Challenging Investigation Thriller Murder Mystery Machine Is Out Now

2 years 8 months ago

The Ship developer Blazing Griffin Games today released a launch trailer for Murder Mystery Machine, their latest detective-’em-up mystery thriller.

With an emphasis on player choice, you take the role of detective Cassandra Clarke, a rookie cop at the District Crime Agency. Playing out as an isometric point-and-click, it’s up to you to search crime scenes, put together evidence, question suspects, and figure out the culprit (or culprits) in a series of cases. The game promises “engaging deduction mechanics,” where you’ll have to find evidence and put the pieces together yourself – “no hand-holding,” as the old saying goes.

You can check out the launch trailer below:

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Will Contain Over 10,000 Cards

2 years 8 months ago

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel was revealed just a few short months ago, and now, Konami has released a teaser trailer for the game during this week’s Gamescom events.

The trailer gave us quick looks at some gameplay that portrays the original Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG/TCG while mentioning that over 10,000 cards will be available in the game. That’s a staggering number, and these Monsters, Spells, Traps, and more will come from all across the history of the franchise.

However, some will only be available during events or through in-game purchases. That isn’t too surprising though, since Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is a free-to-play game.

You can have a look at some of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel gameplay that was shown off in the teaser trailer below:

There is still no release date or release window for the game just yet, but it will be coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Switch, Android, and iOS.

Basically, nearly anyone should be able to get their hands on the game and play it on whichever platform they wish. But it should be noted that those who choose to play on next-gen consoles will have access to 4K resolution support for the game.

Little Nightmares II Enhanced Edition Brings Ray Tracing, 4K, 60 FPS, & More to Consoles & PC

2 years 8 months ago

Little Nightmares II has been playable on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC since its launch earlier this year, but it’s only today that a new Enhanced Edition upgrade will offer a higher level performance to match the platform. It is available today to download across all platforms.

The free upgrade adds the following graphical features to the experience:

Ray-Traced Reflections let you see live reflections in shiny surfaces throughout the game, like the cold, damp tiles of the Hospital wards or the dull glass of a deactivated TV.

Improved Volumetric Shadows add even more depth and detail to every object and enhance how rays of light are interrupted by moving objects, like the Hunter ripping away at his prey in front of his boarded-up workshop window or the Doctor tending to his patients under a swinging ceiling lamp.

Interactive Particles dance and swirl realistically through the air as characters move through a scene. It’s so evocative you might almost feel the need to sneeze when landing on a dusty rug in the attic or flinch when motes of burning ash spills through a furnace vent.

Immersive Audio wraps you in a three-dimensional soundscape if you’re using 5.1 or 7.1 speakers or headphones. You’ll hear each echoing swat of the Teacher’s ruler getting closer and closer as you creep through the School’s air ducts and track the clatter of hordes of Patients as they snatch at you from the dark.

Console players will have two performance modes to choose from, one offering 4k, 30 fps gameplay, while the other locks the framerate at 60 fps at a dynamic resolution up to 4k. PC players will be able to adjust each individually.

A new trailer today offers a lengthy look at the new performance with a 36-minute playthrough of the Hospital section.

Monster Hunter Rise Is Getting Akuma From Street Fighter This Week

2 years 8 months ago

Monster Hunter Rise is getting more free DLC with Akuma from Street Fighter on Capcom Collab 3 as an Event Quest Reward this week on Aug. 27, according to Capcom. By completing the quest, players will be able to get a layered armor that will make your hunter look like Akuma in its Street Fighter 5 attire. Also, it will change your hunter’s voice to match its looks.

If you equip a Sword and Shield combo, your regular attacks will change into punches and kicks, with some usual special moves from Akuma. Normal Kunai attacks from Monster Hunter Rise will become Gohadokens or Zanku Hadokens, depending on if your character is on land or airborne, respectively.

