Update: Ubisoft Reveals Full PS5, Xbox Series X Upgrade Plan

3 years 6 months ago

Update: Since the publication of this article, Ubisoft reached out to IGN to confirm that it has removed the Ubisoft Connect article specifically due to possible errors regarding PS5 backward-compatible games.

A Ubisoft spokesperson provided the following statement to IGN:

“We have pulled the Ubisoft Connect article and forum post re backwards compatibility for the time being as there may be inaccuracies involving the Ubisoft titles that will be playable on PS5.”

It is unclear at this time what the inaccuracies were, nor whether this means all or some of the titles previously listed as not working on PS5 will in fact be playable. IGN will update this story with any further announcements.

Original story follows:

[poilib element="accentDivider"]

Ubisoft has announced a slew of details regarding which of its games will receive cross-progression, next-gen upgrades, and backwards compatibility on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.

Like most of these types of announcements, it’s easy to get lost in the weeds on what game gets what feature (especially since messaging regarding cross-gen compatibility has been a confusing mess thus far), but we lay it all out for you below.

5 Very Different Reasons Games Were Delayed After Going Gold

3 years 6 months ago

CD Projekt Red recently delayed Cyberpunk 2077 for a third time, pushing the highly anticipated RPG from mid-November to December 10. Multiple delays for a game on this scale aren’t entirely unusual, especially in the case of Cyberpunk, which is being developed simultaneously for nine different platforms. What is unusual about this latest delay, however, is the fact that Cyberpunk had already gone gold.

“Going gold” is the industry term for when a release build of a game passes certification and can be printed onto physical discs. It’s often taken as a sign of confidence that a game will no longer be delayed, as it initiates the process of printing, packaging, and shipping copies to retailers. But going gold does not often mean development is complete; developers spend the next month or so making last-minute tweaks and improvements that are added as day one patches. Though historically rare, developers can run into trouble during that window and are forced to make one last delay, or in some cases, pull the plug altogether.

In light of the Cyberpunk news, we’ve compiled a list of five other games that got delayed (or canceled) after going gold. Click through the gallery below or continue scrolling for the full list.

Metallic Asteroid Between Mars and Jupiter Has an Estimated Worth of $10,000 Quadrillion

3 years 6 months ago

A giant metallic asteroid worth approximately $10,000,000,000,000,000,000 -- more than the entire Earth’s economy -- is orbiting around Mars and Jupiter, according to a new report from the Planetary Science Journal, as reported by CBS News.

[caption id="attachment_243254" align="alignnone" width="720"]asteroid-16-psyche The massive asteroid 16 Psyche is the subject of a new study by SwRI scientist Tracy Becker, who observed the object at ultraviolet wavelengths.[/caption]

Asteroid 16 Psyche, as it’s known, is thought to possibly be the remnant of a planet core that never properly formed into an actual planet. While most asteroids are made of rock or ice, the incredibly dense Psyche is made mostly of metal, and measures about 140 miles in diameter, making it the size of Massachusetts.

The Planetary Science Journal’s new study has found that Psyche may be composed of iron and nickel, which are typically found in the cores of planets.

“We’ve seen meteorites that are mostly metal, but Psyche could be unique in that it might be an asteroid that is totally made of iron and nickel,” lead study author Dr. Tracy Becker said in a statement. “Earth has a metal core, a mantle and crust. It’s possible that as a Psyche protoplanet was forming, it was struck by another object in our solar system and lost its mantle and crust.”

Raven Co-Founder Talks Soldier of Fortune and its Then-Revolutionary Dismemberment System

