We hear via the game’s official Twitter account that changes are being made to aspects of the game based on feedback from the players.

Incidentally, President Yoshimi Yasuda himself encouraged players to send feedback at this address to reach the development team.

A confirmation menu will be added to avoid erroneous autoplay engagement, while squares in movement range that are also susceptible to attack will be highlighted. These changes will come with the day 1 patch.

A third change mentioned is the implementation of a save feature in the deployment screen. This will come alongside the robot enhancement system in April.

Legendary Dating Sim Tokimeki Memorial Finally Gets a Fan Translation

2 years 2 months ago

Few games are iconic within the dating simulation genre as Tokimeki Memorial by Konami, despite the fact that it was never officially localized in English.

Now, fan translators at Translated Games have finally filled the gap, proving a patch for the SNES version of the game.

The patch can be downloaded here, and it even comes with a few extra goodies.

Released in 1994 for PC Engine CD, the game received quite a few ports over time, and the one we’re looking at here is the SNES port released in 1996, titled Tokimeki Memorial: Densetsu no Ki no Shita de (Under the Legendary Tree).

The series has continued to this day in Japan, even if most of the latest games are for mobile platforms, while only the “Girl’s Side” sub-series has been released on consoles in recent years. Tokimeki Memorial: Girl’s Side 4th Heart has been launched for Nintendo Switch in 2021.

The original game has you play the role of a high-school student who is in love with the inevitable childhood friend Shiori Fujisaki.

Through the most classic dating sim gameplay, you have to organize your day to improve in various fields, while courting Shiori herself or a variety of additional heroines, all the way to the climatic confession at the end of high school.

Sega Announces Japanese Release Date for Sin Chronicle

2 years 2 months ago

sin chronicle release date

Sega announced the release date for its upcoming new RPG, Sin Chronicle. It will come out for mobile devices in Japan on March 23, 2022. Originally, it had a release window of December 2021, but Sega delayed the launch after user feedback. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

Sin Chronicle, which follows Sega’s other title Chain Chronicle, is  a “choice-based RPG.” The story changes depending on how you answer certain questions. The game itself will be free to play, but there will be micro transactions. According to the description, you have to pay to get certain items in Sin Chronicle, but it’s unclear what those items will be. There is a recruitment system for characters you encounter, and you can obtain weapons naturally in the game.

So far, 200,000 people pre-registered for Sin Chronicle. The roadmap for pre-registration bonuses is on the website. At 300,000 people, it will bring in two people (the protagonist and Phoena) from Chain Chronicle as crossover characters. Lastly, if 500,000 people pre-register, players will get a large gift of gems. Sega will hold a poll for players to choose if they want to get 800 gems immediately, or get 500 gems every day over the course of 4 days (maximum 2000 gems).

Sin Chronicle has a release date of March 23, 2022 in Japan, and it will appear on mobile devices.

Spy x Family Anime Release Date and New Key Visual Revealed

2 years 2 months ago

spy x family

Cloverworks and Wit Studio announced some new information about the Spy x Family anime, including when it will start. The show will start broadcasting from April 9, 2022 in Japan. As Crunchyroll announced that it would stream the show, those who have Crunchyroll Premium will be able to simulcast it every week.

https://twitter.com/spyfamily_anime/status/1500486358581723141

Along with the news of its release date, there is also a new key visual. It shows Loid, Yor, and Anya walking down the street like a normal family. But their “true” identities appear below them like a reflection. Spy x Family is a story about the Forger family, which is a cover family Loid created to fulfill a mission. Unbeknownst to him, his fake wife is actually an assassin and his fake daughter is really a mind reader. Hijinks ensue.

Viz Media licensed the tankobon volumes for those who would like to read physical versions of the series. But Spy x Family is also available online, as it is serialized in Shonen Jump+. While some of the earliest chapters and newest ones are free to read, you will need to spend 30 points to rent chapters in between for 48 hours.

Fate/Apocrypha Glasses are Based on Mordred and Jeanne d’Arc

2 years 2 months ago

Fate/Apocrypha Glasses

Type-Moon is collaborating with Japanese lenswear company Eyemirror to release two Fate/Apocrypha glasses. The two glasses feature designs based on Ruler Jeanne d'Arc and Saber of "Red" Mordred. The glasses are available to purchase in select locations in Tokyo and Osaka, as well as through the Eyemirror online store. Both glasses will cost ¥18,700 (about $162). [Thanks, Natalie!]

