Pokimane, one of Twitch’s biggest and most popular streamers with over 8.5 million followers, was banned from the platform last night while streaming the cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender. The ban is temporary, according to Pokimane, but is a sign that Twitch’s growing “TV Meta” is probably going to cause further…
And then it was time for Toronto to drown in the sweet sorrow of Clash At Demonhead, again, but in the form of an anime. That’s right, Netflix is planning to develop a new adaptation to the cult classic comic book and movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Rust has sold over 12 million copies.
Making the announcement in a new year round-up, developer Facepunch revealed that as well as selling 12,481,079 copies of the game, it's also sold over one million DLC packs - a surprisingly modest number, given the number of people invested in the vanilla game, perhaps? - and has over 400,000 users on its Discord server.
A new anime series based upon Scott Pilgrim is coming to Netflix.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Netflix is working alongside UCP - the division of Universal Studio Group behind The Umbrella Academy and Chucky - to develop the brand-new adaptation with anime house Science SARU "on tap to provide the animation work".
The new law will go into place in April 2022.

All in all, 2021 was an amazing year for Microsoft when it comes to Xbox. They picked up some solid studios, finally had some banger exclusives, and made Game Pass arguably the best subscription service in gaming.
Despite how well they did, there is always room for improvement. As such, we’ve come up with a list of three things that Microsoft should be looking to cross off their New Year’s resolutions list. So without further ado, let’s get started!
This one is a bit of a no-brainer, as it shouldn’t be as hard as it is to get an Xbox Series X|S a full year after its release. Now, don’t get me wrong, I understand that the COVID pandemic has made producing these pieces of hardware much more difficult.
Converse has revealed an exciting line of products that celebrate Pokemon's 25th anniversary, including themed Chucks, shirts, hats, backpacks, and more.
There are currently 14 products available on Converse.com and, while a lot of them are already sold out because of course they are, there are a few still ready for purchase. Hopefully, there will be restocks as there are some items here that will surely help make anyone the very best, like no one ever was.
The first shoe featured is the Converse x Pokemon Poke Ball Chuck Taylor All Star and it retails for a suggested price of $70 USD. It is a white shoe that has Poke Ball ankle patches and black-and-white images of Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Meowth, and Jigglypuff all over them.
For those looking for a black shoe, the Converse x Pokemon First Partners Chuck Taylor All Star is for you. These have the same Pokemon as the other Chucks, but this time they are in full color. They also will cost $70 USD.
Alongside kids version of the previous shoes, younger trainers will also be happy to know there are adorable Pikachu and Jigglypuff shoes that cost $40 and will make many wish they had bigger sizes for them.
There is also a Pikachu hat and shirt, a sweater and hoodie, and even a Pikachu-themed backpack.
Some games, like Wordle and other indie titles, are trying to be smaller experiences that you play for a few minutes or hours and then leave. Dying Light 2 isn’t one of those games. Instead, the folks behind the game are excitedly advertising that it will take players over 500 hours to fully complete the open-world…

Aniplex released two videos featuring the opening and ending of the upcoming anime My Dress-Up Darling.
Known as “Sono Kisekae Ningyou wa Koi wo Suru” (The Dress-up Doll Falls in Love) in Japan, the anime debuted today, and can be streamed in the west on Crunchyroll.
It’s a story of romance and cosplay animated by Cloverworks and inspired by the seinen manga by Shinichi Fukuda and published by Square Enix in Young Gangan since 2018.
Below you can watch both videos. If you’re unfamiliar with the anime, you can also check out the trailer subtitled in English from Crunchyroll, released a few days ago.
Bandai Namco and Project Aces released another video in which DJ Sho Okada plays the music of several Ace Combat Games.
This time around, following volume 1 from a couple of weeks ago, we get a “volume 2” featuring the music of Ace Combat 5, Zero, 3D, and Assault Horizon. And yes, if you’re wondering “The Unsung War” is part of the video, which makes it 100% better on its own.
Considering that music has always been one of the most beloved aspects of Ace Combat games, I’m fairly sure this is a nice way to improve the weekend.
It’s certainly a good chance to reminisce on some of the best games in the series (at least a couple of them), while we wait for more information on what may be coming next.
Doomed: Demons of the Nether is a new, free mod out today for Minecraft that turns the entire blocky survival game into a surprisingly accurate-looking recreation of the 2016 Doom reboot, complete with shotguns and even a BFG.

