Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Filled With Duplication Glitches

2 years 5 months ago

A recently discovered glitch in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is allowing players to clone rare Pokémon at a rapid rate.

As reported by Kotaku, PanFro Games explained how the latest duplication glitch works. According to the video, you can clone entire boxes of Pokémon as well as the items they are holding with this exploit. Since a box can hold up to 30 Pokémon at a time, this is a pretty valuable glitch.

For the glitch to work, you have to have multiple PC boxes empty that would normally be filled with Pokémon. The glitch is paired with a previously discovered exploit known as the Menu Screen Glitch, which involves hitting specific buttons on a Pokémon's summary screen.

Then, upon entering the PC box you want to clone, pressing a specific sequence of buttons will allow you to clone the entire box, items and all. If you want to try this maneuver for yourself, PanFro Games walks through the entire process on YouTube. Unlike other recent exploits, there's no risk of losing any of your items during the process.

Skyrim Speedrunner Finishes Story In Just Over An Hour To Set New World Record

2 years 5 months ago

Skyrim speedrunner Nucular has beaten his own world record for running through Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, finishing the story in just one hour and 12 minutes. All the more impressive, this speedrun was completed without relying on glitches.

As reported by PCGamer, you can check out Nucular's full speedrun on YouTube. Nucular also detailed his speedrunning strategies in the comment section of his video. For example, he plays as a High Elf because they have the highest movement speed.

According to IGN's sister site How Long to Beat, it takes 33 and a half hours to complete the main story. So Nucular's new record is significantly faster.

Skyrim is celebrating its tenth anniversary this month, and speedrunning has been a part of the game's community since the very beginning. Before its launch in November 2011, Bethesda employees held an internal competition to see who could finish the game the fastest. The winner completed the game in 2 hours, 16 minutes, and 10 seconds. So, after 10 years, Nucular was able to cut that original time almost in half with his new world record.

Get PS5 DualSense controllers from Base at their lowest price on Cyber Monday

2 years 5 months ago

Managed to get hold of a PlayStation 5 over Black Friday week? Congrats! You might however also be looking for an extra DualSense controller since the old PS4 DualShock controllers aren't compatible with PS5 games (although you can still use them to play backward-compatible PS4 games). Fortunately, you can get these new wireless controllers for a little less this Cyber Monday and Base has them priced the cheapest.

While retaining the classic PlayStation controller layout since the original DualShock controller, the bulkier DualSense also comes packed with all-new next-gen features, notably its much more immersive haptic feedback that really makes you feel the subtle differences between elements such as a car engine, different kinds of guns or the subtle patter of rain. Its adaptive triggers can also change the pressure of how you squeeze them, and in the case of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, can even be used to provide primary and secondary fire on the same trigger based on how tight you pull back. And let's not forget the built-in mic and speaker so you can use voice chat even without a headset.

New World Is Being Overrun By Fishing Bots

2 years 5 months ago

Bots are becoming an increasingly large problem in Amazon's New World MMO, and this time they're coming for your fish, PC Gamer reports.

Bots are a problem when any MMO launches, to be sure, but players on the New World subreddit are reporting what appears to be an increase in bots reaching higher levels, suggesting issues with bot reporting and the issuing of bans.

"Over the last week I have seen a huge influx of bots on my server again," writes Reddit user JustDaveInTheLBC. "But they're all higher level now, 20's & 30's. They're out harvesting and mining in full effect. Are other servers seeing this again? I've reported the same bot three times in three days. It's starting to get really annoying competing for materials with bots."

YouTuber Gladd has even made a game out of spotting bots in the wild, analyzing their behavior and movement in-game. Gladd points out characters casting fishing poles into currently empty lakes and beelining between empty ore deposits. At one point, he runs into what appears to be a bot doing the same beelining motion, and then seconds later runs into another character exhibiting the same bot-like behavior. Literally seconds after that, he encounters a third identical character.

Other players are expressing anger with Amazon for seemingly allowing bots to do as they please despite players submitting multiple reports.