Players who get to perform a Perfect Rush combo with Silkbind Attacks will unleash even more powerful Akuma moves like the Goshoryuken and the Tatsumaki Zankukyaku. Obviously, when you strike your Monster Hunter pose, you get the classic Akuma pose, turning his back on the screen with the “Demon” kanji bright on his back.

Chernobylite’s Console Release Has Been Delayed

2 years 8 months ago

Chernobylite’s console release has been delayed “due to unforeseen issues” from its original Sept. 7 launch date to a few weeks later on Sept. 28.

All In! Games CEO Piotr Zygadlo explained in a press release:

“We at All in! Games pride ourselves in setting high standards for all our releases and are pleased with the games that we have published this year. Incidentally, due to some unforeseen issues with the console build, we decided to slightly delay the launch of Chernobylite until it gets resolved. We want to make sure we always deliver projects that are in excellent shape and pushing Chernobylite‘s console release date back a few weeks will allow us to accomplish that. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we take the time to get this right.”

The Farm 51 development director Wojciech Pazdur also weighed in:

“Chernobylite has been a labor of love and we are humbled by the reception we have gotten so far from both players and critics. We have complete trust that the All in! Games team is doing everything in their power to successfully bring Chernobylite to our fans on console. While the delay is unfortunate, it’s also entirely necessary to live up to everyone’s expectations.”

In the meantime, a new accolades trailer based on the PC version’s critical reception, released in tandem with today’s announcement, is presumably designed to remind players why it will be worth the wait:

FFXIV’s Aether Data Center Reaches Maximum Capacity; Congestion Solutions in the Works

2 years 8 months ago

Final Fantasy XIV is one of the best and most popular MMORPGs out in the market right now, so it comes as no surprise at all that it also enjoys a very large player base. However, with such a huge community, this also means that its servers are suffering from congestion and long queue times for players trying to log in. This problem will likely also worsen when the new Endwalker expansion launches in November.

In response to the increased congestion, especially in servers in the Aether data center, Square Enix has just announced that they will no longer be allowing the creation of new characters in any of the Aether servers for the time being. To allow for more new characters would result in “login queues taking up to several hours,” which is why they’ve closed it off for now.

Producer Naoki Yoshida also stated that they were currently working on various solutions to help ease up congestion, such as expanding the data centers or adding new servers. But even that comes with its complications.

“As previously mentioned, however, there is an ongoing global shortage and increased demand for semiconductors, and quite frankly, we are still struggling to source the required equipment. Additionally, the recent resurgence of COVID-19 cases in Japan has raised major concerns regarding our ability to travel overseas for on-site implementations. These setbacks have made it difficult for us to cut down on the time required for implementation.
Considering the current situation, we will likely require more time in implementing our large-scale solutions. The circumstances surrounding our infrastructure are far from ideal, but I promise that we will continue to persevere in implementing any solutions we can!”

Second Season 10 Arenas Flash Event Has Started in Apex Legends

2 years 8 months ago

We’re onto the fourth week of the tenth season of Apex Legends and the second Arenas Flash Event has started up. Just like the last time, players must complete a series of daily Arenas challenges to progress a varied prize tracker with stars and blue Apex Packs.

For the most part, everything is the same, but will still run it down here just in case you weren’t around or didn’t care when the first Arenas Flash Event popped.

The Flash Event challenges are (with point rewards as they are on August 24, but this is subject to change per day):

  • Play 2 matches in Arenas for 200 points (second tier is 5 matches for another 100 points)
  • Get 10 knockdowns in Arenas for 200 points (second tier is 20 knockdowns for another 100 points)
  • Deal 2000 damage in Arenas for 200 points (second tier is 5000 damage for another 100 points)
  • Win 5 rounds of Arenas for 100 points
  • Win 1 match of Arenas for 100 points

For a grand total of 1100 points. Which is different than the usual 1000 a day on the other events in Apex Legends.