Third-party developers had news to share about Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons coming down the line.
First of all, we hear that another payware F-22 Raptor is coming (on top of the one from Iris Simulations). This one has been announced by Top Mach Studios.
The developer is already well-known for its freeware F-22 that can be found on FlightSim.to (portrayed above), but promised a high-quality release with “many exciting and unique new features and capabilities.” We should be able to see the difference with the freeware version soon.
“A quick update for all of our F-22A Raptor fans. Top Mach Studios is hard at work on a high quality payware version of the F-22A. It will incorporate many exciting and unique new features and capabilities. It will be a massive improvement over the freeware model available here. Beta release is imminent and we will start releasing work in progress media and comments within the next one to two weeks. Stay tuned!”
We also get another look in the form of screenshots at General Enrique Mosconi International Airport (SAVC) in Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina by Simulación Extrema.
Specifically, we see the Faro San Jorge lighthouse that will be included in the scenery, on top of the IX Brigada Aérea hangar with one of its Twin Otters.
Time moves so fast now that I remain convinced Games Done Quick happens once a fortnight. True or not, it's definitely happening this week, beginning tomorrow, Sunday January 9th, and running through until Sunday January 16th. This time, the charity speedrunning marathon features several recent games including Deathloop and Death's Door, among many others.
Developers have good taste in games. That's the take away from each year's Independent Games Festival Awards, which consistently selects shortlists of excellent games. The nominations for 2022 are up, and the contenders for this year's Seumas McNally Grand Prize includes Unpacking, Inscryption, Loop Hero, Cruelty Squad, The Eternal Cylinder and Unsighted. Sounds about right.

Capcom announced that a pop-up event will be hosted in Japan to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Devil May Cry series.
The event is a little late since the anniversary was in August 2021, but it’s going to be held between January 15 and February 28 at the Prime 1 Studio Gallery Shop on the 7th floor of the Shinjuku Marui Annex department store in Tokyo.
It’ll feature the exhibition of high-quality statues by Prime 1 Studio, setting artwork and concept art created from the series, and even the costumes used for the performance capture of Devil May Cry 5.
The exhibition will be opened every day in the period mentioned above between 11:00am and 8:30pm and admission will be free.
Commemorative merchandise will also be available for sale, including keychains and clear files.
While the indie zombie survival RPG Project Zomboid has been available in early access for several years, its developers aren’t even close to done working on it, and it appears to be as popular as ever.
Recently, they have posted on Steam spelling their roadmap for development in 2022 and beyond, including the implementation of the much-anticipated non-zombified NPCs.
You can find a handy infographic below, alongside the full message from The Indie Stone.
Long ago we stated (informally on a forum post) our planned features for future builds, starting with hunting for build 42, and then numerous NPC builds for build 43 and onward.
It will be a FTP fighting game featuring characters from both Baki and Baki Hanma.