3 years 6 months ago
Raven Software co-founder Brian Raffel has revealed details about working with Soldier of Fortune consultant John Mullins and creating the first limb dismemberment system in video games. IGN's Ryan McCaffrey sat down with Raffel to discuss Raven Software's broad history in the latest episode of IGN Unfiltered, along with discussions on Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Hexen, Heretic, Soldier of Fortune, and more. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/1999/07/21/soldier-of-fortune-pc-games-gameplay"] Soldier of Fortune is a military shooter based on the popular real-world magazine of the same name and was built on the Quake 2 engine. It was perhaps most notable for the GHOUL tech that allowed individual limb dismemberment for the first time in games, a mechanic which would go on to become relatively common in the shooter genre, and even become a central pillar of games like Dead Space. It was also used to create realistic lightsaber damage and limb severing in Raven's later game, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. Before beginning the discussion in earnest, Raffel revealed the motivation for the creation of the GHOUL system. "Let me just be clear: there was no goal to make this... to just make it super violent. The goal was, and this came from my brother, Steve... He's like 'Let's just make it as realistic as possible.' So that was the goal. And what is the most realistic thing? Instead of just shooting a body and having it just drop and fade away, we wanted to make it as realistic as possible, not for the sake of violence, but just for the sake of reality." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-campaign-screenshots&captions=true"] Raffel also commented on the first time he saw the tech in action. "I still remember the day, though, when we got the GHOUL system in. Of course, we saw the shooting of the limbs...

Genshin Impact's Plans for the Future - Developers Want to Tell a Years-Long Story

3 years 6 months ago
With Genshin Impact's first major update, 'A New Star Approaches', arriving on November 11, we naturally wanted to know what miHoYo has planned for its open world adventure beyond that - and discovered the developer is working to a years-long timescale, and how player behaviour will change where the game goes next. Speaking to IGN, producer and CEO Hugh Tsai, explained that 1.1 is all about "polishing off the Liyue story" that began at Genshin Impact's launch, "while also continuing to enrich and improve players' general experience in the game." As for what comes after that, Tsai explains that "The addition of Dragonspine in Version 1.2 will mark the first major map expansion since the game's release. New gameplay will also be added at that time, but we can't reveal any specific details on that just yet. Stay tuned!" We also know that version 1.3 will add the Lantern Rite Festival event. But what about the overall philosophy for additions to Genshin Impact? Well, it seems that how the game progresses, and the stories told along the way, are somewhat up to the players themselves: "Ultimately, how we will advance the Genshin Impact story is not set in stone. We will consider where players are up to in their journey through [the game world] Teyvat when planning out new content, and either advance the main story or add stand-alone stories on the side. The bottom line, though, is that whatever we do will focus on telling the story of the Traveler's journey through Teyvat." It's clear that the overall goal is to add all seven major regions of Teyvat. The game launched with two, and Dragonspine will mark the third, but it'll be some time before the entirety of the world will be open to players: "At present, our team is still very much focused on releasing and refining the content for Teyvat.

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update Details Revealed, Coming November

3 years 6 months ago
Genshin Impact's 1.1 content update, called 'A New Star Approaches', is coming to PC, Android, iOS and PS4 on November 11. The game will also be playable via backwards compatibility on PS5. IGN can reveal that the update will add four new playable characters (two of which are 5-star characters), a brand new series of quests, the game's first seasonal event, and a new Reputation system for individual regions of the game. You can check out a trailer for the 1.1 update below: [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/29/genshin-impact-version-11-announcement-trailer"] Check out details for each of the new additions below:

New Characters

The update adds four new characters. Childe is a 5-star hydro archer that, unlike any other character, can switch between melee and ranged attacks. Zhongli is a 5-star geo polearm wielder with high defense, strong area-of-effect attacks, and can petrify enemies. Xinyan and Diona are new 4-star characters who have not yet been detailed, but will offer "more effective elemental combos and combat strategies".

New Quests

No major details have been revealed for the new series of quests coming in the 1.1 update, but we know that it will include the grand finale of the Liyue chapter, meaning there will be three full acts of quests in the core storyline. Producer and CEO Hugh Tsai tells IGN that more character-specific side quests will be added, too.

Seasonal Event - 'Unreconciled Stars'

Unreconciled Stars is a two-week event, "which calls on all players to fight back against a sudden and terrible catastrophe facing Teyvat". The event will add a series of quests, co-op challenges, and will offer rewards including 4-star character Fischl.

