Veteran developer Toshihiro Nagoshi, of Sega Rally, Monkey Ball and Yakuza fame, is in the final stages of negotiating a contract to leave Sega and join Chinese company NetEase, according to a report on Bloomberg.
You can always beat the wolves, right? They're usually the next rung up from rats; even at their very hardest, they're maybe the fourth distinct creature thing a trainee adventurer has to slash into giblets on their way to bigger and better things. These grey, hairy training wheels might do a bit of snarling, a few mild biteroonies, but they won't ever kill you. That's not what wolves do.
Wartales, the next game from Northgard devs Shiro Games (which lands in early access soonish), didn't get the memo. Just twenty minutes into this sombre, map-wandering mercenary adventure, I ran into a crew of the old growly-howlies, and got killed to pieces. My second run, at least, left me with one survivor. But they were soon ruined financially by the burden of treating their wounds and repairing their mangled armour, and eventually met their end in a muddy ditch, at the end of a bandit's longsword. This game, folks, is not messing about.
Just when we thought video games were properly back, we got another wave of delays last month. It’s totally understandable: unprecedented times and so on and etc.. However, for you dear reader, that did mean our top games of August post was gutted almost as soon as it was published.
There are a lot of great-looking games out this September… at time of writing. So, can everyone stay as still as possible, please? It’d be an awful shame if Kena got pushed again. I’d really like to play that one. I’d really like to play a lot of these, to be fair.
Much of the appeal of making Gundam models is getting the box full of plastic frames of parts, cutting those parts out, and then piecing together a badass mecha.
But when you’re finished, there’s still a box full of discarded plastic frames! FNN reports that as of last year, when the franchise crossed its 40th…
There's nothing that quite defines fantasy vacations so much as the idea of a cross-country road trip with friends. One can picture it now: a beaten-up Volkswagen van, a few close friends, and nothing but conversation to pass your time cruising through the open road with the wind in your hair. According to research posted on the US-based National Centre for Biotechnology Information, out of the 91.2 percent of surveyed members had a bucket list, and a whopping 78.5 percent of them had a desire to travel in some form.
This should come as little surprise. Many consider traveling across the globe a luxury for those with the money and the time to do so, but it turns out that a rich lifestyle isn't the only way to experience the joys of a road trip with companions at your side. I've been traveling Europe with the aid of Euro Truck Simulator 2 and a multiplayer mod called TruckersMP. It's worth mentioning that both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator have now had multiplayer support added since July, which makes it a lot easier for everyone to get an online game, but the official Convoy multiplayer is an eight person affair. TruckersMP, while getting on a bit, is on a different scale.
Initially released on the 1st of May 2014, TruckersMP is a massively multiplayer mod for Euro Truck 2 that allows players to join one of several servers and travel Europe with thousands of other truckers. The mod makes a multitude of changes to allow for a streamlined multiplayer experience, including removing NPC drivers and putting speed-caps on certain servers. It also adds radio channels for voice chat and even its own radio station which the community runs.
When video game consoles from Sony and Nintendo launch in Japan, you can count on two things: long lines and lottery systems. You probably wouldn’t expect that for Covid-19 vaccinations.
In Japan, people typically wait in line for tickets when hardware is sort supply. Even now, as Famitsu reports, this lottery system…
Spanish developer Wildsphere has just released their PS5 exclusive action-adventure game, Timothy’s Night, and to commemorate the occasion, the company dropped a launch trailer to whet everybody’s appetite. Go ahead and check out the recent video down below:
As you can see, the footage of Timothy’s Night looks, well, pretty damn wacky, right? From gelatinous aliens that want to bite your head off to gangsters rocking tommy-guns, it’s safe to say that Wildsphere’s bizarre open-world action-platformer is filled to the brim with crazy ideas. Plus, it also boasts a pretty snazzy jazz soundtrack, which is always nice.
If the game managed to fly under your radar undetected, don’t worry, you’re not the only one. To be honest, we’ve only just heard about it, too.
