Animal Crossing New Horizons lets you tilt the camera to how it looked on GameCube
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is still several weeks away, but PAX East attendees are already uncovering new items and features thanks to a special demo at the show.
As rounded up by USGamer, fresh details spotted on the showfloor include the ability to tilt the game's camera so it offers a top-down view similar to the original Animal Crossing on GameCube. Be still my heart.
Toggling this option, spotted in the 20-minute GameXplain video below, is as simple as clicking in the right analogue stick. Skip to the 6:10 mark to hear the booth's staff member explain it:

The Foxer
Roman thinks you’re ready for Rithmetic Foxers. Below are three equations disguised as picture sequences. Each pic represents a number (For example a photo of The Flying Scotsman might signify 4472, 462, or 3). It’s your job to identify the mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication or division) indicated by the lettered squares. The BIDMAS rule applies. No brackets or indices are involved. (more…)
The Flare Path: Broken Lines
If your hometown is full of Pilsner-swilling Schützen at the moment, if you can’t pass a pub without hearing strains of ‘Lili Marlene’, or walk down a tram aisle without tripping over a Karabiner 98k butt, blame the makers of Broken Lines. Realising that the Wehrmacht was desperately in need of some time off, thoughtful Danish developer PortaPlay has left them out of the £20 “WW2” tactical RPG that has been effortlessly monopolising my monitor for the past few days. This weekend's ESL Pro Tour event has no arena audience after health authorities revoked the license

The matches are still going ahead, just with no spectators. ESL say they will refund IEM tickets but can’t refund travel and accommodation costs.

The list of developers and tech companies dropping out of GDC is growing, as Microsoft, Epic Games and Unity confirm they’re pulling out due to health risks presented by coronavirus (COVID-19). This is a big blow for the physical conference, but both Microsoft and Unity have mentioned sharing their GDC presentations digitally, so we’ll still have a chance to see the behind-the-scenes info they had prepared.

EMEAA January Report: Nintendo Switch accounts for 52% of all console sales
Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition on Switch: a decent port of a truly classic game
15 years after its initial release on PlayStation 2, Devil May Cry 3 is still among the best action games of its kind - but getting a decent remaster for modern systems has proven elusive, with the game receiving a procession of barebones conversions over the years. The good news is that with the game's recent arrival on Nintendo Switch, we do get an excellent rendition of this classic brawler, but the bad news is that it's still some way off delivering what you might call a perfect port.
There is a sticking point in terms of its value on the eShop. PS4, PC and Xbox One received an HD Collection back in 2018 that provided the trilogy in one purchase, while Switch users (outside of Japan at least) need to buy each conversion individually, amounting to a higher price tag overall. However, with DMC3 there is at least extra work put into the port, where you get Switch-exclusive features. There's limited two-player support via a co-op mode that has Dante and Vergil surviving waves of enemies in the Bloody Palace. Here, you can use the JoyCons held sideways if needs be, plus it even lets each player use weapon loadouts from the solo adventure. It's a neat arcade-style extra - one that but still, the main adventure is the big attraction.
Switch users also get a significant addition to the main single-player game. There's a new Freestyle mode, letting you change Dante's play style on the fly, available right from the start of the game - as opposed to choosing between Trickster, Royal Guard, Swordmaster and Gunslinger types between each level. With a burst of colour, the role of the B button changes, opening up options for even more lavish mid-air juggles.
TFT Set 3 champions: all the new origins and classes
Much like the previous season change, Teamfight Tactics Set 3 changes the entire roster of champions in the game. This time every champion is themed around the space theme, with some champions taking inspiration from established concepts from within the League of Legends universe. So expect to see cybernetic variants of Fiora, or the “Star Guardians” that have an uncanny resemblance to the Sailor Moon team.
Wolcen builds: best abilities to equip
So you’ve played a little bit of Wolcen, now that it’s properly fixed, and are now staring into the abyss that is the skill tree. Where do you even start? Luckily, there are some builds out there for new players looking for a bit of direction that cater to all types. From bloodthirsty warriors that spin axes repeatedly, to mages that want to see things explode. We’ve got a collection of the best builds right here for you to use, including one that we’ve found to be very handy indeed that we made.
Wot I Think: Taur
Let’s get the important stuff out of the way first. Taur has nothing to do with bulls. I don’t know how many of you may have thought that, but I figured I’d clear it up anyway. It does have a lot to do with towers, which is how I assume the title is supposed to be pronounced. I quite admire the brass of it. It’s like calling your strategy game “Bayse” or your FPS “Guhn.”
Taur attempts to refine your typical tower defence scenario, borrowing ideas from strategy games like Total Annihilation and XCOM and reducing it down so individual matches last minutes rather than hours. It’s a spectacular and surprisingly clever little game, although sadly its best ideas are also the least successful.
The exploration game InnerSpace is free on the Epic Games Store
InnerSpace, an aerial exploration game about flying through "inside-out" planets, has gone free on the Epic Games Store. If you add the PC title to your account by March 5 at 8:00 a.m. Pacific, it's permanent.
"InnerSpace is not like other flying games," according to Polyknight Games. "We want to reward exploration, both in terms of storytelling and the mechanics of flight. If you're expecting a traditional flight sim with aerial combat, this might not be for you. If you like the idea of a plane that transforms into a submarine, then dives inside the belly of an ancient demigod, you're in the right place."
The Epic Games Store typically gives out games I've heard of before, but I'm not sure I've ever crossed paths with InnerSpace. It's a looker! That said, some players say the controls can be a struggle.
Maybe it's your jam, maybe it isn't. Either way, I'd definitely check back next Thursday, March 5, for free copies of GoNNER (if you dig roguelike platformers) and Offworld Trading Company (if you're okay with throwing a whole Saturday away in pursuit of a hard-earned economic victory). Play 'em both.