Reputation System

The new Reputation system will give players a separate rating in each of the game's cities, which will build upon completing activities in the surrounding region.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Merges With Warzone In December

3 years 6 months ago
Activision has revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will integrate with Call of Duty: Warzone in December, the month after the main game launches. The integration between the two games will come as Black Ops Cold War enters its first season, just weeks after its November 13 launch. Black Ops Cold War weapons and operators will be made available in Warzone, as well as battle pass and store content. Players will also be able to use their Cold War multiplayer loadouts in Warzone. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/15/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-fireteam-dirty-bomb-trailer"] The merge was explained as part of Activision’s latest investor call. "We'll bring Black Ops Cold War's characters and weaponry into the free-to-play experience," said Daniel Alegre, the company’s chief operating officer. "Along with substantial new content ensuring that Warzone remains both a terrific experience and a powerful on-ramp for the franchise's premium content." Activision president Rob Kostich further elaborated on this: “For example, all the awesome new Black Ops weapons and operators you unlock and your level one to 55 progression will be usable in Black Ops and in Warzone just like they work in Modern Warfare.” "One cool feature that players will see is that they'll be able to choose either their Black Ops loadout or their Modern Warfare loadouts in Warzone for their gameplay," he added. While this system sounds practically identical to the way Warzone works with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, there are some elements that make this integration a little more interesting. If you’ve played the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War alpha, then you’ll know the new game plays and feels very differently to Modern Warfare, with the guns providing much of that change.

Pokémon Sword and Shield: The Crown Tundra DLC Review

3 years 6 months ago

Like the harsh and snowy climate it's set in, the final DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield’s season pass is an add-on designed with the most hardcore Pokémon players in mind. The Crown Tundra puts open-world exploration and legendary Pokémon front and center, taking full advantage of the base game's best innovation: wild areas. But while it succeeds in being another entertaining addition to Sword and Shield like The Isle of Armor before it, its weak story is similarly short-lived – and its exciting legendary hunts end with classic, grindy encounters that will have you praying to lady luck.

The second part of the Pokémon Sword and Shield expansion pass takes you to the Crown Tundra, an icy mountain region filled to the brim with powerful pocket monsters and frostbitten senior citizens. Like The Isle of Armor DLC, The Crown Tundra is one giant wild area where you’re given 360 degrees of control over the camera and Pokémon roam freely. Unlike wild areas before it though, The Crown Tundra actually makes much better use of the open-world sandbox by cramming it full of legendary Pokémon to track down and secrets to discover. You might find yourself solving a series of riddles to track down some legendary giants or cooking curry to lure out a reclusive unicorn. Though there’s only a few hours of legendary-hunting to be had in total, it’s definitely some of the best content in all of Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Raven's Beloved Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Had an Incredible Code Name

3 years 6 months ago
According to Raven Software co-founder Brian Raffel, the original code name for Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast was, incredibly, "Rocky's Pizza." IGN's Ryan McCaffrey sat down with Raffel to discuss Raven Software's broad history in the latest episode of IGN Unfiltered, along with discussions on Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Hexen, Heretic, Soldier of Fortune, and more. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/09/13/star-wars-jedi-knight-ii-jedi-outcast-announcement-trailer"] When asked for behind-the-scenes stories, Raffel recounted the sudden way the project was brought up to him. "There was really a weird way that this unfolded. We were with Activision, and we were working on Soldier of Fortune and stuff, and then I get a call from my boss, 'Hey! Would you wanna work on Star Wars?' and we were like, 'What?!'" Code names for secret projects are incredibly common, from consoles like the Xbox One's "Durango," to Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi's "Blue Harvest." These are usually vague phrases or words, but the code name for Jedi Outcast ranks high on our list of all-time bests. "We had to call it 'Rocky's Pizza' as a code name until we could tell everybody in the company. We had to keep it on the down-low until it got solidified." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="legacyId=16463&captions=true"] Raffel went on to discuss the team's perception of their own work, as well as the first time Raven showed the game to LucasArts. "The id tech was very important to us... the Quake tech... We knew we had something special when we did our first prototype and everyone poured their heart and soul into it..." "We had to show it to [LucasArts]... we had to impress them, of course. So... you landed in on a ship, an Empire ship, and there's reflections with all of the Stormtroopers walking, and everything, and it just had the vibe of Star Wars. And they were just...

