This Dragon Ball Z Goku vs Majin Vegeta Wood Carving Is Awesome

2 years 10 months ago

Dragon Ball Z has a lot of legendary fights and rivalries, with most of them involving Goku. Of all of the villains Kakarot has faced, though, none measure up to the enemy/frenemy/friends relationship he has with Vegeta.

Ever since the first season of Dragon Ball Z, these two Saiyan warriors have either been fighting one another literally or fighting to best the other in the form of competitions, getting stronger, or defeating stronger opponents. Arguably the best of these – outside of maybe their first set of interactions – occurs when Vegeta turns into an antagonist again for the sake of power, becoming Majin Vegeta in the process.

The betrayal results in another epic storyline between the two, as Vegeta tries to prove he can best Kakarot even now. To commemorate this classic fight, Youtube channel Woodart Vietnam crafted an epic wood carving, which you can see below.

Kickstarter MMORPG Ashes of Creation Enters Alpha One Stage; New Trailer Shows Off What to Expect

2 years 10 months ago

Ashes of Creation launched a preview of its Alpha One build this past weekend and today it’s open to all testers and some content creators. To celebrate the occasion, developer Intrepid Studio also released a new trailer showing off a bit of what prospective Ashes of Creation players can expect.

I’m still playing through the Alpha One myself, and have a ways to go to really have a good feel for it. There’s not too much I can definitively say at the moment since it’s still in an incredibly early state and so much is subject to change. However, what I can say is that it feels surprisingly polished for an alpha, and appears to be holding up well so far. I haven’t run into any major technical problems. Twitch has a channel set up for it now if you wanted to get a look for it in action while you wait for an opportunity to play yourself.

If you’re looking to join the Alpha One you will need to meet one of the following criteria:

Mass Effect 2 Arrival’s Countdown Clock Ends With a Gruesome Vision

2 years 10 months ago

Mass Effect 2 has some pretty great DLC, featuring missions that let you explore the remains of your ship, commit a grand heist, and even find out the identity of The Shadow Broker. But while all of those are pretty awesome, there are few missions as imposing as Mass Effect 2 Arrival.

Almost as soon as you engage in this mission, you’ll arrive at a base that features a strange clock counting downwards over the door. When you ask one of the characters in Arrival about it, she states that the Reapers will arrive when the clock reaches zero.

Now, obviously, that sounds pretty scary, as the Reapers are the big bad of the series. However, there is a total of 48 hours to spare, so it isn’t too difficult to complete the mission in that time period, especially since it counts down in real-time.

Out of curiosity, one dedicated Youtuber, Synth, decided to see what happens when you wait the full time for the clock to go down. The results were creepy, as you can see in the video below.

Bloodborne PS1 Demake’s Father Gascoigne Boss Fight Looks Superb

2 years 10 months ago

The Bloodborne PS1 Demake project impressed us here at Twinfinite when we first discovered its development last year, but Lilith Walther and her team have been hard at work for much longer than that — since way back in 2017, in fact. Today, she’s released work-in-progress footage of the Father Gascoigne boss fight, which has apparently been a long time in the making.

It appears to run superbly well, appearing every bit the like-for-like demake with animations and the same fluidity of combat as original but reimagined in the gloriously blocky low-poly graphics of a PS1 game.

Walther explains via the YouTube video description that “the level also has some new additions, like the clocktower + its bell tolling and the green lighting which was common in the leaked Project Beast footage,” the latter of which was added in because she felt it appeared more retro the original game’s pale blue/monochrome lighting.

If you’re a fan of the suitably retro music, credit for that goes to TheNobleDemon. Apparently, Walther worked with her to integrate it into the game’s bass code to ensure everything triggers at the correct time.

Walther explains that not everything is perfect, though — the attack animation count for each of the three forms needs to be higher, and other details such as the fog wall and animation transitions need to be added/tweaked moving forward. You can follow her Twitter for regular project updates.

In the meantime, check out the boss fight for yourself below.

Deadpool & Korg Promote Free Guy With a Hilarious Reaction Video

2 years 10 months ago

Deadpool is one step closer to forcing his adult humor into the MCU, as a video that shows the Merc With a Mouth reacting to the trailer for the upcoming release of Fall Guy was posted to Ryan Reynolds’ Youtube channel. What does that have to do with the MCU? Well, he is joined by none other than everyone’s favorite rock warrior Korg.

