During Gamescom Opening Night Live 2020, EA revealed a new single-player gameplay trailer for Star Wars Squadrons. You can watch the trailer below.

After a brief Rebel propaganda film, we got a firsthand look at an Imperial mission. The cockpit view of the TIE Fighter was brief, but it showed some dogfighting action, followed by quick cuts of other spacecraft views on a variety of missions. You can play any of the missions in VR as well.

Star Wars Squardons is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, through backwards compatibility rather than next-gen upgrades. However, it will be priced at the budget-conscious $40 instead of $60 or even $70. Creative director Ian Frazier said the price point is meant to be inviting given its narrow focus on dogfighting combat.

The Sims 4 is ditching its suburban comforts for a life of adventure in a a galaxy far, far away, thanks to imminent arrival of its latest Game Pack expansion, Star Wars: Journey to Batuu.

As its name suggests, The Sims 4 newest expansion, jets players and their tiny digital charges to Batuu, a remote terrestrial planet at the edge of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. Here, Sims can explore Black Spire Outpost (also the setting for Disney's various new Star Wars theme park lands), where they can eat, shop, dodge Stormtroopers, and admire the Millennium Falcon.

It's also possible for Sims to pledge their allegiance to either the Resistance or the First Order while in Batuu, embarking on missions at the behest of DJ R-3X, the droid in charge of the music at Oga's Cantina, to earn rewards and a raise their reputation within a particular faction.

The Gamescom: Opening Night Live event is now underway. There are tons of games being showcased at the moment, and Spellbreak is among them. This new launch trailer revealed the release date for Spellbreak.

The free-to-play fantasy battle royale game is coming to multiple platforms soon with a Sept. 3 launch date.

Developer Proletariat also recently announced that the game will support cross-platform play across PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch at launch.

It’s a battle royale that switches up the formula a bit by completely focusing on magic instead of guns. In that respect, the gameplay is certainly unique for the genre.

If you want to see a bit more of what the game looks and plays like, you can watch this trailer from July.

Today’s trailer shows off a mix of cinematic storytelling and in-game combat to build hype ahead of its launch next month.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has finally been announced, and Activision is wasting no time in ramping up the promotion for the upcoming game. The company has announced that it will be giving out goodies to fans who check out the Call of Duty League Championship this weekend, including Black Ops Cold War beta codes.

According to the announcement, you can earn rewards like in-game Calling Cards featuring the four championship teams starting on Saturday, August 29. Those include the teams from Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and London. Then on Sunday, August 30 you can also earn a free Knife blueprint emblazoned with the CoD League. But the big prize is reserved for Sunday: 10,000 beta codes for Black Ops Cold War.

The beta codes will be distributed randomly, so unlike some of the other rewards you aren't guaranteed to get a spot. But it's a better chance than if you don't watch it. To participate, make sure you link your account so you're eligible for the in-game rewards. You can watch the competition at CallofDutyLeague.com.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is a remake of the 2002 original, but rebuilt with new visuals, cutscenes, gameplay, and more. Today developer Hangar 13 and publisher 2K Games gave us a new look at this open-world adventure, emphasizing the shady characters you meet as protagonist Tommy Angelo. The fantastical third-person battle royale Spellbreak now has a release date. Confirmed during the Gamescom Opening Night Live presentation, the game is coming on September 3 and will be free to play.

Spellbreak is an RPG-like battle royale that has you controlling one of six different classes of battlemages as you fight to come out on top. You can watch the launch trailer below to get a sense of combat, which is understandably hectic when all six classes start duking it out on the battlefield, unleashing spells at one another.

As you'd expect from a battle royale, your efforts spent fighting feed into your class' progression, allowing you to customize and enhance them further. This feeds into the complexity of Spellbreak's combat, which revolves around creating different combinations of elemental properties and tactically infusing them into your class' magical gauntlets to create devastating attacks. There's quite an amount of depth involved, so for more details and our thoughts about how the game plays, read our Spellbreak preview.

