Yeah, you read that right. Not only is this the day we're jumping back into Replay, but we're also doing it in a big way. Super Replay is back, and we couldn't think of a better last-gen game to kick off the show with than FromSoftware's iconic combination of gameplay excellence and incredible world-building in Bloodborne.

While the esteemed developer was already well-known for its work on the seminal Dark Souls series and paving a way for a new sub-genre, Bloodborne was able to capture the attention and imagination of those not as versed in what From had worked on before. Looking back at the official Game Informer review, it's clear that Bloodborne left an early and lasting mark on those who played it:

3 Reasons Why Better Call Saul Isn’t Just a B-Grade Spin-Off

3 years 1 month ago

With the sixth and final season of AMC’s Better Call Saul beginning filming, now is the perfect time for anyone who hasn’t gotten into the show to start. And yes, we understand how good Breaking Bad was, but trust me, this show isn’t just a b-grade spin-off of it.

Series Specific Stories & Characters

One of the hardest parts about creating a prequel series is that you have to keep fans interested even though they already know how a lot of the characters and main stories end up. Better Call Saul solves this problem by focusing on things that don’t require viewers to even have seen Breaking Bad to be interesting or compelling.

Immortals Fenyx Rising's second DLC Myths of the Eastern Realm gets March release date

3 years 1 month ago

Immortals Fenyx Rising, Ubisoft's greek mythology inspired open-world adventure, will be getting its second helping of paid post-launch DLC on 25th March.

Myths of the Eastern Realm, as it's known, moves away from Immortals' usual Olympian action, instead following a new hero, Ku, on a journey - taking place long before events of the main game - across a new open-world map inspired by Chinese mythology.

"When a brutal war breaks out between Heaven and Earth," explains Ubisoft, "humanity is turned back into the clay that the Goddess Nuwa formed them from. But...Ku, escapes the curse of the broken heavens and emerges into the fallen world."

Feels From Heals: Healing In Final Fantasy XIV Is Super Rewarding

Pokémon Go developer Niantic is testing a feature that lets players see what might be inside the game’s eggs before they walk the many miles to hatch them. How Does Rust Perform On Consoles? Find Out In These Extended Gameplay Videos

3 years 1 month ago

Rust is finally coming to consoles later this spring, so naturally the news caused its PC audience to furrow their brows wondering how the game would perform on PS4 and Xbox One. Can the last-gen boxes handle everything the game has to offer without devolving into a stuttering, unplayable mess? Developer Double Eleven, who is handling the console ports of the game, is addressing those concerns by releasing uncut gameplay videos of Rust running on consoles.

The developer put together two different gameplay videos of Rust running on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, the most powerful versions of the last-generation of consoles. While the demonstration may be less illuminating for owners of the standard PS4 and Xbox One, it still provides some idea of Rust’s performance on a home console, including its load times and framerate. If you've never played Rust, the videos provide a solid idea of the moment-to-moment action and the various loadout options used to customize your playstyle.

Nintendo's Arms Graphic Novel Quietly Cancelled

3 years 1 month ago
An Arms graphic novel coming from Nintendo has seemingly been cancelled, if the author's portfolio is anything to go off of. Ian Flynn wrote an introductory Free Comic Book Day 2018 issue of what was set to become an entire Arms graphic novel, but as reported by Video Games Chronicle his portfolio now says the project was planned but "unfortunately canceled." The free comic book's cover literally reads "Graphic Novel Coming Fall 2018!" and when that Fall came without a trace of an Arms graphic novel, fans began to assume something was up. Ian Flynn Arms Portfolio Page Perhaps it had been delayed, but as the years passed by, the general read was that it had probably been canned. Reddit user, Dr-Richie-74, noticed that on Flynn's portfolio page, it says the following under an Arms section: "Wrote the introductory Free Comic Book Day 2018 issue for a planned, but unfortunately canceled, graphic novel series based on the popular Nintendo fighting game franchise, ARMS." VGC discovered that on March 11, someone on Twitter reached out to Flynn to ask if the Arms graphic novel had been officially cancelled.

Techland Has A Dying Light 2 Update For Us Next Week

3 years 1 month ago

When we got an extended look at Dying Light 2 at E3 2019, we were blown away by the gameplay demo. However, in early 2020, the studio delayed the game indefinitely and then went largely quiet ever since. Now, developer Techland has announced a development update planned for next week.

Scheduled for Wednesday, March 17, the Polish studio says it will give fans an update on the development of Dying Light 2. "We've got a few words to share with you about the Dying Light 2 development process," the tweet from the official Dying Light Twitter account said. "Be sure to be with us next Wednesday." The studio then said that people who join the Dying Light Discord server will be the first to see it.

Unlucky Stardew Valley players can't hatch their ostrich egg and I share their pain

3 years 1 month ago

When's the last time you genuinely struggled to get a rare drop in a game and put in hour after hour only for your unlucky streak to persist well beyond reason? What stopped you from calling it quits?

I'm trying to hatch an ostrich egg in Stardew Valley – my first and only – but I can't, and I'm not alone.

You see, I'm on this island, and each day, I bomb the hell out of hundreds of rocks in a volcano while kinda-sorta-but-not-really dodging lava beasts. I'm trying to get a particular fossil to pop out that I can donate to a professor in exchange for a specific incubator that will let me hatch my new animal buddy. But there's a problem, at least for some of us: the item we need – a Mummified Bat – just won't drop.

Am I one of the unlucky few? How unlucky is too unlucky? Let me back up for a minute.

Here's what the ostrich looks like in Stardew Valley – if you're lucky! This could be me! [Image Credit: Lord_Evanshire]

I've been playing an unholy amount of Stardew Valley lately, and despite owning it on a few different platforms, only now – with the 1.5 update that added split-screen co-op – have I gone this overboard.

Dying Light 2 Development Update Scheduled For Next Week

3 years 1 month ago

Finally, there’s news on Dying Light 2. Well, sort of. There’s news of news coming next week thanks to a Twitter announcement today that has locked in a development update for Wednesday, March 17.

Dying Light 2 is, of course, the anticipated sequel of 2014’s Dying Light, a post-apocalyptic, open-world zombie game that proved hugely popular. The second game was first announced way back in 2017, promising a larger, more ambitious iteration of the same design, though with a far greater emphasis on storytelling and role-playing.

But writer Chris Avallone, an intricate part of the studio’s plan to focus on storytelling, was forced to leave the studio after allegations of sexual misconduct, Dying Light 2’s development continued to falter. First, a delay earlier this year, then the departure Pawel Selinger, the game’s lead art director and writer who had been with the company for over twenty years.

Yes, we'll learn more about Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis very soon

3 years 1 month ago

You know that Jack Nicholson nodding gif? That's how I feel whenever I hear the phrase Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis.

I mean, I love playing PSO 2 on the Xbox One. I've been waiting for it for years! But there's something special about the idea of playing a Phantasy Star offshoot at the same time with everyone else; sans a giant years-long Japan region lead. It's glorious, and reminds me of when my whole group dove into Phantasy Star Online together on Dreamcast and the OG Xbox.

We've already gleaned a bit of info from various Sega goings-on these past few months, but now we're diving even more headfirst into it really soon. How soon? March 18 at 7AM ET, otherwise known as 21:00 JST. You can watch it right here at that time.

As the listing reminds us, New Genesis is scheduled to be released "sometime in 2021" on PC, PS4, and Switch (via cloud version) in Japan. In the US, it'll also arrive on the Xbox One and Series X/S.