EA is appealing a potential €5 million fine in The Netherlands for its sale of FIFA Ultimate Team packs. The Dutch government announced earlier in October that it would be enforcing a fine against EA for its implementation of paid-for loot boxes in its most recent FIFA games. EA will have to change the way its loot box-like items work in FIFA 19, 20, and 21, or every week the company will be fined €250,000, up to a maximum of €5 million. That's just in The Netherlands - the same fine is being levied against EA's Swiss subsidiary, meaning it could double in practice. EA Benelux issued a statement, noting its intent to appeal the fine. "We're disappointed by today's decision, and the possible impact of it on Dutch players. We do not agree that our products and services are in conflict with the local gambling laws," the statement reads. "We do appeal against this decision and try to prevent a situation that impacts the full possibilities of Dutch players in FIFA Ultimate Team." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/06/fifa-21-review"] "Electronic Arts attaches great importance to a positive playing experience: we strive to give all players choice, honesty, value, and pleasure in our games. We're still open to take part in talks with the Netherlands Gambling Authority and other stakeholders to solve and understand their concerns." Players of FIFA Ultimate Team will be familiar with the game's player packs, which can be purchased with FIFA Points, a currency that can be acquired with real money.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope Review

3 years 6 months ago

Horror can be hard to get right in an interactive story. When you have the freedom to make your own decisions it can inadvertently interrupt the building moods and provocative themes the genre is built on, but developer Supermassive has proven before that it can still tell a (mostly) cohesive story no matter what players decide to do. It’s such a shame then that Little Hope, the latest in its Dark Pictures Anthology, feels like a step backward compared to the studio’s previous games. It’s an odd, anemic thriller that I struggled to get invested in, and its choice and consequence system feels strangely superficial.

Hideo Kojima Explains That 'Death Stranding 2' Concept Art

3 years 6 months ago
Earlier this year, Hideo Kojima posted an image of concept art that suggested he may be working on a Death Stranding sequel – he's now told IGN that it doesn't represent "major plans, but just fragments of new ideas." As part of the interviews for our new video, How Death Stranding Foresaw Our Future, we asked Kojima about the image he tweeted (below), which appeared to show a new vehicle type branded with "BRIDGES", the name of Death Stranding's post-apocalyptic corporation-government:

Resident Evil 3 Remake Could Be Coming to Switch as a Cloud Version

3 years 6 months ago
A new image discovered by ResetEra users reveals that a cloud version of Resident Evil 3 Remake could be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo has dabbled in cloud gaming to bring games that likely otherwise wouldn't be playable on the Switch to the console. It began with Resident Evil 7 in 2018 and was followed up by Assassin's Creed Odyssey later that year. Those two cloud games were only playable in Japan but yesterday, Nintendo launched Control on Switch as a cloud game and revealed that the upcoming Hitman 3 would be a cloud game on Switch a well. RE3 might be the next game if the image below is any indication. [caption id="attachment_2431626" align="alignnone" width="720"]Credit: Capcom/Nintendo Credit: Jqui/Capcom/Nintendo[/caption] The image above was discovered in this ResetEra thread by user Jqui, as reported by Kotaku, and it was found on the the website used by the company behind the Switch's cloud capabilities, Ubitus GameCloud. It's important to note that the existence of this image doesn't necessarily imply a cloud version of RE3 is coming.