As you can see below, the video starts off with the two bantering, with Deadpool mocking both Korg, Fall Guys, and even his own film, Deadpool 2, with his typical sarcastic brand of humor.

The entire video is hilarious, especially when you put together that the person who voices Korg, Taika Waititi, is also the villain of Fall Guys. Finding that out helps make this odd couple pairing make a lot more sense in hindsight, with each actor serving as the two most important roles in the upcoming film.

The clip ends with Deadpool asking Korg for tips to get into the MCU, which leads the former Sakaar prisoner to monologue about hitting your lowest point and then checking your email for something from Marvel.

What did you think of the reaction? Do you think this means Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool is one step closer to making his way into the MCU? Be sure to let us know in the comment section below.

Demon Slayer Season 2 Key Visual Boasts Maximum Flamboyance

2 years 10 months ago

Ever since debuting in 2019, Demon Slayer has taken the entertainment world by storm. On top of an impressive debut season that captivated audiences, the movie adaptation of the Mugen Train arc has broken multiple records.

Hot off the heels of the movie’s success, Aniplex recently released an English-subtitled trailer for season 2 of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime. While the trailer only showed off a few scenes for the upcoming Entertainment District arc, it was more than enough to get fans excited.

To keep that hype train going, a key visual was released that featured all of the important and supporting characters that will play a role in this season. Obviously, characters like Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu are present, but they aren’t actually at the forefront of the poster. Instead, Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui is center stage.

Only Hardcore Fans Can Name These Horror Movie Icons

2 years 10 months ago

When it comes to movies, it’s fair to say that the heroes often take up the bulk of the limelight. However, with TV shows like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and movies like Maleficent and Joker breaking into the pop culture zeitgeist, it’s clear that modern audiences are just as fascinated with the baddies as the white knight heroes. Much like our recent trivia quiz on Video Game Villains, we’ve compiled a list of classic horror movie antagonists for you to try and identify. The rub? You’ll only have a single picture to help you. Thankfully, not only do they say a picture speaks a thousand words, but we all know that the picture rounds in quizzes are the funnest rounds of all, right? In other words, this shouldn’t prove too challenging for all you gore-hounds out there!

So, without further ado, sharpen up those kitchen knives, rev up those chainsaws and don your blood-splattered hockey masks as we take a trip through some of the most iconic horror movie villains ever conceived. Good luck!

Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation Reveals New Girl Elise

2 years 10 months ago

Koei Tecmo introduced a new girl to its endlessly-growing free-to-play game Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation.

Her name is Elise and she defines herself as a “leader.” Apparently, she has come to the island to straighten the lazy owners’ backs and turn them into efficient administrators.

She is 22, 168 cm tall, sized B94, W58, H90, blood-type A, and her hobbies are collecting stationeries and achieving new qualifications. Basically, she’s a natural-born workaholic. Her birthday is on September 3 and she is voiced by Asami Seto.

You may know her as Saint Louis and Sovetskaya Belorussiya in Azur Lane, Sonia Blanche in Shining Resonance, Wildbell in the Atelier Dusk series,  Raphtalia in The Rising of the Shield Hero, Mirage Farina Jenius in Macross Delta, and many more roles.

You can check her out in the video below.

Do keep in mind that Elise’s introduction doesn’t mean that you can unlock her immediately unless you’re willing to pay cold hard cash for the opportunity.

The new character is already available exclusively via a paid gacha. While the SSR rate is the usual 1.10%, Koei Tecmo pretty much cheats by throwing in a bunch of unrelated SSR outfits reducing the percentage to a ridiculously low 0.78% to actually get Elise. She likely won’t be available in non-paid gacha for several months.

Super Robot Wars 30’s Western Release for PC Officially Confirmed by Bandai Namco

2 years 10 months ago

As hinted yesterday by the opening of the Steam page of Super Robot Wars 30, today Bandai Namco confirmed that it is indeed coming west.

The game will launch in North America and Europe day and date with the Japanese launch on August 28 for PC via Steam. Apparently, the PS4 and Switch versions aren’t coming west (but you can still import them from South East Asia if you prefer playing on consoles with English subtitles). Pre-purchase is already available on Valve’s storefront.

