While long-time fans of the series will know that Ms. Pac-Man is the wife of Mr. Pac-Man, and appeared as such in the 1984 side-scroller Pac-Land, a new re-release of the game has gone to the trouble of changing the character.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the winners of the 2022 BAFTA Games Awards today, and Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Returnal took the most categories over other games released in 2021.
The third-person shooter roguelike won in four categories, including Best Game and Performer In A Leading Role with Jane Perry as the protagonist, Selene Vassos. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, It Takes Two and Unpacking followed with two wins each with the home decoration game Unpacking receiving EE Game Of The Year.
One notable winner is No Man’s Sky, which won for Evolving Game over other nominees such as Among Us, Apex Legends, and Fortnite. No Man’s Sky originally released in 2016 to disastrous reviews, but still continues to receive free updates and new content almost six years later. Former US PlayStation CEO Jack Tretton certainly had his share of ups and downs at Sony. While his tenure was filled with more highs than lows, PlayStation certainly had its tough moments between 1995 and 2014.
In a new interview with Axios, Tretton shared some of those moments, recalling some of his best and worst moments from E3. They include the PlayStation 4 reveal, which managed to deal a devastating blow to the hopes of the Xbox One before the generation even began.
The reveal included the "Official PlayStation Used Game Instructional Video", which mocked Microsoft's DRM policy of restricting used games (which the company eventually reversed). The PlayStation 4 also managed to undercut the Xbox One by around $100 due to Xbox's console including the Kinect.
"I have a lot of friends at Microsoft now and had a lot of friends then, and I wasn't necessarily looking to do it at their expense. I was just feeling really good about it," Tretton said.
But times weren't always so good for Tretton. In 2011, PlayStation suffered a 23-day PlayStation Network outage due to a hack that left some 77 million accounts exposed. PlayStation endured heavy criticism for the event and wound up offering 30 days of free PSN to all members among other make-goods.

BAFTA has announced the 2022 winners of its annual Games Awards, with developer Housemarque's sci-fi shooter rogue-like Returnal leaving the show most laden, having taken home the gong across a grand total of four categories, including one for Best Game.
Alongside that Best Game award, Returnal came top in BAFTA's Audio Achievement amd Music categories, while Jane Perry scored a win in the Performer in a Leading Role category for her portrayal of Returnal protagonist Selene Vassos.
Returnal wasn't the only multi-award winner, however; Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart successfully beat the competition in BAFTA's Animation and Technical Achievement categories, while Hazelight Studios' It Takes Two was named best Multiplayer game and best Original Property.

The 18th British Academy Games Awards (BAFTA) were held tonight in the U.K., with the award for Best Game of 2021 going to Returnal. Returnal took home the most awards overall, also winning in the Audio Achievement and Music categories.

Call of Duty: Warzone's Rebirth Reinforced event is still in full swing on Rebirth Island, and the fourth community challenge is now live and teasing a "Golden Vault" mystery.
Mysterious bunkers aren't new to Call of Duty: Warzone, as the battle royale's original Verdansk map also launched with bunker Easter eggs of its own. However, three "golden" vaults were added to Rebirth Island with Season 2 Reloaded's major map update. The vaults are still currently locked, but a new challenge is now live in the Rebirth Reinforced event to let players work towards a community goal of unlocking them.

Elden Ring has enough sorceries to make your head spin, but not all of them are equally useful. One particularly strong option can be found with just a bit of time and effort early in the game, though, and it will no doubt be able to last you through the entire adventure. Rock Sling is a great spell for stunning enemies and dealing big damage, so follow this guide to find out where you can find this excellent sorcery.
Rock Sling is a sorcery that requires 18 Intelligence to cast. It fires three rocks from the earth that do great damage when they all connect. It also can stagger enemies quickly, making it great for opening them up for critical hits.
Rock Sling's item description reads:
One of the glintstone sorceries that manipulates gravitational forces. Pulls a clumb of rocks from the earth and sends them flying. This sorcery can be cast while in motion. A gravitational technique studied by the young Radahn. His master was an Alabaster Lord with skin of stone.
Rock Sling can be found within the Street of Sages Ruins within the swamp that takes up the middle of Caelid. Gaining access to this area is fairly easy from the beginning of the game by exiting Limgrave from the northeast and heading straight down to the ruins.
It feels good when you finally have your sorcery build ready to go in Elden Ring, but you'll still want to be sure that you're maximizing your damage potential when facing off against the game's myriad of enemies. To do so, you can grab the Scholar's Armament sorcery to add a bit of extra magic damage to your weapons for a brief time. In this guide, we'll tell you where to find it.
Scholar's Armament is a sorcery that requires 12 Intelligence to cast. This spell applies magic damage to your weapon for 90 seconds, but it will disappear if you switch weapons after casting it. It also can not be applied to weapons with pre-existing damage types, such as fire, lightning, etc.
Scholar's Armament's item description reads:
One of the glintstone sorceries of the Academy of Raya Lucaria. Enchants armaments held in the right hand with magic-affinity attacks. This sorcery can be cast while in motion. Taught to the Knights of the Cuckoo by the academy as payment for their contract.
Scholar's Armament can be purchased from Sorceress Sellen, who resides within Waypoint Ruins in Limgrave. The spell costs 3,000 runes, and she will sell it by default--meaning you don't need to give her any of the many scrolls found throughout the game in order to purchase it.

