If you were wondering just how popular PUBG is on mobile, the answer is: very, as 17 million people have now signed up for upcoming mobile title PUBG: New State.
PUBG: New State was announced back in February and described as the "only mobile successor to the original PC version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds". It's a futuristic version of PUBG set after the events of the original game, in the year 2051. It's supposed to have "ultra-realistic graphics" that will surpass "what was previously possible in mobile gaming graphics", along with some new game mechanics like dodging, drone calls and support requests.
Pre-registration was opened up following the game's announcement, with players able to register their interest via Google Play and the App Store. And it seems to have received a lot of attention, judging by the numbers announced by PUBG Corp today.
Norway you should miss out on this Swede new update
With Resident Evil Village still very much part of 2021’s best of gaming discussion, the iconic horror brand is finding its way to another realm. That realm is Behavior Interactive’s Dead by Daylight, one of the seemingly rare success stories in the asymmetric game category. Four survivors take on one killer in what amounts to a mini-horror movie experience when it works, and as of Tuesday Resident Evil has made its way into the game. With all the buzz of the last week solidly around E3 and new announcements, this content drop brings some big names into the long-running survival game.
Click here to watch embedded mediaToday Microsoft released another major update for Microsoft Flight Simulator, focusing on improving its world even further.
The update, aptly dubbed World Update V or 1.17.3.0 focuses on improving the Nordic countries of Europe in the simulator, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, & Sweden.
Among its large range of content, it includes five new hand-crafted airports, EKRN Bornholm Airport, BIIS Ísafjörður Airport, ENSB Svalbard Airport, ESSA Stockholm Arlanda Airport, and EFVA Vaasa Airport.
You can check out a trailer below.
As usual, the download is slightly convoluted. First of all, you need to grab a general update from the Windows Store or the Steam Client, weighing 1.03 gigabytes. The second step is to launch the simulator, which will prompt to download another 5.25 gigabytes patch. At that point, you’re not done, as you need to go to the marketplace to purchase (for free) and download another package (it’s easy to find by selecting free content) that weighs 3.53 gigabytes.
At that point you’re done. While you wait for all the downloads to be done, you can read the full patch notes of the update here.
Following a rocky year that included allegations of abuse and misconduct, Ubisoft once again finds itself in uncertain territory. Ubisoft Massive managing director David Polfeldt is stepping down.
Players can still view stories and interact with characters, but there will be no more battles.

E3 is finally over for another year, and golly there were a lot of new games announced, weren't there? Having waded deep through the flood of streams from practically every publisher under the sun, we've emerged with our filleted highlights of the best games of E3 2021. With this year's show taking place soley online, we haven't played as many of these as we'd normally do during E3, but these are the games that excited us the most and whose trailers we've had on repeat ever since we clapped eyes on them.
Elden Ring, there you are. I see you. I see the vaseboys and the big dragon that calls down lightning bolts from the sky. I see the horse which looks more like a goat. But you know what else I see? A floor with a face. A literal face on the floor. And I have not heard a peep from anyone or anything about it. This is the most exciting thing for me, the prospect of interacting with this face-floor. Let me explain why.
Countless livestreams, announcements and gameplay reveals later, E3 2021 is done and dusted. While it was most certainly an improvement on last year's months-long mess, there was still a lot shown off in a very short space of time. If you missed or completely forgot that Breaking Badman Giancarlo Esposito mentioned Adolf Hitler last Thursday, this recap video is exactly what you need in order to catch up.
E3 2021 was a weird one. There were some cool reveals like Arkane's Redfall, and people lost their minds over Elden Ring, but it was definitely light on WOW moments. Also, there were a few strange things, like that bit where Randy Pitchford bothered celebrities on a movie set for half an hour. Still... Forza Horizon 5 looks great, doesn't it?
In a post to the PlayStation blog earlier today, Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager Aaron Jason Espinoza went into detail regarding Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart first-ever Photo Mode. In the trailer below, you can see all of the awesome things you’ll be able to do in this cinematographic feature, which allows you to tweak everything so you can get the perfect shot.
In the blog post, Espinoza goes into some of the new features fans can expect in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s Photo Mode that differs from their past variations. These include customizable character poses, facial expressions, and armor that you can unlock and change on the fly while using the mode.
A Visual Effects mode is also added in, allowing you to add animation to your preview, resulting in some great gifs or videos. You can see a detailed description of the mode, as well as some example screenshots, right down below.
Overcooked! 2 is free to download from the Epic Games Store.
The panicky culinary party game is free on Epic's store now until 4pm UK time on 24th June. It normally costs £19.99.
"While not the most ambitious sequel, Overcooked 2 still ranks among the best couch co-op has to offer," kitchen master Johnny Chiodini wrote, recommending the game in Eurogamer's Overcooked! 2 review.