Interestingly, Timothy’s Night is officially a follow-up to 2018’s Timothy Vs The Aliens, which wasn’t particularly very well-received by critics. Hopefully, this latest sequel will bode better with critics and audiences alike.
For more information, here’s a rundown from the game’s official press release that we received today:
Pokémon Go creators Niantic recently proved slow in addressing widespread fears about the game forcing players into close proximity with other humans amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, in a ripple from that, the game’s Reddit sub, r/pokemongo, has switched itself to ‘private’, in response to what they see as Reddit’s…
One of the kickers with any real-time strategy game, but especially one with as many different civilizations as Age of Empires 4, is what I like to call the Dota problem.
Take a look around you, wherever you may be, and look for the closest person. Maybe they’re in a window in a house next door; maybe they’re walking down the street looking at their phone. What lives have these people led? What stories are hidden within?
If the daily trailers weren’t enough for you, today Atlus released a sizable gallery of screenshots of its upcoming JRPG Shin Megami Tensei V.
We take another look at Shohei Yakumo, Joka (her name is changed to “Nuwa” in English), and Abdiel, on top of a few more demons and Sophia.
On top of that, we also get to see more about negotiation with demons and combinations.
We then learn about the “Essences,” a feature that lets you find spirits containing a copy of a demon’s abilities and elemental affinity. You can use them to change the abilities or elemental affinity of the hero or a demon ally.
While exploring Da’at you can also obtain “Glory,” which is a stat that represents the majesty of the gods. You can spend it to acquire Miracles that can alter the order of the world. There are many different kinds and they may give you an advantage in exploration, battle, demon negotiation, combination, skill learning, or progression.
Ubisoft is having a mini collaboration with the popular Netflix series, Money Heist, in the form of a new online co-op mission that’s available now for all Watch Dogs Legion players. You can check out the launch trailer for yourself down below.
Titled Paperless, the mission allows players to team up with three other players to take part in a crypto heist at the Bank of England.
“Playable with up to three other friends, the mission, titled Paperless, lets players don the series’ signature masks and red jumpsuits to execute a crypto heist at the Bank of England. Don’t worry, you’re stealing from the bad guys; Clan Kelley forces have taken over the bank and are storing millions of counterfeit ETO on the network. Sneak into the bank, disable the firewall, download the crypto, and make your escape across the Thames. Once completed, an exclusive skin for recruits will be unlocked.”
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings isn’t even out yet but a lot of users, who likely haven’t seen it, are giving it negative scores. Currently, the film sits at a “60% liked this movie” rating on Google, despite boasting a 91% certified fresh score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this type of review bombing occur with a Marvel movie. Before each of their respective releases, both Captain Marvel and Black Panther were also given negative user scores. While Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings doesn’t have any written reviews yet, the previous two instances of review bombing for the films mentioned above featured phrases like “SJW,” “feminist agenda,” and “politically correct.”
Thanks to Inverse, we’ve included a metric that details the extent of Captain Marvel’s review bombing issue to help give those who are unaware of the practice a bit more perspective, as a whopping 26% of IMDB reviewers gave the film a 1/10.
Keiichi is voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, the voice of Yusuke Kitagawa in Persona 5, Reiji Shiba in Sakura Wars, Chrom in Fire Emblem, and many more roles.
With the Death Stranding: Director's Cut on the way, it looks like Hideo Kojima is far from done with the breakout universe for his Kojima Productions studio. In a recent interview, Norman Reedus, who played Sam Porter Bridges in the game, stated that a sequel is currently "in negotiations."
In a recent interview with Adoro Cinema(courtesy of Twitter user @Nibel), the actor confirmed a sequel is the current plan in the most casual way possible. When asked which character he thought could win a marathon, his character from The Walking Dead or from Death Stranding, he was quick to side with Sam Porter Bridges because of his motorcycle and the exoskeleton. Which, fair. What's interesting, however, is that he added, "I think we're doing a second Death Stranding. The game is in negotiations right now. So... yay!"

