Over two decades after its original PlayStation release, Chrono Cross is finally seeing the light of day again with Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition. It’s a fascinating remaster on a technical level, offering an identical reproduction of the original but with the option to turn on improved visuals including clearer text, retouched visuals, and new character portraits. The rest looks like it leaped right out of 1999 and into our fancy 4K TVs, giving it the thematically appropriate vibe of being temporally displaced.
Chrono Cross, despite its age, is well-worth playing today for any number of reasons - among them the amazing IGN review score it earned back in 1999. The praise our review offered then for elements like the gripping story and great combat system almost entirely holds up with the remaster, barring a few ignorable performance issues on Switch. And as an RPG classic from Square Enix greats Masato Kato (Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Final Fantasy XI) and Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Shadow Hearts, and tons more), Chrono Cross certainly merits a visit or revisit all on its own, especially since it’s not been easily available without access to an old physical copy or PlayStation Classics. But the real jewel in the crown of the Radical Dreamers collection is one that could potentially be ignored despite being right there in the title: Radical Dreamers itself, the packed-in text-based adventure bridge game between Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.
After the original’s cliffhanger ending, finally returning to Moss’s storybook world was a wonderful and long-awaited treat. Who wouldn’t want to assist an adorable mouse in VR, helping them take down fearsome bosses and overcome platforming challenges in order to save the world? Moss: Book 2 wastes no time, kicking off moments after the first game’s ending and then building upon much of what made it so memorable, even when the aging PSVR tech its currently confined to can’t quite keep up.
While I’d suggest playing Moss first (it’s only a few hours long and very good), Book 2 still manages to be a welcoming sequel for newcomers. Told like a fairy tale, it has you controlling both a mouse named Quill and the human-sized Reader flipping through her story yet again, this time as she’s hunted down by a winged tyrant called Tylan. Like before, this isn’t necessarily the strongest story, but it’s a follow-up that at least improves on other aspects like worldbuilding. You’ll learn more about Cinder Night, the event where Arcane forces brought Quill’s kingdom to heel, and there’s an interesting but underdeveloped cast who bear mental scars from that tragedy. Book 2 intrigued me with its late-game revelations and, once again, I found myself wanting more. Developer Polyarc evidently listened to previous criticism, so it at least doesn’t end on a total cliffhanger this time, but there’s definitely space left for a follow up too.
Today third-party developers had new assets and releases to share regarding add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
First of all, we get a development update from IndiaFoxtEcho, which revealed progress done on the Sukhoi Su-31 and M-346 Master, on top of announcing the TA-4J Skyhawk and revealing the first screenshot. We also hear a bit about the Eurofighter Typhoon.
SU-31 – RELEASE SOON! We have been trying to release the SU-31 in these days, but we were not happy with the quality of the Release Candidate builds. That being said, the latest build seems much better and we think that the package will be available before Easter.
M-346 – WIP We apologize for the lack of news on this project, but a couple of weeks ago one M-346 crashed in the real world and one of the pilot died. Therefore we refrained from posting anything on our recreational virtual rendition.The project is looking very good and it is moving forward at a steady pace – we hope it will be available for release before summer.T
A-4J – FIRST SCREENSHOT We have started doing some “serious” work on our Skyhawk family for MSFS. As for our other project, we do not want this to be a lazy conversion from our P3D assets: we have started reworking the external model to fix a number of inaccuracies, while the virtual cockpit will be redone from scratch. It looks promising but it will take a while before it will be ready.

Severance follows Mark Scout as he heads a team of employees that have undergone a daring new procedure that divides each person’s memories between their work and personal lives. Acting as the vessel for a god gave him powers like unmatched martial arts abilities, superhuman strength, and even immortality but it also came with a harsh side-effect, causing him to suffer from dissociative identity disorder (DID).

