BAFTA Award winner Inscryption now has a release date on PlayStation. Publisher Devolver Digital has announced that the deck-builder roguelike game will be out on 30th August on PS4 and PS5.

As we've previously reported, the game will have PlayStation-exclusive features, such as haptic feedback, to ensure you feel the weight of every card you play.

This marks Inscryption's first release on consoles, so if you haven't given it a try yet, we would highly recommend it. The game earned an Essential rating from Bertie in Eurogamer's Inscryption review when the game first released last year on PC.

A hacker has posted internal documents from Roblox in an extortion attempt.

The documents, seen by Motherboard, appear to include personal information on Roblox-focused creators producing some of the platform's most popular games.

Episode 9 of Better Call Saul’s final season has just dropped, and if you’re wondering why Gus left the bar so suddenly after drinking the wine, here’s what you need to know.

For context, Gus heads to a bar after his meeting with the cartel to unwind, and he enjoys a glass of wine with a waiter named David. After a lively conversation, David excuses himself to fetch a bottle that he knows Gus will appreciate, but before David returns, Gus abruptly leaves.

Do be warned that this article contains spoilers for the latest episode of Better Call Saul and the events of Breaking Bad.

Why Did Gus Leave the Bar in Better Call Saul?

It’s not immediately obvious why Gus left the bar so quickly, but based on what we know of his character in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, we can speculate. When David is describing the wine to him, he mentions that its flavor is “almost bloody”, which could serve as a reminder to Gus that he still has plenty of work to do in his plan to exact revenge on the cartel.

In addition to that, during the conversation, Gus also mentions that he bought a rare vintage that he’s saving for a special occasion, which we can assume to mean the day he finally succeeds in bringing down the cartel.

It’s highly likely that Gus left so abruptly because A, he’s reminded of all the work he still has to do in rebuilding the meth lab and taking down Don Eladio and his cronies, and B, given how meticulous he is, Gus just isn’t the kind of guy who would allow himself an extended break or any kind of relief when there’s still work to be done. With all that in mind, it makes sense that even though Gus has just narrowly escaped a very nasty situation with Lalo and Hector, he feels that there’s no time to rest.

Alicia Vikander has revealed the sequel to 2018's Tomb Raider film adaptation is currently in some sort of limbo due to the "politics" involved with Amazon's purchase of MGM.

Vikander, who took on the axe wielding, bow and arrow shooting role of Lara Croft in the most recent Tomb Raider film, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the sequel, saying that she has "no clue" how things will go from here. "With the MGM and Amazon buyout... its kind of politics," she explained.

That being said, Vikander is just waiting for the sequel to be given the green light once more. "I think Misha [Green, who is currently attached to the project as its writer and director] and I have been ready, so it's kind of in somebody else's hands, to be honest," she shared.

A Japanese Kabuki show will retell the story of Final Fantasy X. Square Enix is working with TBS to hold the Kabuki theater show. It will take place at IHI Stage Around Tokyo in Toyosu in Spring 2023.

Kikunosuke Onoe V will be the star of the Kabuki show. The actor will also handle the show's planning and direction. Final Fantasy X producer Yoshinori Kitase also commented how Onoe brought the project to him with much enthusiasm. The cast list will also include more actors like Shido Nakamura II and Matsuya Onoe II.

IHI Stage Around Tokyo has published a teaser trailer for the Final Fantasy X Kabuki show on its YouTube channel. It shows that the large stage background will feature scenic locations from the original game.

The trailer description also noted that this Kabuki show will help celebrate the Final Fantasy series' 35th anniversary. Square Enix had announced more celebrations for the anniversary, such as Uniqlo t-shirts and the Distant Worlds world tour concert. The latter will take place in many countries, from Japan in August 2022 to the U.S. in March 2023.

Bungie has filed a lawsuit against a Destiny 2 player, accusing them of cheating and harassing the game's developers.

The player, Luca Leone, regularly streamed the game using cheats on his Twitch channel miffysworld, for which Bungie repeatedly banned him. Leone created 13 separate accounts in an attempt to evade bans, with each account violating the game's Limited Software License Agreement.

Leone sent threatening messages from his Twitter account, about his desire to "burn down" Bungie's offices and declaring certain Bungie employees were "not safe" as he intended to move to their neighbourhood - including community manager Dylan Gafner.

Sony Interactive Entertainment's motion to dismiss an antitrust class action over allegations of making the PlayStation Store a monopoly has been granted.