Call Of Duty Fans Reveal Why They Aren't Buying Vanguard

2 years 5 months ago

Activision Blizzard is currently facing serious ongoing allegations of harassment and mistreatment of marginalized workers. To learn more, please visit our timeline as well as our in-depth report on the subject.

This year's regularly scheduled Call of Duty entry — Call of Duty: Vanguard — doesn't appear to be doing as hot as previous Call of Duty games in terms of sales. One big reason why may be that everyone's just too busy playing other games.

GamesIndustry.biz, in collaboration with PAX and EGX, conducted a survey of 671 gaming convention attendees in recent months about their Call of Duty purchasing habits. Of those, 284 individuals said they had purchased a Call of Duty game in the last five years — but only 59 (21%) of that group said they had bought Vanguard.

Of the remaining group that had recently purchased a Call of Duty game but did not buy Vanguard, more than half of respondents (55%) said that they were too busy playing other games already.

Dungeon & Fighter Fighting Game DNF Duel by Arc System Works Shows Inquisitor in New Trailer

2 years 5 months ago

Today Nexon released a brand new trailer of the upcoming fighting game DNF Duel, inspired by the Dungeon Fighter franchise (also known as Dungeon & Fighter in Korea).

The trailer focuses on one of the available characters, the Inquisitor, showing off her rather flashy gameplay in action.

As usual, it may feel rather familiar to fans of Arc System Works’ games. This shouldn’t be a surprise for anyone since Nexon hired the popular Japanese fighting game developer to create the game. The previous trailer featuring the Berserker gives the same feeling.

You can check it out and see for yourself below.

Dungeon Fighter Online is quite popular worldwide (admittedly a lot more in Asia than in the west) and the game has social media accounts in English, so we might certainly expect a western release.

Dungeon Fighter Online is one of the most played games in the world if you look at actual revenue, so it was pretty much a matter of time for it to expand to other genres and markets.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong Gets Pushed Back to May 2022

2 years 5 months ago

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is a new narrative-driven RPG from developing studio Big Bad Wolf and publisher Nacon. It had been delayed before, but it looks like fans will need to wait a little longer before the game is officially released.

Announced on the official Twitter account, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong has been pushed back to May 2022.

The game was originally supposed to be released in February, but the team has since made the decision to delay the game so that they have more time to polish it up while still maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Considering how prevalent crunch culture has been in the video games industry, this definitely seems like the best decision for all parties involved.

The game is set to be released for consoles and PC on May 19, 2022.

Yet Another Dupe Glitch Has Surfaced in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

2 years 5 months ago

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have just been released for the Nintendo Switch, and as players have quickly discovered, it’s absolutely full of glitches and exploits. Pokemon duplication glitches have been rampant, and yet another one has been discovered, making it easier for players to dupe rare Pokemon that they want.

YouTuber PanFro Games goes over the steps in the video below:

Basically, you’ll need two Pokemon boxes: one full of the Pokemon you want to dupe, and the other one left empty. You’ll then need to trigger a menu overlay glitch by checking the summary of one of the Pokemon in your party, and then going back to the Pokemon boxes to start the duplication process.

While there are a lot of steps you need to follow in this method, it’s also faster than some of the previous dupe glitches we’ve seen. Like with all Nintendo games, if you’re planning on duping Pokemon, you’ll probably want to jump on this one quickly as it’ll likely get patched out soon.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are now available on the Switch.

How To Disable Cross-Play In Halo Infinite

2 years 5 months ago

The multiplayer beta release for Halo Infinite has been a remarkably smooth one, especially when you consider that the game came with full cross-play integration right out of the gate. That's right: While the game was released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, there's no barrier between those sets of players--and you can freely team up with your friends no matter what platform they're on.