Remedy and Rockstar Games have announced they will be remaking Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne.
In a surprise announcement Remedy will work with Rockstar under a new publishing agreement to remake the first two Max Payne games for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Remedy will handle development while Rockstar will finance the project "which will be in line with a typical Remedy AAA-game production."
The Max Payne remakes will also be developed on Remedy's Northlight game engine, the same engine used to develop Control and the upcoming Alan Wake 2.
The original Max Payne games were also a result of a partnership between Remedy and Rockstar, with Remedy handling development and Rockstar Games publishing. Rockstar also handled the development of Max Payne 3.
"We were thrilled when our long-time friends at Remedy approached us about remaking the original Max Payne games," said Rockstar founder Sam Houser. "We are massive fans of the work the Remedy team has created over the years and we can't wait to play these new versions."
Remedy CEO Tero Virtala added, "Max Payne has always held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Remedy, and we know the millions of fans worldwide feel the same."
Virtala added that the team is excited to "bring the story, action and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games back to players in new ways."
Remedy Entertainment is returning to the franchise that made the studio a noteworthy name in the game industry and will remake Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. The announcement comes with word that Remedy has struck an agreement with Rockstar Games to develop the remake.
The deal is for Remedy to make one big remake encompassing both classic Max Payne titles. The game will be targeting a release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC and will utilize its Northlight game engine. Rockstar will be fronting the bill for development, which will be budgeted to be "in line with a typical Remedy AAA-game production," according to a press release provided by Remedy. Remedy will collect royalties on the game after Rockstar has recouped its funding from development and publishing. No release window for the project was given.
Remedy CEO Tero Virtala remarked on the agreement, saying, "We're hugely excited to be working with our partners at Rockstar Games once again for the chance to bring the story, action and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games back to players in new ways."
Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar, owns the rights to the Max Payne IP, and Rockstar itself developed Max Payne 3, which was released in 2012. Remedy and Apogee Software sold the rights to the series for $10 million in cash and stock shares in 2002, a year prior to the release of Max Payne 2.

With the cancellation of E3 2022 finalized last week, the summer of gaming press conferences and announcements that typically start in June is up in the air. THQ Nordic, however, is confident in its plans and has revealed the date and time for its second annual digital showcase.
We may be slowly turning a corner in the GPU market, as graphics cards are gently dipping in price and approaching their MSRP. Case in point is the star of today's deal post, the Gigabyte RX 6600 Eagle 8GB. This entry-level AMD GPU is designed for 1080p and 1440p gaming, and has been dropped $30 to reach $369.99 at Amazon today.
Nvidia's RTX 3080 Ti and 3090 Ti graphics cards aren only a bit faster than the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 that came before them, but they are proving much easier to get ahold of at their (admittedly high) recommended retail prices.

Film noir sad sack Max Payne is getting his due with a full remake of the first two games, developer Remedy Entertainment announced today. The new compilation will include both Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max and be exclusive to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

The highs and lows have been well-documented, but the Sonic movie franchise has been a source of happiness for gamers looking to see their favorite titles on the big screen. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 continues that trend of good video game movies, and we're sitting down with the cast and crew to find out how they did it.

For those keen to get onto Arrakis and prove your worth, you won’t have much longer to wait. Developers Shiro Games and publisher Funcom have revealed that Dune: Spice Wars will enter Steam Early Access this coming April 26 on PC.
Based on Frank Herbert’s sci-fi novels and universe, the 4X and real-time strategy hybrid will pit the four different factions of House Atreides, House Harkonnen, the Smugglers, and the newly revealed Fremen against each other in a bid to control spice, the most valuable resource out there.
Sometimes, going back to one’s roots could be the way forward. At least, that appears to be the case with Remedy Entertainment. In a surprising announcement, Remedy has shared that the studio will be remaking both Max Payne and Max Payne 2 in an agreement with Rockstar Games.
Of course, these were the two same parties that gave us the Max Payne games in the first place. Now, the remakes will come under the new publishing agreement and will come to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The games will also utilize the Northlight game engine, which powers the likes of Control and the upcoming Alan Wake sequel.
As video games get more expensive to make, and publishers grow ever more adverse to taking risks with that expenditure, the last few years have seen a growing trend of old video games being made new once more.
Nintendo has announced that Mario Golf is the next Nintendo 64 title coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription, and it’ll be available for subscribers to play later this month on April 15.
Mario Golf for the N64 was the first installment of the Mario Golf series and originally was released in 1999. The latest in the series, Mario Golf Super Rush, was released on the Switch last year. If you want to experience the game that started the series, you’ll soon be able to when it comes to the NSO library.