You know what's good? TFI Friday, RPS's regular roundup of indie games by Alice B. It's where I learned about another good thing: WorldBox, a god sim that entertained me (and my son) over the Christmas holidays.
To me, Mass Effect ends about six hours into Mass Effect 1, when I get bored and wander off to play something else. I've had ears and eyes long enough to know that people were upset about the ending of Mass Effect 3 however, even after BioWare tweaked it. The original Mass Effect 3 had various "Happy Ending Mods" to change the close of Commander Shepard's story, and now Mass Effect Legendary Edition does, too.
Those who are looking to purchase Dying Light 2 on February 4, 2022, and beyond will be happy (or terrified) to know that developer Techland has confirmed it will take "at least 500 hours" to fully complete the game.
Techland shared the news on Dying Light's Twitter, saying that the sequel to its 2015 first-person zombie action survival horror game is "almost as long as it would take to walk from Warsaw to Madrid." For those wondering, that walk would take around 534 hours.
This news took the internet by storm and there were those who felt that 500 hours was a bit of a daunting mission to undertake. Techland quickly put those fears to rest by saying that the enormous amount of time to reach 100% was reached by doing literally everything, and most players will be able to finish the main story and side quests in under 100 hours.
"500 hours is related to maxing out the game - finishing all the quests, endings, and exploring every part of the world, but a regular player should finish the story + side quests and do quite a lot of exploring in less than 100 hours, so don't worry," Techland wrote.
In a follow-up tweet, the developer confirmed that, "if you're not in a rush," Dying Light 2's story and side quests should take roughly 70-80 hours to complete.
A new entry in Elden Ring developer FromSoftware's Armored Core series has allegedly been revealed via a survey sent out to consumers.
ResetERA's Red Liquorice shared that they recently finished a consumer survey about "a new Armoured Core game with description, screenshots and two 30 second-ish videos of gameplay — the first a boss fight and the second more in-world gameplay, a snow area."
They were unable to share any screenshots as they are all "unique ID watermarked," but alleged screenshots have since begun circulating on social media. In the meantime, a description was provided of the rumored game.

"Melange, an unknown substance that could dramatically advance human society," the game's description reads. "In the past, the substance caused a cosmic catastrophe on planet Bashtar that engulfed the surrounding star systems, and eventually its very existence was lost. Decades later, the Melange reaction was confirmed again on planet Bashtar."
Techland has announced that it'll take around 500 hours to fully complete its survival game, Dying Light 2.
"To fully complete Dying Light 2 Stay Human, you'll need at least 500 hours - almost as long as it would take to walk from Warsaw to Madrid!" the studio stated in a tweet.

Inscryption and Unpacking lead the nominations at this year's Independent Games Festival.
Established in 1998 - that's 24 years ago and yes, thanks, that does make me feel very, very old - the Independent Games Festival was established to "encourage innovation in game development and to recognise the best independent game developers", kind of like a Sundance for indie games.
Elden Ring's character creation system has reportedly leaked online.
Having seemingly participated in a recent closed network test, YouTuber ER-SA shared the six-minute teaser, which - despite many hidden, broken, and/or missing components - gives a taste of what players can look forward to when Elden Ring releases next month.
Techland‘s open-world zombie-slaying sequel, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, is just around the corner and the Polish studio has publicly gone on record to claim something pretty impressive.
Allegedly, the apocalyptic parkour title will take players 500 hours to complete in full, which is coincidentally a similar amount of time it would take you to walk from Warsaw to Madrid. Impressive, no?
Taking to Twitter yesterday, the game’s official account relayed the intel, which you can see for yourself below.

Valve has once again hit an all-new concurrent user peak record - this time, topping 28 million users.
It's the latest in a long-line of record-breaking stats for Valve, which first saw the number of concurrent users climb at the start of the pandemic in 2020. The all-time peak now sits at 28,230,853 concurrent players.
Amazon Studios has extended New World's Winter Convergence Event by two weeks "due to the fantastic turnout" from players.
In a brief update on the MMO's official forums, community manager Luxendra explained that the seasonal event will now continue until 25th January, 2022 - two weeks more than the original 11th January end date - giving players an extra chance to complete the quests and activities available in the game's first event since launch.
Elden Ring is currently Steam's most wishlisted game on Steam.
From Software's hotly-anticipated action RPG - for which Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin has contributed to the world-building - surpassed Techland's Dying Light 2: Stay Human earlier this week to secure the top spot as Steam's most-wanted game.