Sony's Jim Ryan Says It's 'Crucial' to Keep Serving PS4 Owners in Years to Come

3 years 6 months ago
Sony will seemingly continue to release new PS4 games for the next few years, after SIE CEO Jim Ryan explained that it's "crucial" to keep the console's huge audience of owners "engaged and happy". Speaking to GamesIndustry, Ryan explained that the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic - and the boost given to many gaming brands as a result of so many more people staying home - has caused the company to reassess how it looks at serving owners of its soon-to-be last-gen console: "Obviously, our eyes and our horizons have lifted with regards to what's possible with that PS4 community, based on what we've observed over the last six months. That can be quite powerful, because in 2021, 2022... that PS4 community that we've spoken about, they will be the vast majority of people on PlayStations during that time. It is crucial that we keep them engaged and happy. And the last six months have demonstrated that we could do that to an extent that we didn't think possible when we were setting our minds pre-COVID." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-best-ps4-games-summer-2020-update&captions=true"] That may explain the recent shift in public philosophy we've seen from PlayStation regarding its PS5 exclusives. As recently as May, Ryan gave an interview in which he said he'd prefer developers to "make the most" of PS5's features, seemingly above making games that work across two generations of console.

Demon’s Souls PS5: How Bluepoint Is Remaking a Classic

3 years 6 months ago
Demon’s Souls, the latest remake from Shadow of the Colossus (PS4) developer Bluepoint Games, is hitting the PS5 launch day, and with it reviving the start of the modern Soulsborne genre. But in bringing the PS3 classic to life after so many games in the genre, both developed by original devs FromSoftware and others, Bluepoint had an interesting task ahead of it: maintaining what many loved while making it feel fresh and modern. And that’s on top of optimizing it to showcase what the PS5’s SSD, DualSense controller, and more can add to the experience. IGN spoke with creative director Gavin Moore about the project, and came away with new info on the game’s visuals, haptics integration, and much more. Here are some of our biggest takeaways, which you can hear alongside seeing new footage in the video above. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/29/demons-souls-ps5-gameplay-trailer"]

PS5 Cinematic and Performance Modes

As a launch game for PS5, Demon’s Souls is aiming to showcase the technical prowess of the PS5, and to allow players some choice of how they want to play, Bluepoint is offering to visual modes for players to pick: Cinematic and Performance modes. Cinematic mode runs at native 4K at 30 FPS, and as Moore described it “It means we can up the resolution of every single tiny pebble in the game, right? The tessellation is incredible and it's all real-time, and it all casts real-time shadows.

Bethesda Boss Says It's 'Hard to Imagine' Elder Scrolls 6 Being Xbox-Exclusive

3 years 6 months ago
Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard has said it's "hard to imagine" The Elder Scrolls 6 as a fully Xbox-exclusive game in a new interview that touches on many aspects of ZeniMax's acquisition by Microsoft. In the interview, GamesIndustry's James Batchelor posed the idea that seeing The Elder Scrolls 6 as exclusive was hard to imagine, particularly as The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim owes some of its huge success to the sheer number of consoles it launched on. Howard replied by saying, "I would agree that is hard to imagine," but would say no more on the subject. The subject of Bethesda's games becoming Xbox exclusives has been a talking point since the moment we learned Xbox had agreed to acquire parent company ZeniMax for $7.5 billion.

Watch Dogs 2 Lead Actor Has Not Been Asked to Return for Watch Dogs Legion

3 years 6 months ago

Watch Dogs 2’s lead actor, Ruffin Prentiss, has not been asked to reprise his role as Marcus Holloway for Watch Dogs Legion, all but confirming that the character will not be returning in the new game anytime soon.

After the announcement of the return of original Watch Dogs star Aiden Pearce in Watch Dogs Legion, many expected Watch Dogs 2’s Marcus Holloway to make an appearance too - not least because it was the ending of the second game that teased a move to a London setting, with Marcus’ story left somewhat open-ended. However, WD2 supporting character Wrench was subsequently announced as a post-launch Legion character, with no mention of Marcus forthcoming.

Speaking to IGN, Marcus Holloway actor Ruffin Prentiss confirmed that he’s not been contacted by Ubisoft to step back into Marcus’ shoes: “I haven't heard from Ubisoft. I would love to reprise the role. It's one of my favorite things that I've ever done. When Aiden was announced I was like, ‘Oh, maybe there's a potential.’ [...] And then of course Wrench is in the game as well. He's my main partner in crime in Watch Dogs 2. So I think the realm of possibility still exists, but I have heard nothing from Ubisoft – but if they call, I'd absolutely jump back in.”