The glasses feature various symbols and designs that take inspiration from each character's weapons and appearance. Fate/Apocrypha illustrator Ototsugu Konoe fully supervised each design.

The Jeanne d'Arc model is based on the character's plate armor, as well as her Luminosité Eternelle battle standard. Its main colors are purple and silver with a Titanium frame. Similarly, the Mordred glasses are based on her armor and weapons. The nose bridge resembles the character's helmet, and the glasses feature a blood-red coloring with black accenting.

Furthermore, each set of glasses will come with an original glasses case. It also includes a glasses cleaning cloth featuring an illustration of the respective character in casual wear. Additionally, a special glasses stand resembling each character's face. Putting the glasses on the stand will make it look like the character is wearing the glasses.

You can get a better look at the Fate/Apocrypha glasses in the screenshots below.

Nintendo Switch Online’s Mobile App Finally Lets You See Which Friends Are Online

2 years 2 months ago

The Nintendo Switch Online mobile app has finally been updated to include some fairly basic features.

In the new 2.0.0 update, the app can now be used to see which friends are online, change your online status, and view your own friend code. Previously, these features were only available on the Switch itself.

The new update will also refresh the app's overall design and implement a variety of other minor changes, according to its official Apple App Store page.

The app launched in 2017 as the only method to chat online with friends on Switch, but was relatively bare-bones compared to Nintendo's competitors' services such as Xbox Live or PlayStation Plus.

Nintendo is likely hoping the new update will improve perception of the app, which currently sits at just a 2.9 out of five stars on the App Store and 3.7 out of five stars on the Google Play Store.

The Switch's online page was also recently updated to include new "missions and rewards" that allow users to earn points for using the console and spend them on digital and physical rewards.

Grow: Song of the Evertree is a surprisingly expansive fairy tale

2 years 2 months ago

Grow: Song of the Evertree is like the perfect combination of Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon. It has everything you could want from a farming game, with an alien element added in. Your role is to bring the expansive world tree back to life and create and nurture your own worlds by farming. You are also responsible for building villages, recruiting people to live in your town, and finding love in the face of adversity. The world has been taken over by 'the Withering' which is responsible for corrupting the land and disrupting the song created by the Evertree.

This game has an amazing ability to make the world seem so much bigger than it actually is. Whilst confined to specific places and allowed to explore within their means, it is surprisingly good at making the game feel like an open world. There is still so much that needs exploring and so many goals that need completing. Even so, while the game is expansive, and it's so easy to get lost in, it never feels overwhelming and anxiety inducing. It's relaxing at every step of the way, which is a huge deal for someone like me who always feels anxious in open-world games.

While the £250 RRP is already great, Argos are currently offering it with a free set of the official Xbox wired headphones. Just scroll down the page to find it under the special bundles tab. Elden Ring Overtakes New World to Become Steam's Sixth Biggest Game By Concurrents

2 years 2 months ago

Elden Ring's popularity has continued to grow in its second week on the market, having now overtaken New World to become Steam's sixth biggest game of all time by concurrent players.

Per SteamDB data, Elden Ring's peak concurrent users currently stand at 953,426, with a weekend surge pushing it past New World's 913,634.

This places the game behind only Cyberpunk 2077 in fifth, followed by Dota 2, CS: GO, Lost Ark, and finally PUBG: Battlegrounds in first place as Steam's most popular games of all time by concurrent users.

Elden Ring's stats are impressive for other reasons too – it's not dropped below half a million concurrent users on Steam since it launched on February 25. Today, March 7, has seen Elden Ring's lowest concurrent count yet, at a still-enormous 526,455 players at one time.

The game's popularity on PC was first noted last weekend when Elden Ring's playerbase reached higher and higher numbers each day after release, though it's not been without issues on Steam as players have lost save data and experienced performance problems.

Reception has been largely positive overall, however, prompting Elden Ring to become the UK's biggest non-FIFA or Call of Duty release in since 2018.

Elden Ring Fans Think DLC Could Include a PvP Mode

2 years 2 months ago

Elden Ring fans are debating the meaning of a few curiously locked parts of The Lands Between, with many concluding that they'll be used for PvP or Boss Rush DLC additions (although the latter seems much less likely).

Warning: This article contains small spoilers for Elden Ring locations.

It's very possible that you'll have stumbled across one or more of the Colosseums in The Lands Between, and subsequently been a bit confused about why you can't get inside.

