Bungie Explains Destiny 2: Season 14 Ada-1 Vendor Changes And Transmog

Ada-1 is officially returning to the Tower for season 14's transmog addition in Destiny 2, but Guardians will notice something different from this particular Exo. With her return comes a few quality of life tweaks found within the Tower vendors, so what does that mean for Ada?

Bungie took to the game's blog once more for its weekly update, including what players can expect from Ada-1's reappearance. For those like me that are beyond excited for the arrival of the new transmog system, she will be the primary vendor associated with this aesthetic shift. In-game, it's called Armor Synthesis, and she will be the vendor that players go to in order to get a plethora of armor-focused items and ways to upgrade.

Every day, like other Tower vendors, Ada-1 will sell something special, with one randomly chosen armor mod from the general and armor slot groups. She will also offer one randomly chosen Combat Style armor mod, specifically from the Charged with Light and Warmind mod groups.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Pushed Out Of Spring

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was supposed to arrive sometime this spring but that will no longer be the case. Developer TT Games needs more time to assemble their ambitious love letter to the franchise, so it’s delaying the game to a yet-to-be-specified point in the future

TT Games shared a tweet announcing the news that doesn’t say much other than “we just need more time”.

Thanks to all our fans for your continued patience. pic.twitter.com/tCDV9Ikftd

— TT Games (@TTGames) April 2, 2021

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was first revealed during E3 2019. Some might be asking “wait, didn’t TT already make a bunch of Lego Star Wars games? What’s the difference?” This is true, however The Skywalker Saga covers all nine films in one game (which players can tackle in any order). This marks the first time The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker have gotten the Lego treatment since the last Lego Star Wars game was The Force Awakens back in 2016. The Skywalker Saga also features a host of improvements and new mechanics to make it a much deeper experience than the Lego games before it.

Nazo no Murasame-Jou deserves to be remembered alongside Metroid and Zelda

Nineteen eighty-six was a transformative year for Nintendo. Super Mario Bros. had released at the end of the previous year and ushered in a slew of influential games. The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus (I guess), many of which were riding on the features of the Famicom Disk System, which also released that year. Home console games would quickly shift away from the cyclical arcade model and more toward adventures with endpoints; final goals to work towards, rather than just a high score.

We received many of the fruits of this labor. The Legend of Zelda would ship with a special battery backed cartridge to allow saving on the NES, while Metroid and Kid Icarus would swap to passwords. One notable game, however, was left in the dust among those titles; the second original title on the Famicom Disk System, Nazo no Murasame-Jou. Whether it was because it was too Japanese for Western audiences or… actually, that’s the only reason I can think of because it’s an excellent game that could have totally gotten away with just using a password system.

New Resident Evil Village Promo Art Reveals A New Masked Figure

Resident Evil Village is very much still a mystery, and we love Capcom for it. That being said, who is this mysterious masked figure that recently popped up in new promotional artwork for the latest game?

Twitter account @BIOHAZARDcast, an account that has shared numerous accurate information in the past regarding the Resident Evil franchise, recently shared new promotional art spotted in Japan. Ethan Winters is once more spotted alongside Chris Redfield and Rose, but another new face (face-ish) has been added into the mix with a Harlequinesque masked figure in the bottom left.

First Resident Evil Village PS4 Pro Gameplay Revealed

Capcom has shared quite a bit about Resident Evil Village, but everything seen thus far has been focused on how the new game runs on PlayStation 5. Now, we've got some new Resident Evil Village gameplay to feast those eyes on, this time centering around the PS4 Pro.

The latest look comes courtesy of IGN and while the scenes themselves are nothing new, it is the first time we've seen anything on last-gen hardware. The good news is that the two versions don't look terribly different, which is great considering so many still can't get a hold of a PlayStation 5 due to shortages and scalpers. The fact that the PS4 Pro version looks identical to the PS5 version is a good thing. For those that have a PlayStation 5 and wanted their time to be special, the PS5 has features that previous generations don't have, including faster loading times, more intuitive haptic feedback, 3D audio, and more.

