Atlus released another of its many trailers showcasing the over 200+ demons of its upcoming JRPG Shin Megami Tensei V.
This time around we get to see the gameplay of Ouyamatsumi, inspired by the Shinto Kami of Mount Fuji. He de buted in the series with Shin Megami Tensei II in 1994.
You can watch him in action below.
Mega Drive owners didn't often glance enviously at their Super Nintendo friends. After all, we had amazing platform games. We had fantastic shoot 'em ups. We had great arcade conversions. But there was one thing we didn't have: the sprawling RPGs of the Nintendo console, such as The Secret Of Mana, Final Fantasy and The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past. True, there were Mega Drive RPGs, but none with quite the epic feel and expanse of their Nintendo peers. Then, for a brief period in the early 90s, it didn't matter. Because we had Buck Rogers: Countdown To Doomsday, a sci-fi RPG the likes of which never again appeared on the Sega console.
Countdown To Doomsday began life in 1990 as a PC, Commodore 64 and Amiga game. Released as part of its Gold Box series by Strategic Simulations Inc. (better known as SSI), the game was based on TSR's Buck Rogers XXVC table-top role-playing game, itself a blending together of the famous sci-fi character with the Dungeons & Dragons second edition ruleset. As was common at the time, Countdown presents a first-person exploration view combined with an isometric display for combat. Yet while the original has its fans, it's the Mega Drive conversion, released a year later, that is the most loved.
Slender Man is making unexpected appearances in Phasmophobia.
The ghosthunting game's latest update, Nightmare, rolled out earlier this week, although developer Kinetic Games didn't give away much about the new adventure beyond the fact it involved camping in the wilderness with the new map, Maple Lodge campsite.
Sundays are for changing into your second Halloween costume and returning to that house who gave out KitKat Chunkys. Before you go to hell, let's read this week's best writing about games.
Bugsnax developer Young Horses has announced that the game's upcoming Isle of Bigsnax DLC will be receiving additional trophies on PlayStation.
Originally, the new update for Bugsnax wasn't going to come with any new trophies. However, following some community feedback on Twitter, the developer decided to add them in.
A fan had first asked if new trophies were going to be added, but Young Horses said that they weren't at the time. Not giving up, the unnamed fan jokingly offer to come with a trophy list for free for the developer. Surprisingly, the studio relented and now new trophies for the Bigsnax DLC is coming.
"We saw these tweets and about 20 minutes later in team chat the sentiment was, 'I guess we’re adding new trophies,'" says Young Horses co-founder and president Philip Tibotoski.
The Isle of Bigsnax was announced earlier this week during PlayStation's State of Play presentation. Its story will still take place on Snaktooth island, a place with prehistoric species preserved in the ocean until now. It will have brand new places and Snax to discover. The Isle of Bigsnax launches sometime in 2022 on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
A Fortnite and League of Legends crossover is set to be announced very soon, according to one reliable insider for Epic's battle royale game. There have been several whispers swirling as of late regarding a major collaboration that was on the horizon, but those in the know had remained very tight-lipped until now. If this apparent leak is true, we will soon find a Fortnite Jinx skin in the game as Epic and Riot collaborate on a major video game crossover.
According to ShiinaBR, one of the most trusted Fortnite dataminers and insiders, the Fortnite Jinx skill will be revealed and released next week to coincide with the launch of Riot Games' new animated Netflix show, Arcane, which takes place in the ever-popular League of Legends world of Runeterra.

