involves using Windows’ Control Panel. Here’s what you do:

  1. Open the Start menu.

It’s located in the bottom-left corner. You may also open it using the Windows key.

  2. While the Start menu is open, type “Control Panel” and it will automatically search for it.

Select it from the search results.

  3. Under “Programs” click “Uninstall a program.”

Microsoft Flight Simulator Announces New Free Aircraft for 40th Anniversary Edition; City Update 1 and Junkers F13 Released; Helicopter & Glider Footage Revealed

Is Abomination in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law?

1 year 8 months ago

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is a series that is looking to finally expand the world of the Hulk, introducing many new characters from across the Incredible Hulk comics, with each episode expanding this world even more. However, what is going on with the characters that have already been introduced years ago, especially someone like Abomination in particular? Well, we have the answer for you as this is whether or not Abomination is in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Is Abomination in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law?

Yes, Abomination has now been seen within the series in its second episode, “Superhuman Law.” So far, we have seen Emil Blonsky in only one scene, as Jennifer’s new law firm wants her to take on his parole case. After getting her cousin’s approval at the end of the episode, She-Hulk makes the declaration that she will be taking on Blonsky as her client.

Abomination has been in the MCU almost since the beginning, appearing in the 2008 film, The Incredible Hulk, starring Edward Norton. This movie is clearly still canon to the MCU, something made apparent by the multiple references to the movie during the episode, with even a meta-joke added in about the casting change to Mark Ruffalo.

Over a decade after first being introduced, Blonsky finally appeared again in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, where he was found brawling with Wong in Xialing’s Golden Daggers Club. While we got pretty much no explanation at the time about why these two were involved at the fight club, given the ending of episode two of She-Hulk, we’ll likely get an answer very soon.

Is Wong in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law?

1 year 8 months ago

With episode 2 of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law out now on Disney+, the show is starting to ramp up a major conflict in the show. After getting fired at her job, Jennifer Walters is offered a comfy position at GLK&H, but only if she maintains her She-Hulk persona and accepts a case defending Emil Blonsky (Abomination). The last time we saw Abomination was in Shang-Chi; he was duking it out in the fighting pit with Wong. In fact, their fight was leaked in the final moments of episode 2 of She-Hulk. If Abomination is making an appearance, is Wong in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, too?

Is Wong in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law?

Yes, Wong will be in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. He hasn’t made himself known just yet, but you can see bits of his involvement in an official trailer for She-Hulk. However, it’s still unclear as to how Wong will impact the plot, if at all.

With that said, it will certainly focus on Wong and Abomination’s apparent friendship. They were quite chummy with one another in Shang-Chi. When it was revealed on the news that Abomination had escaped, it was only moments later that Wong opened a portal that led back to Abomination’s maximum security cell. If anyone can break Abomination out of his cell, it’s Wong, Sorcerer Supreme.

Dark Souls 3 PC Servers Are Back Online, Others to Follow

1 year 8 months ago

Dark Souls 3 Server PC

FromSoftware has restored online servers for the PC version of Dark Souls 3 as of August 25th, 2022. The news comes after a group of hackers managed to find a major security exploit in the game's code earlier this year. FromSoftware also announced that the servers for PC versions of Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls Remastered will also follow suit at a later date.

Back in January 2022, a group of white hat hackers found an exploit in Dark Souls 3. The security exploit would reportedly allow hackers to remotely execute commands on any player connected to the Dark Souls 3 servers. After bringing this to the attention of FromSoftware, the company decided to shut down the game's servers. As many games in the Dark Souls franchise share netcode, this also resulted in the PC servers of Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls Remastered going offline.

https://twitter.com/fromsoftware_sp/status/1562718933903613953?s=20&t=qBfzxNobGafjSW8E9534rQ

Over half a year later, it appears FromSoftware has managed to fix the issue. As such, FromSoftware announced that it had "finalized its investigation and countermeasures". Similarly, it is currently working on applying the countermeasures to Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls Remastered. FromSoftware added that it would inform players once the countermeasures have been applied.

Dark Souls 3 is available to play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

What we've been playing

Hello! Welcome back to our regular feature where we write a little bit about some of the games we've found ourselves playing over the last few days. This time: Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy, and one of the greatest games of all time.

If you fancy catching up on some of the older editions of What We've Been Playing, here's our archive.