Today during Gamescom Opening Night Live, Bungie pulled the lid off of the new stasis subclasses. While we’ve seen them in action before and the trailer also reuses some of that same footage, fans do now have names for all of them. Here they are:

• Warlock – Shadebinder
• Hunter – Revenant
• Titan – Behemoth

They’ll join each of the three other subclasses for each regular class. Aside from learning the names of the new stasis subclasses, the footage was a bit light. Check it out for yourself below:

Most of what was in it, has been seen already but some of the PvP footage was new and I don’t envy Bungie trying to balance around what looks to be very cracked out subclasses. But hey, they do look fun to use!

We’ll stay tuned to the weekly updated tonight and see if Bungie provides any more details about Destiny 2’s new stasis subclasses.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light was recently delayed and will now release on Nov. 10 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia and PC. When the next-gen consoles release, presumably it will be ready to go on PS5 and Xbox Series X as well.

Today’s Gamescom Opening Night presentation offered a look at a new Destiny 2: Beyond Light trailer. And while the video showcases a wealth of great action and shooting, the big takeaways were closer looks at the three new subclasses coming to the game, each of which uses Stasis, the new Darkness-infused power source that is arriving with this expansion.

Warlocks gain the abilities of the Shadebinder, who appears to wield a staff to fracture enemies with cold, reminiscent of a fantasy frost mage. Hunters will take on the role of the Revenant, who seems to wield two kamas that they can fling at enemies and bounce off walls. Finally, Titan players can look forward to taking on the role of the Behemoth, who seems to “hulk out” and create a smashing fist that can be slammed into enemies.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is headed for release on November 10.

To war, once again. Following beta skirmishes earlier this year, Age Of Empires 3: Definitive Edition is almost ready to roll into battle. Firing a new trailer into tonight’s Opening Night Live showcase, the spruced-up strategy showed off the new modes, new factions and touched-up battlefields that we’ll be marching through come October 15th.

After successfully becoming the most-downloaded PlayStation Plus game of all time, Fall Guys is continuing its quest for world domination with a second season, which lands this October.

In this season players will find a range of new cosmetics designed around a medieval theme, including dragons and wizards. Alongside this you can expect some brand new rounds "inspired by the middle ages", which include drawbridges, giant swinging axes and moveable siege ramps. It's gone full Takeshi's Castle in here.

Alongside its PlayStation Plus success, Fall Guys recently hit 7m copies sold on Steam - while its Twitter account has become something of a sensation in itself. It was recently revealed that a mobile version of Fall Guys would be coming to China, so I can't see those numbers slowing down anytime soon.

Earlier today during the Gamescom 2020 Opening Night Live stream we got an extensive look at the story elements as well as some gameplay in the VR shooter, Medal of Honor: Above & Beyond.

Medal of Honor Above & Beyond is the very first game in the franchise to be completely in VR. It follows the story of an OSS operative that plays a part in turning the tide of the war in favor of the Allied forces.

And since you’re a part of the organization that eventually became the CIA, we see a few cool spy tools and contraptions like a door that opens when certain keys are pressed on a piano.

The three acts will focus on the planning of D-Day, D-Day itself, and combating the Nazi secret weapon program. That means we’re going to get an up-close and personal look with the infamous V-2 rocket.

And you can finally try out the VR fps action from this brand-new trailer when Medal of Honor: Above & Beyond launches exclusively for Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift s headsets holiday 2020.

Remember that time loop game 12 Minutes? It’s the one where a couple are hanging out in their dimly-lit apartment, reliving a rather unpleasant home invasion over and over again. Cheery game. Well, it turns out that home invader is played by none other than Willem Dafoe, the wife is played by Daisy Ridley, and the husband is played by James McAvoy. What a cast! Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was a showpiece game for the PlayStation 5 debut, with a dimension-hopping mechanic that accents how the SSD can be used to impact the game experience. We got a new look at the upcoming game during Gamescom Opening Night Live.

The gameplay demo was an extended version of the one featured during the PS5 reveal event earlier this year. Early on in the footage, Ratchet inadvertently shoots Dr. Nefarious's Dimensionator, causing dimensional rifts to appear everywhere. We then see Ratchet using his new Rift Tether to grapple glowing yellow rifts and pull himself into them, reaching new platforms. You can watch the trailer below.

Following the demo, Gamescom ONL host Geoff Keighley spoke with Insomniac's Mike Daly and Marcus Smith, who shed a bit more light on the upcoming game. According to Insomniac, the PS5's horsepower allows the team to fill the game world with density and life. Players also won't experience any load screens at all during the game.

A whole lot of medieval foolishness with knights, dragons, castles, and drawbridges is coming to Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout with season 2 in October. Developers Mediatonic today gave a small peek at what’s to come and yeah, it looks like more Fall Guys – which the main thing Fall Guys needs, really, just more of itself.

While Destiny 2's Beyond Light expansion is going to shake up the game world--a bunch of removing some planetary destinations are being removed as new ones cycle in--arguably the biggest change is the new Stasis ability, which is going to make big alterations to the way you actually play the game. We got another big look at the Stasis powers and their related Supers during Gamescom's Opening Night Live show, which give a sense of how you'll freeze and shatter enemies.

The new trailer shown at Gamescom gave us a little more detail about the three new subclasses Stasis will bring to the game, and a look at some of the stuff you can do with them. Bungie added slightly more detail to its website as well. The powers you'll wield include Stasis Field, Freeze, and Shatter, and it seems like each subclass will have some or all of those abilities. For Warlocks, there's the Shadebinder, which we saw firing bolts of ice at enemies to deal damage, in line with the Shatter power. Hunters get the Revenant class, which seems geared toward Stasis Fields that slow enemies. Finally, there's the Behemoth for Titans, which seems to be all about the Freeze ability, sending ice ripping through the ground to solidify enemies and then using Titans' big melee hits to crush their icy forms. We also got the sense that you'll use Stasis crystals to instantly create defensive structures like walls, which can help you close the gap on enemies to deal punishing blows.

At today's Gamescom Opening Night Live, Respawn showed off a new story trailer for the virtual reality game Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.

In Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, you're recruited into the OSS (now CIA) and you'll be immersed in many different locales and scenarios from WWII. Like many other WWII games, you'll explore D-Day, Berlin, the Nazi secret weapon program, the French Resistance, and more. However, the entire journey being a virtual reality affair changes things significantly. Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is expected to launch holiday season this year.

Take a look at the story trailer below for a look at what's coming, but realize that video can't really convey the VR experience. 

Fall Guys is heading to the Middle Ages for its second season. Medieval costumes and courses will be heading to the game.

The newest game pack for The Sims 4 has been officially revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live, and it is the Star War. The Sims 4 Star Wars (TM): Journey To Batuu is coming out on September 8th, just over a week from today, and will allow your Sims to just, like, go to a Star Wars planet and see the Millennium Falcon and everything.

There’s a fairly extensive look at all this in the new trailer, which also appears to show someone getting arrested for asking a Stormtrooper out on a date. Play stupid games, as they say. Importantly, it is confirmed that you can create both your own lightsaber and droid.

Chorus, the sci-fi combat shooter developed by Deep Silver Fishlabs, received its first gameplay trailer today during Gamescom: Opening Night Live. 

In this new trailer, we can see action gameplay footage featuring combat via the starship that the player character Nara, an ace pilot facing her haunted past, navigates.

The trailer boasts that you “become a living weapon” as you shoot through hazards in space, such as meteors and enemy missiles, all while trying to reclaim the power Nara once had.

The visuals look impressive even through the fast-paced action. You have full control over Nara’s ship to avoid projectiles and shoot at enemies across the galaxy in order to help reclaim her power.

Chorus was originally announced alongside a cinematic trailer earlier this year in May during the Inside Xbox event.

The game’s official website describes the game:

Take control of Nara, once the Circle’s deadliest warrior, now their most wanted fugitive, on a quest to destroy the dark cult that created her. Unlock devastating weapons and mind-bending abilities in a true evolution of the space-combat shooter. Just as Geoff Keighley promised, tonight’s Gamescom Opening Night Live show revealed what fans can expect from Fall Guys Season Two.

We’re still a few weeks from the end of Season One, so you’ve got time to reach level 40 of the game’s version of the Battle Pass, but at least you know what to look forward to from Season 2.

The news comes on the back of PlayStation revealing that Fall Guys is the most downloaded free PlayStation Plus game of all time and Devolver Digital revealing that the game has sold over seven million copies on Steam.

Opening Night Live revealed that Season 2 will introduce a medieval theme to the game. Not only will there be a whole host of viking and dragon themed costumes for your bean, but it’ll also introduce new rounds to master.

Some will be variations of existing ones, such as Door Dash and Hoopsie Daisy on new maps, but there will be brand new games.

You’ll be running and falling through fortresses in Season 2 and the ability to move blocks will also be added, introducing a new tactical element to some of the rounds.

Mafia: Definitive Edition is inching toward its release next month, and developer Hangar 13 has released a new trailer to help tide fans over in the meantime.

Streamed during the Gamescom Opening Night Live digital event held on Aug 27, the trailer showed off a bit more of what the full remake of the first Mafia game will offer to fans new and old, namely through its story.

In it, main character Tommy Angelo meets some of the most prominent members of the Salieri crime family, attempting to prove his worth as a potential new member. They speak on how loyalty is most important of all to them,and how showing it will ensure him a comfortable life; to which Tommy assures them he’s just the right man for the job.

The trailer then cuts to footage of Tommy in action during missions, shooting and smashing his way through various situations while being drawn into a life alongside members of the family; and, inch by inch, drawing him even further into a dark and dangerous life that he may never be able to escape alive.

All the while, the game’s enhanced graphics remade from the ground up take the drama to the next level, improving and even remaking scenes from the original title to maximum effect.

It’s quite the show of the game’s strengths to say the least, and fans will want to check out the full trailer down below.

Microsoft has revealed the release date for the remaster of their classic real-time strategy title, Age of Empires III, and its expansions during the Gamescom 2020 Livestream with an epic trailer, and you can play it for yourself on October 15.

Consisting of the base game and both of the original expansion packs, The War Chiefs and The Asian Dynasties, Age of Empires III Definitive Edition comes with the usual slew of updated visuals, enhanced visuals and audio, and quality of life improvements.

In addition, two new civilizations will be available to play for the first time: The Inca and the Swedes.

There will also be two new game modes for players to contend with. Historical Battles will let you play out some of the great engagements of the era, and Challenge Battles will test series veterans with tough new scenarios to overcome.

Developed by Tantalus Media, Age of Empires III Definitive Edition is being overseen by World’s Edge Studio, the steward of the franchise and developer of the in-development Age of Empires IV.

Anapurna Interactive has announced a starry cast for its upcoming time-loop thriller Twelve Minutes.

X-Men and Shameless star James McAvoy, and Star Wars' Daisy Ridley, will be joined by Spider-Man and Beyond: Two Souls actor Willem Dafoe.

Twelve Minutes has been the work of indie designer Luis Antonio for the last seven years. Its story involves a violent home invasion and repeated time loops where you try to change the outcome of what happens.

Earlier today during the Gamescom 2020 Opening Night Live stream we got a new look at some gameplay featuring WWE legends and current Superstars brawling in WWE 2K Battlegrounds.

Throughout the trailer we see the WWE legends and Superstars going toe to toe by unleashing their finishing moves on each other. We saw the Undertaker taking it Finn Balor outside of the ring and AJ Styles landed the Styles Clash on Taker inside of the ring.

We also got a preview of an item that you don’t typically see in wrestling games. It was only for a split-second, but there was a toy hammer used as a weapon in one of the matches. It points towards the inclusion of non-standard wrestling game weapons.

And of course, there were plenty of wrestlers glowing with orange, purple, and all other colors of auras. WWE 2K Battlegrounds appears to be one hectic and action-packed arcade wrestling game.

And you can finally try out all the wrestlers from this brand-new trailer when WWE 2K Battlegrounds launches on Xbox One, PS4, Switch, Stadia, and PC on Sept. 18 of this year.