We'll be getting even more new looks at Resident Evil Village this month because Capcom has another showcase planned for the upcoming horror title. We don't know the exact date of the showcase, only that one is on the way following the previous event held in January.

Oddworld Collection compiles three classics for Nintendo Switch

Classic adventures from the book of Oddworld are being compiled for release on Nintendo Switch. Publisher Microids has announced Oddworld Collection; a physical release that will include a trio of Abe and Co.'s weird, puzzle-platforming adventures.

The first of the three titles is Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, a ground-up remake of the original 1997 PlayStation release Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee. New 'n' Tasty sees heroic Mudokan Abe begin his rebellious push back against the nefarious, capitalistic Glukkons, who intend to turn both Abe and his people into intergalactic foodstuffs for galaxy-wide distribution. This first series entry introduced players to Oddworld's bizarre universe, as well as its non-confrontational, puzzle-solving, micro-management gameplay.

The second title featured in Oddworld Collection is 2001's Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, which sees Munch, a Gabbit hunted to near-extinction, and his efforts to free himself and the few remaining Gabbits from a floating research laboratory overseen by a cruel race known as Vykkers. Munch's Oddysee saw the action transition from 2.5D to 3D, as Munch, (with an assist from Abe), picks his way through the laboratory in an effort to bring down the Vykkers from within.

HBO has a new adaptation in the works with The Last of Us TV series on the way. The upcoming show is getting ready to "go on the road" because filming is set to begin in Calgary, as confirmed by the Director's Guild of Canada.

In a new report from CBC Canada, the Director's Guild has confirmed the location and the time after months of rumors that this is where the show was headed. The Guild currently says that the HBO take is set to begin filming on July 5, 2021, in Calgary, with an expected wrap-up slated for June 8, 2022. Alberta Premier's Jason Kenney also hinted recently in a Facebook livestream that there would be a "very exciting announcement" dropping soon regarding the show.

With Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) leading the casting charge as Joel and Ellie, the "exciting announcement" could be more casting reveals now that the team is prepared to begin filming in just a few short months. Kantemir Balagov (Beanpole) is also slated to direct the upcoming HBO series alongside Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) as lead writer and co-executive producer.

Netflix Celebrates The Witcher Season 2’s Completed Filming With a Trailer

It’s been well over a year since Netflix’s acclaimed and immensely popular first season of The Witcher aired. Even though a sequel season was almost instantly greenlit, complications with filming due to COVID-19 have made for slow progress in production.

Today, however, the cast and crew are celebrating a wrap on filming, and Netflix has a behind-the-scenes trailer to mark the occasion.

As you’ll hear from showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, a team of 89 cast members and 1,200 crew have been busy for 158 filming across 15 different locations in sun, rain, snow, and frost.

Of course, Hissrich also hypes the return of familiar characters for season 2, as well as the prospect of new stories, adventures, and creatures that will feature along the way.

While filming itself has wrapped up, there’s no release date for the show as yet. Typically, post production takes several months to complete, so there’s no guarantee that it will be in 2021.

Outriders: Is There Romance? Answered

There’s a lot to do in People Can Fly’s new looter shooter Outriders, with gear to find, expansive areas to explore, and a host of characters to interact with. That last one can be unclear on just how deep its mechanics are though, so you wouldn’t be blamed for wondering: Is there romance in Outriders, or an option to flirt with a specific character?

We had the same question going into the game, and after some experimentation, we’ve found the answer. Read on to find out whether you should be buttering up specific NPCs or if you can speak your mind without fear of failure.

Is There Romance in Outriders? Answered

Currently, there are no romance options in Outriders.

No matter how much you talk to any given NPC or main character, you won’t have the option to enter a romantic relationship with them or take your relationship to the next level. Some dialogue options might get a little suggestive, but that’s as far as it’ll go.

It’s a bit of a bummer, but also not that surprising if you’ve played other recent looter shooters. Very few have romance options, and instead opt for a focus on gameplay and more tempered relationships between players and their cast of characters.

Will Romance Be Added in Later?

As for whether romance might be added into Outriders at a later date, the chances are pretty unlikely.

While there is the possibility of it happening, People Can Fly will have their hands full optimizing and refining the game now that it has launched. As a result, they probably won’t have the time or resources to dedicate to adding the feature in any time soon, if at all.

