Today, during the PC Gaming Show, a trailer for the brand-new PC game, Lakeburg Legacies was revealed. As French developer, Ishtar Games, puts it, their new game is a mix between The Sims and Crusader Kings.
Lakeburg Legacies is essentially a mashup of management and social simulation games with the backdrop of a kingdom. Like other games in the genre, there will be resource management, but at the same time you’ll also be able to set up different members of your kingdom with one another in romantic relationships.
This game will use procedural generation to ensure that every time you start a new game, the townsfolk and scenarios will give you a completely different experience from your past runs.
The trailer also shows off the hand-drawn art style that not only applies to the characters and world map, but even the UI elements look like they were written up by hand.
Lakeburg Legacies is coming on PC via Steam in 2022 and you can add it to your wishlist today. You can check out the official reveal trailer for Lakeburg Legacies down below.
Hello Neighbor 2 has received another new trailer, and this one makes it clear that all is not right with the titular character from across the street.
Streamed during the E3 2021 PC Gaming Showcase livestream held on June 13, the trailer is a blend of cinematics and gameplay. Both elements show off the creepy and unsettling nature of the sequel, while also revealing the inherent danger the protagonist will face over the course of the game.
It starts with Hello Neighbor 2 protagonist Quentin driving along a dark and lonesome road. The few people he passes along the way are cops investigating a ramshackle house, and they shoot him a look that is a mix of indifferent and hostile. Before long, he arrives at the Neighbor’s house, and breaks in with a crowbar.
Not long after, he sees the Neighbor come up out of the basement covered in a black substance. He then follows him into the bathroom to obtain a wrench needed to advance further into the house. Quentin succeeds in getting the wrench, but almost immediately afterward the Neighbor catches him. After that, Quentin’s fate is unknown.
It’s a short, but effective trailer, and it sets up the cat and mouse stealth gameplay that’ll be integral to Hello Neighbor 2’s overall experience nicely. Those looking forward to the game will want to check out the full trailer for themselves down below.
Okomotive, the makers of Far: Lone Sails, have announced their next game is moving away from sandy deserts and getting into the sea. Far: Changing Tides is an exploration game where you're stuck on an abandoned ship in the middle of a drowned world, searching for safety. The world looks bleak, but the art-style is lovely. Its predecessor is an RPS fave too, so this will be one to watch.
The PC Gaming Show live stream just revealed a brand-new settlement management game called Ixion. The game is being developed by Bulwark Studios and published by Kasedo Games, and it’s all about strategy and survival in outer space. It’s planned for a PC release in 2022.
Players are authorized by the DOLOS Aerospace Engineering Corporation (AEC) to take control of the Tiqqun space station as it tries to sustain life in space while looking for the next home for humanity. Today during the PC Gaming Show, we saw another trailer for Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, an upcoming game by Nacon based on the tabletop RPG Vampire: The Masquerade. In the trailer, we got a close look at the character Leysha, who is more than meets the eye.
In Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, you play as three vampires, each belonging to different clans of the secret society Camarilla. Each of the vampires has their own powers, desires, and demons. In this story, your choices decide the fate of Boston.
Here’s what we know about one of those three vampires, the tormented young woman Leysha:
They call her a seer, prophet, or harbinger. But Leysha is far more than the titles bestowed upon her. Caught in the middle of a web of complex relationships spinning around her, she wants nothing more than to protect her daughter, no matter the cost. Swept up in the whirlwind of events following an attack on Boston’s Vampiric Society, Leysha is one of the 3 main characters whose actions will define the fate of Boston in Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong.
In the character trailer, we see Leysha playing with her daughter, Halsey. But very quickly, the game turns into a nightmare, and we see a glimpse of Leysha’s powers. She uses a power called Obfuscate, which one of the many vampiric powers in the game.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store. At this time, no release date has been announced, but the website shares that it is expected to launch sometime this year in 2021.

Square Enix knows about issues with the Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin PS5 demo data being corrupted and is working on a fix.
The post Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin Demo Corrupted at the Moment appeared first on Siliconera.
Final Fantasy is practically synonymous with being extra, and tonally, the trailer for Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin definitely follows suit. The gang’s goal is to defeat Chaos, after all. So it’s kinda funny to see this action-packed drama features attire and character design that looks about as normie as…
Dying Light 2 has received a new video, and it acts as a scene-setter for the game’s tragic backstory and main plot.
Streamed during the E3 2021 PC Gaming Showcase held on June 13, the video sees the game’s creative director Piotr Szymanek dig into the lore surrounding the game and the backstory of its protagonist. Namely, he offers insight into why the protagonist is willing to venture into the zombie-infested streets of the world when others would consider it a suicide mission.
Things kick off with a primer on the state of the world in Dying Light 2. Following the outbreak in the city from the first game, a chemical weapon strike was used in an attempt to deal with the infected. This proved to be a mistake, as the land is now poisoned and a new form of infected have fully taken over the lowest level of the city. This has forced the survivors to live on the rooftops of buildings in new, makeshift communities.
Some survivors, however, still venture into the lower streets. Enter Aiden, the protagonist of the game. Having discovered that his long-lost sister Mia may be in the city, he has come to try and find her, and will go to any lengths to track her down. To that end, he’s willing to journey through the lower streets to figure out where Mia is, where she’s been for so many years, and how his own past played into her disappearance.
It’s a substantial lore dump, but also a good crash course for those who plan on playing Dying Light 2 later this year. The video can be viewed in its entirety down below.

Coming out of the Xbox E3 showcase featured a look at the console versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator as well as a big new cross-over with the upcoming film Top Gun: Maverick.
Having released on PC last August, it can be easy to forget Flight Simulator hasn’t made its way to Xbox Series X and S yet, but the wait will be over on July 27, 2021. A new trailer was captured using a Series X hardware in 4K resolution according to Microsoft. Planes of all kinds are shown flying over oceans, plains, forests, and under bridges. The footage runs smoothly and gives an idea of what players can expect from the conversion from PC to console.
Click here to watch embedded mediaJust after announcing the Xbox release date, we see a shot of the ocean and an aircraft carrier floating stoically in the water. Triumphant music begins to swell as a fighter jet launches from the ship’s runway, emblazoned beneath the cockpit window is “CAPT PETE MITCHELL ‘MAVERICK.’” Top Gun is officially coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator later this year with a collaboration with Paramount Studios promoting the sequel to the popular Tom Cruise movie. The expansion is set to hit sometime in the fall of 2021.
Tower defense title Orcs Must Die 3 will launch for PC via Steam, PlayStation and Xbox on 23rd July.
That's almost exactly a year on from its original release as a timed-exclusive for Stadia, back in July 2020. The news was confirmed this evening, as part of the PC Gaming Show.
The latest game in the Orcs Must Die series features solo and co-op play, and a campaign set 25 years after that of Orcs Must Die 2. Clearly, you were not successful enough at getting rid of all those orcs last time around.
Not much! But Todd Howard and friends want you to dig
After spending several years making vintage Final Fantasy games look worse with remastered re-releases toting blurry graphics and ugly menus, Square Enix might give people what they actually wanted in the first place. During their E3 showcase today, Squeenix announced a "Pixel Remaster" series of Final Fantasies I through VI. Information is vague right now but they sure do look like ye olde FF games with ye olde pixel art.
Today, during the PC Gaming Show, a brand-new trailer for Naraka: Bladepoint was revealed for the upcoming chainsaw weapon. This new weapon is sporting a terrifying demon-like face on the side and the blade appears to be covered in flames.
This 60-player action battle royale is one of the most popular games on Steam and it differs from other majors games in the genre because it features mainly physical weapons instead of guns. And you’ll be able to check out this new weapon revealed today when Naraka: Bladepoint launches worldwide on August 12.
You can also check out the open beta for the game starting on June 16 until June 22. Naraka: Bladepoint is available for PC on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. If you’re interested in checking this out, then you can pre-order the game on the official site right now.
The new chainsaw weapon for Naraka: Bladepoint is coming to the game in August of this year. You can check out the official Naraka: Bladepoint chainsaw trailer down below.
We saw a lot of cool things during today’s Xbox presentation at E3 2021. Starfield, Halo Infinite multiplayer, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 all look fantastic, but they pale in comparison to the Grounded segment, through which the devs at Obsidian Entertainment used the biggest stage in gaming to reveal that players of the…
Obsidian's Honey I Shrunk The Kids-like survival game Grounded has many wonderful creatures, including some excellent ants that Sin said she would die for. Unfortunately, it also has terrifying spiders, and the developers thought it would be a good idea to add an even bigger one. The game's Shroom & Doom update drops on June 30th, bringing with it new mushroomy structures, and the Broodmother.
Back 4 Blood is the spiritual successor of Left 4 Dead, the beloved four-player FPS where players were tasked with surviving the zombie apocalypse while sprinting to safety across an infested America. Back 4 Blood continues that group-based tradition but with bonus modes for you and your friends to dive into. One such mode premiered at the Warner Bros. E3 Conference: a PVP-focused mode, called Swarm Mode, where cleaners (humans) and the ridden (infected) go head-to-head.
When I first got my hands on Back 4 Blood back in 2020, it became instantly clear from the closed-alpha that the developers behind the original Left 4 Dead hadn't lost their touch. The new co-op zombie shooter hit many of the highs of the Valve-published title while adding a new layer of strategy through its intriguing card system and intuitive enemy AI Director. But while the L4D like experience seemed to be coming together, it wasn't clear what the full package was going to be ahead of its October 12 release date.
The picture has become much clearer after developer Turtle Rock Studios' showcase of its new zombie-slayer, giving fans a look at the new Swarm PvEvP mode. Teams of four will square off against one another with one team compiled of the human cleaners versus the player-controlled undead ridden.
To found out more, we went right to the source. Join Liana and Stadnik as they sit down with Matt O'Driscoll, the lead producer at Turtle Rock Studios! We discuss some of the big talking points surrounding the game, including the team's approach to the newly-announced versus mode, whether or not players will have to pay for cards and characters, and how fans will be able to participate in Back 4 Blood's beta, dropping on August 5, 2021.
Microsoft's Xbox and Bethesda Games E3 showcase was chock full of incredible-looking games, but the one that stood out the most for me was Sad Cat Studios' stunning debut, Replaced. It's a 2.5D sci-fi action platformer set in a grim dystopian city, but heavens to betsy, it has the most gorgeous pixel art I ever did see.
If you missed Square Enix's E3 2021 showcase this evening, worry not, as we've rounded up all the important news, trailers and PC announcements right here in handy list format. While not super heavy on big new exclusives (alas, still no news on FF16 or when Final Fantasy VII Remake might be leaving the console realm for PC sadly), but we did get to see the world premiere of Eidos Montreal's new Marvel Guardians Of The Galaxy game, as well as the first gameplay footage of Team Ninja's hotly rumoured Final Fantasy Origin game. Whether you need a recap or just plain missed it in all the E3 excitement, here's everything you need to know.
The Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that has, and I say this not as hyperbole, been a game-changer for the industry. Day one launch titles available at no additional cost? A chance for gamers to explore outside of their comfort zone without needing to shell out 60 bucks? It's great, and it's only going to grow from here. That being said, Xbox shared a lot of new Xbox Game Pass additions in its E3 2021 showcase. For those that may have missed out, here's what you need to know.
With the show coming right out of the gate with an extensive look at Starfield and the confirmation that it will be on Xbox Game Pass at launch, here are all of the confirmed games that are coming to the service for this year and going into 2022.
Who could forget dear Rat Boy? As revealed at the Xbox and Bethsda E3 2021, next year brings us A Plague Tale: Requiem, the further adventures of rat-whisperer Hugo and his sling-wielding sister Amicia.
Little is yet known about this sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence, except that it is a direct sequel and will once again feature the medieval French siblings "doing whatever it takes to survive a brutal, uncaring world."
The larger part of the Microsoft Flight Simulator announcement at tonight's Microsoft E3 showcase was that it's coming to Xbox Series X|S. There was a brief glimpse of something for us at the end of the trailer, though: there's a free expansoin coming later this year to tie-in with Top Gun: Maverick.
Take one fun-loving Final Fantasy party in lively outfits, add an angry protagonist in murderdad casualwear with a tendency to growl about CHAOS, and you have yourself one weird spin-off. Square Enix today announced Stranger Of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, a "mature" stabby RPG made by Team Ninja, the studio behind the Nioh and Ninja Gaiden games. Huh. Check out the announcement trailer below.

With another year of E3 in the books for Square Enix, Eidos Montreal’s rumored Guardians of the Galaxy world premiere was a major highlight. Square Enix also gave fans a look at what’s coming for Final Fantasy, Marvel’s Avengers, Life is Strange, Babylon’s Fall, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Normally, when I watch shows or play games with superheroes in, I always end up thinking about how cool it'd be to have their powers, but I don't get that with Life Is Strange. In the latest trailer for Life Is Strange: True Colours, we see new character Alex Chen putting her empathy abilities to the test. She can feel other people's emotions, which must be so mentally taxing! Albeit, useful in Life Is Strange's angsty teen stories.
Following the reveal at the Square Enix Presents livestream, the publisher released the first screenshots and official details about Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin.
We get to see the game’s characters and scenes from gameplay, which is being developed by Koei Tecmo’s Team Ninja. On top of that, we also take a look at the key art.
You can check all the images out below.
Tonight brought us a first look at Life is Strange: True Colors' new special power of empathy, in fresh gameplay shown during the Square Enix Presents E3 showcase.
True Colors protagonist Alex Chen has had this power for some time - unlike in previous Life is Strange games - but is only learning to control it now as she uses it to uncover the true story of her brother's mysterious death.
You'll hear people's inner thoughts, and use this to learn secrets - though what you do with this information is up to you. Powerful emotions will let Alex experience someone's emotional state, and see a changed version of her surroundings, but also put Alex in a place where she's experiencing that emotion too.
Announcements and trailers for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Life is Strange: True Colors, and Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin
Back in May, rumours began circulating that Square Enix was collaborating with Nioh developer Team Ninja on an action-focussed Final Fantasy spin-off titled Final Fantasy Origin. Well, it turns out those rumours weren't far off at all! Square has now officially unveiled Team Ninja's action-RPG Final Fantasy spin-off, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins.
Stranger of Paradise follows a band of adventurers who, as the trailer repeatedly reminds us, want to kill chaos. Or at least stab it in the face a few times until its head pops off. "Jack and his allies, Ash and Jed, burn with resolve to defeat Chaos as they throw open the gates to the Chaos Shrine," Square elaborates in its announcement, "Yet doubts remain-are they truly the Warriors of Light the prophecy foretold?".
May's rumours suggested the game would slot into the action sub-genre occupied by the likes of Team Ninja's Nioh games and From Software's Souls series, albeit with a more accessible focus, and today's reveal appears to support that. Square is promising "exhilarating, action-packed battles" against iconic Final Fantasy monsters in a "world of dark fantasy".
Babylon's Fall was first revealed back in 2018 and has been MIA ever since. It was re-revealed tonight at E3 2021, and looks more or less as I remember it. It's a live service hack-and-slasher from Platinum Games, and developers during Square Enix's E3 showcase basically pitched it as a Nier Automata that never ends.
Find the trailer below.
The Square Enix Presents stream just gave us a look at some new Life is Strange: True Colors gameplay as well as another trailer for the upcoming Life is Strange Remastered Collection for the previous games in the series. True Colors is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Sept. 10, while the Remastered Collection launches for the same platforms later the same month, on Sept. 30.
Alex Chen is the main character in Life is Strange: True Colors, and her powers allow her to feel the strong emotions of those around her. Players will need to use this ability to uncover the mystery surrounding her brother’s death.
You can check out the trailer below to see these powers in action for yourself:
This next trailer goes back a bit and lets us see some of the improvements made to Max and Chloe’s stories in Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm.
Koei Tecmo Games and Square Enix Japan have teamed up to develop “a bold new vision for Final Fantasy.” This new action game has been dubbed Stranger Of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.
The trailer was presented as the finale to the Square Enix E3 show had plenty of in-game footage. A t-shirt wearing blonde man named Jack battles alongside his cohorts Ash and Jed throughout gothic environment of the Chaos Shrine revealing this is a departure from the gameplay one would expect from a classic Final Fantasy. Combat looks to include a finishing moves which turn monsters and other enemies into crystal to be disposed of permanently. The trailer also features the classic Final Fantasy villain Garland who claims he has now become “Chaos,” a word that is uttered throughout the trailer footage. Jack claims he has a deep urge to destroy Chaos. While that term refers to Garland or a grander concept is unclear.
Click here to watch embedded mediaFollowing the reveal at the Square Enix Presents livestream, the publisher revealed brand new screenshots and details of Babylon’s Fall by PlatinumGames.
We get to see heroes and enemies in action, alongside the game’s world “painted” in its rather unique shader.
You can check them all out below alongside the new key artwork.
Today, during the Square Enix Presents Summer Showcase, a new game based in the Final Fantasy universe was revealed with the title Stranger in Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. As the trailer puts it, the title is, “A bold new vision for Final Fantasy.”
Throughout the trailer, we see a team of four warriors fighting enemies on their way to the top of a castle. Most of the attacks they use are just done with their swords, but a few times they get hands-on and throw some recognizable Final Fantasy enemies around the stone corridors.
It’s currently unclear if this will purely be an action game or if it’ll still maintain some RPG aspects of the mainline Final Fantasy games.
Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC in 2022. If you own a PS5, then you’ll get to check out this new title sooner than anyone else. It’s not exactly clear when this is happening, but a demo will be available on PS5 sometime soon.
