Where To Deploy Seismographs In Fortnite

2 years 6 months ago

In Fortnite: Wrath of the Cube Queen, you'll need to know where to deploy seismographs in Misty Meadows or Catty Corner as part of the new Ghostbusters questline. Completing all of these quests will unlock you a huge bounty of XP and an exclusive Ghostbusters back bling cosmetic item for free, but it all starts with these seismographs. Here's where to deploy them seismographs Fortnite.

Where To Deploy Seismographs In Fortnite - Misty Meadows

Two locations, Misty Meadows and Catty Corner, have three seismograph interactions each, so you'll theoretically only need to visit one location. Let's start in Misty Meadows. You'll find you can deploy seismographs in Misty Meadows at the following spots:

  • By the water fountain where the main road turns in the southwest corner
  • Beside the covered patio area on the west side of the bridge
  • By the small dock north of the bridge

Where To Deploy Seismographs In Fortnite - Catty Corner

Assuming you'd rather start in Catty Corner--or just need to finish off the quest on a second try--you'll find three more seismograph locations. If all else is equal, Catty Corner's three quest-relevant spots are actually much closer together and thus will be faster to complete, but remember to account for enemy density and the storm circle's movement.

Within Catty Corner, you'll find you can place seismographs at the following spots:

  • By the back door of the auto body shop
  • Next to the Reboot Van
  • In front of the bounty board and airstream trailer to the north

You can see all six locations on this one map below.

GTFO to Leave Early Access This Year; New Rundowns Will Feature in Full Version

2 years 6 months ago

Developer 10 Chambers has today confirmed its plans to release GTFO as a full version later this year, also promising new ‘Rundown’ content moving forward.

For the uninitiated, in GTFO, you play a team of prisoners whose survival relies on your ability to communicate, coordinate – and count your bullets. Imprisoned by a mysterious entity called “The Warden,” your resources are scarce, and the dangers down in the Complex many.

The game uses a unique content delivery system called “The Rundown” – the work order mandated by The Warden. These updates create new expeditions that override the old ones as The Warden sees they are no longer helpful. New challenges and objectives replace the previous set, so that way, every expedition has something unique to find. These are delivered as content packages to GTFO, and five Rundowns have been released to date.

GTFO has been in development for six years, with the last two in Early Access. Twinfinite previewed the game back in October of 2019 ahead of its launch in Early Access, and we were thoroughly impressed even despite some rough-around-the-edges matchmaking and limited content. Since then, the matchmaking has been resolved, and more importantly, and the aforementioned string of new content has added a huge amount of depth to the experience.

“During the Early Access phase, we have delivered a total of 50 expeditions in our five Rundowns, throwing a range of tough challenges to our community. There have been theories that this concept is something we’re just using during Early Access to try out different gameplay mechanics, but I am happy to say that the Rundown updates will continue with GTFO in Version 1.0”, says Simon Viklund, Narrative Director and Composer at 10 Chambers.

Wow, Xbox Mini Fridge Preorders Sell Out Within 15 Minutes

2 years 6 months ago

Maybe it’s because I primarily play console games on PlayStation. Maybe it’s because I can’t fit anything into my New York shoebox apartment. Maybe it’s because I’m cynical about marketing that centers around the gamer identity. But wow. I was not expecting folks to be so hyped about the Xbox Series X mini fridge.

Witcher 3 Rated For PS5 And Xbox Series X, Suggesting It Won't Be Delayed To 2022

2 years 6 months ago

CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been rated for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, which seems to suggest that the game will in fact launch this year and not slip to 2022.

The rating was published by Europe's PEGI on October 19. A similar rating for America's ESRB is not available.

The fact that The Witcher 3 has been rated for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S suggests that its release might not be too far off. This is good news for fans hoping to play the new version this year, as developer CD Projekt Red admitted that the game could slip to 2022.

The Witcher 3's new-gen edition is developed by Saber Interactive. The game will take advantage of the increased horsepower of those systems to make the game look and run better. It also comes with all previously released expansions, as well as new content inspired by Netflix's popular Witcher TV show.

Cyberpunk 2077's PS5 and Xbox Series X|S edition is also on track for release in 2021, though CD Projekt Red acknowledged that it might move to 2022. Whatever the case, both games will be free for people who already purchased Cyberpunk 2077 or The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Sea of Thieves Hits 25 Million Players; Rare to Celebrate With 25 Million Gold Giveaway

2 years 6 months ago

Sea of Thieves has come a long way since its launch back in 2018, and while the sea… of thieves, has been rocky at times, the game has evolved and grown a lot over the years, and fans have rewarded Rare for sticking with it by hitting a major milestone this week. Rare announced today that Sea of Thieves has hit over 25 million players and to celebrate they are doing a big giveaway.

Over the next week, starting today and ending on Oct. 26. anyone who logs into Sea of Thieves will receive 25,000 gold and 25 Doubloons as a free thank you. That’s not the real prize, though. One randomly picked player that turns in treasure of any kind during this time period will win 25 million gold. An insane bounty that will last that pirate pretty much a lifetime.

Although your odds are winning are potentially… one in 25 million, it’s still a pretty enticing reward. It’s basically winning the pirate lotto. It doesn’t take a whole lot to log in, get your free bonus, and then quickly turn in some treasure to put yourself in the running.

