Splatoon 3 Reveals New Multiplayer Map Called Mincemeat Metalworks

1 year 10 months ago

The official Twitter account for the Splatoon series has been casually dropping minor news via the Squid Research Lab for the upcoming Splatoon 3 game, and today it revealed something a bit more major. A brand new multiplayer map has been announced, and it’s called Mincemeat Metalworks.

Mincemeat Metalworks is a facility made from scrap metal in order to produce even more scrap metal. The reveal explains how there used to be a sea at the location that evaporated. The setting makes sense for Splatoon 3’s apparent apocalyptic plot.

You can get a glimpse of what the Mincemeat Metalworks stage looks like in the reveal tweet below.

Pokemon Fans Can Now Find Massive Life-Sized Alolan Exeggutor at Miyazaki Airport in Japan

1 year 10 months ago

Japan loves Pokemon, so it isn’t surprising that the popular critters are used to advertise pretty much everything, from whole prefectures to airports and airlines.

This time around, the administration of Miyazaki Bouganvillea Airport in the southern island of Kyushu have decided to go big with a massive life-sized statue of an Alolan Exeggutor.

If you’re familiar with the pokemon in question, you probably know this is no small feat, as an Alolan Exeggutor is nearly 11 meters tall (10.9m or 35.75 feet).

The statue portraying the massive dragon and grass pokemon has been placed in the airport’s main hall where its leaves at the top reach all the way up to the third floor.

You can check it out below to see how impressive it looks, courtesy of Twitter users 【公式】ポケモン情報局, メイト, 3XXXとりぷるえっくす, and 実生(ミオ).

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course Review – Bake The World a Better Place

1 year 10 months ago

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course DLC on Nintendo Switch

It’s been almost five years since Studio MDHR debuted its eye-catchingly unique 1930s’-inspired Walt Disney and Fleischer Studios-era action-platformer. Snapping up numerous awards, accolades, and critical acclaim back in 2017, Cuphead went on to become an uber-popular indie hit. Now, with the team’s latest, much-anticipated expansion The Delicious Last Course finally here, is it the closing swansong that the titular hero deserves? Or is it a stodgy dessert that will give you the squits? Well, we can 100% confirm right now that it’s definitely not the latter. Phew!

Much like its title suggests, The Delicious Last Course serves as a welcome palate cleanser following the anarchic, balls-to-the-wall action of the original, and whisks players away to a brand new island brimming with nefarious bosses that are hellbent on seeing you pushing up the virtual daisies.

The story is a simple one: our brotherly duo, Cuphead and Mugman, are determined to help out an ol’ pal of theirs, Ms. Chalice, by bringing her back from the dead. Thing is, they need to cook a magical recipe in order for her to cross back over to the other side. This involves setting sail to an unexplored island and — yep, you guessed it — wreaking havoc on the local flora and fauna.

How to Get Truffles in Stardew Valley

1 year 10 months ago

Wondering how to get Truffles in Stardew Valley? Then, we’ve got just the guide for you. The Truffle is a rare mushroom in Stardew Valley and can be used to produce truffle oil, which can then be sold in exchange for vast sums of money. However, before any of that, you will first need to get your hands on Truffle. Here’s how you can easily do this.

How to Get Stardew Valley Truffles

It’s pretty easy to get Truffles in Stardew Valley. You can get Truffles in Stardew Valley by releasing an adult Pig (which needs a Deluxe Barn). The pig will search for the truffle, which will be dropped on the ground every day. But how do you get pigs?

That’s simple, too. All you need to do is build a barn, then upgrade it twice until it’s a Deluxe Barn. Now, simply buy a pig from Marnie’s ranch for 16,000g. Once that pig reaches the adult stage, it’ll search for truffles outside as long as you keep it fed and happy. Also, make sure the pigs have a terrain without paths or other objects on it.

Pigs will not find truffles in the winter (or when it’s raining), though, so that’s a good time to purchase baby piglets and raise them to adulthood. If everything goes alright, pigs will produce a truffle every day. Those who have bonded well and have higher friendship levels might possibly find more than one truffle per day.

Apart from pigs which are the primary source of getting Truffles in Stardew Valley, you might occasionally find the traveling cart selling a truffle for the price of 1,875g at the lowest, and 3,125g at the highest. You can not only make truffle oil using truffles but also donate one.

