Microsoft revealed today all the new additions coming to Xbox Game Pass across consoles, PC, and the cloud for the remainder of May.

The list kicks off with five games available starting today with mystery movie game Her Story on PC, the original Skate on the cloud via EA Play, and management simulation sequel Jurassic World Evolution 2 for all platforms. Games launching today alongside being added to Xbox Game Pass include Umurangi Generation Special Edition on all platforms and Little Witch in the Woods, which is currently in Game Preview, on consoles and PC.

Coming later this week on May 19 will be Farming Simulator 22 on all platforms and pixelated shoot ’em up Vampire Survivors on PC. Card and tactics game Floppy Knights for all platforms and Hardspace: Shipbreaker on PC will be launching day one with the service on May 24.

The list rounds out with Sniper Elite 5 launching for PC and consoles on May 26 with Cricket 22 for PC and Pac-Man Museum+ launching across all platforms on May 27. Microsoft also announced these games will be leaving the service on May 31:

Koei Tecmo has been localizing most of its games in the west for a long time, but there has always been a big exception, Ruby Party.

Ruby Party is a brand of Otome Games, usually visual novels designed for an audience of ladies in which a young and charming female protagonist engages in romance and adventure alongside a cast of handsome boys or men.

Twinfinite recently talked with head of Ruby Party Mei Erikawa during an interview dedicated to Touken Ranbu Warriors, and we asked her whether it’s finally time for her brand’s games to be localized in English for the west. Her answer was very promising.

As Ruby Party, we started to localize our games for overseas markets much later than the other brands at Koei Tecmo, so we had a late start.

A couple of years ago, we started expanding with some of our games in Asia, localizing them in Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and we found that there was a market there. 

The next step for us is definitely to hit the western English-speaking markets, and we do want to be able to release our titles globally. 

I think that in the future there is the potential for Ruby Party games to come out in English and I do think Touken Ranbu Warriors is helping to open the path for that.

We also asked Erikawa-san which Ruby Party game she would personally like to see released in the west, and she brought up Angelique Luminarise (portrayed above), which was launched in Japan in 2021 for Nintendo Switch. It’s part of a popular and long-running series that debuted all the way back in 1994 on the Super Famicom.

Today, during the 505 Games showcase, a brand new trailer for the upcoming first-person survival adventure game, Among the Trolls, was revealed. Developed by Finnish indie studio Forbidden Studios, the game places you in the shoes of an American that is looking to uncover the strange mysteries of the forests that exist near their grandparent’s home in Finland.

Among the Trolls is a first-person, survival, action-adventure game where the strange mysteries of Finnish forests are unraveled.

You play as either Alex or Anna, who travelled from the U.S. to Finland to visit their grandparents, living in an isolated cabin located among the towering trees. When you find that the cabin has been abandoned and your grandparents have vanished, you are pulled into a world of Nordic mythology and memories of childhood summers spent with your loved ones.

Embark on a quest to find your missing grandparents and learn how to survive in the wilderness, dealing with the supernatural creatures of Finnish mythology and the animistic nature of the world. Follow in your grandfather’s footsteps and discover the rune-singer within.

Touken Ranbu Warriors is getting close to its release in the west, bringing the popular Touken Ranbu franchise to the big screen.

It’s also a rare case in which a game in which Koei Tecmo’s otome franchise Ruby Party is involved is localized in the west, albeit this may change as you’ll read below.

In order to read more about this interesting project, Twinfinite sat down with general producer and head of Ruby Party Mei Erikawa, producer and head of Omega Force Tomohiko Sho, and director Osamu Mieda.

Giuseppe: What prompted the idea of creating a Warriors game dedicated to the Touken Ranbu franchise?

Mei Erikawa: At Ruby Party we found Touken Ranbu Online to be a very interesting and attractive game, so we went to NitroPlus with the proposal of creating an adventure game (Editor’s note: in Japan “adventure game” is what we call a visual novel in the west) based on Touken Ranbu Online.

Yet, at that meeting, NitroPlus came up with a counterproposal, saying that if we had to collaborate, why not do a Warriors game?

It also just happened to be around the time when a Japanese magazine had done a survey asking what franchise people would like to see collaborate with the Warriors series. Touken Ranbu ranked at the top. 

All these separate elements fell into place and we saw it as a great opportunity and I also agreed that it would have been amazing to do a collaboration between the Warriors franchise and Touken Ranbu to create something great. That’s how the project started.