The Flash Event prize tracker is also the same this time around and this is what you can earn:

  • 25 Crafting Materials
  • 10 Battle Pass Stars
  • 3 Battle Pass Stars
  • 10 Battle Pass Stars
  • 3 Battle Pass Stars
  • 1 Apex Pack
  • 3 Battle Pass Stars
  • 3 Battle Pass Stars
  • 1 Apex Pack

While the crafting materials is a little underwhelming, the 3 battle pass levels worth of stars is nice.

Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song- Pilot Movie Gets Released & It’s Stunning

2 years 8 months ago

If you haven’t watched Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song- yet, then you’re missing out on one of the most exciting anime of the entire year. The plot centers around an android that must stop a coming war between machines and humans with the help of a time-traveling AI. The resulting story features amazing fight scenes and brilliant scenery that anime fans loved.

Before the show ever became a realized anime, though, WIT Studio came up with a pilot movie to showcase what Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song- would look like. The first mention of this pilot came during a roundtable discussion that was published on the anime’s website.

In that discussion, music composer Satoru Kōsaki was mentioned to have “started off by composing a song for the pilot film.” Today, WIT Studio released that movie, though it features instrumental music instead of a ballad.

Boyfriend Dungeon Review – Oh No, They Are Hot

2 years 8 months ago

Boyfriend Dungeon on PC

As a huge fan of games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, I’ve always been a sucker for a game that can combine relationships and combat to make for an action-packed experience. That is exactly why I was so excited for Boyfriend Dungeon to release.

As the title dictates, Boyfriend Dungeon revolves around having players build up relationships (Romantic or Platonic) with numerous characters while also traversing dangerous dungeons, which are called Dunjs. The catch is that in this world, people have the ability to turn into weapons themselves, thus allowing you to wield and date your weapons.

While it sounds like a strange concept, making people into weapons is rather brilliant, as it allows your character more time to build your relationship while also adding in a bit of action. The more you fight with weapons in the game, the stronger you each grow, unlocking new abilities along the way. In order to actually experience and develop these bonds, though, your character has to meet people.

As Boyfriend Dungeon starts, your character is introduced to a number of eligible singles, each of which contains their own unique personalities that are often reflected in their weapon form. A simple example of this is how Pocket the cat takes the form of Brass Knuckles that are like claws. Thanks to this, there are a number of different weapon variations that specialize in everything from long-ranged attacks to chain damage that incentivizes trying out new characters.

Microsoft Flight Simulator “Shattering Franchise Records;” Germany World Update Showcased in Extensive Video

2 years 8 months ago

Today, during the Gamescom 2021 Xbox Livestream, Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann talked about the reception for the console version.

Neumann explained that the reaction of Xbox gamers and the press has been very positive, and the simulator is breaking records.

“It went great. The reaction to the Xbox console launch was really just amazing both from Xbox gamers and from the press. They’ve been so gracious with their feedback. I don’t know if you know, Flight Simulator is one of the highest-rated games on Xbox this year, which I think is great validation that the translation of the simulation to the console has really worked well.

Our usage numbers are through the roof. We are absolutely shattering franchise records and I can tell you, there have never been more people playing Flight Simulator than right now. It’s an awesome time.”

On top of this, and of the news provided later in the stream, which included a look at the Junkers Ju-52, the Volocopter eVTOL air-taxi, and the expansion dedicated to the Reno Air Race, we also get an extensive video showcased what Germany will look like after the next World Update.

This is rather appropriate, considering that the event was part of Gamescom, which is usually hosted in Cologne, Germany.

Forza Horizon 5 Cover & First Eight Minutes of Gameplay Revealed

2 years 8 months ago

Earlier today during the Xbox Gamescom 2021 stream, a new Forza Horizon 5 trailer showed off the cover art for the game as well as the first few minutes of the game featuring a handful of incredible cars in the extremely diverse biomes of Mexico.

To start, a special Xbox Series controller was revealed with art inspired by Forza Horizon 5 and its setting in Mexico. The bright colors are reminiscent of the eye-catching colorful buildings scattered throughout the city of Guanajato.