Cross-play of this type can be great for expanding the population of multiplayer games, since players are no longer siloed based on what platform they're using and can instead all play together. But it can have its drawbacks, too. It's a truism of competitive shooters that players using mouse and keyboard tend to have an advantage over those using controllers, for instance. A mouse allows for much quicker, more precise aiming in a lot of cases, and controller analog sticks just can't compare to the ease of pointing and clicking. On the other hand, controller players usually benefit from aim assist to help deal with the imprecision of a controller, and it's not tough to argue that some of Halo Infinite's gameplay feel is derived from its history as a console shooter. Either way, some players are annoyed with cross-play in Halo Infinite, feeling that they might be at a disadvantage depending on their platform.

The bad news is that, unlike most competitive multiplayer games, such as Battlefield 2042 or Call of Duty: Vanguard, there's no easy way to toggle off cross-play in Halo Infinite--at least, not right now. But if you'd prefer to play with only other people of your same input type, there is one section of Halo Infinite multiplayer that'll allow you to do so: ranked play. Here's how to get into the Ranked Arena playlist and how to face off against players using your preferred brand of input.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Leak Says Seagulls Are Coming To The New Island

2 years 5 months ago

Fortnite Chapter 3 is presumably just days away, and while we prepare to unpack a full slate of new mechanics, loot, locations, and more, at least one new addition to the game may have already leaked: seagulls. The beachy birds were mentioned by Fortnite's most famous leaker, who tends not to open up unless he's sure of something. With that in mind, it feels safe to say seagulls will be joining the likes of wolves, chickens, boar, and more in Fortnite Chapter 3.

Hypex, the leaker of note, revealed the information by referencing concept art he has seen and mentioned that they may be found, perhaps most easily, around the game's new beach biome in Chapter 3. Interestingly, Fortnite Chapter 2 already has seagulls--technically. You can see them fly around the island from time to time, and they're even seen in the Fortnite Chapter 2 promo art from 2019 when the new chapter first dawned on us.

The difference, however, is that these new gulls will likely be interactable, much like the ravens that were added this season, and will add to the game's collection of wildlife that has been growing since it was first introduced in Chapter 2, Season 3 with sharks, and was later greatly expanded upon in the game's hunting-focused season, Chapter 2, Season 6.

Halo Infinite's Challenge System Undermines What Makes The Game Fun

2 years 5 months ago

I was really enjoying Halo Infinite until I was faced with completing an ultimate challenge.

Halo Infinite's free cosmetic rewards can be earned in two ways. The first is progression along its battle pass, the usual free-or-paid tracks dishing out rewards as you "level up" by gaining experience points from doing in-game stuff--specifically, completing special challenges with requirements like "finish four ranked matches" or "destroy an enemy Wasp three times." The second is by clearing all available challenges in a week to earn the weekly Ultimate reward, a cosmetic item you seemingly can't get any other way.

That second one seems like a fun idea, at least at first. Once you complete all the other weekly challenges, you're faced with one final capstone challenge to unlock your weekly Ultimate. This is a tougher challenge, with a bigger reward of experience points, to really test you.

The trouble is, the challenge system is a pain in general, and the Ultimate challenge is particularly bad. Instead of creating an exciting trial to defeat and earn a cool reward, it added a big time-crunch of frustration to Halo Infinite. And ultimately, it's a good example of why 343 Industries needs to overhaul its whole challenge system.

The ultimate challenge was to rack up five killstreaks in Fiesta matches during the Fracture: Tenrai event. Fiesta is a cool mode, which puts you into Slayer games with randomized weapons and equipment. Every time you respawn from a death, you come back with a new batch of gear. Sometimes you luck out and start with a rocket launcher and a sniper rifle, or a Gravity Hammer and Skewer. Other times, you're sporting a Plasma Pistol and a Needler. The mode is predicated on the luck of the draw, with opportunities to snag weapons from fallen players or re-roll your gear when you die.

Call Of Duty: Warzone Last Hours Of Verdansk Event Starts Tuesday

2 years 5 months ago

Call of Duty: Vanguard will get Warzone integration with the new Caldera map on December 8, but players will get one final event to say goodbye to the Verdansk map. In addition to the ongoing Operation: Flashback limited-time mode and the Secrets of the Pacific event, the Last Hours of Verdansk begins on November 30. The launch of this event will likely follow Call of Duty's normal update schedule with a 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET start time.