Ubisoft Is Shutting Off the Servers for These 15 Games in September 2022

1 year 10 months ago

One of the joys in gaming is wanting to wrap yourself in nostalgia and throw on a game from a past console that you used to spend hours on. For some titles, the multiplayer servers still exist. Though, there are 15 Ubisoft games that will be losing their multiplayer access right on Sept. 1.

Ubisoft gives further details about what exactly will be unavailable with the server closures. In most cases, it simply makes multiplayer on online features unavailable. However, in the case of several PC titles, you’ll be losing a little bit more. “Additionally, the installation and access to downloadable content (DLC) will be unavailable.”

For the list below, it only applies to the original releases of these titles, servers for remasters will remain open for the time being. The affected games are on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U.

  • Anno 2070
  • Assassin’s Creed II
  • Assassin’s Creed 3
  • Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
  • Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD
  • Assassin’s Creed Revelations
  • Driver San Francisco
  • Far Cry 3
  • Ghost Recon Future Soldier
  • Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands
  • Rayman Legends
  • Silent Hunter 5
  • Space Junkies
  • Splinter Cell: Blacklist
  • ZombiU

The case of Space Junkies is a little unique, “as a multiplayer only title, you will be unable to play the game going forward.” Those who want to enjoy the game will have until September when it will become unplayable.

Stardew Valley: How to Find Linus’ Basket (Where Linus’ Basket Is)

1 year 10 months ago

Stardew Valley throws random quests at you to complete so that you can have a respite between the banalities of day to day farm life. One of these is from Linus, the Pelican Town homeless person that lost his blackberry basket. You’ll have that basket back for him in no time. Here’s where Linus’ basket is in Stardew Valley.

Unfortunately, Linus himself gives no word on where the basket could be, because he doesn’t remember. Fortunately, what Linus can’t tell you, we can!

You’ll first receive the message in your mailbox about Linus’ basket on the Fall 8 in Year 1. Once you’ve read the message, you can then proceed to track down his missing item.

How to Find Linus’ Basket in Stardew Valley (Where Linus’ Basket Is)

Linus’ basket can be found by the side of the road near the tunnel in the Backwoods area.

From your farm, head east. This will lead you to the bus stop area where you’re going to want to walk onto the actual road and then follow it west.

Head down the road and off-screen to the left will lead you to another area where, upon reaching the end of the road, you will find the basket laying off the side. Grab it when you’re there!

Here’s a picture of the specific area in Stardew Valley, in case it helps you.

As should be expected, there are significant spoilers for the series all the way up to the most recent release, Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory.

The Thronespire is the newest single-player dungeon in the Lost Ark June update. Similar to the other dungeons, players’ primary objective is to work through a plentitude of floors in Lost Ark Thronespire to get rewards like Guardian Stone Crystals, gem chests, Applied Welding, and more. Since it’s one of the newest additions to the game, many players are having a hard time completing its levels. How to Start Lost Ark Thronespire and its Requirements

To start Thronespire in Lost Ark, players will need to find its entrance which is scattered across almost all the major cities in the game. But before that, you must meet a certain set of requirements to be eligible for the Thronespire dungeon:

Phantom or Vandal: Which Valorant Rifle Is Best For You? Take This Quiz to Find Out

1 year 10 months ago

Wondering if you should use the Phantom or Vandal in Valorant and which rifle is best? Here’s a quiz to help you decide!

Consistent updates have seen Valorant’s meta shift and change over the years since its launch, but there’s one aspect of the game which has stayed constant: the eternal debate over which of its rifles is best. Are you a Phantom player or do you prefer the Vandal? The struggle to determine the answer never seems to end.

Well, now there is! Enter Twinfinite’s foolproof, super-accurate 10-question quiz, which has an incredibly impressive success rate in deciding whether the Phantom or the Vandal is the best option for the three people we tested it on…

I’m kidding. It’s definitely not foolproof, and my honest take as an Immortal 2+ Valorant player with thousands of hours playing Competitive, scrims, tournaments, and an unhealthy obsession with Valorant esports is that sometimes no matter what your role or typical preference between the two rifles is, sometimes one just feels better than the other. There’s no explaining it. And in an FPS game, you should always go with what makes you feel as though you have a better chance of popping off.

Still, that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few good rules to go by in helping you make a decision as to which weapon is your go-to between the two. These questions are designed to narrow down your decision and offer some direction, and just to have some fun too… because fun is always good. Enjoy!

Which Star Wars Character Are You? Take This Personality Quiz to Find Out

Among the most popular entertainment franchises of all time, Star Wars is beloved by a fanbase that spans nearly half a decade. The franchise is full of compelling characters, each with their own distinct personalities.