The Harley Quinn-esque "loose cannon" Jinx has become the de facto mascot of Riot's MOBA, so it would make sense for any crossover between two of the world's biggest games to involve her--as far as we know, don't hold your breath for a Jonesy hero in League, though.
Riders Republic, semi-successor to Ubisoft's Steep, is out today, and you can get the game for a discounted price via Walmart. You'll be able to ride bikes, glide through the air, and probably wipe out a whole bunch--all while having an extra $10 in your pocket to spend on the virtual bandages you'll need.
Through delivery or in-store pickup, you can get Riders Republic for $50 across all three retail versions--PS5, PS4, and Xbox. The Xbox version supports Smart Delivery, and the PS4 version includes a free PS5 upgrade, so it's actually the better version to buy compared to the PS5-only version.
If you want the digital version for a discount, it's available at Newegg for 10% off with promo code EMCHESA22. That works out to about $54, so it's a tad more expensive than buying the disc, and because digital PlayStation games are only available via the PlayStation Store, you can only get this deal on Xbox.
Riders Republic is available now, and it supports cross-play and cross-progression, along with cross-gen play. Regardless of where your friends are playing the game, you'll be able to race and stunt it up together.
YouTube has unveiled new stats on its gaming content, as well as a plan for how it aims to grow that market on its platform in the near future. This year has seen some tremendous growth, with over 800 billion gaming-related views, over 90 million hours live-streamed, and over 250 million uploads being logged in just the first half of 2021.
According to YouTube's global head of gaming, Ryan Wyatt, the streaming platform's plan to expand will involve investing in more content creators such as Dr Lupo and TimTheTatMan, continued support for esports through events such as the Minecraft Championships Pride 2021, and continuing to promote short-form videos with the $100 million Shorts Fund.
YouTube also plans to work on creating new tools that will help viewers discover live content, add more monetization options, expand the available options for chat, and continue developing the Live Redirect for Gaming feature which will send viewers into other streams.
"YouTube Gaming recognizes that content creators will be more important than ever to game developers over the next 5 years," Wyatt explained in a blog post. "It's no longer about bringing games to creators when they want marketing support on launch. They'll be there as true partners--influencing creative direction, functionality, and formats."

Nintendo has shuttered offices in California, USA, and Toronto, Canada.
A report by Kotaku states that Friday, 29th October 2021, was the last operating day for employees in Nintendo's Redwood City location, one of three main Nintendo offices for Nintendo of America. Around 100 employees are thought to be affected by the closure in California, although it's unclear how many staff at the Canadian office have been forced to relocate or lose their jobs.
id Software is currently advertising a dozen job openings at its Texas studio, sparking speculation that a new Quake instalment might be on the way.
Let's face it - a development studio advertising for developers isn't particularly newsworthy. In this instance, however, Zenimax stated several times that the new hires will be contributing to "the development of a long-running iconic action FPS", and makes mention of "sci-fi and fantasy environments" - and that's the bit that's got everyone a little excited.

ArtPlay has confirmed it is deviating from its "previously released roadmap" for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night to bring a new character "NOT from the world of Bloodstained" to the acclaimed 2019 Castlevania spiritual successor from Koji Igarashi.
After acknowledging that "some technical issues have slowed down [its] production timetable", Artplay apologised for "the long delay between updates" and detailed what's coming next for fans of the Metroidvania adventure.
Amazon's new MMO, New World, has reportedly lost more than half its playerbase just a month after its launch on PC.
Despite hitting an impressive all-time concurrent peak of just shy of a million players on 3rd October, Forbes spotted that the numbers on SteamCharts have taken something of a dip, with its concurrent rate falling around 135,000 players every week since launch.
Nintendo's Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack overview trailer is now the most disliked video on Nintendo's YouTube channel ever.
As spotted by our pals at VGC, with 104K downvotes (it was 103K when I started writing this) to just 17K likes, the Expansion Pack trailer took just a fortnight to eclipse that Metroid Prime: Federation Force trailer from E3 2015, which sports just 11K likes to an eyewatering 96K dislikes.
I don’t expect much from licensed video games. So I was shocked when I came across the soundtrack for Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights, a 2002 PS2 game based on the popular ‘70s cartoon. Turns out this game’s music slaps.
Well, it seems a lot of people don’t like Nintendo’s new Switch Online Expansion Pack based on the reveal trailer’s likes and dislikes. The video, which revealed the pricing details for the plan, now has 104k dislikes on YouTube, overtaking the previously most hated video on Nintendo’s channel: A trailer for Metroid…
