Moss: Book 2 Review

After the original’s cliffhanger ending, finally returning to Moss’s storybook world was a wonderful and long-awaited treat. Who wouldn’t want to assist an adorable mouse in VR, helping them take down fearsome bosses and overcome platforming challenges in order to save the world? Moss: Book 2 wastes no time, kicking off moments after the first game’s ending and then building upon much of what made it so memorable, even when the aging PSVR tech its currently confined to can’t quite keep up.

While I’d suggest playing Moss first (it’s only a few hours long and very good), Book 2 still manages to be a welcoming sequel for newcomers. Told like a fairy tale, it has you controlling both a mouse named Quill and the human-sized Reader flipping through her story yet again, this time as she’s hunted down by a winged tyrant called Tylan. Like before, this isn’t necessarily the strongest story, but it’s a follow-up that at least improves on other aspects like worldbuilding. You’ll learn more about Cinder Night, the event where Arcane forces brought Quill’s kingdom to heel, and there’s an interesting but underdeveloped cast who bear mental scars from that tragedy. Book 2 intrigued me with its late-game revelations and, once again, I found myself wanting more. Developer Polyarc evidently listened to previous criticism, so it at least doesn’t end on a total cliffhanger this time, but there’s definitely space left for a follow up too.

Dying Light 2: New Game Plus Coming This Month

Dying Light 2 is getting a New Game Plus mode later this month.

Techland announced on Twitter (below) that the third major patch for Dying Light 2 was on its way with a promise it would be one of the biggest yet.

The developer didn't give an exact release date for the update but said it would be available on all platforms by the end of April, meaning it's a few weeks away at most.

Several fixes for both the single and multiplayer portions of the game will be included alongside the New Game Plus mode but Techland didn't say if anything else would be included.

Patch three would have to be fairly sizable to compete with Dying Light 2's previous updates. Its launch day patch featured more than 1,000 fixes while later ones were tasked with fixing server and co-op problems.

Techland also has two major story expansions planned for the game, with lead game designer Tymon Smektała saying these will take place "sideways to the main events" instead of beyond the game's ending.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - How to Change Characters

The Lego games are known for their co-op antics as much as they're remembered for their huge character rosters. There's just something special about replaying iconic moments as different characters, especially as villains and heroes that were never even in a particular scene. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga comes packed with over 300 hundred characters, spanning from across the Star Wars universe. The game includes characters from all nine mainline Star Wars films, with many of them playing a big part during the journeys of Anakin, Luke, and Rey Skywalker--and, of course, some unexpected holiday treats added in for good measure. Our guide will tell you everything you need to know to switch between the game's hundreds of characters while you mumble and joke your way through a galaxy far, far away.

How to change characters in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

You can switch between characters at any time, as long as you're currently in control and not watching a cutscene, but your options are a little limited if you're in the middle of a story mission.

Once finished with a story segment though, you can switch characters by pulling up the Holoprojector and navigating over to the Character Select tab. Then it's as simple as moving to the necessary character class tab (displayed on the left side), highlighting the desired character, and hitting the selection button to confirm.

The Wheel Of Time Remaster Out Now On GOG

Classic first-person shooter The Wheel of Time is now available on GOG, with this re-release being a remastered version of the 1999 classic. Nightdive Studios handled modernization duties for the game, adding high-resolution graphic options and support for Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11 operating systems.

Blending RPG elements into its FPS frame, The Wheel of Time was developed by Legend Entertainment and was set 150 years before the events of the original fantasy novels written by Robert Jordan and the new Amazon TV series.

As Elayna Sedai, the Keeper of the Chronicles of the White Tower, players embarked on a quest to retrieve one of the four lost seals that were used to keep the Dark One imprisoned. With a name like that, he probably wasn't a very nice guy.

There were plenty of other nods to the fantasy books in the game, an army of Dark One minions to slay, and an impressive landscape to explore--for its time--when the game first came out.