Unveiled late last year, Haunted Chocolatier is a brand new game from Eric Barone, AKA ConcernedApe, who’s well-known for developing and releasing Stardew Valley. This game also features a beautiful pixel art aesthetic similar to what we saw in Stardew Valley, and will task the player with running a chocolatier while dealing with various supernatural elements as well.
In a livestreamed interview with Reason Studios, Barone revealed a brand new track from the game, titled Bee Boss. You can check out the track down below, as well as the rest of the interview. Thanks, PC Gamer.
The track itself is a mesh of trumpets and really catchy synths, and perhaps the biggest reveal here is that there are probably going to be boss battles in the game, which were never a thing in Stardew Valley.

Today Atlus released its new daily trailer of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, showing another element included in the game.
This time around the trailer brings us back to one of the locations of the game, “Pizza Bon Appetite” and specifically talks about one of the dishes available there, Pizza Pescatore, which is a variety that focuses on seafood toppings.
As usual, we also get the daily horoscope and we go back to the ranking format, with Gemini at the bottom and Virgo at the top. This is honestly getting weird.

Today Nihon Falcom released the first trailer and a gallery of screenshots and artwork of its the upcoming JRPG by Nihon Falcom The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II – Crimson Sin.
The trailer gives a small glimpse at the story and alongside the screenshots provides a look at several returning and new characters (more details were provided on the latest issue of Famitsu).
Do keep in mind that if you have not played The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki (which most of us haven’t, since it hasn’t been released in English), some of the content below could be considered including spoilers.
We also see the return of fishing, which has been expanded, and the ability to use Arts on the action version of the battle system (which can be switched to turn-based like in the previous game).

The first big fix for Gran Turismo 7's launch issues – chiefly its grim grind made all the more unpalatable by the presence of microtransactions – is now live, boosting payouts for campaign and online events and making some other welcome changes along the way.
New events have been introduced, with big races at Le Mans, Sardegna and Tokyo Expressway slotting in alongside other tweaked races towards the end of the campaign that now all deliver bigger payouts. There are new 1 hour endurance events available once you've reached Collector Level 23 – all coming under 'The Human Comedy' banner, which is rather apt for the discipline – while online events will also now offer bigger payouts. Elsewhere the in-game credit cap has been lifted and more legendary cars will be listed in the auction house at any one time.
And there's more! Off-road physics, which were a bit waywards, have now been grounded, some graphical tweaks have taken place and plenty more besides – you can see the full rundown of what's new in Gran Turismo 7 version 1.11 in the extensive patchnotes.
Grab your dual Berettas and scrunch your face up real hard, because oh me oh my Remedy have announced they're going to remake Max Payne and Max Payne 2. The remakes are still extremely early in development, so Remedy have little to say and even less to show, but all I need to know is: Max Payne, baby!
Update: Cyberpunk 2077 now looks out of stock at Best Buy. We'll keep an eye out, but for it now it's looking like the deal has expired before the end of the day.
Cyberpunk 2077 just got a pretty significant update in February, and plenty of us took the time to jump back into Night City and take on a few more gigs. Maybe a few of you even checked out the 5-hour trial CD Projekt RED put out on Xbox and PS5 as well. Well, if you can find time away from Elden Ring, and want to pick up the full game, this deal is absolutely brilliant.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now only $5 at Best Buy for a limited time. That's right, for one day only, you can get what is probably the cheapest a Cyberpunk 2077 physical copy will ever be. The discount is available until the end of the day (April 7) on PS4 and Xbox One copies of the game. Both copies can be upgraded to their new-gen console equivalent for free as well, providing the icing on the cake for this deal.
The cheapest I've seen Cyberpunk 2077 drop to recently was $10 at Target during Black Friday, and this is even better. Whatever your opinion is on the game, this discount is definitely something to write home about. It's hard to argue against a $5 deal, but I'd also suggest playing it on new-gen consoles only if you are going to pick it up, just for the best experience possible.
Mario Golf will become the 14th Nintendo 64 game available on Switch when it arrives on April 15.
When it arrives players will be able to download Mario Golf as part of the Switch Online Expansion Pack, which costs $49.99 and is the only way to play N64 games on the console.