Sakura Wars for PS4 Gets Story Trailer & Screenshots Showing Uniquely Japanese World & Characters
Today Sega released a new English trailer and a batch of screenshots of Sakura Wars, known in Japan as Shin Sakura Taisen and previously code-named Project Sakura Wars.
The trailer focuses on the world of the game and on the characters that we’ll meet, also showcasing a glimpse at localized gameplay.
The same can be said about the screenshots, that you can enjoy just below the video, showing all the playable characters and a hint at the localization.
Here’s what Sega itself says about it.
“From the large clock tower atop Ginza train station, dominating the city skyline, to the captivating Imperial Theater standing tall at the heart of Tokyo, Sakura Wars exudes a world rich in historical inspiration and enriched with fantastical steampunk technology.
The Taisho era represents a time of prosperity and optimism for Japan, an intersection of eastern and western cultures that creates a vibrant framework in which to take on the mantle of Seijuro Kamiyama and bring the Imperial Combat Revue back to glory!
Sakura Wars is a reboot that retains many of the features that made the genre-defining series such a hit in Japan, including a poetic vision, a strong cast, and a compelling story filled with intrigue, action, and romance. Our latest trailer puts this portrayal of 1940s Tokyo front and center as it introduces your mission to restore your squad and the theater to prestige.”
Third Borderlands 3 Expansion Will Have Outlaws On Dinosaurs
Borderlands 3 continues to get bigger, and alongside the reveal trailer for its second campaign add-on Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock, Gearbox Software has also shared a teaser image for a third DLC expansion. This one will take things in two very different directions, featuring revolver-toting outlaws as well as dinosaurs.
Announced as part of its PAX East news, the third campaign add-on hasn't been fully detailed yet, but it will arrive this summer. It's included with the Borderlands 3 Season Pass, and as the image shows outlaws riding on dinosaurs, it should be every bit as goofy and over-the-top as Borderlands fans expect.
Baldur's Gate 3 Romance Options Won't Be As Straightforward As You Might Expect
Baldur's Gate 3 might only be in early access later this year, but developer Larian Studios already has big plans for how it will redefine role-playing game relationships with your companions.
Specifically, when it comes to romance options with your companions. Speaking to VG24/7, senior writer Adam Smith mentioned how so many RPGs treat romance as a reward for saying the right things or giving the right gifts to characters. In Baldur's Gate 3, Smith wants to create more complex relationships that have a lasting emotional impact.
"We want to have jealousy," Smith explained. "We want to have just great joy in it, as well. But yes, we don't want it to be a case of, 'you brought me the gift that I like the most, so you got +50 affection.' It's much more based on how you deal with them, and the things you do. So, when I say, 'everyone's romanceable by everybody else,' that’s not in every playthrough".
Continue Reading at GameSpotMetro 2033 And Last Light Switch Ports Are Stunning, Both Out Now
The Nintendo Switch has been home to many ports of gaming's recent past, even games that you may have never believed would have been playable in handheld form like The Witcher 3, Doom (2016), Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Now, we have both of the Redux versions of Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light, two tremendous single-player FPSs out now Switch. And having put some time into both, I'm coming away wildly impressed--these are Switch ports done right.
You kind of know what you're getting into when it comes to Switch versions of bigger games; lower resolutions, lower framerates, muddier textures, and toned-down effects. Those factors don't necessarily diminish the quality of the game itself though, so long as it's done within reason and the game remains playable. However, these Metro ports exceed what we've come to expect for Switch--they look sharp and run extremely well, all things considered. You can see for yourself in our gameplay footage below.
Naturally, the compromises are noticeable when playing in docked mode on a full size display, but Metro Redux is truly stunning in handheld mode. It's not just that the condensed screen mitigates the perceivable blemishes of lower graphical fidelity, it's that the graphical compromises are somewhat minimal as not to muddle or obscure overall visual clarity. Even lighting effects and character models, which are imperative to the Metro experience, still shine through.
Rockstar Games Website Could Be Teasing New Game
Let the conspiracy theories commence! Rockstar Games has updated its website with new artwork, and it could be the sign of a new project. That is, of course, unless it is a clever joke from the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption developer.
On the official Rockstar Games website, hitting the tab in the corner will give you dropdown menu with sections on games, news, videos, and more. The background images that appear behind this information are new, however, and one of them is possibly hinting at a new game. The word "bullying" can be seen among several lines of text about "fighting the righteous" and "killing dreams."

