billy kametz

Point of Contact Booking announced that voice actor Billy Kametz has died. The cause of death was colon cancer. He was 35 years old. Kametz was grateful to his fans’ support when he first announced his diagnosis. Instead of sending flowers, his online obituary states that fans should consider contributing to the Colon Cancer Coalition under Kametz’ name.

Kametz was a voice actor, whose prominent roles include Ferdinand in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Josuke Higashikata in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, and Galo Thymos in Promare. He entered the entertainment industry through his work as a cast member on a Disney cruise line. Then, in 2016, he started his voice acting career, with roles such as Agent Coulson in Marvel Avengers Academy.

Characters like Josuke and Galo may not require new voice actors due to their respective works concluding in English. Kametz' voice work for Ferdinand will appear in the upcoming Fire Emblem: Three Hopes, releasing on June 24, 2022.

While it’s not one of the biggest games on the gacha market, NieR Re[in]carnation continues to be possibly the most unique gacha game out there. It’s certainly one of the most stylish looking ones, and if you’re a fan of the Drakengard and NieR universe, there’s a lot to look forward to this week.

Square Enix and Applibot have just announced that they’ll be hosting a rerun of the Drakengard 3 event and banner in the game this week, bringing back Zero’s costumes, as well as Akeha and Fio’s Drakengard 3-themed costumes. The Samsung Gaming Hub Hopes To Capitalize Upon Ever-Improving Cloud Gaming Tech

1 year 10 months ago

Earlier this month, Samsung and Xbox revealed that Xbox Cloud Gaming is joining the likes of Stadia, GeForce Now, and Utomik as another game-streaming service offered as a part of the Samsung Gaming Hub, a new update coming to all 2022 Samsung smart televisions on June 30. I had a chance to sit in on a demo to learn the ins and outs of the new hub and play Halo Infinite and Flight Simulator to get a sense of how the new gaming hub works.

Beginning with this update, 2022 Samsung TV owners can access distinct media and gaming hubs. The Media Hub has been re-optimized from its previous iterations to focus on video apps such as Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon. However, the big addition to the upcoming TV update is the Gaming Hub. In this all-new section, you can access a special screen designed specifically for gamers – in particular, cloud gamers.

After pairing the controller of your choice (PlayStation, Xbox, and many third-party Bluetooth controllers work), you can access your library of Xbox Cloud (available through Game Pass Ultimate), Stadia, GeForce Now, and Utomik cloud titles. In addition, Xbox Live chat is available at launch, while potentially more chat options are coming at launch or shortly thereafter.

Smash four different robots into other robots in whip-fast roguelite Morbid Metal

1 year 10 months ago

The trailer for Morbid Metal from tonight's Future Games Show had a lot of metal (the music genre) and metal (the stuff you make blades out of). Morbid Metal is a hack 'n' slash, but the difference here is that you have four different mech lads at your disposal, and you can morph between them whenever you like. This real-time switching means Morbid Metal moves very quickly. You might think hyphenated phrases like "high-octane", "action-packed", and "fast-paced" are moving in the direction of this game, but buddy this is going at such speed that they're already here.

New Holoearth and Hololive Alternative Trailers Released

1 year 10 months ago

holoearth hololive alternative

Cover released teaser trailers on two upcoming Hololive projects: Hololive Alternative and Holoearth. As a reminder, Holoearth is a metaverse sandbox project, while Hololive Alternative will feature the VTubers in a fantasy story. While Holoearth’s trailer only shows the members of JP, VTubers from other regions appear in Hololive Alternative’s.

Both trailers feature a nameless female avatar, who will likely serve as an audience surrogate. The Holoearth concept movie shows the girls roughing it out in the wilderness. Activities include defeating wildlife, making a house, and dancing around a bonfire. During the gameplay trailer that Cover released in 2021, it released screenshots that showed how you can control Hololive characters to perform these tasks.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9H5sZ3E4fg

The song for Hololive Alternative’s trailer is “story time,” which is sung by Star Flower. Star Flower consists of Hoshimachi Suisei, AZKi, Moona Hoshinova, and IRyS. There are already various stories set in the Hololive Alternative world. For example, Manga-Up and Holonometria have the Holoearth Chronicles Side:E Yamato Phantasia comic online. This story features Fubuki and Mio.

Project Ill is now just Ill, but remains a mysterious Cronenbergian nightmare

1 year 10 months ago

Last year a couple of brothers posted a concept trailer for an FPS horror game that didn't exist (named Project Ill). Well, those brothers are now Team Clout and that game now exists, albeit called simply Ill. I've not got much to point you towards - there's no Steam Store page, no high-res press screens, no release window. Even calling the video from the Future Games Show a gameplay trailer is taking the biscuit, if not most of the factory floor at McVities. But the vibes, as they say, are immaculate: bare feet on a grubby floor, shambling horrors with many half-glimpsed appendages, and a gun that is surely too small to protect you from any of it. Resident Evil but injected with your most virulent 2022 strain.