The 10 Best Dragon Ball Z Games Of All Time, Ranked

Dragon Ball Z easily dominates the anime charts when it comes to the sheer number of high-quality titles that have been released over the years. The story of Son Goku might feel like it has been told over 9,000 times already, but it's still endlessly entertaining and has produced some of the best games in the anime adaptation genre over the years. A new Dragon Ball Z game is never too far away, and with the bar regularly being raised for what the franchise is capable of, there have been more hits than misses over the years. Pity the same can't be said for Krillin's fighting record in Dragon Ball Z.

We've gathered a list of ten of the best Dragon Ball Z games below, each one a winner in their own right, and ranked them accordingly. From forgotten gems to esports-defining masterpieces, these are the best Dragon Ball Z games you can play right now.

10. Dragon Ball Z: Attack Of The Saiyans

Dragon Ball Z: Attack Of The Saiyans

Dragon Ball and the RPG genre pair up better than Yamcha and a cheap death, with Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans on the Nintendo DS being possibly the purest exploration of the JRPG genre through a Goku lens. While it's primarily focused on just Dragon Ball Z's original Saiyan Saga, Attack of the Saiyans is a surprisingly lengthy game with a terrific amount of content and slick turn-based RPG gameplay that requires some quick reflexes. It's a time-sink of a game, but it's still well worth grabbing a DS and a copy of this underrated game for a terrific afternoon of number-punching action.

My Time At Sandrock first started life as DLC, but its focus on story and community "blew up" into its own game

If you've ever played 2019's My Time At Portia (and given that game's popularity, statistics suggest a bunch of you have) you'll know the appeal. It's a life sim set in a post apocalyptic world where, instead of punk metal bikinis and murder, the vibe is regrowth and bright colours; a sort of juicy 3D Stardew Valley with an emphasis on crafting.

But now the sequel My Time At Sandrock is launching into early access on May 26th, bringing a whole new region to restore. Sandrock may look more traditionally post-apocalyptic, being as it is a sandy outback populated by cowboys, but it's still got a helping-hands community feel at its core, plus an interesting eco-friendly angle and an all-new multiplayer mode. But its origins were much more modest. As Pathea Games' executive producer Zifei Wu tells me, Sandrock originally began life as a My Time At Portia DLC pack.

The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II – Crimson Sin Gets New Screenshots & Details on Famitsu

Today’s issue of Weekly Famitsu included a sizable spread on the upcoming JRPG by Nihon Falcom The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II – Crimson Sin.

Do keep in mind that some of the information and images here may be considered spoilers since most of us haven’t yet played the original Kuro no Kiseki.

We take a look at three of the protagonists, Van Arkride, Elaine Auclair, And Agnés Claudel, that have slightly updated character designs, and we learn a few more details about the game.

It appears that Van’s childhood friend, Elaine, may play a bigger role in the new game.

We also see new characters, including a boy and a girl with a mysterious aura who appear to be seeking something.

An interesting image shows “Red Fairy” who looks like Mare but the red color is mysterious. We also take a look at Celis Ortesia, the fourth dominion of the Gralsritter. This time around it appears that we’ll get to fight her.

Swin Abel from Trials of Reverie also makes an appearance. Perhaps we’ll see a new storyline linked to the Organization and Joerg Rosenberg, who is himself linked to Van and Renne.

There will be many new areas to explore in the Republic of Calvard, including some that were named but couldn’t be visited directly in the previous game, and even some within the capital Edith that you couldn’t enter before.

Fishing is back and has been renewed with elements unique to this game like the ability to direct the rod with the left thumbstick.

It’ll also be possible to use Arts directly in the action-style battles that are alternative to the turn-based style.

The 10 Best Nintendo 3DS Games

Nintendo released its last primarily handheld console, The Nintendo 3DS, worldwide in 2011 which went on to sell over 75 million units in its lifespan. Through 2019, many quality titles were developed for the platform; so many in fact that this list was quite tricky to craft, but we’ve managed to piece together a list of the Top 10 3DS Games of All Time.

10. Mario Kart 7

Mario Kart 7, the seventh entry in Nintendo's famed kart racing franchise made innovative changes to the land-only formula that players had been accustomed to for years, and now we can't imagine the game without these features. Racing beneath the waves and gliding through the skies made for ambitious designs for new tracks and refreshing renewals of classic ones.