This is a rather relevant moment for those who enjoy the Super Robot Wars series as it’s the first time a mainline game is launched in the west.

The Original Generation spin-off series (which comes with its own original characters and robots, bypassing any licensing issue) had already debuted in the west with its first two games on the Game Boy Advance, but this si the first time that we get the “real thing” with all of its crossover goodness between mecha anime series from our youth and more modern ones.

Below you can check out the debut trailer and a few screenshots.

Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection Finally Gets Some Graphics Options on PC

2 years 10 months ago

The Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection was released for PC and consoles last month, and while its performance on consoles has been just fine, the PC experience has been rather lacking, to say the least. There were no options whatsoever to tweak the game’s graphics or resolution settings; you just had to make do with what the game gave you.

Thankfully, Koei Tecmo has since pushed out a patch via Steam to rectify that issue. After downloading and installing the patch, PC players will now be able to play around with the following graphics options:

  • Display Mode
  • Resolution
  • Vsync
  • Triple Buffering
  • Anti-Aliasing
  • Depth of Field
  • Display Shadows

These might seem like pretty basic options that any PC game should have, but considering that Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection launched without them, this is a big upgrade for those playing on PC.

The post Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection Finally Gets Some Graphics Options on PC appeared first on Twinfinite.

Mecha Strategy JRPG Relayer for PS5 & PS4 Is Going To Be a Big Game; Post-Story Content Teased

2 years 10 months ago

Kadokawa Games is continuing to unveil new details about the upcoming mecha strategy JRPG Relayer.

Today we hear directly from director and producer Yoshimi Yasuda that the game is going to be a rather big experience.

Yasuda-san mentions that the developers are working on a post-campaign challenge mode similar to the Labyrinth of Yomi in their previous game, God Wars.

He also explains that there are four modes of play: the main scenario campaign takes an estimated 40 hours to complete. Developing characters in the battle simulator can take 20 additional hours. Playing the post-story content mentioned above can take another 40 hours, and then you can enjoy the “Lap Play” (which is the way Japanese gamers describe New Game+ type of gameplay, even if no info was provided on what it will entail specifically).

Super Robot Wars 30 Steam Page Possibly Hints to Worldwide Release; New Screenshots Shared

2 years 10 months ago

Today Bandai Namco opened the official Steam listing of the upcoming Super Robot Wars 30.

While we already knew that an English localization would be available, the Steam page offers new hope to those who would like the game officially released worldwide (Thanks for the tip: Flareton).

Not only the Steam Page is fully unlocked to all regions, but it includes a trailer with ESRB and PEGI ratings depending on where you watch it from.

Normally, Bandai Namco releases coming exclusively for Japan and Asia have geolocked Steam pages inaccessible from North America and Europe and most definitely don’t include western rating logos in their trailers.

Lastly, pricing in western currency is also available. The Standard Edition is priced at $59.99/49,99€, the Deluxe Edition is priced at $84.99/74,99€, and the Ultimate Edition is priced at $104.99/94,99€. Pre-purchase is already available.

You can see what I mean below, alongside a new gallery of screenshots.

Do keep in mind that Bandai Namco has made no official announcement, so we should wait for an official confirmation before we celebrate.

It’s also worth mentioning that, even assuming that a worldwide release is confirmed, the game may not come west for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays was launched worldwide as well, but only on Steam.

We reached out to Bandai Namco inquiring about this and we’ll keep you updated if we receive a relevant answer.

The release date is, as previously announced, August 28.

Company of Heroes 3 Revealed in New Cinematic Trailer Alongside Extended Look at Gameplay

2 years 10 months ago

Today IGN, Sega, and Relic Games partnered up to reveal Company of Heroes 3, the latest installment in the long-running and popular WWII RTS series.

The cinematic trailer sets the mood for the game’s campaign but is light on actual gameplay footage. Fortunately, IGN also live-streamed an extended look at the game of Company of Heroes 3 along with bits of developer commentary.

Company of Heroes 3 will take place in the Mediterranean, a move that Relic Games says is in response to player feedback. Confirmed factions so far include British and American forces.