Today Aniplex announced that a new City Hunter anime movie is in production.
The announcement was made in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the airing in Japan of the first episode of the original City Hunter anime.
The announcement also mentions that the previous movie which premiered in 2019 (about which you can read my report) was considered a big hit, grossing over 1.5 billion yen (over $12 million).
The original voice actor Akira Kamiya (75) will reprise his role as the protagonist, Shinjuku-based sweeper Ryo Saeba, while the original “Get Wild” by TM Network will still be the ending song.
No information has been provided about the debut timing of the movie, but you can check out the announcement trailer below.
If you’re unfamiliar with the series, City Hunter debuted with a popular manga by Tsukasa Hojo in 1985 on the pages of Weekly Shounen Jump, and sparked a ton of anime series and movies. The latest film City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes debuted in Japan in 2019.
Of course, there have also been dedicated video games, and the hero Ryo Saeba semi-recently made a playable appearance in Jump Force by Bandai Namco.
Activision is hosting a double battle pass XP event for Call of Duty, so players can level up their battle pass tiers much faster in both Warzone and Vanguard.
The double battle pass XP event will be live from April 6 until April 13, allowing double the earn rates for leveling the Season 2 battle pass in both Warzone and Vanguard. This is a great time for players to hop on and finish leveling up their pass before the season ends. An official start time has not been announced for Season 3, but the current battle pass is set to expire on April 26.
According to Raven Software's Trello board, Warzone players can also score standard double XP when playing the new Rebirth Blood Money Quads playlist that went live on April 7. The XP event for this Warzone playlist is available across all platforms, and the double earn rates will last until April 14. Players who participate in the Rebirth Blood Money Quads playlist will also be working towards a community challenge in the Rebirth Reinforced event, which requires the community to collect $40 trillion in cash. Completing this challenge awards participants with 100,000 XP and will unlock a new feature on the map.

We're just a few months away from Splatoon 3's Summer 2022 release window, and Nintendo has quietly revealed new screenshots for the Switch title.
First spotted by Nintendo Life, Nintendo updated the official Splatoon 3 Japanese webpage with some new looks at the threequel, giving us brief glimpses of competitive multiplayer, the single-player campaign, the new hub city, and more.
You can take a look at the screenshots for yourself in the gallery below.
Splatoon 3's story seems to really be digging into the post-apocalyptic vibe, featuring an upside-down Eiffel Tower, a Mad Max-esque wasteland, and an inverted city skyline. You can also get a look at some returning characters, like the Squid Sisters from Splatoon 1. Plus, there's a quick look at Splatsville, the "city of chaos" that will serve as this game's hub world, like Inkopolis from the older games.
We most recently saw Splatoon 3 in the February 2022 Nintendo Direct, where we learned the cooperative Salmon Run mode is returning, bringing a handful of new boss types along with it. Nintendo originally revealed Splatoon 3 in February 2021, and later announced the single-player campaign called "Return of the Mammalians".

In a press release, Faerie Afterlight developer Clay Game Studio have partnered with publisher Mastiff for the upcoming Steam release.
Though, despite the partnership the release date remains as a vague “coming soon” on Steam and the press release only promises “later this summer.”

Using powerful sorceries and equipping great magic-focused gear in Elden Ring requires you to bump up your Intelligence stat quite a bit. If you're looking for a bit of a boon to the stat without investing the points, though, you can always try out the Stargazer Heirloom talisman. The Stargazer Heirloom talisman raises your Intelligence by 5 points. Though it won't make a major difference to your damage, it can be very useful as a temporary option to help you reach stat requirements for weapons and sorceries while you save up the runes to permanently increase your Intelligence.

