Former President of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime has revealed that he had to "politely decline" an offer to work with Kanye West on a video game concept due to the amount of other projects that were currently in development at the company. As reported by Nintendo Everything, Reggie shared the story on his Talking Games with Reggie & Harold podcast, which is raising money for the New York Videogame Critics Circle nonprofit's mentoring work, and he stated that the meeting happened at an E3 "many years ago." Kanye visited the Nintendo Booth during that E3 and was even able to spend a bit of time with Shigeru Miyamoto. He then requested a meeting with Reggie, and the two ended up meeting up at one of Kanye's offices in Calabasas, California. "He was experimenting with a piece of video game content; he wanted reactions to it. He comes out and says, ‘I want to work with Nintendo.’ "We had so many different projects at Nintendo going on, the possibility of doing something with Kanye just wasn’t there, and so I had to find a way to politely decline this opportunity to work with him. I told him, ‘Kanye, you don’t want to work with us because we’re tough, we’re hard. All we do is push for the very best content. We would not be the type of partner you would want to work with.’ And he looks at me and says, ‘Reggie, you’re exactly the type of partner I want because of that reason!’ It’s like, ‘Oh my gosh.'” Reggie said that not only was the meeting "interesting," Kim Kardashian-West was also there.

A lost, unreleased Game Boy add-on known as the WorkBoy has been discovered after 28 years and reveals an accessory that could have brought PDA-like functions like an address book, calculator, appointment book, and so much more to Nintendo's beloved handheld device. Video game historian Liam Robertson shared his quest to find out what happened to this add-on in a new Game History Secrets video on DidYouKnowGaming? and, not only did he track down the original creators behind the WorkBoy to learn the story behind why it was never released, he was able to get one of the only prototypes in the world working. As you can see in the image below, the WorkBoy was a keyboard that connected to the Game Boy via Link Cable and would allow you to take advantage of 12 apps, including an address/phone book and appointment book. Steam has revealed its Best of 2020 lists, and while it doesn't rank the top games, they do give a glimpse as to what games earned the most gross revenue and had the most players. Steam's Best of 2020 lists include Top Sellers, New Releases, Most Played, Early Access Grads, Best of VR, and Controller Games and games like Cyberpunk 2077, Grand Theft Auto V, Destiny 2, Counter-Strike, and DOTA 2 appear in multiple categories. Google has released its annual list of global trending searches and it perfectly encapsulates the biggest moments of the year we can't wait to put behind us. Among some of the top searches were Chadwick Boseman, Among Us, and Tiger King. Put simply, these aren't necessarily the most-searched terms of the year, just the most popular as compared to last year. Gaming saw a big increase in 2020 as many needed to shelter-in-place, with record-breaking spending at the beginning of the year. Topping Google's list of top trending searches for gaming globally were Among Us and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, which both saw incredible popularity due to their accessibility and multiplayer nature. Valorant, Genshin Impact, and The Last of Us Part 2 also populated the list. Update (12/26/20) - Nintendo's Network Status page is no longer reporting any issues with users connecting to the Nintendo Switch eShop and says that "All servers are operating normally." [poilib element="accentDivider"] If you just received a new Nintendo Switch for the holidays and can't connect to the eShop to download new games, you aren't alone. Nintendo has announced that it is "aware that players are experiencing errors accessing Nintendo eShop, and are working to address the issue as soon as possible." Nintendo took to Twitter to give the news and also said "Thank you for your understanding, and please see our Network Status page for the latest updates." You can click here to check the status of the Nintendo eShop, and we will update this article when services appear to be working again. As of this writing, when you go to Nintendo's Network Maintenance Information page, it has a notice that players could be receiving when trying to access the eShop that says, "Unable to connect to the network service. Please try again later. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause." Considering today is Christmas, the cause of these network issues could very well be the many new Nintendo Switch consoles that were opened today or those with gift cards trying to purchase new games. As previously mentioned, we will update this article as soon as we hear the problems are fixed.

Update (12/23/20) - CD Projekt Red has released Hotfix 1.06 for Cyberpunk 2077 that thankfully removes the 8MB save file size limit that was causing certain save files to become permanently corrupt if they went over that limit. Unfortunately, this will not fix save files that were corrupted before the update. Hotfix 1.06 also improves memory management and stability on consoles - which will result in fewer crashes - and makes sure "Dum Dum will no longer go missing from Totentanz entrance during Second Conflict." Original story follows. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Those playing Cyberpunk 2077 should be aware that if their save files get above 8MB, they may become permanently corrupt and unusable. Redditor MagicTacoSauce posted a PSA alerting others to the issue, and GOG.com - which is owned by Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red - offered a response that is not overly promising. "Unfortunately the save is damaged and can't be recovered," The statement reads. "Please use an older save file to continue playing and try to keep a lower amount of items and crafting materials. If you have used the item duplication glitch, please load a save file not affected by it.

Sony Pictures Chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra has revealed that his studio is currently developing seven TV shows and three movies based on PlayStation games. As reported by Media Post, Vinciquerra announced the news while talking about Sony's idea to have much more integration between all of its entertainment properties, including PlayStation. “We have no specific plan yet,” Vinciquerra said. “But we have a program within the company called One Sony... After exiting our atmosphere, space radiation becomes an issue and something that scientists are still looking to understand. "Going forward, our goal is to get a better idea of underlying mechanisms, of what's going on during long-duration space flight in the human body, and how it varies between people," said Susan Bailey, a biologist from Colorado State University.