Also included with the new set reveal is an interview with director Johannes Roberts where he reaffirmed that the movie reboot is based on the first two Resident Evil games and how Raccoon City became a central point for chaos being unleashed into the world with the T-Virus. He also mentioned how this movie will be a completely different experience than the films that starred Milla Jovovich, saying:
To the surprise of many, Epic Games added a new mode to Fortnite last week celebrating the legacy of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom and the man who led it, Martin Luther King, Jr. But Bernice King, the civil rights icon’s daughter, has since distanced herself from the event. It all points back to…
Development studio Naughty Dog has a reputation for producing top-flight games. It also has a reputation for working its employees to the bone. Naughty Dog co-presidents Evan Wells and Neil Druckmann recently sat down for a wide-ranging interview with Game Informer in which both addressed concerns of endemic overwork…
Video game horror looks different depending on where it is you happen to be looking. There were a few years there where action and survival horror games like Dead Space, a handful of Resident Evils, the Metro games, and Alien: Isolation dominated the conversation. It’s scary when a bunch of things want to kill you,…
Bored while waiting for No Man’s Sky’s massive 17th free expansion to come out, modder and video makerWinder Sun has vowed to mod Hello Games’ boss Sean Murray’s likeness into the game in increasingly creative and creepy ways until the Frontiers update goes live.
Oh dear, it appears that someone's ripped a whole chunk of days out of my calendar. Today may be August 30th, but tomorrow appears to be October 31st in my book. How spooky. If Halloween haunts your heart earlier every year as it does mine, how about more PS1-style spooks? Security Booth is a bit like Papers Please in that you're in charge of sorting out who's allowed through your gate. Here though, you're guarding a questionable corporation campus and things get a bit cursed quite quickly.
For live service games, there is always going to be changes implemented to the game that feel like they’re taking away from what made the original special, especially when it comes to shooters like Rainbow Six Siege. New maps, events, and Operators mean that the meta has to be adjusted so that the gameplay is level and even.
Alongside this, there needs to be a fresh new coat of paint added to things to help the events, maps, and characters bring new life to the game. Yet, while you can adjust to and accept those changes over time, there is nothing wrong with feeling nostalgic for the glory days of Rainbow Six Siege; back when there were fewer tech-based characters and maps were simpler.
That is exactly why one Rainbow Six Siege veteran decided to go back through and show just how much has changed in the game. In the post below, user LEONWOLF displays just how much the visuals and map designs differ through transitioning between new and old versions of each.
When 343 Industries dropped Halo Infinite's first Flight Test for the game's multiplayer, the reception was overwhelmingly positive. Then, during Gamescom, we got another new look at Halo Infinite, though still no campaign gameplay. The decision not to reveal more of the campaign has resulted in worry from the community about the state of the game, considering its original delay. However, the studio is now providing insight into why we haven't seen anything concrete yet regarding Master Chief's story.
Hideo Kojima wants people to stop ragging on photo modes in games, and you know what? He’s right. On Twitter over the weekend, the Metal Gear and Death Stranding director had some encouraging words for those using in-game photography and how they can potentially improve the skills of aspiring shutterbugs.
“There are still some people who make fun of the fact that you are taking virtual pictures in the game. If you keep taking pictures, even in-game, your sensitivity and skills will naturally improve. Composition, layout, focus, etc,” Kojima says in his first of two Tweets on the subject. In games, you have complete control over your scenery, lighting, and character poses, giving the freedom to play around and experiment with capturing your subjects in ways that you may only have seconds to do in real life.
Developing that eye for composition takes time but using tools like photo modes could certainly speed up the process for the real thing. Kojima’s mini-thread concludes with that same sentiment, saying, “Most importantly, you will know what you want to photograph. After that, the in-game experience will surely come in handy when you shoot with a real camera or smartphone.”

Sideshow Collectibles is a company that sets the bar high when it comes to high-end commemorations of our favorite franchises. From comics to games, Sideshow knows how to craft the perfect fan tribute and now it is adding even more statues to the D&D experienceCritical Role's memorabilia lineup.
In addition to the Fjord and Beau statues that were revealed last year, the high-end collectibles company is now adding Vax and Vex to the fray. While neither are quite available to arrive in homes everywhere, the pair is at least pre-orderable for those interested:
