Adding to the ever-growing list of places the next Call Of Duty game has leaked, fans have reportedly discovered a promo for Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on some Doritos packaging. Of all the leaks we’ve seen so far, this is absolutely the one I’d believe. See what happens when you leave your announcement too long, Activision? Gaming snacks don’t have time to wait for you.
Here’s a nice one for The Witcher fans on this lovely summer afternoon – Netflix have announced they’re making a prequel series to teach us all about the beginnings of those mysterious, white-haired monster hunters. Named The Witcher: Blood Origins, it’ll be set 1200 years prior to dear old Geralt Of Rivia’s story, and will tell us the tale of how “the very first Witcher came to be”.
A new Ghost of Tsushima patch will launch on July 27, 2020 and add a Lethal difficulty mode and Low Intensity Combat option.

During last week's Xbox Games Showcase, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 developer Fatshark introduced its new Left 4 Dead-like co-op shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
There were two prevalent schools of thought. On one side, people were excited about a Warhammer zombie shooter, especially given how thick the horde looked in that teaser/debut trailer. On the other, people were left wondering how this is going to affect the ongoing development of Vermintide 2.
Fatshark has spent years dedicated to content updates and larger expansions for Vermintide 2. A major add-on, Chaos Wastes, is already in the pipeline. Will Vermintide 2 be put on the backburner for a next-gen project?
The short and emphatic answer: No. Fatshark addressed these concerns in a letter to the community, and explained that Darktide and Vermintide 2 will be developed simultaneously.
The studio says "We remain committed to Vermintide 2. We are looking forward to the continuous development of Vermintide 2, and the next major DLC update coming is Warhammer: Vermintide 2 -- Chaos Wastes. We are also already working on the next career following the positive reception of the Grail Knight... and of course, so much more that we are not ready to announce."
The infestation isn't over. It'll take more than the development of a new cooperative game to kill it off.
If you've found yourself with a spare few hundred hours to sink into a new game then you might want to pop over to GOG where loads of terrific RPGs are now on sale.
It's all part of GOG's Grand RPG Sale: a fitting title for an event that features over 200 new and classic games for up to 90 per cent off.
Let's start with some easy recommendations. First up, there's Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition for £14.99. Larian's modern spin on the cRPG is about as good as they come. Massively detailed, gloriously in-depth and mechanically fascinating - it's even better played in co-op, too!

Sucker Punch Productions has announced that its latest open-world action game, Ghost of Tsushima, will be getting a brand-new update later today that will address certain issues and will even add new features such as another difficulty mode and more accessibility options.
The first thing that patch 1.05 for Ghost of Tsushima does is bring along a new difficulty mode called ‘Lethal.’ In this mode, enemy weapons are more deadly, but Jin’s Katana is also more deadly, making the combat even more intense than it already is.
The enemies are also just generally more aggressive as they’ll detect you faster and it will be also harder for you to dodge and parry enemy attacks.
As for the accessibility options go, two new additions will pop up in the settings once you install patch 1.05.
A new Lower Intensity Combat mode can be turned on, which is “meant to maintain the heart and feel of Ghost of Tsushima combat while relaxing several timing-specific elements.” The combat is less intense and it’s way easier to react to enemy movements.
There are also new text options that allow players to increase text size, change subtitle text colors, among other things.
And of course, this new patch also includes additional bug fixes like always. For more info, you can check out the patch notes.
The success of Netflix's The Witcher adaptation is leading to a second season with Henry Cavill returning as Geralt of Rivia, as well as a six-part prequel series called The Witcher: Blood Origin, which was announced in a short tweet today. This new series is set 1,200 years before Geralt's reign, and will give us a look at the Elven civilization before its collapse to the world of men and monsters. We'll also be introduced to the first Witcher.
No release date information was shared for the prequel miniseries, but it will be helmed by Witcher writers and producers Declan de Barra and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. The second season of the core Witcher series is set to resume filming on August 17. Hissrich is also working on the Netflix anime The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Netflix is all in on this fantasy series that has already made its mark in games and novels, and appears to be a big hit in the TV streaming space as well.
Ghost of Tsushima owners will receive an update to the game today which allows you to make the experience easier - or more difficult.
Patch 1.05 includes a new Lethal difficulty level which makes the weapons of your enemies more deadly, but also buffs main character Jin's own katana. Enemies will also be more aggressive in combat and detect you faster, with tighter windows to dodge and parry.
Alternatively, you'll be able to enable Lower Insensity. This setting will let you block more attacks than in standard combat, and recover if you do get hit. You'll also get a window of grace if you're using Resolve to heal up, while enemy awareness will build more slowly.

"We don't do a tremendous number of box sets," Perkins said. "And we don't always have the luxury of time or money to really test ourselves... You'd think that we're just taking something that exists, we're putting it in a fancy package and 'Whoop!' it's done, but actually so much thought and so many people were involved in the concepting and the packaging and the design, the cards, the DM screen, and everything. It was actually a very time consuming – but fun – process."

Whether it’s 2005 or 2020, there’s something cathartic about running amok in an idyllic 1950s world as an angry gray alien and slurping up human brains by the gallon. This upgraded remaster of the original Destroy All Humans! recaptures that simple joy, and does a respectable job of updating the look and feel. It was never a masterpiece of open-world third-person action, but it still knows how to have some fun.
The luxury Game Boy will be released next May
Analogue, the company behind the FPGA driven retro consoles, such as the Mega Sg and Super Nt, has finally shared additional details on the upcoming Analogue Pocket - its first foray into the world of portable gaming. As announced last year, the idea behind the pocket is to deliver an FPGA driven console capable of playing Game Boy family cartridges either using its high-resolution internal LCD or via a dock connected to another display. Support for Neo Geo Pocket Color, Game Gear and Atari Lynx is also possible via adapters. In recent years, new screens and mods have been developed for many of these original consoles but the Pocket seeks to combine everything into a stylish casing.
This was already known but we've since learned more about its features suggesting something even more ambitious. Firstly, the internal LCD screen, which uses an obscenely high-resolution 1600x1440 3.5" panel, supports variable refresh rate technology. This is key when it comes to properly handling games across different handheld systems as each device uses its own internal refresh rate. VRR ensures that judder and frame duplication won't become an issue. Analogue also confirms that the scaling and display features have been redesigned specifically around the internal LCD which should hopefully ensure even scaling and options to suit each platform.
The dock is also rather robust in that it supports up to four players wirelessly while offering both digital HDMI output and support for the Analogue DAC - a digital to analog converter designed to support older CRT displays. This should enable a seamless docking experience similar to the Nintendo Switch or PSP Go. The dock supports controllers via Bluetooth, 2.4g and even wired via one of the USB ports on the back.
Last year, the makers of the Super Nt and Mega Sg premium retro consoles announced a gorgeous new device to let you play your favorite handheld games of yesteryear in the best possible way. The Analogue Pocket lets you play more than 3,000 Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance cartridges, with the option to purchase cartridge adapters to expand the library to include Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, and Atari Lynx. Unfortunately, this sleek device, which was originally scheduled to ship sometime this year, has been delayed to May 2021 due to supply-chain issues outside of Analogue's control.
The silver lining is Analogue has announced some new features, minor design changes, and a line of accessories to purchase alongside the Analogue Pocket. Perhaps the coolest new feature announced is Original Display Modes, which instantly turns the Pocket's display into the display of an original Game Boy, Game Boy Color, or Game Boy Advance. Analogue touts the accuracy of these display modes by saying, "quirks and all."
Last year, Analogue, makers of excellent high-end retro consoles like the Analogue NT (NES) and Mega SG (Sega Genesis), announced a high-def portable Game Boy console complete with its own HDMI dock, due out in 2020. Thanks to covid-19's effect on the supply chain, the Analogue Pocket is now shipping in May of 2021,…
Everyone knows Majora's Mask is a sequel to Ocarina of Time - but what happened between the two games? The fan-made Zelda: The Missing Link stitches the two stories together, via a short game created within Ocarina's engine (thanks, Kotaku).
Several new items pop up - the most interesting of which is a Magic Hourglass (no, nothing to do with the Phantom one). It lets Link travel back in time by 10 seconds to solve puzzles, which all sounds very Prisoner of Azkaban.
Really, what it does is track Link's position and move him back where he was standing 10 seconds beforehand. This means you could leap down to hit a switch without anyway of getting back up - except via time travel to where you were previously standing, the door now open.

Now that July 2020 is coming to a close and a new summer month is upon us, that means that there are new Animal Crossing fish and bugs for players to catch until their nets/rods break from exhaustion. But, on the flip side, this also means that there are some bugs and fish leaving Animal Crossing at the end of July that cannot be caught in August.
Here are the bugs leaving Animal Crossing: New Horizons in July and how/where you can catch them. Luckily, most of the summer fish and bugs are staying until the end of August, so there’s only two critters that are peacing out in a couple of days.
A familiar story works for a show about family
A few months ago, I thought 2020 might be the end of Pokémon Go. Here was this thing millions use as daily motivation to exercise, see friends, feel rewarded for playing, and all of it was suddenly impossible. Socialising and many in-game activities like raids and trading were out of the question. Events were cancelled or indefinitely postponed. A lot of people felt they could no longer play. I remember thinking, even when things did start to get better, if this game could ever fully recover.
Turns out, people still really love playing Pokémon Go. A few months later, more than a million players bought a £15 ticket to this weekend's Go Fest 2020, which offered 20 hours of special bonuses and new creatures to catch. Obviously, things have started to improve in some parts of the world, but Pokémon Go's ability to ride out 2020 has been helped hugely by developer Niantic's numerous additions to make it far more accessible, wherever you might be playing.
So yes, Go Fest 2020 was different to Pokémon Go's usual summer festivities. Instead of hundreds of thousands of people descending on a few key cities worldwide, the event was opened up to everyone. Instead of a specific park with themed areas where you could encounter specific creature types, the game rotated its menageries of monsters on a hourly schedule. And instead of flying a physical hot air balloon overhead to signal the impending arrival of Team Rocket, the game's skybox was instead filled with virtual balloons piloted by the villains - and then celebratory fireworks once all was said and done.

In a game about collecting little critters through dance battle prowess and agriculture, you find yourself overrun with Ooblets awfully quick. Not a problem! They're adorable and only a monster wouldn't want an endless flock of these little followbabies.
Actually, it is a problem. Ooblets has a cap on the number of creatures you can tend to at once. In the early game, it never comes up. You just keep harvesting new Ooblets because you figure more is better. Some can stay home and tend to the crops, others will defend your honor through dance.
Later, once you have access to new Ooblets that you want to try out (and scan for the databasing sidequest), you'll inevitably be hit with a message telling you that you've hit your limit. The only way to add more Ooblets is to spring for more coops. That's probably not where you want to invest your resources at the moment because coops are prohibitively expensive in the context of Ooblets. They require clothlets and oobsidian, both or which are needed for several of the quests you're likely chipping away at.
The balancing of it all is just kinda off, and that's the point of launching in early access. The solution is to jettison some of those Ooblets far away so that they aren't your problem anymore. Don't worry -- they're going to a loving home where they can run around and dance to their hearts' content.
Ooblets update v0.3.60 will let you send Ooblets to the Wildlands for re-homing with Outgrid. This isn't a new playable area -- those are still in progress -- and there's no way to retrieve Ooblets that you've sent away. It's just a quick and effective method of hatching those new Ooblets without needing to grind for more coops.
Temtem has a similar approach to a lot of JRPGs. It uses types to determine how effective attacks are against a specific ally or enemy. As a Temtem tamer, it’s your job to ensure that you keep your squad safe and exploit enemy weaknesses.
But given that we haven’t had over 20 years to learn which types are effective against which type, it can be handy to have a chart to remind you.

The juicy part perhaps came later with the reveal of the photo mode (which you can see in action in the third clip below).
It won’t be ready for launch but it will come with the first free update on August 6.
On the same date, we’ll also get a bunch of paid DLC. This includes Lyon Vastia, Levy McGarden, Lisanna Strauss, and Elfman Strauss.
Additional DLC will include three costume packages. They’ll be the Anime Final Season pack, the Variety pack, and the Special Swimsuits pack.
Each DLC will include 16 costumes for a total of 48.