Although the roster of characters was a bit lacking, the introduction of creating your own kart by mixing and matching various parts was a welcome addition. With a proper battle mode featuring Balloon Battle and Coin Runners as well as solid online and local play, this was another Mario Kart essential that most 3DS owners had on them at all times.

WoW Wrath Of The Lich King Classic Is Looking Increasingly Likely

World of Warcraft may soon receive Wrath of the Lich King Classic servers, if the discovery of a logo for the beloved expansion in the latest WoW Classic public test realm build and a recent Blizzard survey are any indications.

Via Wowhead, WoW Classic Season of Mastery patch 1.14.3.43086 on the game's public test realm includes a file that is the logo for Wrath of the Lich King. It should be noted that the logo in question is the original expansion logo, and does not include the word "Classic" as Blizzard's other old-school WoW re-releases have done.

The Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind DLC Is Now Free For Everyone

The Elder Scrolls Online is unlocking the Morrowind DLC for everyone, and it sounds like it'll remain free for some time. In a blog post, developer ZeniMax Online Studios said it's making the Morrowind DLC free to help players get up to date before the High Isle prologue launches soon.

Beginning now and running through the "foreseeable future," all ESO accounts will be granted free access to the Morrowind DLC the next time they log in. If the DLC doesn't automatically appear, players can grab it from the in-game Crown store for the low price of $0.00.

With the Morrowind DLC going free, everyone will get access to the Vvardenfell zone and storyline, and this includes the Halls of Fabrication Trial and the High Isle prologue when it's released. One item that the freebie offer does not include is access to the Warden class.

Explore the multi-level cantons of Vivec City, the mushroom towers of Sadrith Mora, and the perilous Ashlands as you delve into the weird and wonderful home of the Dark Elves with the Morrowind DLC," ZoS said.

The DLC was originally released in 2017.

A New Ghost Recon Is In Development - Report

A new Ghost Recon game is reportedly in development and has been for over a year.

According to Kotaku, the next mainline Ghost Recon game could launch as early as the fiscal year 2023, and is codenamed Over. Not much other information about a new Ghost Recon is currently available.

Ubisoft experimented with NFTs for Ghost Recon Breakpoint via its Quartz initiative. The response to it was overwhelmingly negative. Strategic Innovations Lab, the team behind Quartz, has reportedly been silent since.

Last year, Ubisoft also revealed Ghost Recon Frontline, a free-to-play live-service game. Kotaku reports that a negative internal playtest earlier this year has caused the project to reset and so it will likely not launch soon.

Another Ubisoft project, codenamed Pathfinder, is reportedly in the works as well. It's reportedly similar to Ubisoft's battle royale, Hyper Scape, but "more cartoony." Hyper Scape and Ghost Recon Breakpoint weren't all that well-received, and it seems like Ubisoft is looking to move on, as Hyper Scape's servers are shutting down later this month and Breakpoint isn't getting any more new content.

Latest Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Trailer Shows Off Even More Mind-Bending Visuals Than the Last One

Earlier today on the Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel, a brand new trailer was released for the upcoming film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The whole trailer features a haunting version of the Everly Brothers’ song All I Have To Do Is Dream along with tons of mind-bending visuals that you would expect from a Doctor Strange movie.

The trailer begins with some shots we have seen before of the Sanctum Sanctorum crumbling into the sky and doors opening to a staircase that seemingly leads into the clouds. But then there’s a quick shot of Strang lying on the ground in the handcuffs we’ve seen in previous trailers. However, this time around they’re not yet attached to one another. It’s hard to tell if they’ve been broken or just not linked yet.

Then when it gets past this section of the monologue we’ve heard before where Strange talks about the recurring nightmare he has, for the first time we hear Wanda Maximoff echo the same lines. There’s also a short clip that shows Wanda reuniting with her sons Billy and Tommy. But it looks like it may be an illusion since it quickly cuts to Wanda in her Scarlet Witch attire with a distraught look on her face. And for some reason, her Sokovian accent seems to be back.

Then some more clips and audio lines we’ve heard before until it reaches a point where we see Wong and Scarlet Witch Wanda fighting against an enemy that’s not shown in the shot. Later, there’s also a brief shot of Christine Palmer in what looks to be the same building where Strange is brought after being captured.

