Nintendo has just added three more classic titles to the Nintendo Switch Online NES and SNES library of games. Pinball, Congo’s Caper, and Rival Turf are now available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers to play.

Pinball was originally released on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1984. It was based on the Pinball version of Game & Watch and was a launch game for the NES in North America.

Congo’s Caper was originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992. It’s a side-scrolling platformer in which you play as a half-human, half-monkey boy named Congo across 35 levels.

Rival Turf is a beat-em-up game that was originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992. In this game, you play as a teenager named Jack Flak who must rescue his girlfriend Heather from Big Al and his gang.

Of course, you need to be a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber in order to play these classic NES and SNES games. The previous three NES and SNES games added to the service was earlier this year in March; just last week, a new Nintendo 64 game was added to the library for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members.

In a brand new teaser trailer for the show, which you can see above, Disney+ revealed that Star Wars: Andor will begin streaming on Aug. 31, 2022. Unfortunately, a recent development has revealed that the show’s debut has been delayed until Sept. 21, 2022 with the first three episodes – subsequent chapters will feature one release a week.

According to Deadline, Star Wars: Andor is already confirmed for two 12-episode seasons, making for a total of 24 episodes confirmed so far.

Andor is expanding its initial first season 12-episode run to 24 episodes with an unsurprising second season. Showrunner Tony Gilroy said today that the series will be back in front on the cameras in November for a Part 2. “We’re going to rewind 5 years back from Rogue One, Gilmore told fans onstage Thursday. “We’ve already shot 12 episodes!”

In Nintendo’s Ask the Developer Volume 5, several “behind the scenes” facts were revealed about Nintendo Switch Sports, including the detail that the game almost had playable robot characters instead of the human characters it ended up with.

This fifth volume of Ask the Developer interviews some of the developers of Nintendo Switch Sports, such as Takayuki Shimamura (producer), Yoshikazu Yamashita (director), and more. The interview dives into how the team was aiming to create the world’s “most easy-to-invite to, motion-based game.”

There are four pages worth of conversation from this interview; we’ll detail some of the most interesting points from it.

The development of Nintendo Switch Sports started not long after the Switch was released, and it began as a request to create the next title in the Wii Sports series. At first, Yamashita thought there was nothing left to do, so the team explored new directions. They even considered making it without motion controls entirely but realized that removed the charm of Wii Sports.

The team found it more difficult to implement accurate-feeling swinging motion controls on the Joy-Con than they had on the Wii Remotes for Wii Sports, which made development tricky. It was important for them to achieve motion accuracy that worked beyond 90% detection in order for the sports to feel realistic, which took a long time to get right.

One of the big differences between Nintendo Switch Sports and the original Wii Sports title is the removal of Miis as the default character; instead, there is a new style of human character called Sportsmates that the player can customize and play as. However, the team didn’t have the style decided from the start.

During the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim Lucasfilm has debuted the official teaser trailer for Willow. The beloved Warwick Davis is reprising his role as Willow Ufgood, along with new characters joining him in the adventure. Since the release of the 1988 film adaptation of the story, Disney+ will now continue this fantasy narrative as a television series.

In the film, Willow Ufgood is a simple farmer that gets his world turned upside down when he finds a baby girl in a river. He must keep her safe after a great danger attacks his people and attempts to kill her. Willow, his companions, and others he meets along the way embark on a mystical expedition unlike any other. The journey is a long dark road where they learn the secrets of the child that could determine the fate of the world.

The latest release of the TV series showcases Willow, once again, in an epic battle between good and evil. He must venture into the unknown with all-new characters in the story as an older and wiser sorcerer.

The Make It Rain Gold Saucer event will return to FFXIV. Players will have the opportunity to obtain two new emotes through the FFXIV Make It Rain 2022 Gold Saucer event. The event will begin on June 3 and last until June 20, 2022. This gives players roughly two weeks to obtain the "Show Left" and "Show Right" emotes from the event.

Like previous Make It Rain campaigns, MGP rewards from the Gold Saucer will be increased by 50% during the event period. Additionally, certain items that were available to obtain from previous iterations of the event will be available to purchase from the event vendor. However, the promotional website did not reveal which items would be returning through the event.

Square Enix has shared a screenshot of the two new emotes that will appear in the FFXIV Make it Rain 2022 Gold Saucer event. Two player characters can be seen on their knees, proudly displaying the Cactuar between them. You can take a look at the emotes below.