Tinykin is a Pikmin-like adventure coming this August

1 year 10 months ago

Tinykin is about an astronaut named Milo returning to earth after a long space voyage. Milo might reasonably fall to his knees and scream "You blew it up, damn you!" when he gets there, because the earth he lands upon has been blown up several times larger than normal - either that or he's been made much smaller and is now the size of a penny. Milo must then have to navigate the abandoned world with a Pikmin-like army of aliens by his side, ready to solve puzzles.

It looks great, and after being announced last year, Tinykin now has a release date of August 30th.

Indigenous cybernoir detective game Hill Agency: PURITYdecay is not your dad's hardboiled crime thriller

1 year 10 months ago

If there's anything I've learned from today's Future Of Play event, it's that stylish futuristic dystopian mysteries are where it's at right now in the indie scene, and I for one am all in favour. One of the coolest announcements at the event was Hill Agency: PURITYdecay, described as an "Indigenous cybernoir detective game" and in the works at Achimostawinan Games. Although maybe "in the works" isn't quite an accurate description, because the game is in fact out very soon: on August 31st this year, to be exact.

The trailer is a pitch-perfect hearkening back to the golden age hardboiled detective stories of the 1940s — complete with a black-and-white palette with just the occasional hint of colour to highlight the high-tech parts. High-tech because, despite its 20th century influences, this game is set quite far in the future, in 2262. It's not exactly a nice vision of the world in 240 years' time, though, as the narrator is quick to point out that it's riddled with "crime, conflict, and propaganda". Truly holding up a mirror to our times, then.

Serial Cleaners' New Trailer Demonstrates How To Scrub Away The Most Stubborn Stains

1 year 10 months ago

2017's Serial Cleaner was all about stealthfully infiltrating a murder scene and cleaning up the mess before the cops got their hands on any evidence. Developer Draw Distance is taking that concept and expanding on it further with Serial Cleaners, offering more ways to play and even more gruesome crimes to cover up.

Unlike its 70s-inspired predecessor, Serial Cleaners pulls from pop culture of the 1990s, including Quinten Tarantino's body of work and other classic action and crime thrillers of the era. Once again, stealth is core to the experience; you can't let the authorities know what happened at each crime scene. Serial Cleaners brings four characters to mop up blood, bodies, and clues, each handling business in their own way. Players will utilize these new cleaners' street smarts, tech, brute force, or classic know-how to get the job done.

If you're ready to aid and abet in some gnarly virtual killings, Serial Cleaners is set to release on September 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise Is Out Now on PC via Steam

1 year 10 months ago

Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise, which launched as a Switch exclusive in 2020, is now out on PC via Steam.

Announced during the Future Games Show, Deadly Premonition is a sequel to the 2010 cult-classic survival horror original and this new entry follows FBI Agent Aaliyah Davis as she investigates a string of murders.

The game serves as a prequel and a sequel to the original, and the prequel part will see players taking on the role of a younger Special Agent York from the first game as they investigate another crime in the fictional town of Le Carre, Louisana.

In our Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise review, we said that it "isn’t good, nor is it so bad that it’s good (like it’s predecessor). It’s something much, much worse: it’s mediocre. And that’s too bad."

The arrival of Deadly Premonition 2 on PC is just one of many announcements that have been part of the many events that are included in IGN's Summer of Gaming.

Arctic Awakening Gets Chilly New Trailer

1 year 10 months ago

We got a new look today at Arctic Awakening, the upcoming first-person narrative game from GoldFire Studios. Players control Kai, a cargo pilot who was on a relatively routine supply delivery to a small Alaskan town with his partner, when their plane goes down in the middle of nowhere. Donovan, the co-pilot, is lost out in the cold and snowy wastes, and Kai sets out to find him.

As Kai, you must explore the freezing cold wilds, and the environment is a constant threat. The game is set in April of 2062, so there are a few things that are a bit different than one might expect to find in a modern-day setting, including a court-mandated therapy bot that is along with you on your journey. The AI drone has no shortage of pithy commentary to share with you as you navigate the wilderness, but has little in the way of helpful tools or weapons that might aid in your survival efforts.

Beyond the exploration elements, Arctic Awakening focuses on narrative choice, and the way those choices shift the relationships and situations of the characters around you. The decisions you make also affect the way the game ends.

Beyond narrative elements, GoldFire Studios is promising dynamic weather that shifts over time, meaning even areas you’ve visited already may be different when you return to them a second time.