Bloomberg Law reports Judge Richard Seeborg of the Northern District of California dismissed the case on Friday, saying the plaintiffs has failed to prove Sony violated the Sherman Act's rules on anti-competitive practices.

The case was filed last year by a group of consumers following Sony's decision in 2019 to no longer sell codes for digital games through third-party stores, instead focusing all download sales on its own PlayStation Store.

There had been rumblings amongst the gaming community that Motion Twin's roguelike Dead Cells was coming to the end of its lifespan. Thankfully, this is not the case. Rather, the developer has released a new roadmap for the game that covers the rest of this year, and into 2023.

So, what can you expect to see heading your way? Well, for summer 2022, Dead Cells players should see the arrival of "the long awaited panchaku" as well as a new "flame head outfit based on our beloved animated trailers". There will also be some rebalancing for various weapons and other items, but most endearingly you will soon be able to "pet the pets".

Following this, autumn will see a new Boss Rush area enter the game. As with boss rush modes from other games (looking at you Metroid Dread), this area will let you test your metal against a series of Dead Cell's bosses one after the other. As you progress, you will unlock new items to help you on your way.

PlatinumGames has hired Takao Yamane, the former Managing Director of Nintendo of Europe, as the company's new Chief Business Officer. In a teaser video for an upcoming interview with Famitsu magazine, Yamane noted that his joining would mark a "significant" change for PlatinumGames. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Yamane is a popular figure within the Japanese video game industry. Before joining PlatinumGames, Yamane worked at Nintendo for over 27 years, holding various high-level positions during his tenure. This included serving as Vice President of Nintendo France until 2007, as well as Managing Director of Sales at Nintendo of Europe for 18 years.

When asked why he decided to join PlatinumGames, Yamane stated that he felt required in order for Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba "to make their dreams become reality." In the teaser video, Yamane gave Project GG, a project PlatinumGames originally teased in 2020, as an example. Furthermore, Yamane noted that the game was "incredible," with Kamiya hinting at some sort of new direction for the company's creative projects.

Following from its release on PlayStation, Xbox and PC last year, publisher Microids has announced that Oddworld: Soulstorm is coming to Switch. Specially 'oddtimised' to run on the Switch's hardware, the game follows series protagonist Abe after the events of Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty.

Although the release date hasn't been announced yet, preorders are now open for the physical Limited and Collector's Odditions, the latter of which includes an exclusive nine-inch figurine of Abe and a 160-page artbook. Any pre-orders from participating retailers of the Limited or Collector's Odditions will also include the game's OST and a digital artbook. Sounds like some tasty goodies for any Oddworld fans.

In our Oddworld: Soulstorm review, Christian Donlan felt the game's magical moments and brutal setting were well worth the few rough edges. My daughter's recently started playing Mini Motorways. It's delightful stuff, and it makes me see her afresh. It's fun to come downstairs and see her positioned before the TV, rigid and serious, frowning at a seemingly intractable junction or off-ramp, before pouncing on the solution, her mind disappearing back into the emerging cityscape as she goes.

This is how Mini Motorways is played. This is a city-building puzzler that may also be one of the most aesthetically refined games ever made: flat colour and pleasing abstractions of the modern world, its concrete and metal, its curtain-walling and internal combustion. You play by connecting businesses of a certain colour to houses of the same colour, without causing traffic jams and snarl ups as houses and businesses of different colours start to appear too. First revealed in March by streaming platform Netflix, we finally have a release date for the upcoming video game-inspired anime, Tekken: Bloodline. As the latest trailer shows, fans will be able to enjoy the rise of Jin Kazama and a host of other familiar characters this August 18.

From his mother’s death at the hands of Ogre to training under the guidance of Heihachi Mishima in order to get stronger to exact his revenge, Jin’s journey will see viewers meet the likes of Nina Williams, Ling Xiaoyu, Paul, Leroy, and of course, Kazuya Mishima in the King of Iron First Tournament. The trailer also gives us a closer look at the style that the anime will take on.

“‘Power is everything.’ Jin Kazama learned the family self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age. Yoda holds a special place in the hearts of Star Wars fans, in part thanks to Frank Oz’s fantastic performance. From his green skin to a seemingly powerful connection to the Force, Yoda has always been an enigma. And, by extension, Grogu. It isn’t so much they’re aliens—Star Wars is science-fiction, after all—but rather how their species is classified. If there’s a scientific name for Yoda and Grogu’s species, what is it?

What Kind of Species Are Yoda and Grogu?