These Pokemon x Lilo & Stitch Fan-Made Drawings Are Too Adorable

Everyone knows that Pokemon rank as some of the cutest creatures in all of entertainment, as so many of them are just so adorable that you can’t help but wish they were real. Do you know what would make them even cuter, though? Lilo and Stitch varients.

Debuting as a movie on the Disney channel back in 2002, and then running as a TV series shortly thereafter, Lilo & Stitch told a story about an alien genetic experiment that gets turned into a human’s perfect pet in order to hide. As the story goes on, the titular characters become friends and form a bond, while also realizing there are a bunch of other experiments just like Stitch that need to be captured.

As you can see from that description, there is a bunch of overlap regarding Pokemon and Lilo & Stitch, so it makes complete sense that Reddit user Troytheheartboy thought to combine these two franchises for an adorable crossover.

Latest Horizon Forbidden West Patch Fixes Bugs & Rebalances Legendary Weapons

Guerrilla Games has today continued its post-launch support of Horizon Forbidden West with another meaty patch, this time aimed at fixing a plethora of bugs, from quest issues and glitches to the rebalancing of an unintended change to Legendary Weapons.

The full patch notes can be viewed below.

KNOWN ISSUES

We are currently looking into several issues reported by the community. Please note that these issues are not yet fixed in this patch, but our teams are aware of them and they’re being investigated.

  • During Side Quest ‘Blood Choke’, Atekka does not use the ballista.
  • The ‘Upgraded Every Pouch Type’ Trophy does not unlock for some players after upgrading each Pouch type – please note, for this trophy you will need to have the Food Pouch which is collected after purchasing food from a chef.
  • Players reported no longer being able to trade with Abadund after completing his dialogue after finishing a Side Quest.
  • Players cannot place any waypoint markers on the open world within a 500 meter radius of Aloy’s position.
  • Players reported new items acquired not showing up with the New (!) icon in their inventory.

We are also aware of streams being interrupted when playing on 1080p and 60fps, after saving at campfires. To avoid this from happening, it’s advised to select a lower broadcast quality or lower framerate, for example, 1080p and 30fps, or 720p and 60fps.

FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS

Main Quests

  • Fixed an issue in Main Quest “The Broken Sky” where sometimes players were not able to interact with or follow Kotallo after fast traveling away and progressing through other side content.
  • Fixed an issue in Main Quest “The Wings Of The Ten” where in rare occasions the objective would not update upon returning to the Base, blocking progression.

Dying Light 2 Update Will Add A New Game Plus Mode

Dying Light 2's city of Villedor is a treat for players to run around in, but once the game's main story is over, it puts players right back in, as if nothing happened. For some, that's a bit jarring, which may be why developer Techland is implementing, among other things, a New Game Plus mode in the game's next update.

Announced via a post on Twitter, Techland didn't mince any words, saying that Dying Light 2's 1.3 update would be "one of the biggest patches we've released so far." Along with a New Game Plus mode, Dying Light 2's upcoming patch will include "many fixes for both multi and single-player mode."

Horizon Forbidden West Quietly Added a Toggle to Turn Off Pickup Animations

Players can now instantly pick up resources in Horizon: Forbidden West, fixing a point of irritation for some players.

As reported by Eurogamer, the feature ppears to have arrived in the latest update but was missing from developer Guerrilla Games' patch notes. When turned on, it means players don't have to wait for an animation to play out whenever they wish to harvest enemy drops and other useful items in the open world. This also applies to when Aloy's mounted.

Instant pick-up can be turned on and off in the pause menu, and makes exploration in the Forbidden West a little smoother. Many players had found having to wait for an animation every time an item was picked up a point of frustration, not least because you can find yourself doing it a dozen times after a single fight.

Guerrilla has released several updates for the game since it launched in February, most of which have included bug fixes and minor quality of life improvements such as the automatic pickup option. In our 9/10 review, IGN said: "A triumphant combination of enthralling combat, top-tier creature and character design, and a captivating open world, Horizon: Forbidden West is an absolute blast and fantastic showcase for the power of the PS5."