As Kai explores, it becomes increasingly apparent that something more sinister is going on out there in the wilderness. High-tech facilities and mysterious technology is everywhere, providing a sense of mystery tinged with terror.

Deadly Premonition 2 is sadly too bad to be good this time

1 year 10 months ago

I adore Deadly Premonition, a game which shines despite substantial elements being janky or bad. The 2010 horror game about an oddball FBI agent investigating ritual murders in small-town America is not "so bad it's good", it's so good it doesn't matter that it's bad (and maybe the badness even amplifies the good). Well, I've been playing Deadly Premonition 2 ahead of its PC release today, and I'm sorry to say the sequel does not shake out the same way. Despite some bright spots, enough of Deadly Premonition 2 is bad that I've given up.

Explore An Enchanting World In Snufkin: Melody Of Moominvalley

1 year 10 months ago

Making another appearance since the recent Wholesome Direct, Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley shows off some whimsical gameplay at the Future Games Show. If you haven't encountered this enchanting game before, this is how the creators describe it on their website.

A musical adventure game in which Snufkin needs to restore the harmony of Moominvalley, after a series of grotesque parks has appeared and ruined the valley's natural balance. The game is an ambient and wholesome experience for both kids and adults, and combines open world-mechanics with puzzles, stealth and melodic elements.

On top of that, the game's painterly art direction is stunning. While we can't tell you precisely what a Moonin is, you can check out the trailer below to see if you can figure it out for yourself.

Deadly Premonition 2 Now Available On PC

1 year 10 months ago

The cult sequel Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise is now available on PC. Announced on the Future Games Show, the game is available on Steam and currently has a launch discount to boot.

The launch discount brings it down to $28 from a regular price of $40. That price will be available through June 18. The Steam page notes that a controller is needed because keyboard-and-mouse controls aren't supported.

The Switch version had notoriously poor performance and it remains to be seen if this PC port (or future updates and mods) will iron it out. The Steam announcement does note that this version includes technical improvements. Those include unspecified higher resolutions and performance improvements, in addition to faster loading times. You can check out the very modest system specs below.

Deadly Premonition 2 launched on Nintendo Switch almost a year ago, in July 2021. And while it was the long-awaited follow-up to a cult classic, the reception was less than glowing. It received a mixed reception on GameSpot sister site Metacritic with a 56 as its current metascore.

"If you can get past its performance, there are glimpses of a good story here, and moments that make it a worthy installment in the Francis Zach Morgan saga," Kurt Indovina wrote in GameSpot's Deadly Premonition 2 review. "But, ultimately, Deadly Premonition 2 lacks the emotional resonance found in the first game. It's a different brew of coffee from your favorite roaster, but one that's more bitter than you probably hoped for."

The Last of Us Part 2 Has Sold Over 10 Million Copies

1 year 10 months ago

Naughty Dog has confirmed that, as of Spring 2022, The Last of Us Part 2 has sold over 10 million copies.

The milestone was shared in the "The Growing Future of The Last of Us" article on PlayStation.Blog, the same one that gave further details on The Last of Us Part 1 remake, the standalone multiplayer game set in its universe, and HBO's The Last of Us series.

The Last of Us Part 2 was released on June 19, 2020, and quickly became the fastest-selling PS4 exclusive at the time by selling over four million copies in its first three days.

Since then, The Last of Us Part 2 has received a PS5 exclusive performance update that pushed the already-impressive game to 60 frames per second.

On September 2, fans will get to experience the original The Last of Us in a way that much more resembles the sequel thanks to the upcoming remake that promises new enemy AI based on The Last of Us Part 2, 60FPS performance, and new combat options.

Portal-Like Puzzle Game The Entropy Centre Is Coming To Xbox, PlayStation, And PC Later This Year

1 year 10 months ago

If you're looking for a game that'll make your brain hurt, but ya know, in a good way, look no further. Stubby Game's The Entropy Centre is coming later this year.

The Portal-esque puzzler takes place on a colossal space station in orbit of Earth, where a woman and her cheeky AI companion, ASTRA, are tasked with saving the world after an extinction level event set it ablaze. In order to do this, they are sent to the Entropy Centre, a space station filled with complex puzzles they must solve in order to generate entropy energy. To solve puzzles, your character must use ASTRA--who takes shape as a sort of space-time distorting gun--to reverse objects through time.

By doing this and creating entropy energy, it seems possible that the duo can generate enough to reverse time on Earth and go back to a point before the catastrophe. However, as you solve each room's puzzles and get closer to the core of the space station, you also grow closer to "an unfortunate truth" your character might not like to hear.

The Entropy Centre is scheduled to arrive on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Playstation 5, and PC later this year.