The game's opening area, Limgrave, includes a Colosseum, guarded by an NPC invader you have to defeat in order to claim two of the game's multiplayer items. However, the Colosseum itself remains closed, with a ghostly figure sat outside wondering why they can't get in.

FromSoft dataminer Lance McDonald has now released a video showing what's inside that Colosseum, which is a fully realised area, complete with an arena, stands for spectators, and elevators. There are Colosseums found in multiple parts of the map, too.

In the past week, quite a few Elden Ring players have suffered problems with save files on Steam. They weren't being synced properly online with the Steam Cloud, which led to Steam asking whether they wanted to use the cloud save or local save. This question spooked some, leading them to choose poorly and end up with an old save, missing maybe hours of progress. Oh no. That ssshould be fixed now, by a Steam patch Valve released on Friday. Nintendo Unable to Process eShop Payments in Russia Due to Third Party Issues

2 years 2 months ago

Editor's Note: The war in Ukraine is an ongoing, painful and emotive topic. IGN urges community members to be respectful when engaging in conversation around this subject and does not endorse harassment of any kind.

Nintendo has put the Russian eShop into 'maintenance mode', meaning no purchases of new content can be made in the country.

As noted on the Nintendo Russia site, the payment service Nintendo uses for the eShop is no longer processing Russian rubles, meaning Nintendo cannot take payments. The statement ends, "We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We will share updates as the situation develops."

While many major gaming companies, including Xbox, have deliberately suspended sales in Russia, Nintendo's wording in the statement implies that this is an unintentional byproduct of another company's decisions, rather than its own move designed to join the chorus of games industry support for Ukraine. We've contacted Nintendo for comment on that point.

A number of humanitarian aid organizations are currently accepting donations and support for their efforts to help Ukrainians impacted by the war. They include:

The story of Heaven's Vault maker Inkle

2 years 2 months ago

I've had a soft spot for Inkle ever since playing Sorcery! on my old banger of an iPhone many years ago, and I've been delighted by every single game it has made since. Games like 80 Days, Heaven's Vault, the 2022 BAFTA-nominated Overboard! and Pendragon - games that wield words masterfully. And I cannot wait for the studio's new game A Highland Song that was revealed properly only a few weeks ago.

It's with great excitement, then, that I introduce today's Eurogamer Podcast guests. They are the two people who founded Inkle just over 10 years ago. The two people who once met working on a curious game at Sony about the cycle of a person's life - a game that would ultimately never be made. But they became friends, dreaming together about what kind of games they would make, and then one day, dreams became reality and Inkle was born.

Podcast: Meet the person putting wheelchairs in D&D

2 years 2 months ago

It was during a lecture they probably should have been listening to that Sara Thompson doodled the Dungeons & Dragons Combat Wheelchair on the back of a textbook. They'd been talking about it for a while, the wheelchair, irked by a game that offered players limitless freedom to be whoever they wanted but still struggled to fully represent them. So they did something about it.

A few years later, that Combat Wheelchair add-on for Dungeons & Dragons is on a third edition, spans dozens of pages, and has reached right around the world. It got the attention of writers working for D&D maker Wizards of the Coast, inspired bespoke miniature models and was featured by mega-popular Critical Role host Matt Mercer.

Sheldon or Ross? Test Your Friends & Big Bang Theory Quote Knowledge

2 years 2 months ago

Out of all the big TV shows to ever grace our small screens, Friends and The Big Bang Theory are arguably two of the most resonant and iconic. Yes, NBC and CBS’s popular sitcoms not only made waves with audiences when they were released back in 1994 and 2007, respectively, but they’ve also gone on to become much-needed comfort food for us on rainy days in the here and now.

Of all the characters on the shows, Sheldon Cooper and Ross Geller stick out as having a lot in common with each other. Both are essentially the “smarty pants” characters of their respective shows, and each have their own loveable, idiosyncratic quirks – like us all, I guess!

With that in mind, then, we thought that now would be the perfect time to test your knowledge of Friends and The Big Bang Theory. All you have to do is figure out who said what in our latest quote quiz. Was it the socially awkward child prodigy, Sheldon Cooper? Or was it the charming-yet-goofy paleontologist, Ross Geller? You decide.

So, without further ado, grab your Roommate Agreements and prepare to achieve true Unagi in Twinfinite’s latest quote quiz. Good luck, and don’t forget… PIVOT!