Unfortunately, the kind of species Yoda and Grogu are is unknown, though the Star Wars community simply refers to them as “Yoda’s species.” Alternatively, Yoda and Grogu can be described as “tridactyls,” due to having three fingers and three toes.

To be fair, that isn’t surprising. Yoda first appeared in the original Star Wars trilogy, simultaneously being the first representation of his kind. And before Grogu had a name, he was simply referred to as “Baby Yoda.” They’re not the only examples though. Before Grogu, there was:

Roblox has confirmed some of its internal documents were illegally obtained by an unknown third party as part of an extortion scheme.

Vice reports it has reviewed the cache of stolen documents, which appeared to have been taken from a Roblox employee, and included personal information of the users who created some of the most popular games on the platform.

Around 4GB of documents were released, with a selection of images posted on a forum. These included email addresses and identification documents related to these creators.

NetEase is opening a new studio, Jar of Sparks, led by former Halo Infinite head of design Jerry Hook.

Hook spent over three years at 343 Industries, having previously worked at Bungie for almost four years as business director for the Destiny franchise.

He also spent 11 years at Microsoft, most recently as executive producer. During his time at the company, Hook helped launch the original Xbox and was a founding member of Xbox Live, NetEase said.

Stray, a cyberpunk adventure game about a lost cat, releases this week, and publisher Annapurna Interactive is hosting a free event at a cat cafe in New York City to celebrate.

Cat Cafe Meow Parlour will have a pop-up this upcoming weekend to kick off the launch of Stray. The pop-up will last from Friday, July 22 through Sunday, July 24; visitors can book 20-minute appointments to play Stray while in the company of real adoptable cats.

In addition to playing the game and playing with the cats, there will be free boba drinks from Boba Guys, limited edition Stray shirts for sale, and Stray sticker and button giveaways.

Advanced reservations must be booked through the cat cafe’s website, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination, as well as masks, are required for all guests. Up to five guests can share a single reservation.

When visiting the subscription section of Sony’s website, each option features a ‘7-day trial’, including an extensive collection of games (like Stray) and a chance to participate in online multiplayer.

If one trailer a day of Soul Hackers 2 was not enough, today Atlus released another extensive one, providing a deeper look at the gameplay features of the upcoming JRPG.

The first segment is dedicated to the safe house and meals. In the safe house, you can receive some of the items purchased by DLC, on top of having meals with your friends after purchasing them at various stores.

Since meals increase various stats, it’s a good idea to have a meal to prepare before facing a dungeon.

The second segment focuses on stores, providing an extensive look at the various establishments where we can purchase goods and services.

The third segment shows off the new game plus, which lets you choose which elements you want to carry over into the next playthrough.

On top of that, certain personal events happen only after clearing the game once, while certain requests to face stronger enemies will also appear.

You can also select the level of difficulty between easy, normal, and hard, while “very hard” will be added with a free DLC.

Speaking of DLC, some have been revealed at the end of the video, alongside the opening of pre-orders on Steam and the PC system requirements.

Today Atlus has released another of its inevitable daily trailers of the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei spin-off JRPG Soul Hackers 2.

The video goes back to showing another Sabbath, which is a special attack that can be unleashed under certain conditions, letting a bunch of your demons deal damage at once.

Specifically, we take a look at Anubis, Suzaku, Unicorn, Tsuchigumo, Valkyrie, Throne, Black Frost, Hare of Inaba, Shiisaa, Vasuki, and more.

At the end of the video, there’s also the usual horoscope. Like the other videos in which a Sabbath is shown, most zodiac signs are depicted as lucky today, including Leo, Cancer, Aquarium, Sagittarius, Libra, Gemini, Capricorn, Taurus, Aries, Scorpio, Virgo, and Pisces.

Soul Hackers 2 launches for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC ( both on Steam and on the Windows Store) on August 26, just one day after the Japanese release on August 25.

Today Level Infinite and Hotta Studio revealed two new videos of the upcoming online RPG Tower of Fantasy.

The first provides a look at the exploration of the large open world set on planet Aida atop a motorcycle. We get to see a variety of environments, from country roads to beaches, passing by cities and ruins.

The second video provides a window on the game’s development and more specifically the character creation of Shirli, a relevant member of the upcoming game’s cast.

Interestingly, she’s the character who has gone through the most design changes among these available in the game. As such, the development team at Hotta Studio is particularly fond of her.

The video showcases her evolution through several stages and designs.