[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/28/watch-dogs-legion-review"]

With Aiden Pearce actor Noam Jenkins reprising his role in the new game, it seems unlikely that Ubisoft would recast Marcus - and with Legion on the verge of release, with post-launch DLC already announced, it seems unlikely that Marcus will be making an appearance, at least in the short to mid-term.

Watch Dogs 2's Lead Actor: Marcus Redefined Expectations for Black Characters

3 years 6 months ago

Game characters – and leading game characters in particular – are so often built as a vessel for players to fill out that they end up, paradoxically, lacking much character at all. Watch Dogs 2’s Marcus Holloway was a very different kind of lead, a character that displayed a consistently sympathetic flicker between brash confidence and nervousness, a passionately held personal philosophy, and a general friendliness missing from so many scripted protagonists.

As with most AAA open worlds, that character could become veiled by gunfire and absurdity when you actually began to control him, but the Marcus Holloway of Watch Dogs 2’s cutscenes felt notably like a person, not just a collection of voice lines designed to string missions together. Ruffin Prentiss was the actor giving Marcus that life, and while I was sad to learn during a recent conversation that he likely won’t return to the Watch Dogs universe anytime soon, we had a lot to discuss about how much a well-written video game character – and a Black character in particular – could mean to their actor and a community at large.

Final Fantasy 16 Introduces Its 6 Realms

3 years 6 months ago
Square Enix has detailed the six realms of Final Fantasy 16's world of Valisthea, providing us with more information about the game's setting. As we learned from the game's teaser website, Valisthea is a land "studded with colossal mountains of glittering crystal called Mothercrystals." These Mothercrystals provide aether to the people of Valisthea, and wars have been fought over the ownership of this powerful resource. This has split the realm into warring states, each with their own quirks and characters. It's very Game of Thrones. Five of the nations have a 'Dominant,' a special person imbued with the transformative power of an Eikon, special summons that "can level nations." Depending on the nation, a Dominant can be seen as royalty or a force to be feared. Here's some more information about the six realms of Valisthea in Final Fantasy 16. You can check out all of the realm's flags on the Final Fantasy 16 teaser website. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=final-fantasy-16-the-6-realms-of-valisthea&captions=true"]

The Grand Duchy of Rosaria

Rosaria is a nation made up of "small independent provinces in western Valisthea," and it's where the game's protagonist Clive Rosfield hails from. His brother Joshua Rosfield is the realm's Dominant, who is powered by the Eikon of Fire, a great Phoenix. The realm's Mothercrystal is called Drake's Breath and is held on a volcanic island off the coast. Rosaria's prosperity has been hurt by something called "the Blight", which threatens to bring the realm to its knees.

The Holy Empire of Sanbreque

Sanbreque is a theocracy ruled by a "Holy Emperor" who is worshipped as a living manifestation of God.

Final Fantasy 16: Heroes, World and Story Detailed

3 years 6 months ago
An article written by Square Enix Producer Naoki Yoshida has detailed the world and story of Final Fantasy XVI, and introduced us to heroes Clive, Joshua, and Jill. You can read the post in full over on the PlayStation Blog, where you can check out some artwork from the game and learn more about the motivations of the trio of main characters, as well as the world they inhabit. You can also check out the official Final Fantasy XVI website, which reveals even more details about the game's setting and cast, and the game's tagline: "The legacy of the crystals has shaped our history for long enough." Final Fantasy XVI takes place in Valisthea, a land "studded with colossal mountains of glittering crystal called Mothercrystals." The Mothercrystals have blessed the realms with aether for generations, allowing Valisthea's people to live in comfort. Of course, wars have been fought over the ownership of the Mothercrystals, which has created a set of conflicting nations, known as the Grand Duchy of Rosaria, the Holy Empire of Sanbreque, the Kingdom of Waloed, the Dhalmekian Republic and the Iron Kingdom. A "ruinous Blight" has recently overcome the land, which is threatening to disturb the "fragile peace" achieved between the warring states. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=final-fantasy-xvi-characters-and-world&captions=true"] The game's main protagonist is Clive Rosfield, the firstborn son of the Archduke of Rosaria.