A talisman engraved with the legend of a queen. Raises intelligence. The young astrologer gazed at the night sky as she walked. She had always chased the stars every step of her journey. Then she met the full moon — and, in time, the astrologer became a queen.
The Stargazer Heirloom can be obtained at the very top of the Divine Tower of Liurnia, which is located to the very east of Liurnia of the Lakes. However, you'll need to go through quite a lot to eventually access this section of the game, so don't expect this one to be an early-game grab.
If you like to play defensively in Elden Ring, you're probably on the lookout for anything that can improve your guarding ability. While a solid shield is the most important thing to have, you may also want to check out the Greatshield Talisman, as it's a great option for any build that wants to get the most out of going big on defense. The Greatshield Talisman boosts your guarding ability. This means you'll lose a bit less stamina when you're hit while blocking with a shield, which is extremely useful in a variety of situations--especially for those with builds that have lower Endurance.

Talisman depicting a knight holding a greatshield. Boosts guarding ability. The knights of Leyndell once modeled themselves after the Tree Sentinels. Their purpose is to protect that which deserves protection, and thus the shield always comes before the sword.
The Greatshield Talisman can be obtained from a chest in a carriage in southern Altus Plateau. You'll reach this beautiful mid-game biome by following the main story path, and grabbing the talisman here is a cinch.

GamesIndustry.biz asked Activision Blizzard if former contractors at Raven Software laid off back in December would be hired back as a result of this conversion and an Activision Blizzard spokesperson told the publication, "This conversion of nearly 1100 QA workers at Activision and Blizzard does not have any relation to the petition pending at Raven studio. The Raven situation is limited to Raven. The testers whose contracts weren't extended were welcome then, and now, to apply for any jobs at the company."
Elden Ring's list of incantations feels like it's a mile long, and the spells on it range from mediocre to ultra-powerful. If you have the build for it, The Flame of Frenzy is a visually exciting spell that definitely falls in the latter category with its massive AOE damage potential. The Flame of Frenzy is an incantation that requires 16 Faith to cast. The spell fires a collection of yellow flames from your eyes, dealing significant damage within a fairly wide area. It also builds up the Madness status effect on enemies, which will deal a huge chunk of damage if it eventually caps out.
The Flame of Frenzy's item description reads:
Incantation originating from the maddening Three Fingers. Causes the yellow flame of frenzy to burst forth from the caster's eyes. Charging increases the range of the burst. The flame of frenzy deals damage and causes buildup of madness. This incantation also causes buildup of madness in the caster, and is only effective against Tarnished.
The Flame of Frenzy can be obtained at the Callu Baptismal Church in Weeping Peninsula. This biome is located directly below Limgrave and can be visited pretty much immediately after completing the tutorial and entering the open world.

Wrath of Gold is an incantation that requires 32 Faith to cast. It creates a blast that knocks back enemies while dealing damage, making it a great option for crowd control and a fun spell to use on players in PVP when near ledges.
Wrath of Gold's item description reads:
Superior Erdtree Worship incantation. Produces a golden shockwave that knocks back nearby foes. Charging increases the size of the shockwave. This incantation was discovered when the Elden Ring was shattered, and it was feared as a sign of the Erdtree's wrath.
Wrath of Gold can be obtained within Woodfolk Ruins in northern Altus Plateau. This bright and visually distinct biome is a mid-game area that you'll have to visit along the main path of the story, but the actual location of the incantation is near a Minor Erdtree situated in a dark forested area filled with dangerous enemies.
Pirate Legends yearning for some adventure to really test their nautical prowess will finally get their wish from 21st April, when Sea of Thieves launches Legend of the Veil - a brand-new, story driven quest designed exclusively for the piratical cream of the crop.
Rare initially teased Legend of the Veil during its Sea of Thieves' 2022 roadmap reveal back in January, and with a release date for the adventure now confirmed, the developer has shared more on what players can expect to see come its arrival.
While Sea of Thieves' existing Pirate-Legend-focused Athena Voyages are little more than a clutch of Trading Company tasks strung together into one lengthy quest, Legend of the Veil is aiming to be rather more ambitious, blending the cinematic presentation of previous Tall Tales adventures - complete with cut-scenes, music, and voice work - with the randomness and replayability of standard voyages.