In order to participate in the event, players will need to have completed "The Gridanian Envoy," "Th Ul'dahn Envoy," or "The Lominsan Envoy." Additionally, they must be at least level 15. This is due to the in-game nature of unlocking access to the Gold Saucer.

Square Enix released a new teaser trailer for Dragon Quest Treasures. Released as part of the series' 36th anniversary, the trailer showcases a few new characters, locations, and story details. Additionally, more information about the game will release sometime in June 2022.

Dragon Quest Treasures is a spin-off title featuring a younger Erik and his little sister Mia, both of whom appeared in Dragon Quest XI. Much like Torneko: The Last Hope, it is a spin-off story where the two characters search for a lost treasure. The game first appeared exactly one year ago, during the Dragon Quest 35th-anniversary announcements.

Notably, the trailer appears both in English and Japanese. This means that fans will get to hear what Erik and Mia sound with English voices. It also likely indicates a western release in the future. Furthermore, the trailer also reveals that the game's official Japanese title will roughly translate to Dragon Quest Treasures: Blue Eyes and the Firmament's Compass. While specific story details are still scarce, the trailer does show some sort of flying steam train.

Not long ago I attended a journo event in Paris, where game devs and their demo booths lined the walls. But none stood out quite like Clash: Artifacts Of Chaos, a third-person fighting adventure set in a punk-fantasy universe. Despite only the briefest of hands-on sessions cut short by sod's law, I simply can't shake the game from my short back and sides-furnished skull. I think I need someone to roundhouse kick me into reality, before I fall asleep and wake up in the fantastical reams of Zenozoik for good.

Valve have wheeled out another major Steam Deck software update, featuring some tasty changes that have been available to try on the SteamOS beta branch for a few weeks. Namely, SteamOS 3.2 tweaks the Deck’s fan curve to make it quieter (especially under light load), and adds the option to set the screen’s refresh rate anywhere between 40Hz and 60Hz – potentially saving battery life in exchange for a lower frames-per-second ceiling.

A new update for the Steam Deck has made its remote play together option "completely functional".

This will cover those hosting and those joining a game session. To try it out for yourself, all you need to do is select a game that supports the feature, then head over the Quick Access Menu and you should be ready to roll.

As well as updating this feature, users will now also get a message letting them know when their Deck is running out of space. A notification will pop up when there is less than 2GB of space remaining.

Gotham Knights' development team has addressed the recent criticism surrounding its depiction of Barbara Gordon.

During a recent Q&A, fans asked more about the development of Barbara, aka Batgirl. This was following a backlash to her character's biography on the game's website, which described her as training to "recover from her wounds" so that she could "return to active duty as Batgirl".

In the comic books, Barbara Gordon is shot in the spine by Joker, leading to her using a wheelchair. While she may not have the exact same backstory in Gotham Knights, Warner Bros. previously stated Barbara was in a wheelchair following a "face-off".

Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play ARPG for PC and mobile, but a lot of fans are wondering whether or not the game will also come to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S at a future date. Of course, not everyone has a PC powerful enough to play it, or just may not want to play the latest entry in Activision Blizzard’s epic series on their phone or tablet. That’s raised the question of whether or not the game could come to consoles at a later date.

Is Diablo Immortal Coming to Xbox Consoles?

At the time of writing, no, Diablo Immortal is not slated to be coming to Xbox One or the Xbox Series X|S systems.

The free-to-play, loot-based ARPG is currently set to release only on PC and mobile devices. This may come as disappointing to some players, but to quote the developers “do you guys not have phones?!”

Since that now infamous quote, the developers have announced that Diablo Immortal will also come to PC in a beta on June 2, the same date that the game will receive its full release on iOS and Android devices.

Should there be any news on an Xbox console port of the game, we’ll update this post and let you know. But for now, there’s nothing to suggest this will happen.

The Gundam Game Fest event ended with another new game announcement, this time covering mobile platforms. Like SD Gundam Battle Alliance, SD Gundam G Generation Eternal stars the super-deformed iterations of the iconic mobile suits. Unlike Battle Alliance, Eternal is a tactical RPG. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Square Enix will release a NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... Play Arts Kai figure of Kaine. Pre-orders for the figure are immediately available, with it expected to ship on January 28, 2023. It will cost 20,680 yen (about $162) and will come with a plethora of accessories. These include additional hands, weapons, and even a miniature Grimoire Weiss.