In addition to familiar mechanics such as flanking and cover, Company of Heroes will add a new breach mechanic which will allow players to get at garrisoned enemy troops in buildings.

Italy will be a core location in Company of Heroes 3 where verticality, true sight, and having the high ground, will be a major gameplay consideration according to the developers.

Other new features include full Navy support, return of PvP, and a single-player-only Tactical Pause, that will allow players to stop the game and relay orders to units; kind of like what was used in Final Fantasy VII Remake if you’re familiar with that.

Final Fantasy XI Fan Releases a Retro RPG Demake of Square Enix’s First MMO

2 years 10 months ago

Final Fantasy XI has seen a bit of resurgence as of late. There’s no clear reason why. Maybe it’s a bit of Final Fantasy XIV magic trickling down onto Square Enix’s first foray into the MMORPG space. Or perhaps it’s just old-school MMO fans coming home and wanting a more classic experience.

In either event, there have been lots of exciting Final Fantasy XI developments as of late, and here’s another for fans to sink their teeth into. A fan by the name of mithrandir133 has created a retro-style RPG, set in the world of Final Fantasy XI.

Called Final Fantasy XI Braver, the game boasts 30 to 50 hours of SNES-style RPG gameplay. It’s not an MMORPG, and it follows its own story rather than the story of Finial Fantasy XI proper. It’s entirely single-player and you’ll run into familiar faces from the MMORPG.

Final Fantasy XI Braver is entirely free to play, and also has other elements familiar to fans of Final Fantasy XI such as skillchains, magic bursts, crafting, mining, and a class system reminiscent of that of the MMORPG.

If you wanted to give it a try, the download link is right here.

Disney & Pixar’s Turning Red Teases Adorable Coming-Of-Age Fun

2 years 10 months ago

Today, Disney and Pixar officially lifted the curtain on their all-new animated feature film, Turning Red.

Following on from the success of their last coming-of-age adventure, Luca, Turning Red is set to be another signature childhood romp that focuses upon the challenges that growing up often brings. Go ahead and check out the new teaser trailer down below:

Clearly, growing pains appear to be one of the central themes in Disney and Pixar’s upcoming Turning Red. After all, it looks like its 13-year-old protagonist, Mei Lee, not only faces the usual issues that school children of her age have to deal with, but she’ll also have to contend with a Jekyll And Hyde-like transform-into-a-big-panda problem as well. I mean, we’ve all been there, right?

Turning Red will be directed by Pixar Animation Studios’ director Domee Shi, who’s best known for her work on her 2018 short film, Bao, which went on to win an Oscar award for Best Animated Short Film.

Ghostwire: Tokyo Has Been Delayed to Early 2022

2 years 10 months ago

Tangowork’s Ghostwire: Tokyo won’t make its planned release window this year. The developer took to Twitter earlier today to announce that it has been delayed until “early” 2022 in order to give the studio enough time to “bring the world of Ghostwire to life” as the team “always envisioned.”

If you’re unfamiliar with Ghostwire Tokyo, it was first announced back in 2019 during Bethesda’s E3 press conference. It is set to tell the tale of people mysteriously disappearing in Tokyo city. Here’s the official story description:

“GhostWire: Tokyo, a new action-adventure game brought to you by the team at Tango Gameworks.

After strange disappearances hit Tokyo’s population, it’s up to you to uncover the source and purge the city of a strange, new evil. Armed with your own mysterious spectral abilities, you will face down the occult, unravel conspiracy theories and experience urban legends like never before. Don’t fear the unknown. Attack it.”

Pokemon Meme Shows What Is Really Happening In the Back of the Moving Truck

2 years 10 months ago

In most Pokemon games, your protagonists usually start out in their bedroom, allowing you to start your adventure from there. In Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, you actually begin inside the back of a moving truck.

A short conversation with your mother soon reveals that your character traveled the entire way in the back of the moving truck on the way to your new home in Hoenn. At first, it is easy to shrug this off, as you want to get along with your adventure.

The more you think about this situation, though, the more absurd it sounds. Seriously, that would be the most uncomfortable ride ever. To demonstrate why, one Redditor recently went out of their way to animate what it would look like if your character actually did ride all the way back to their new house in the back of a moving truck.