There are few details about this Warzone grand finale, so it's uncertain if this will be a limited-time mode or just a cinematic cutscene to close out players' time in Verdansk. In a Call of Duty blog, the Last Hours of Verdansk is vaguely described as allowing players to "see what happens to Verdansk before Warzone goes dark to prepare for Caldera." Activision also says to "expect a spectacular and fitting end to your time in Verdansk as we say farewell to the Kastovian city... forever?"

Don't Expect Half-Life 3 Anytime Soon (If Ever), New Report Suggests

2 years 5 months ago

Half-Life 3 is rumored to not be on the way anytime soon, YouTuber Tyler McVicker revealed in a video covering what projects are reputed to be in development at Valve. According to the Valve sources McVicker talked to, "There is not a major development team working on anything outside of the few pieces of software specifically tailored for hardware."

The reason reportedly is because Valve's Steam Deck--launching early 2022--has become the current focus for the company. "Right now, Valve is trying to get the Steam Deck out... Valve is throwing a lot at it," McVicker said. "Half-Life 3, any kind of traditional mouse and keyboard first-person shooter at Valve, is not taking place. If it is, it's a very small group of people."

McVicker also commented on Citadel, another in-progress project at Valve. "[Citadel] is a Half-Life-based, FPS/RTS hybrid, that is cooperatively based. Think about Left 4 Dead, Alien Swarm, and an RTS, and Half-life all having a baby," stated McVicker. "It's being created with the Steam Deck in mind due to how the game is supposed to be controlled. Originally there was supposed to be a VR asymmetrical cooperative component, however due to Valve's lackluster view on VR in the current day, it's very possible that it's set aside."

McVicker went on to state that Citadel is actively getting worked on at Valve. "Citadel is very much in development," he commented.

Sea of Thieves Season 5: Start Date And Details

2 years 5 months ago

Sea of Thieves is setting sail for Season 5 this week, and Rare's pirate sandbox is getting a bundle of new toys. The game's "tools, not rules" North Star remains strong as Sea of Thieves approaches the end of its fourth year in the open waters of Game Pass and the Xbox ecosystem, as well as Steam. In Sea of Thieves Season 5, major quality-of-life updates and some much-requested features are making their way to the game, alongside a new Plunder Pass, a new type of mission, and a focus on deepening the pirate role-playing experience. Here's everything to know about Sea of Thieves Season 5.

When does Sea of Thieves Season 5 start?

Sea of Thieves Season 5 kicks off on December 2, with the update being available to download that morning. As this is a live update, there's no preloading of Season 5, though you could ensure your system is set to automatically update the game when the patch becomes available on that Thursday morning. As always, the update will be free for all players, and the game's more-generous-than-most free path of its Season 5 Plunder Pass will offer 100 rewards split across currencies and cosmetics. The paid path, which you can access for $10, will allow you to unlock an additional 14 cosmetic rewards, including the new and exclusive Creeping Cold skin.

There's no end date mentioned for Sea of Thieves Season 5, but if it follows the trajectory of past seasons, you can expect to chase Season 5's exclusive rewards for roughly the next three to four months or so, which would lead us right up to the game's fourth anniversary in March of 2022.

2 years 5 months ago

After years of development and a lengthy delay, Halo Infinite finally releases on December 8. Ahead of that, physical copies of the game have begun to emerge in the wild. As such, now is a good time to be extra careful navigating the internet to avoid spoilers.

This is pretty standard for big game releases, as discs need to be shipped to stores ahead of launch. Naturally, some will find their way into the wild ahead of time.

Cutscenes from Halo Infinite's campaign have already begun leaking, and with discs now emerging in the wild, this may only accelerate in the time to come. Very little is known about Halo Infinite's story, so here's to hoping spoilers don't spread too widely.
