We already knew that Junji Ito’s horror story Uzumaki was being turned into an animated series, but today we got our first good look at it, as well as word of a new release date.
Reddit user CrazyGiaky noticed something interesting about the flickering lights in Half-Life Alyx. When compared next to flickering lights in the original Half-Life game, the two seemed to sync up. It seemed like Valve was still using the same bit of code to control these lights 22 years later. And that’s exactly…
2021 is proving to be a very interesting year in the world of indie games. We've already experienced some unique adventures in titles such as Before Your Eyes and Loop Hero, but there's plenty on the horizon for those who love the smaller but impactful experiences the genre's known for. Games such as Lake, Cris Tales, and 12 Minutes have us hopeful for the rest of the year, but one of our most anticipated upcoming indie titles is Sable, developer Shedworks' new open-world stunner.
If the name rings a bell, it's probably because you've seen the gorgeous visual style before. Recently shown off at the Geoff Keighley Summer Game Fest, Sable's vibrant and distinct art style has generated a large amount of hype, and for good reason. But now that the game's demo is out for Xbox and PC users, is it any fun to play?
Windows 11 has leaked online, giving us a first glimpse of Microsoft's next operating system and all the small ways it'll annoy and unsettle us until we finally Google how to change it back. This time around: it has rounded corners, the app icons are centered in the task bar, and the Start menu has changed.
You can see for yourself! Scroll down to the Characters section and you'll find six boxes, each showcasing one of Monkey Ball's familiar playable roster. Conspicuously though, the site layout leaves enough room for two more characters - and manually altering the image paths so portrait and in-ball art ends in sonic.png or tails.png reveals hidden Sonic and Tails versions of both:
For the past few years, the internet has grappled with a cold case: Remember that game that was, like, a farming sim, kinda like Harvest Moon, but you have to kill your wife and keep her body hidden from the police? What was it called, again? It had the ring of a creepypasta, but it also sounded like something that …
Earlier this week, we got an official release date for The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, which will be coming to PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5 on Oct. 22, 2021. Today, during a special showcase dedicated to the game, Bandai Namco featured an interview with executive producer Dan McDonald.
In the interview, which you can see below, McDonald goes over everything fans of the series can expect with the third installment in the series.
Important bits of information were revealed regarding the House of Ashes’ setting in the interview, as it is stated that the game takes place during the Iraq War in 2003, centers around a unit looking for weapons of mass destruction. After a firefight breaks out, the American and Iraqi soldiers find themselves stuck in an underground city that is crawling with monsters.
When asked how many monsters the game has, the executive producer was coy, stating that there could be a few or there could be hundreds. He also stated that the themes and setting of the game were inspired by the Akkadian empire and God-King Naram-sin.

The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Swordis perhaps one of the most divisive main titles in the entire Legend of Zelda series. But with a new HD re-release and elements seen in today’s Breath of the Wild 2 trailer, Nintendo seems to want to rehab Skyward Sword’s reputation.
The Super Robot Wars series is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and Super Robot Wars 30 has received a new teaser trailer to commemorate the occasion.
Streamed on June 15 via the official Nintendo YouTube channel, the trailer offers a glimpse at some of the characters, gameplay, and story that’ll be available in the sequel. Likewise, it reveals that the game is currently slated for release on the Nintendo Switch. Whether or not it will release on other platforms is unknown at this time, but we’ll update the article accordingly should that change.
While not many mechs, robots, and pilots were shown off in the trailer, a few of particular note did make an appearance. These include Amuro Ray and the original Mobile Suit Gundam; Suzaku Kururugi and the Knightmare Frame Lancelot; and Koji Kabuto and the Mazinger Z.
Some of these characters were even shown to be interacting with one another. Given the series’ history – and the long history of robot and mecha-centric anime to draw from – these characters and their interactions are only the tip of the iceberg.
It’s a trailer mech and robot fans are sure to enjoy, and well worth a look for those who can speak Japanese or have access to some closed captions. The trailer can be found down below.
While it still provides a look at the story, Atlus’ trailer (for now released only in Japanese) has a broader look at the gameplay and demons that we’ll fight and befriend in the game.
You can watch it below.
Shin Megami Tensei V releases for Nintendo Switch on Nov, 12, 2021. If you’re unfamiliar with it, you can enjoy and a brief official description below, hinting at the story.
“The ambitions of god and human clash amidst the horror of a dying world. Neither human nor demon, the newly-forged Nahobino and his friends must decide what is worth saving… and prepare to sacrifice everything in its name. In a world without its Creator, which path will you choose?”
Songs Of Conquest was one of the most exciting trailers I saw at E3 2021. It's a turn-based strategy game in which you stomp around a world map, triggering hexy battles against fantasy factions, and levelling up and expanding your kingdom in between. It also has lovely pixel art. Watch the trailer below.
Following its Treehouse Live presentation at E3 2021, Nintendo had one more thing to show, and released a long segment of gameplay of No More Heroes III.
While the gameplay was not broadcasted live (I guess they had to show two segments of Metroid Dread instead… for some reason), it was still published for your perusal.