The figure can be posed in a variety of ways, and with additional accessories can replicate poses from promotional materials. It will come with a total of seven hands, two cleaver accessories, a broken cleaver accessory, an extra face plate, the mentioned Grimoire Weiss, and a Lunar Tear. There is also an additional attachment for the lower half of her outfit.

Square Enix has previously released several NieR: Automata Play Arts Kai. This has included an A2 Play Arts Kai and a 2B Play Arts Kai. Like Kaine, each of these figures came with accessories such as different face plates and weapons.

Consumers can purchase a Final Fantasy Trading Card Game anniversary collection set through the Square Enix e-STORE. It will cost $59.99 and will come with a total of 253 cards. However, one of the most significant additions to the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game anniversary collection set is the inclusion of special promotional cards. The collection is available to purchase in North America and Europe as well. [Thanks, Gamer!]

A total of four promotional cards will be available through the set. This includes Squall, Yuna, and Lightning promotional cards. Additionally, the anniversary collection set will also feature a Yun and Tidus promotional card. It features artwork from the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. The next major Gundam game will take place in Bandai Namco's SD Gundam spinoff line. SD Gundam Battle Alliance is an action RPG that spans the different histories of the Gundam universe. It will release on multiple platforms on August 25, 2022.

The trailer establishes the setting of SD Gundam Battle Alliance as the "G: Universe," a place under threat by the "Break" phenomenon. The Breaks are disruptions in the timeline that cause the proper histories of various Mobile Suit Gundam stories to mix and blend. In one example, the iconic duel between Gouf pilot Ramba Ral and original Gundam pilot Amuro Ray is turned into one against Gundam Barbatos, the main mobile suit of Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. The Breaks are caused by the action of Gundam Latreia, a new original mecha design by Kuramochi Kyoryu, an illustrator credited with mecha and character designs for various franchises including Kamen Rider Kabuto, Muv-Luv Alternative, and Gundam Walpurgis.

Genshin Impact will be back next week with its Version 2.7 update, which hit a three-week delay earlier this month. Among the headline new features anticipated in Phase I of the update is the addition of a new 5-star event-exclusive character, Hydro bow wielder Yelan. You'll be able to wish for her in the gacha from May 31st, but in the meantime, MiHoYo have set up a web event to let players get to know this mysterious newcomer a little bit better. Naturally, you'll be rewarded with in-game goodies (including Primogems) for taking part.

Mojang have revealed that Minecraft’s first major update of 2022, 1.19 The Wild, will arrive on June 7th to zhuzh up the game’s wildlife and biomes. There’ll also be some new aggressive mobs to contend with if you choose to venture down into the dark underground.

Square Enix is rolling back on recent balance changes to PvP in Final Fantasy 14.

Previous patch 6.11a included numerous balance adjustments, particularly to the black mage job, in addition to removing the automatic inactive log out.

However, following negative feedback from fans, producer and director Naoki Yoshida has admitted the team got the adjustments wrong.

Today brings the first two episodes of the new Obi-Wan Kenobi show for Disney+, so of course the bearded Jedi has also turned up in Fortnite's item shop.

The one downside? You can't use Obi-Wan's trusty lightsaber, which instead hangs limply from his trusty Jedi backpack.

Fortnite has previously featured lightsabers as weapons - and very fun they are too. You can strike, block and perform a neat little combat roll while holding them, and players facing off against each other will often like to go one-on-one with you as a proper duel.

Yesterday, Sony announced plans for a further swathe of PlayStation game adaptations, and noted it had greenlit both a Horizon Zero Dawn series for Netflix and a God of War show for Amazon.

There was also the briefest of confirmations for a more mysterious Gran Turismo project - and now, Deadline has provided a few more details.

For starters, Sony's plan for Gran Turismo is to turn it into a film, though work is still "in very early development". Neill Blomkamp, director of District 9, is reportedly being "eyed" to helm the project.

Mobile game Plague Inc has celebrated its tenth anniversary via a Reddit Q&A with creator James Vaughan.

Over 180 million people have played the game since its release in May 2012, with a spike following the Covid-19 outbreak.

Asked how big the uptick in players had been since the pandemic, Vaughan replied: "Interestingly, Plague Inc has always got more popular whenever people get ill, eg When Plague Inc was #1 in Japan - we saw big spikes every time there was a bad flu outbreak. When Ebola was spreading in 2015, we saw a big worldwide spike in players. When Covid first started though we saw the biggest increase in players ever - it lasted for about a month and then went back down to normal levels.