The PS5 is getting a beta program that will let users try out upcoming console updates before they go live to everyone else. Sony announced the program today, and folks can start signing up now.
It’s a sweet coming-of-age story, with sea monsters
I really didn’t know what to expect when I sat down with Team Ninja’s take on classic Final Fantasy last night, but I sure as hell wasn’t ready for what I experienced. At once, it was both a nostalgic romp through one of my favorite Final Fantasy game settings in precision timing action form and a bizarre B-movie with characters hammier than a pork sandwich. I’ve heard a ton of people complaining about the graphics as well, but I actually didn’t have an issue with them. PlayStation 3? Have you actually looked at a PlayStation 3 game lately? Seriously, c'mon. Yes, it's absolutely not the definitive "current gen experience", but to call it a PS3 game is ridiculous.
Click here to watch embedded mediaCyberpunk 2077 may have released last year but the war on bugs that have plagued the game since launch rages on. Today, developer CD Projekt Red released patch 1.23 for Cyberpunk 2077. It should be out now on all consoles by the time you are reading this.
Here’s a taste of what you can expect from patch 1.23 via CD Projekt Red
Gameplay
Fixed an issue where after killing a NPC and stealing their car, their body could get stuck in the car.
Adam Smasher will no longer receive damage during animations between his attack phases.
Fixed an issue where dropping a NPC’s body caused too much destruction.
Cataresist cyberware should now work properly.
Visual
Fixed Johnny’s spectral appearance in various quests.
Fixed various issues related to clipping in NPCs’ clothes.
Fixed appearance of rocks in the Badlands.
The Pickup
Yeah, you get the idea; it goes on just like that for a while.
Back at release, we were able to review the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077. While even that version of the game was plagued with bugs, our reviewer Alex Gibson did still enjoy his experience overall. Unfortunately, last-gen console versions of the game were far worse off than the current-gen consoles.

After last week's fun on The Electronic Wireless Show podcast, we then actually had to live through E3, and I, especially, am very tired. This week the show is all about our favourite box art or key art images from the history of games. The episode starts of with a sort of funereal air and ends, as Nate described it, like the final scenes of Fury Road, where we are desperately trying to keep going to the end even as bits of the engine fall off.
There is an improvised Cavern Of Lies, Matthew has some new sweets, and Nate has a poorly crayfish. But we also do an extremely in depth analysis of the original Doom cover art, with reference to classical art.
Well, another Cyberpunk 2077 patch has arrived, and although this one doesn't bring any spectacular gameplay additions it does promise further bug fixes and stability improvements.
Patch 1.23 is now live on all platforms, and sorts out a number of quest-specific bugs and general performance issues. The patch itself is apparently rather chunky, with console users reporting a download size of 30GB (my Steam download was a rather more modest 3.45GB).
Of note is the paragraph on stability and performance, which says the patch will provide "numerous crash fixes in animations, UI, scene, physics and gameplay systems". The patch also promises a reduction in the number of crashes through "memory optimisations and memory management improvements in various systems". There's also a vague mention of "various console CPU optimisations".

In a post on his official website earlier today, Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon revealed that he would be retiring from making games professionally. In the statement, he details that he’d like to go back to making games as a hobby and that he would be handing the FNAF franchise over to someone he trusts in due time.
I’ve had a blessed, fulfilling, and rich career. I’ve been shown great kindness and I’ve tried to show great kindness in return. I’ve tried to make some good games (let the debate ensue), and I’ve witnessed the creation of possibly the most creative and talented fanbase on the planet.
But here on the seventh anniversary of the first game’s trailer, as I realize that I was in my mid-30’s when I created the series and now I’m approaching my mid-40’s, I realize that I miss a lot of things that I got to focus on before FNAF became such a success. I miss making games for my kids, I miss doing it just for fun, and I miss making rpgs even though I stink at it. All of this to say that I am retiring. I have been shown tremendous love and support over this last week, a lot of which has come from the LGBTQ community. The kindness shown to me has been surreal.
Is this the end of FNAF? No. This just means that someone else will eventually be running the show; someone of my choosing, and someone I trust. We will have to wait and see how it all plays out, but an announcement will be made at some point.

It Takes Two was a smash hit critically when it released a few months ago. We loved it here at Twinfinite and many other critics felt the same way. It’s probably now safe to call It Takes Two a commercial hit as well as its developer, Hazelight Studios, has confirmed that It Takes Two has crossed the 2 million sales threshold.
It Takes Two is similar to Hazelight Studios’ previous game, A Way Out, in that it is co-op only experience, the game needs to be played with another actual person.
In order to facilitate this, Hazelight Studios gives all purchasers of the game something called a Friend’s Pass, where they can invite someone who hasn’t bought the game to play with them online. The game can also be played via local co-op as well.

The all-powerful, abusive TVA bureaucracy in Loki is just one of many
I’ve been a longtime fan of the Tales series; whether it was watching Symphonia’s Llyod confront his naivety or seeing Abyss’ Luke realize he’s kind of a jerk, I love how the main characters become better versions of themselves through the bonds they build. While Tales’ strongest features are its character interactions and the fast and fun action combat, it’s struggled this last generation to both appeal to modern gamers and provide something new and exciting for its longtime fans.
In Tales of Arise, it seems Kisara could be perfect at both protecting the party and hurting any opponent, thanks to her unique moveset.

EA Sports also promises substantial additions, demanded by the community, to Madden’s franchise mode
For years, Tales games have looked the same, felt the same, played the same, probably even smelled the same, y’know, if game code had fragrance. Each successive entry introduces a tweak or three to established formula—say, a shift to how you cook food, or an overhaul to the combat system—but the foundation remains the…
The Tales series is one of the most well-known among the classic JRPG franchises, and it’s finally time to take a good look at Tales of Arise.
Five years have passed since the release of Tales of Berseria, and it’s the longest time we have spent without a new mainline Tales game on consoles since the debut of the series in 1995.
Due to the long wait (partly due to the Covid-19 pandemic that caused a delay from the original 2020 release window) and to the jump to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S generation, expectations are understandably high for Tales of Arise.
After playing a demo of the game, I can say with a certain degree of confidence that we may have a winner on our hands.