So if you have any interest in Sea of Thieves whatsoever, log in and get that done before the week is up. And, if you haven’t played in a long time, it might be worth sticking around to check out all of the new additions over the last year or two including the Pirate’s Life/Jack Sparrow crossover Tall Tales.

DF Direct Weekly talks Forza Horizon 5, Star Citizen and GTA Remastered

2 years 6 months ago

A day late as we clear a content backlog, DF Direct Weekly is back! Myself, John Linneman and Alex Battaglia sit down for almost an hour and a half to discuss the latest gaming and tech news and drill deep into a mailbag of questions offered up by backers of the Digital Foundry Supporter Program. Forza Horizon 5, Star Citizen, GTA Remastered and some curious matters surrounding Metroid Dread performance dominate the discussion this week.

We'll have more on Forza Horizon 5 soon, but we have had access to the recent preview build played by Oli last week and in our opinion, this is odds on in delivering one of the most exciting games of the year. We've only had access to an Xbox Series build, but this has it all - genuine 'next-gen' spectacle and outrageous action while still retaining Forza's signature simulation core. It's also interesting in that both 30fps quality and 60fps performance modes both appear to be running at native 4K on Xbox Series X - Forza has always had the ability to scale settings and it opts for that over dynamic resolution scaling. It's something we're going to need to take a closer look at with final code, because both Series X and S maintain a rock solid 60fps while still looking beautiful.

These Four Towns Are Getting Chansey-themed Pokemon Parks

2 years 6 months ago

Four towns in Japan’s Fukushima Prefecture will be getting parks themed after the lucky Pokemon Chansey as part of their local arts campaign, according to Japanese news site SoraNews24.

Chansey has been named the Pokemon ambassador of the Fukushima Prefecture, which makes sense as Chansey’s name in Japanese means “lucky” and Fukushima written in kanji means “lucky island.” This ambassadorship has led to the establishment of four parks with a variety of equipment featuring Chansey and some others.

The specific towns that will be getting special parks dedicated to this Pokemon will be Koriyama, Namie, Yanaizu, and Showa. Namie will be the first to open its Chansey park in December, with the rest following soon after by Spring 2022.

We’ve seen some concept art for these new parks, and they feature a number of other pink Pokemon besides Chansey. The parks will also include equipment that feature Pokemon such as Happiny, Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Lickitung as a foundation for swings, slides, and more.

These are the first towns in Japan to get Pokemon-themed parks like this. You can see some concept art for the parks below, as well as a photo from the formal dedication ceremony that was held earlier this month on Oct. 14 in Fukushima.

Dead by Daylight’s Pinhead Is Now an NFT and Everyone’s Angry

2 years 6 months ago

The Dead By Daylight character model for Pinhead has been licensed as an NFT and the game's fanbase isn't all too pleased about it.

As reported by PC Gamer, fans will now be able to purchase an NFT of the Pinhead character model from Dead By Daylight. The sale of the NFT comes from the company Boss Protocol who, as part of an FAQ, states that it has "the official license to create NFTs based on Hellraiser using the in-game models that were created for Dead by Daylight."

According to the company, Pinhead's arrival on the Blockchain comes as part of a "unique generated collection" strictly limited to 10,000 NFTs, across a range of different rarity models. For some fans purchasing the digital token, the NFT will also come with a copy of the Hellraiser DLC for Dead by Daylight too - though it's not quite clear as to who exactly will receive this.

Within its FAQ page, Boss Protocol confirmed that the purchase of the Pinhead NFT would not unlock additional exclusive content within Dead by Daylight. However, the company did say that "certain Pinhead NFTs will unlock access to Hellraiser collectibles and all of them will entitle their owners (on a future date) to additional NFTs (like the Lament Configuration Box) at no cost." The FAQ page also states: "The Pinhead NFT will also grant access to new content (unrelated to Dead by Daylight) in the future. For instance, the Pinhead NFT will allow owners to unlock the character in other games that are now in development."

Mass Effect Gets Groovy in This Hilarious Austin Powers Parody Video

2 years 6 months ago

At first, you wouldn’t really think that Bioware’s beloved space opera, Mass Effect, and Mike Meyer’s James Bond parody movies, Austin Powers, would have anything in common. That is until Youtuber eli_handle_b.wav decided to create the brilliant video you see down below.

Right from the getgo, you know that the video is going to be hilarious, as the beginning of the first Austin Powers movie is dubbed over with the beginning of the first Mass Effect game. Hearing Anderson and Udina talk about the cryogenically frozen 1960s playboy spy in the same way that they discuss Shepard is hilarious and surprisingly fitting, especially given the Commander’s petulance for having multiple romances.

The comparative chaos only escalates, as the infamous Austin Powers gets wedged scene is overlayed with Shepard driving the Mako, which was always known for its terrible controls. We also get a few hilarious renegade interrupts, including a confrontation with Khalisah Al-Jilani and a unique way to trigger the Destroy ending.

Total War: Warhammer 3 trailer shows Grand Cathay and Tzeentch rumbling

2 years 6 months ago

After a lot of explaining how the factions of Grand Cathay and Tzeentch will work in Total War: Warhammer 3, Creative Assembly today demonstrated with a nine-minute video dramatically recapping a battle between the two. The third game in their fantasy real-time strategy series has needed to invent and fill out a lot of armies not present in the tabletop game, so it's interesting to see them in action. Got some nice colours and weird warmen, at the very least.