While now a long-running series, the N64 version of Mario Golf marked the Mushroom Kingdom crew's first time hitting the links and features 18 playable characters and six championship courses.
Nintendo has added new games to the N64 library roughly once a month, with March seeing F-Zero X added to the service while in February it was The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

eFootball has been an utter fiasco. The game hasn’t been up to snuff and has let down a lot of fans. I know it, you know it, and well, Konami does, too.
Today Square Enix released a new gallery of screenshots related to the upcoming updates 6.1 and 6.15 of the popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV.
We get to see the Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures side story questline, which will bring back the popular and clumsy investigator and his assistant Nashu.
Alongside the Arkasodara tribal quests and the custom deliveries for Ameliance Leveilleur, they’re coming in update 6.15.
Tataru’s Grand Endeavor and Omega: Beyond the Rift are more side story quests also coming in the 6.1 cycle even if the specific update has not been decided.
Among the features coming in update 6.1 we see Dreamfitting, which is the ability to try on outfits sold on the Mog Station before buying them, Adventurer Plates that will let us display our profiles in new ways in game, the addition of Endwalker’s main story and role quests to the New Game+, and the Unending Codex, which will provide info about in-game lingo and characters.
We also see new mounts, minions, and emotes.

Overwatch character Zarya has been quietly edited to remove a "Z" logo on her character model.
Developer Blizzard has not yet commented on the change, though fans have spotted the "Z" has now disappeared in the game's most recent update (thanks, PC Gamer).
It's not hard to guess why this change has occured now. The "Z" symbol has recently become co-opted by Putin-supporting Russian citizens and emblazoned on military vehicles currently involved in the country's devastating invasion of Ukraine.
A new Ghost Recon game is reportedly in the works, following news that Ghost Recon Breakpoint has received its final update.
As reported by Kotaku, the next game in the series is codenamed OVER and was originally leaked by Nvidia. Kotaku sources claim it has already been in development for over a year and could be released in fiscal year 2023.
Also reported is that free-to-play live-service shooter Ghost Recon Frontline is undergoing a reset following negative feedback from an internal playtest this year. It's unlikely to launch soon.
When working your way through Moreau’s watery swamp pit in Resident Evil Village, players were reportedly once set to encounter a range of new creatures, including mermaids. But as is to be expected from a Resident Evil game, these mermaids were not going to be the Disney princess versions akin to the likes of Ariel and her family. Rather, they were going to be a (literal) monstrous pain for Ethan Winters and players.
Reliable Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem, who has a record of insider knowledge on the series' development, has shared more details on Moreau’s area within the game, as well as the enemies players would encounter there. When discussing the mermaid like enemies that were ultimately cut from the final release, Dusk Golem revealed:
"In the water they could swim for you quickly if [they] spotted you, and you had to get to patches of land or kill them successfully before they reached you.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has only been out a couple of days, but players are already getting creative with some of its quirks.
For example, you can't kill children in the game - and players have found that by chaining lightsaber attacks against these invulnerable younglings, you can essentially levitate and hover to places you'd normally struggle to reach.
Specifically, people are beating up little Episode 1-era Anakin Skywalker, who will simply glow red from repeated lightsaber damage. (Normally, whacking your party members with lightsabers sends them tumbling apart into their Lego components.)
Mario Golf will be the next N64 game to hit Nintendo Switch Online.
As revealed in a tweet from Nintendo, it will tee off from the service on 15th April.
Originally released in 1999, this was the first instalment in Camelot's Mario Golf series and is considered the first modern Mario sports game, with a Game Boy Colour counterpart later that year. Check out the Japanese trailer below.