This new Dynasty Warriors movie trailer heavily leans into the games, to its benefit

So, the Dynasty Warriors movie is almost out in China, as it's set to debut on April 30.

Wait, what?! Yep, it's a real thing, and it's finally coming out after ages of hearing about it. I know it's an international release, but it's really flown under the radar in terms of recent overarching "game adaptation film" conversation especially in light of flicks like Sonic (which is getting a sequel) and the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot.

This trailer does the new Dynasty Warriors movie a lot of favors. It starts off with a little homage to the games, then jumps straight into over-the-top combat and big-picture military strategy footage. The anime-like moves look authentic, the costumes are on point, the game soundtrack is infused into this clip. Everything checks out on paper.

I don't know why, but the "produced by Omega Force" logo at the beginning really got to me. A lot of the time when a gaming adaptation is produced, the original studio that started it all is completely forgotten. Like when "Sega" is credited with producing the Sonic movie, and so on. But to see a trailer with the developer front and center: it's a beautiful thing.

Hood: Outlaws and Legends - The Final Preview

When you think of Robin Hood, you’re probably more likely to imagine Mel Brooks and a band of merry men than dark fantasy or Game of Thrones. But Hood: Outlaws and Legends seeks to redefine this classic tale by marrying multiplayer heist action with a grim and bloody aesthetic, a combination that thoroughly impressed me over the course of my hands-on session with the game. It’s unique, it’s deep, and it could well be one of the intriguing multiplayer releases of 2021. In Hood: Outlaws and Legends, you take on the role of Robin Hood and his band as they attempt to rob from the rich and give to the poor. Over the course of three PvPvE phrases you infiltrate a keep, break into the vault, and attempt to escape with the treasure within. If you’re lucky, you’ll escape without ever alerting the guards. If you’re unlucky, you will have to fight to escape with your freshly stolen chest of gold. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=hood-outlaws-legends-screenshots&captions=true"] Opposing you is not just a keep full of knights, soldiers, and archers, but another group of thieves trying to steal the gold for themselves. This makes the heist an exciting race as the two teams battle the guards and each other in the course of trying to make off with the treasure, with a combination of stealth, communication, and smart map management being the key to victory. [poilib element="quoteBox" parameters="excerpt=Opposing%20you%20is%20not%20just%20a%20keep%20full%20of%20knights%2C%20soldiers%2C%20and%20archers%2C%20but%20another%20group%20of%20thieves%20trying%20to%20steal%20the%20gold%20for%20themselves."] It makes for a fresh and exciting multiplayer experience, one featuring elements like medieval melee combat that aren’t often seen in competitive multiplayer games.

The Real Science Behind Controller Drift

If you’ve ever had ghostly inputs into your control stick cause you to fail to catch a rare bug, miss a precision jump, or fall off the edge of a cliff into a bottomless void, you might be a victim of control stick drift. It’s annoying, notoriously hard to fix, and seems to be a growing problem. If you want to know why it happens (and how to fix it?), we’ve got to understand more of the science behind how your controller actually works. Fundamentally the thing that makes any and all of your electronics work is right in the name: electrons. Moving electrons from place to place is how we generate electrical current, and that current supplies the energy that allows our devices to run. [poilib element="accentDivider"]

How Your Controller Works

Underneath the plastic or metal shell of your device is its electric skeleton: the circuit board. Whether it’s your phone, your computer, or your game controller, all the critical parts that make your electronics function live on that circuit board. A circuit board is designed to send current to different places to accomplish different goals. To make a signal when a button is pressed, for example, or power lights, or sense the position of a thumbstick. These boards are carefully designed so that the current can only flow along tracks of conductive material (usually copper), and nowhere else. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-evolution-of-the-playstation-controller&captions=true"] That current has to be precisely controlled, because if it runs unrestricted it burns through your energy supply incredibly fast and generates a ton of heat, which can damage the components and leave your device broken and useless. We limit that electric current’s flow by putting either resistive elements or gaps across the circuit board. Gaps make a break in the circuit, so that the current will only flow if something is inserted to complete it.