When people talk about Final Fantasy 7, I go a bit quiet because, between you and me, I never actually played it. And I know, I know, but I didn't have a PlayStation so how could I? All I could do was go to my friend's house and watch him play, but there's a limit to how long you can do that before it gets weird and the parents throw you out.

Why Vikings on Trampolines Took Two Decades to Make

1 year 8 months ago

D-Pad Studio is not known for rushing its work. Its second game, 2016’s Owlboy, took the team ten years to make. It was restarted multiple times due to studio concerns about fan expectations in the wake of a new renaissance for Metroidvanias, various life events, and director Simon Stafsnes Andersen’s acknowledged struggles with depression. And now, D-Pad is on the cusp of releasing a game that’s taken them even longer to complete: Vikings on Trampolines, which has been in the works for 20 years.

Speaking to IGN at Gamescom, creator Jo-Remi Madsen says that their bouncing battler was conceived when he was about 14 years old, playing games like Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. with his sister. “She would always give up,” Madsen says, because even though she understood how to play, she couldn’t figure out the controller and found his explanations of how it worked boring. So he began working on a game that only used the joystick to play: a core concept that Vikings on Trampolines still rests upon in 2022.

So how did the vikings end up on trampolines? When Madsen programmed the earliest version of the game, he didn’t know how to make characters walk yet. But he could make them jump. “I’m not an animator,” he says, “so if I just make them bounce, I don’t have to animate anything.”

Vikings on Trampolines Hands-On Preview | gamescom 2022

1 year 8 months ago

Much like the two button fighting game, Divekick, Vikings on Trampolines is a game that manages to squeeze a ton of fun and depth out of the simplest of controls. It’s a 2D “bounce-em-up” game that is surprisingly self-explanatory: You are a Viking, you bounce off trampolines, and attempt to stay alive by avoiding the ground like it’s lava. It’s about as easy to pick up-and-play as a game can get, and based on my 15-20 minutes with an early build of the game, it’s a game that I definitely want to pick up and play much more of in the future.

The wild thing about Vikings on Trampolines is that it’s a game that’s played entirely with the control stick. Every level begins with you being dropped onto a trampoline, and from there you can only move left and right as you aim to land on another trampoline to keep yourself alive. You can hold down to drop faster, and you can hold up to slow your descent and give yourself a little flutter jump. And that’s about it. Those are all of the controls that you need to explain to someone who’s never played.

It’s the things that get between you and the life-saving trampolines that really make Vikings on Trampoline sing - whether that be other players, enemies that need to be bounced on and knocked out, or soccer balls that need to be smacked into the opposing goal. There was a ton of variety on display even in just the short demo that I got to play. The main attraction so far seems to be the adventure mode, which is fully playable both in solo and co-op, and pits you against a series of boss battles, challenges, and minigames. In one boss fight, we had to avoid getting crushed by a bird in a giant stone statue, timing our jumps so we could get above the statue to bounce on it when it stomped down.

Netflix have also hired screenwriter Michael Green for the BioShock flick. Green wrote the Kenneth Branagh versions of Agatha Christie’s Murder On The Orient Express and Death On The Nile. I guess that means he’s got experience of period settings.

Denuvo has clarified more details of its upcoming Nintendo Switch Emulator Protection solution, which it announced earlier this week.

In its announcement, the company invited publishers to include Denuvo's anti-tamper software in Switch games to help crack down on piracy and PC emulation. But many fans were not happy with Denuvo's involvement, worried about the effect the software may have on performance.

A Denuvo spokeperson has since responded to questions surrounding the software, as well as the driving parties behind it.

Total War, Hyenas developer Creative Assembly announces new "action project"

1 year 8 months ago

Developer Creative Assembly has revealed it is working on a new "action project" that will sit alongside the likes of Total War and its long-in-the-works sci-fi shooter Hyenas.

But don't expect to hear more on this project anytime soon, Creative Assembly said today. Instead, there will be a "significant wait before further details are revealed" on this new franchise. Intriguingly, the company noted it also had plans for a separate "yet to be announced project".

While Creative Assembly did not go into any specifics about what its new action project will look like, it did state that its studio in Sofia would be leading its development, and noted it was now looking for candidates to join the team that had "experience working on third-person titles using the Unreal 5 engine".