But then right after that, they got into the big reveal of the day, the cover art and the vehicles which will be featured on the front of the game case. First up was the Mercedes AMG 1 with a striking red paint job. And digging through rough terrain in the background is none other than a couple of 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands.

But that’s not all there is to know about the Mercedes AMG 1. This will be the first vehicle in the history of Forza Horizon to feature F1 hybrid technology that can change the way the vehicle runs based upon whether you prefer smooth paved roads or if you want to go through some rougher courses.

Then, an incredible sequence showing off the first eight minutes of Forza Horizon 5 gameplay featured four different vehicles dropping out of cargo planes and multiple biomes. It all started out from the highest point on the map and raced all the way down to the main Horizon Festival center.

First, the Bronco dropped out of the cargo plane near the top of the volcano and rushed down the side of it with ease. There aren’t many other vehicles that can handle that rough terrain as easily as this massive SUV does.

Stray Blade Announced for Xbox Series X|S at Gamescom

2 years 8 months ago

Earlier today during the Xbox Gamescom 2021 stream, Stray Blade was announced for Xbox Series X|S. This action RPG has tons of weapons and is mainly focused on the combat and exploration sides of the game.

First, there was a short gameplay trailer showing off the combat in Stray Blade. There are a handful of different blades and hammers seen in the trailer and then it all wraps up with a look at one of those bosses in the game.

Then, there was a short section where the game’s director, Lenoad Kausch went into more detail on what Stray Blade is.

Kausch explained that the game is an action rpg that takes place in a wartorn land. And it’s the responsibility of the main character (a wandering rouge) to bring peace to this world in turmoil.

He also shared a handful of details about the weapon and combat systems. They’re both closely tied together since playstyles can grately differ based upon the combination of weapons used.

But the main idea is to quickly dodge enemy attacks and in an instant, counter. How this is done will depend upon what weapons you have equipped, but that will be the basic cycle of taking out enemies.

On top of that, there will be cities, caves, and canyons to explore.

Stray Blade is coming to Xbox Series X|S on 2022. You can check out the official trailer for Stray Blade down below.

State of Decay 2: Homecoming Update Adds Trumbull Valley Map

2 years 8 months ago

Developer Undead Labs has continued to support State of Decay 2 with a steady stream of updates since the game’s launch back in 2018, but the new Homecoming update might be its most significant yet. Coming next week, the free update adds a remastered version of the Trumbull Valley map from the original game, offering players a chance to move their communities to the new sandbox.

Another announcement worth noting was Undead Labs revealing that State of Decay 2: Juggernaught Edition passed a new milestone recently as 10 million lifetime players have now experienced the game since its launch last year.

A new trailer showcased today during Xbox’s Gamescom 2021 presentation offers a glimpse at some of the action to come, which you can check out below.

Twinfinite reviewed the original State of Decay 2 release back in 2018 and found it to be an entertaining but somewhat limited experience mired by technical woes, scoring the game 3.5/5 and concluding that “those able to look past the technical issues and sub-par visuals, there’s a great zombie survival game here.”

Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann confirmed the “Local Legends” series of aircraft that will begin with the Junkers Ju 52 which he had teased during our interview a few weeks ago. The series will celebrate legendary aircraft tied with the World Updates.

On top of that, we heard that the air taxi drone by Volocopter is coming in November, and the Reno Air Race expansion will come this fall, introducing competitive multiplayer to the simulator for the first time.

Bungie Announces Expansion That Will Conclude Light & Dark Saga, Destiny 2: The Final Shape; Game Will Continue On Afterwards

2 years 8 months ago

Today. during the jam-packed The Witch Queen live stream, Bungie also briefly spoke about another expansion, Destiny 2: The Final Shape.

The Final Shape will be the finale expansion in what Bungie has referred to as the Light & Dark Saga. It will follow Lightfall, which is currently presumed to release in 2023. So assuming that The Final Shape will follow the same pattern, it will likely drop in 2024. Destiny 2 ain’t going anywhere anytime soon folks, so get comfy with it.