Over two decades after the Moon landing, there’s a new battle to face— Mars. For All Mankind Season 3 premieres June 10 on Apple TV+.

Epic Games has just dropped the Fortnite 20.40 update, which brings back the Sideways Showdown week, kicks off the Funding Station battle between Shield Bubbles and Balloons, and even provides some hints at what the end of season event may entail.

The majority of the contents of the update are detailed in the official blog post on the Fortnite website. Here, we learn that the Sideways Showdown week will see the return of the Sideways weapons from now until May 24, 2022 at 8:59am ET. The two Sideways weapons are the Sideways Rifle and Sideways Minigun, and both of these can be upgraded without the use of Cube Monster parts this time around. Players can take them to an Upgrade Bench and spend their Gold Bars to make them more powerful.

To help players level up their Battle Pass further, the Sideways Showdown week also comes with its own set of quests for players to complete, which will end on May 24 at 8:59am ET when they’ll be replaced with a new set of ‘themed’ quests.

The patch notes also announced the start of the Shield Bubbles vs Balloons battle at Funding Stations found across the map. Following a trial period, for the past few days, players will now need to spend Gold Bars to help fully fund one item type over the other. Whichever item reaches 100% funded status first will be permanently unvaulted.

Fortnite’s 20.40 update also makes a permanent change to the Zero Build mode — the one without the building mechanic. The drop rate of Shockwave Grenades, Rift-to-Gos and Cow Catchers will remain increased indefinitely, following a successful period of increase droprates to coincide with the trickshot unvaults last week.

The open-world of Teyvat is as big as it is gorgeous, which means you’re probably going to spend a fair bit of time taking pictures of your adventure along the way. But for those playing on PC, actually finding the screenshot folder location for Genshin Impact can be a bit of a challenge. Luckily, we’re here to put you on the right (file) path.

Like many modern video games, Genshin Impact has a photo mode that allows players to take pictures and edit them with different effects. As we’ve explained in our dedicated photo mode guide, accessing the mode is done from the main menu and so if you’re wondering how to see Genshin screenshots then here’s what you need to know.

After you’ve snapped a picture, you can obviously just press “Print Screen” on your keyboard to take a picture. But there’s also a dedicated “Take Photo” button that saves them to a dedicated folder on your PC.

So where on earth is that folder? Well, we’ve done a bit of digging in the game’s File and discovered their whereabouts. Here’s the file path, which you should be able to just copy into explorer and locate:

Note that the above will only work if you have installed the game to your C drive. If you have multiple HDDs and you know that Genshin Impact is installed on, say, the D drive, then simply swap out the letters in file path listed above.

The Fortnite week 10 challenges are set to be the last chance for players to earn XP and level up their Chapter 3 Season 2 Battle Pass before the season ends. Late yesterday, 20th Century Studios debuted the first teaser trailer for its upcoming Predator prequel, Prey. Accompanying the new footage was also a concrete release date. Yes, the much-anticipated sci-fi film is locked in for an August 5 launch exclusively on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK.

As you can see above, the story centers on a Comanche warrior who is pitted against the iconic extraterrestrial species in an 18th century setting. Interestingly, Prey aims to shed light on the first ever visit to Earth from the trophy-obsessed hunters. Of course, the lack of modern firepower may prove to be a challenge, but the native tribes appear to have a few handy tricks up their sleeve.

Helmed by 10 Cloverfield Lane‘s Dan Trachtenberg, and starring Legion’s Amber Midthunder, Prey attempts to buck traditional “gender norms” by placing the spotlight on a sole female survivor who must go toe-to-toe with one of cinema’s most deadly sci-fi monsters.

Previously titled Skulls, Prey was originally going to be marketed with no reference to the titular space hunters, but the studio changed its mind during production.

The grim, dark universe of Warhammer 40k is enormous and impressively detailed. The tabletop game began all the way back in 1987, and since then, there have been many video game adaptations.

Today Atlus released another of its daily trailers for its upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, showing one of the demons appearing in the game.

Soul Hackers 2 releases for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam and Windows Store) on August 26, just one day after the Japanese launch on August 25.

The Boys might be Amazon’s biggest TV series yet, so it’s no surprise that the show quickly got renewed for a third season. Fans won’t have to wait too long for season 3, as Prime has just dropped a new trailer, along with a release date of June 3.

