Sea of Thieves Is Getting a New Randomised Pirate Lord Adventure

Sea of Thieves is getting a partially randomised three-part quest called Legend of the Veil.

The update arrives on April 21 and aims to combine a well put together, cinematic story with the "anything can happen" appeal of regular gameplay.

While the third chapter of Legends of the Veil is unchanging, the first two sections will have randomly generated quests with both combat and puzzle-solving objectives.

The mission starts as the Pirate Lord appears on-board, asking the player to collect three Veil Stones to place in the Veil Mask, each located behind their own mini-adventure.

Chapters one and two may take players to underwater shipwrecks and haunted islands, while the final chapter has them chase a tornado across the map while defending themselves from waves of ghost ships.

The Athena level cap is also being raised from 20 to 30 when Legends of the Veil is released in a few weeks, and Rare is also adding new Ancients-themed cosmetics including a new ship set and weapons.

In our 8/10 review of Sea of Thieves, IGN said: "Despite the lack of meaningful progression beyond cosmetics, Sea of Thieves presents an endless sea of possibilities full of exciting encounters with other players and a never-ending list of fun things to do."

Activision Blizzard making temporary QA workers full-time, with pay raise and benefits

Activision Blizzard yesterday announced that they're converting temporary QA staff in the US to full-time employees, with a pay raise and benefits to boot. Worker groups are celebrating this as a victory in their ongoing mission to force the company to improve the workplace. The standard Boss Rush lets you fight 12 bosses one after the other, with damage from each carried over to the next. Weapons are fully restored, however.

Your aim here (apart from at the boss' weakpoints!) is to down each boss as quick as possible. If Samus is downed herself then you'll be able retry your current boss fight, but incur a time penalty.

Metroid Dread Has a New Boss Rush Mode

A free update for Metroid Dread had added Boss Rush and other new modes, Nintendo has announced.

Players can take on bosses one after another in Boss Rush and, while missiles will be replenished after each battle, any damage taken will continue into the next fight.

Beating a boss will upgrade Samus's abilities though, adding to the player's maximum missiles, Energy Tank, and Power Bombs.

Survival Rush has also been added, a mode similar to Boss Rush but instead of fighting a set number of enemies the player has limited amount of time to defeat as many as possible.

Neither missiles nor health replenish between fights but players are rewarded with more time for beating a boss, with a bonus for doing so without taking damage.

For those seeking a challenge, the one-hit kill Dread Mode is getting its own version of Boss Rush, where players must tackle 12 bosses in a row without taking a single hit.

This will, of course, require some serious skill, so Nintendo has added a Practice Mode for players to select specific bosses to fight at will.

Nintendo previously added two new difficulty options to Metroid Dread making Boss Rush and these other new game modes the second major update since the game launched last October.

Moss Book 2 review - a fairy-tale goodbye for the PSVR

The original Moss released just over four years ago and back then the PSVR’s landscape was a very different place. At that point its community was alive and vibrant. Multiple new releases were popping up each week offering a wide variety of experiences and it felt like an exciting new era of gaming was being born (quite literally) right in front of our eyes.

Nowadays, the hustle and bustle of the PSVR storefront is long gone and decent new releases, hell, even bad to medium releases, are few and far between. Due to the minimal longevity of VR games in general and this drip-feeding of new experiences, it’s a safe bet to say that a lot of people’s PSVR headsets have been gathering dust for a while. I know mine certainly has.

Chances are this drought of games is due to the impending release of the PSVR 2. With its new controllers and camera-free tracking promising a much better experience overall, it makes sense to think that developers would be prepping games to launch with that, rather than catering to a headset that’s about to become obsolete. And that’s why Moss: Book 2 feels like it launched with more of a squeak than the bang it deserves. It’s the sequel to one of my favourite VR games of all time - yet news of its arrival barely caused a ripple of excitement, even from within the VR sphere.

Where Is Xur Today? (April 8-12) - Destiny 2 Xur Location And Exotic Items Guide

After weeks of useless Exotic and Legendary armor rolls, Xur's inventory has finally been fixed in Destiny 2. That means you're going to want to visit the weekend vendor and take advantage of what he's selling this week, especially since we're about to enter another phase of the Iron Banner. Here's where you can find Xur and what Exotics he's selling this week.

Xur arrives in the solar system with the Friday reset, so we'll update this article when he touches down.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Alongside changes in his location, Xur's inventory also rotates weekly. That means it's worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Getting New Goku (Ultra Instinct -Sign-) This Summer

How much support can an old game like Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 get, and how many versions of Goku can be sold? Bandai Namco is looking to answer these questions.

Today the publisher revealed a brand new DLC for the venerable action game that will be released this summer including Goku (Ultra Instinct -Sign-).

This is certainly remarkable considering that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was released on October 25, 2016, and will be nearly six years old when this DLC launches.

Funnily, the Steam page of the game still mentions that it would receive “post-launch support for one year.” May want to multiply that by six.

You can check the trailer below.

Ultimately, it isn’t too surprising that Bandai Namco is looking to continue supporting Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, considering that it has sold over 8 million copies.

MLB The Show 22 Review

There’s a limit to how much development can happen on a game in a single year, and MLB The Show 22 is the perfect example of what hitting that wall can look like. This year’s entry into Sony San Diego’s annualized baseball series plays as well as ever and looks great, but the confines imposed by its rigid release schedule are also more apparent than ever. A new cooperative mode is a welcome addition and an already solid stadium builder has been expanded upon nicely, but technical issues are more persistent than previous editions too. MLB The Show 22 is still a really good baseball game – it’s just beginning to show signs that it may be time to call in a reliever.

The lifelike recreation of Major League broadcasts in MLB The Show 22 is just as impressive as last year. There’s a cinematic quality to the way player-controlled action is framed, with intros, outros, overlay graphics, and the deep pool of stats that baseball fans expect. The lovingly detailed recreations of real world ballparks look great in 4K too. The lighting is particularly stunning; real baseball games play out over multiple hours, and the in-game transition from sunset to a stadium fully illuminated against the night sky is marvelous. Suncast shadows in the afternoon give way to 360-degree illumination when the sun falls, and it’s easy to forget what you see on screen is still just 1’s and 0’s on a hard drive.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Tips for Beginners

Like all Lego game titles, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is crammed full of unlockable content, Easter Eggs, and silly gags but it's going to take a lot of time and energy to see it all — unless you take note of our beginner's tips, which will help your brick-busting action and exploration stay one with the force. Here are the best tips that we recommend for your journey through The Skywalker Saga.

Stay on target

Cheat Codes and playing with a friend will certainly help you on your journey to unlocking the 380+ characters and seeing all of the magical Star Wars moments, but keep your sights on Story Mode until you've seen it through to the very end.

The Skywalker Saga contains all kinds of different areas and situations that are only accessible with specific characters and/or character types. Switching between characters is pretty easy, especially once your Jedi reflexes get used to navigating the Holocron, but the real game begins after assembling a team with different heroes and villains.