We get to enjoy a lot of combat gameplay culminating with a boss battle and a video message from Goichi “Suda51” Suda himself at the end.
Earlier today in a regulatory announcement from CD Projekt, it was announced that their major 2021 release, Cyberpunk 2077, will return to the PlayStation after a six-month-long hiatus. A hiatus tied to poor console performance on PS4 and Xbox One.
In relation to Current Report no. 66/2020 of 18 December 2020, the Management Board of CD PROJEKT S.A. with a registered office in Warsaw hereby publicly discloses the decision by Sony Interactive Entertainment to reinstate the availability of the digital edition of Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation Store, effective on 21 June 2021.
It’s important to note that this is a direct translation from the original release that was released in Polish. This may introduce some some minor discrepancies between the two versions.
However, the main content that discusses the return of Cyberpunk 2077 to the PlayStation Store is absolute. The return in six days on June 21 comes in almost exactly six months since it was pulled from the store on Dec. 17, 2020 (Dec. 18 in Poland).
And just to be clear, there’s no indication that this will have any kind of impact on the release of the Xbox Series X|S or PS5 versions of Cyberpunk 2077. They both still appear to be set for a release window of the nebulous second half of 2021.
If you have yet to pick up Cyberpunk 2077, then check out our review of the PS4 game running on PS5 hardware.
For many, the most exciting aspect of E3 is the flurry of new game announcements. And while this year may not have yielded quite as many surprises as in years gone by, there certainly have been a handful of hugely exciting game reveals that have us looking forward to the next couple of years. One genre that looks set to prosper, in particular, is action/adventure. So, let’s review the 5 biggest action/adventure games announced during E3 2021.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
5 Biggest Action/Adventure Games at E3 2021
Easily one of the most unexpected game reveals at the whole of E3 2021, let alone the action/adventure scene, Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora came out of absolutely nowhere. Of course, it’s no secret that the Avatar movie franchise is set to expand over the next few years with three sequels, but a video game from a major publisher as well? It’s a very interesting development, indeed.
Xbox and Bethesda may have just had their best conference in years. 30 games announced with 27 coming to Gamepass. The future looks bright The post https://thegamefanatics.com/xbox-and-bethesda-show-the-true-value-of-gamepass-e3-2021/ appeared first on The Game Fanatics,.
Hasbro has been doing amazing things for Star Wars fans through its Black Series and Vintage lines of action figures. Almost every character who was on screen for a second in any of the Star Wars movies has been turned into an action figure. But that's not all Hasbro has done. Numerous comic books, novels, and video games have also been mined for characters that can forever be remembered as action figures.
Microsoft is officially down a next-gen exclusive title, as Bloober Team just revealed in an official press release that The Medium would be coming to PS5 Sept. 3, 2021. In the trailer below, you can see what PlayStation fans have to look forward to with this psychological horror game.
In our own review for The Medium, Twinfinite gave the game a 4/5, praising its fantastic narrative and exceptionally eerie atmosphere. You can check out the full review right here.
For any Sony fans that have never heard of the game before this announcement, Bloober Team described the game as followed:
The Medium is a third-person psychological horror game that features innovative dual-reality gameplay. Players assume the role of Marianne, a medium gifted with several psychic abilities, as she explores the real and spirit world both separately and simultaneously to uncover a dark mystery masked by disturbing secrets, sinister spirits, and devious puzzles only a medium can solve.
While the day started with a fervor of anticipation and excitement for what Nintendo would have to offer as part of its E3 2021 Direct, there still was a question of "what were we going to actually see?" Plenty of titles fans can't wait for are in development from the house of Zelda, Mario, and more, but with nary a confirmation, all we had was our hopes and dreams to tide us over. When Nintendo's Direct hit, it finally gave us a good look at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel, but that was far from it.
Loop Hero has sold 800k copies since its release back in March, which is pretty impressive given it's a strange, lo-fi mashup of roguelike and idle game. It's now received its first major update, and version 1.1 brings with it new tiles to build with and a bunch of quality-of-life improvements, including the ability to speed up the game.
Ratchet & Clank is making its way to the PS5 for the first time, so it’s time to surround yourself in its 4K, ray-traced glow. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the undisputed best-looking game in the franchise and one of the better-looking games to come out on the PS5 thus far, making for some great wallpapers. Insomniac Games just keeps hitting it out of the park.
And what better way is there to immerse yourself in the world of this new game — besides playing it of course — than by slapping these shiny new wallpapers on your desktop or laptop screens?
Alright, that’s enough talk for now. There’s no time like the present so let’s get on with these Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart wallpapers that you need for your desktop background.
UPDATE 2: Sony has warned Cyberpunk on PlayStation 4 will continue to suffer from performance issues even after it returns to the PlayStation Store, and suggested people play the game on the PS4 Pro or PS5 instead.
Sony issued the following statement to Eurogamer this evening:
"SIE can confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will be re-listed on PlayStation Store starting June 21, 2021. Users will continue to experience performance issues with the PS4 edition while CD Projekt Red continues to improve stability across all platforms. SIE recommends playing the title on PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best experience."