Nothing else was announced about The Final Shape other than its existence, name, and that it will wrap up the Light & Dark saga.

Bungie did confirm that there’s a “beyond” after The Final Shape. What it sounds like to me, is that post-Light vs. Dark world in Destiny 2 will play out similar to what’s going on in Final Fantasy XIV with Endwalker.

While Final Fantasy XIV is putting an end to a long-running story saga, the game itself is not ending and the developers will just push the narrative in a completely different direction, telling new stories completely unrelated to the previous ones, and still add new content.

Either way, there’s still lots of Destiny 2 content to come. Check out our full breakdown of The Witch Queen reveal right here if you haven’t already to catch up on all of it.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human Trailer Shows off Brutal & Creative Combat

2 years 8 months ago

Today, at the Xbox Gamescom 2021 event, Techland showed off a brand new gameplay trailer for their upcoming sequel, Dying Light Stay Human 2. In the video below, you’ll see a lot of unique things, including knight-like human enemies that look like they were pulled straight from the dark ages.

Unsurprisingly, Dying Light 2 Stay Human’s gameplay focused heavily on being creative and using parkour. The video shows the main character, swinging from vines and even using a zombie to break your fall from a multi-story building fall.

After the trailer, the developers stated that Dying Light 2 Stay Human would also feature much taller buildings that would challenge players to use their parkour skills to reach new heights. They also stated that there will be far more combat with humans this time around, with the events of the game centering around the monsters that they’ve become in the 20 years since the events of the original.

Bungie 30th Anniversary Event Coming to Destiny 2 in December; Will Reintroduce D1 Exotic Gjallarhorn

2 years 8 months ago

Bungie announced today during the jam-packed news frenzy which was The Witch Queen reveal stream that they will be holding a big 30th-anniversary event that will include a celebration within Destiny 2.

For Destiny 2 players, the highlights will be two new activities that will be added when the event begins sometime in December.

There will be a six-player event added known as Dares of Eternity. Not much was shared about that one.

However, there will also be a three-player activity that will take place in an infamous Destiny 1 location… the Loot Cave! This small little cave was initially a place where players exploited a bug in the enemy spawning system to endlessly grind loot early in Destiny 1. It was fixed, but it quickly became a place of legend and Bungie has often made in-game references and jokes about it.

During the 30th anniversary event in Destiny 2, though, it will become an area that players can probe deeper into and explore. It will feature a new Thorn-themed armor set, the return of new popular Destiny 1 legendaries: 1000-Yard Stare and Eyasluna, and of course the main course: the return of the most powerful gun in Destiny 1 history: Gjallarhorn.

Yes, in spite of being reluctant to re-add Gjallarhorn into Destiny 2 over the years because of how powerful it was in the first game, Bungie finally feels comfortable adding it into the game. It’s not known exactly yet how you will be able to get this weapon, but rest assured, it’s on the way.

In addition to all of that, there will also be other Bungie-themed items added to Destiny 2 such as the Claymore Sword from Myth, Ornaments based on Marathon, and other Bungie apparel, and some new real-world goodies added to the Bungie store.

Destiny 2 Witch Queen Revealed as Savanthun Steps Into the Spotlight With Light-Wielding Hive Guardians; Season of the Lost Detailed

2 years 8 months ago

After many, many years of teasing the expansion that will usher in the Savathun-era of Destiny 2, The Witch Queen, has finally been formally revealed. The new trailer, alongside the news-packed live stream, shed a decent amount of “light” on the upcoming expansion.

Let’s jump right into the plot since, well, Bungie didn’t pull any punches explaining it. All that time spent in her Throne Room after the events of The Taken King was clearly time well spent as she has developed the ability to create Hive Ghosts and Hive Guardians that are capable of wielding the Light. Yep, we’ll be going up against Void, Solar, and Arc Light-wielding Hive Knights, Witches, and more when The Witch Queen releases in 2022, likely in late February as that is when the Season of the Lost will end.