High on Life Gets Extended Gameplay Video Full of Shooting, Cursing

1 year 8 months ago

High on Life has received a new video offering an extensive look at the title’s gameplay, and it’s raunchier elements are on full display.

Shown off at Microsoft’s Gamescom 2022 booth, the video offers a more detailed look at the game’s story, characters and combat. Some segments are sped up for the sake of getting past moments where the developers got lost or distracted, but otherwise the game’s comedy and first person shooter gameplay are put on full display.

The video starts with the main character interacting with their partner and an alien named Gene who is crashing in their house. Gene asks the player character to retrieve a stolen knife for them, and tasks them with accepting a bounty put out on an alien while they do so. This is done through the Bounty 5000, a machine that players will use to pick targets to hunt down and take out with their talking gun. For the video, they’re tasked with tracking down 9-Torg, a criminal who heads a small criminal operation.

The player character then moves out into the world, following waypoints toward their selected bounty while their talking weapon guides them through their journey. Along the way, they encounter an alien child that won’t let them pass without shooting them, and the jokes that ensue are as dark and fourth wall-breaking as one would expect from a Justin Roiland production.

A Star-Studded Submarine Thriller Is Sinking the Competition on Streaming Charts Right Now

1 year 8 months ago

Submarine thrillers used to be the du jour a few decades ago. 2000’s U-571, which starred Jon Bon Jovi, Bill Paxton, and Harvey Keitel springs to mind as a really successful one, and of course, you can’t forget John McTiernan’s 1990 classic The Hunt for the Red October whenever the topic of submarine warfare comes up. Today, however, a modern action-thriller that centers around those aforementioned aquatic war machines has pressed the red button and exploded to the top of streaming charts.

Specifically, the film in question is 2018’s Hunter Killer which has managed to launch its torpedoes at the competition and rise all the way to the number 4 spot on Hulu, according to FlixPatrol. This means it’s one of the most-watched films on the entire platform right now. Not too shabby, huh?

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Is the Shooter 40k Deserves

1 year 8 months ago

We don’t get big-budget Warhammer 40,000 games all that regularly. And when we do, they’re rarely action-packed shooters. That already makes the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, from Vermintide developer Fatshark, a rarity. But, based on the 30-minute, four-player co-op session I played at Gamescom 2022, I think Darktide may be the rarest of rares: a genuinely good 40k FPS.

Anyone who loves Games Workshop’s grimdark future will know that it’s the specific details that make the setting what it is. A lasrifle, for instance, is not the pew-pew E-11 blaster that the Stormtroopers of Star Wars use. It shares more in common with the infantry rifles of World War 1 than it does a sci-fi laser weapon, and Fatshark has captured its character perfectly. It jolts in the hand with each blast, the laser scorching the air around it as it travels. Pulling the magazine from the gun causes sparks to erupt, a nod to it being a cheap, mass-produced killing machine.

All the equipment I used in the demonstration had this attention to detail. The hacking device, used as part of a choke-point defence objective that anyone who’s played a Left 4 Dead-alike will recognise, was a servo skull (a computer that’s literally made from the head of a former servant of mankind). As I defended that skull from waves of oncoming enemies I occasionally had to recalibrate it via a mini-game played on an Auspex scanner. Its green-glowing screen displayed lines of symbols that Warhammer fans will have seen printed on many a Codex and transfer sheet.

Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles DLC Brings the Main Trio From The Entertainment District

1 year 8 months ago

hinokami chronicles dlc

Three more DLC characters will appear in Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles, and they will be alternate versions of the main trio of Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu. These versions are based on the Entertainment District Arc. They will be available in mid-September 2022. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

The three DLC characters who will appear in Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles are: Tanjiro (Blood Tears), Inosuke (and Muscular Mice), and Zenitsu (Crossdressing Version). While Inosuke looks like his normal version, he will likely have a different move set. This is so that he can accommodate for the mice. As for Tanjiro, the Blood Tears version is based on how he appears during his fight against Daki.

Tanjiro (Blood Tears), Inosuke (and Muscular Mice), and Zenitsu (Crossdressing Version) will be the latest additions to the Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles DLC roster. They will be joining characters Tengen Uzui, Daki, Gyutaro, and Nezuko Kamado (Awakened). During the initial announcements, it was revealed that we would get DLC versions of Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu. However, it had not been clear as how they would appear in-game. Like the others, they will be paid DLC.