Amazon Just Launched An Awesome Sale On Switch, PS4, And Xbox One Games
Amazon matches rival competitors' sales so frequently that it would almost be a surprise at this point if it didn't do it. Once again, a day after Target launched its Save 25% Sale, Amazon has kicked off its own very similar sale, offering awesome discounts on a bunch of popular Switch, PS4, and Xbox One games. Target's sale is for in-store pickup orders only, so Amazon's sale is better when it comes to convenience. Stock will also probably sell out pretty quickly for the best deals, so you'll want to get your orders in as soon as possible.
For this sale, you have to check the coupon box to get the additional savings (25%). You'll see the final price at checkout. Though Amazon doesn't list end dates on its sales, it will probably run until Target's promotion ends on March 1. Amazon's sale doesn't feature every game offered in Target's sale, but it still boasts a ton of great deals.
Nintendo Switch users can pick up a pair of excellent RPGs for even more excellent prices. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive drops to $37.49, which is an incredible price for a game that previously never went for under $50. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is just $22.49 (was $50).

Stardew Valley cheats and console commands (v1.4)
Stardew Valley may be a wonderful game, but there’s no denying it imposes excessive limits upon the player. Every item has prerequisites, and the productivity of each day is dictated by your energy and the inevitable march of time. But our Stardew Valley cheats guide will walk you through how to break down all these limitations, from pausing time to spawning items, from insta-completing quests to giving yourself unlimited money – and much, much more.
Wot I Think: Conglomerate 451
My latest big brain critic realisation is that dystopian sci-fi settings are a clever way to make basic (and possibly tedious) elements of interacting with your game, suddenly thematic. “Hmmm, I’ve been clicking on this menu for a while,” You think. “This isn’t very interesting.” And then the screen goes all crackly or whatever, and a disembodied voice materialises and says: “The year is 2483, and all humans do is click on menus. Corporations did this.”
And that’s you, sucked into a charybdis-level whirlpool of immersion. Eyes glued to the screen as you watch a text crawl tell the terrifying story of corporate goons going around with big buckets of glue and sticking everyone’s eyes to screens….forever. Cyberpunk, eh? Cyberpunk indeed, says Conglomerate 451. It sits somewhere between the Ultima Underworld homage of Legend of Grimrock, the debuff-firing turn based combat of Darkest Dungeon, and the base and squad management of Alien Defence Squad Trouser And Hairdo Customisation Adventure 2012, which I believe you proles call XCOM.