Fortunately, the Guardians will have new tools at their disposal as well. We don’t know the new Darkness subclass yet, but we do know about a new weapon archetype, the spear-like Glaive. The Glaive will be a first-person melee energy weapon that can not only perform melee combos but has a mid-range energy blast.

Square Enix Reveals Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster Release Date

2 years 8 months ago

Square Enix has confirmed the release date for the next game in its series of six Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster titles. Final Fantasy IV will release on Steam and mobile devices on Sept. 8, 2021.

Final Fantasy IV originally debuted on the Super Nintendo in 1991, though then-titled Final Fantasy II for the West due to various Final Fantasy games having been skipped over for localization at the time.

The story follows Cecil Harvey, a dark knight of the kingdom of Baron and Red Wings airship captain, whose allegiance to the kingdom becomes strained due to his orders to attack nearby towns and villages. Bringing the fight to Baron and eventually needing to acquire crystals on his quest, Cecil is joined by an expansive cast of characters, such as his best friend Kain the dragoon, Rosa the white mage, and Rydia the summoner.

Square Enix provided a feature list of new additions in the Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster:

Universally updated 2D pixel graphics redrawn for modern hardware, featuring iconic FINAL FANTASY character pixel designs created by the original artist and current collaborator, Kazuko Shibuya

Beautifully rearranged soundtracks, overseen by the original composer, Nobuo Uematsu

Improved gameplay, including updated controller controls, modernized UI, auto-battle options and more

Quality-of-life improvements including supplemental extras like the bestiary, illustration gallery, music player and the ability to save at any time.

4 Things You Probably Missed in the Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer

2 years 8 months ago

Department of Damage Control

Spiderman No Way Home DODC

It turns out that Peter isn’t talking to any ordinary police officers in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer scene where he’s handcuffed to a desk and talking about how he didn’t kill Mysterio. The man who makes a comment about the drones from Far From Home is actually with the Department of Damage Control, not the police. A “DODC” patch can be seen on his jacket.

The Department of Damage Control was seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming during one of the very first scenes. They speak to Adrian Toomes (AKA The Vulture) as he’s trying to salvage parts in the aftermath of the New York battle from the first Avengers movie.

Microsoft Flight Simuator F-35, Twin Otter, F-104, & Stockholm Bromma Airport Get New Videos & Screenshots

2 years 8 months ago

Third-party developers have released new videos and screenshots showcasing upcoming addons for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

First of all, we get a new and rather awesome video from IndiaFoxtEcho about the F-35 Lightning II.

On top of the video, we also get a development update.

“F-35 connoisseurs will notice that the animations during hovering are incorrect in the video… this is due to the replay software: rest assured animations are correct in-game (that is while in hover mode, flight control sufaces will not move and inner bay doors will deploy)

It is still WIP and there are a number of details to fix (although the general look of the aircraft and the ship is pretty much it)Speaking of the project, we have *almost* completed the 3D model of the F-35C (which WILL be included along with the A and and we will soon be able to (finally) show you the new cockpit model.

We are unsure about the repaints which we will include, as just the ones we consider “essential” are no less than 15, and can easily grow to 20. An alternate (lazy) option is to have only generic repaints (the ones shown in the trailer) and have the community to do the rest… in any case, repaint templates will be made available.

We are also working to get high-detail Cavour and Queen Elizabeth ships in the game… but the commercial meshes we have reviewed are not graphically consistent or technically adequate… so for the moment only USS America and USS Tripoli are confirmed.”

Specifically, the trailer focuses on the game’s story, which has been a bit of a mystery up until now. Go ahead and feast your eyes on the new story trailer down below:

As you can see, the trailer introduces us to Ed Miller, a writer with severe acrophobia who recently survived a car accident. We also get to meet Dr Julia Lomas, who is working closely with Ed to help him get over his intense fear of heights. How closely the game follows the film is still a bit of an enigma, though.