Here’s a brief synopsis and rundown of the story so far:

We also get a good look of Homelander, who’s clearly still set to play a big role in the story despite having been dealt with in the previous season. Considering the fact that he’s easily the most fascinating character in the entire series, it’s exciting to see him in action again.

Today new reveals were made about upcoming add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator, including aircraft and scenery.

Beta testers for the Airbus A320 by Fenix Simulations have been allowed to start showcasing the aircraft.

War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is getting a pretty hefty update this week, with quite a few things to look forward to. The big headlining feature here is the addition of Resnick, a new lightning UR unit who specializes in supporting and healing her party.

This is a pretty big deal, especially since the lightning element in the game has been in dire need of a dedicated support character for a while. It has plenty of good DPS characters like Cloud, Esther, Ibara, and the newly released Queen, as well as a good tank in Charlotte, but no proper healers. Resnick is looking to change that, and she could be a good cost 90 unit to consider if you’re a lightning main.

More general changes include the addition of the Farplane Archives, which should prove to be a very nice inclusion for most players. This function will allow players to replay event quests that are not active, which is definitely a huge benefit for those of us who can’t keep up with every event that releases in the game. There will also be other quality-of-life changes, such as more party slots to allow players to experiment with different unit formations.

Looking further ahead, Gumi has also confirmed that +6 equipment and gear is on the horizon. At the moment, War of the Visions only lets you craft gear up to the +5 level, but with a new tier coming up, players will be able to get even more out of their existing equipment.

Kerbal Space Program 2, the sequel to the 2015 space flight simulation game, has been delayed a third time with a new expected release date of 2023.

The game’s creative director Nate Simpson announced the delay in a forum post on the official game’s board and a separate video on Monday. Kerbal Space Program 2 will now be launching on PC in early 2023 with a release on consoles coming later that same year.

Today Take-Two Interactive Software announced its financial results the fiscal year 2022, which ended on March 31, 2022.

Below you can check out a summary of the results, which Take-Two defines as “strong,” with both revenue and net income above expectations.

We also take a look at the guidance for the current fiscal year, which Take-Two expects to bring higher revenue but lower profit.

Today Take-Two Interactive Software announced an update for sales of its blockbusters for Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 during its quarterly financial conference call.

We learn that Red Dead Redemption 2 has shipped over 44 million units worldwide. Grand Theft Auto V has passed 165 million shipments.

Historically, the Grand Theft Auto series has now shipped over 375 million units cumulatively. The Red Dead Redemption franchise has shopped over 67 million units cumulatively.

As usual, these are very, very flattering achievements for both series, especially considering that Grand Theft Auto V has been the best-selling game of the past 10 years in the US based on both units and dollar sales, while Red Dead Redemption 2 is the 2nd best-selling game in the US based on dollar sale according to the NPD.

We also got more sales data from the publisher including Borderlands 3 which has shipped over 15 million units to date (the franchise has shipped 75 million units cumulatively).

Recently, Grand Theft Auto V has launched for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a slew of new features on top of the previous platforms, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The next chapter of the beloved franchise has also been confirmed in development at Rockstar.

Square Enix’s first foray into the MMORPG space, Final Fantasy XI, has turned 20 today. Way back in 2002, adventurers stumbled into the world of Vana’diel with very little direction. No quest markers and only a simple story to work through with not much in the way of guidance on how to progress it. While nowadays, that wouldn’t fly for all but the most hardcore of MMORPG fans, back then it was still revolutionary. The fact that you could take up arms as a classic Final Fantasy job and group up with other people online, on your PS2 even, was more than many people back then could ask for.

Square Enix has been celebrating 20 years of Final Fantasy XI all year with the release of the We Are Vana’diel website back in July of 2021. In the months that have followed, the developers have conducted many interviews discussing Final Fantasy XI and have shared behind-the-scenes art and developer commentary about iconic moments in the game’s history. Last week, for the Japanese audience, Square Enix also did an over five-hour-long livestream dedicated to going down memory lane with key members of the original development team, including the original producer, Hiromichi Tanaka.

As far as in-game content is concerned, the current producer Akihiko Matsui, wrote a letter to fans expressing his wish to continue to improve and add to the game, quelling any rumors that Final Fantasy XI will be shutting down any time soon.