Indeed, there are literally generations of nerds who have been dressing up as their favorite characters long before cosplaying was even cool, let alone a hot ticket to internet stardom and a passive income lucrative enough to have Jabba the Hut wearing a Princess Leia bikini.

But if we peeled off the Jar Jar Binks bodysuits and remove the Storm Trooper bucket helmets of those most dedicated aficionados, who truly resides underneath?

Would you really be the universe’s last Jedi if you were thrown onto Hoth’s icy plains with nothing but the gooey insides of a deceased Tauntaun to keep you warm?

Well, we’re here to find out with our latest quiz, so let’s get to it.

Dislyte’s Bloody Hunt Trailer Teases Raid-like Event, Along With 3 New Espers: Amunet, Ullr, & Azure Dragon

1 year 10 months ago

Dislyte is one of the bigger mobile game releases of the year from Farlight and Lilith Games, and it’s certainly made a splash for itself by boasting an incredibly unique art style and very diverse cast of characters. The developers have just dropped a new trailer for the game, showing off three new Espers coming in the next update, along with a brand new game mode that looks a lot like a raid-style event with potential co-op elements.

You can check out the trailer down below:

The three new units are as follows:

  • Azure Dragon: Xiao Yin (Flow, 4-star)
  • Ullr: Aurelius (Flow, 4-star)
  • Amunet: Zora (Flow, 5-star)

The reveal of the three new Espers alone is already exciting, as the current meta is currently dominated by a lot of Inferno Espers, whereas Wind and Flow Espers have kinda fallen by the wayside, save for a select few standouts. All three new Espers will be Flow-attuned, which will hopefully shake up the meta when the patch does drop.

The Best Dragon Quest Games, All 11 Ranked

1 year 10 months ago

It’s long overdue, but it’s time to rank all the mainline Dragon Quest games that have been released so far.

Few game series have the fame and wide spread appeal that Dragon Quest enjoys. An RPG series stretching back three decades with talents the likes of Akira Toriyama tied to its creation and continued innovations, it has entertained gamers for years with tales of chosen heroes overcoming untold evils with the help of lovable party companions. As with any series, though, some entries proved better than others, and we’ve got all 11 mainline entries ranked from fine to phenomenal.

it’s worth noting that this ranking will not include the side and spin-off games like Dragon Quest Builders and Builders II which, while still awesome, aren’t exactly comparable to the big JRPG adventures of the main games.

The trailer provides a look at the cast of characters and a glimpse of the story, but it also showcases the English localization (which was confirmed a while ago) for the first time.

Interestingly, we also get a “This Winter” release window, which may mean that the western release may not be exactly at the same time as the Japanese one. That being said, it has to be close considering that the game launches in Japan on December 8.

The platforms as the same as Japan, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, and we also get a glimpse of a Mature ESRB rating, which isn’t very surprising given the game’s themes.

Summer Games Done Quick 2022 Raises Over $3 Million for Charity

1 year 10 months ago

The annual Summer Games Done Quick speedrunning marathon ended on Sunday morning and has raised over $3 million for charity. The weeklong event received over 42,000 donations totaling $3.01 million for the Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières organization, though a few late bids have increased the total since then.

This would mark the third-highest donation total in the organization’s history with the Awesome Games Done Quick 2022 marathon setting the record at $3.4 million earlier this year, followed by the Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 event at over $3.1 million raised.

Summer Games Done Quick 2022 was the first event to be held in-person after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down most operations starting in 2020. The last event to be held in-person was AGDQ 2020, and all events held after were online-only.

SGDQ 2022 had over 130 runs of various games such as Tunic, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Minecraft, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach, and more. There was also a Super Mario Sunshine run that seemingly ended in disaster, but bounced back with a flurry of donations and support from the community. Complete runs can be watched from the Games Done Quick YouTube channel.

Today Aniplex and Viz Media released a new trailer of the upcoming final arc of the Bleach anime, Thousand-Year Blood War.

The original Bleach manga by Tite Kubo (who recently worked on the character design of the latest Sakura Wars game) debuted in 2001, then sparking an anime series, theatrical releases, and even a live-action movie.

Of course, the massively popular franchise also appeared in plenty of additional kinds of media, including video games, light novels, and even stage plays.

Ten years have passed since the end of the original Bleach anime, so it’ll be nice to reconnect with Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia, and the other characters of the popular series.
